The invention relates to a packaging device (1) and to a method for producing packaging units (20) comprising at least two articles (30). In this case, the articles (30) are combined with a packaging means (35), wherein regions of the packaging means (35) are fixed to one another by means of an adhesive (40). The packaging device (1) comprises at least one grouping module (3), which grouping module (3) is designed to form an assembly (32) from at least two articles (30), and a packaging module (5), comprising a transport means for transporting the article assemblies (32) in a transport direction. The packaging module (5) is designed to arrange a packaging means (35) on the assembly (32) of at least two articles (30).
