Description

[0001] The invention relates to a base frame for a piece of seating furniture with at least two seats, comprising two side parts for setting up the base frame on a support surface, wherein the two side parts are connected to one another in a force-transmitting manner by means of a cross member of the base frame in an assembled state of the base frame, and the cross member is designed to fasten at least two seats arranged directly next to one another along the cross member to form the at least two seats of the seating furniture.

[0002] Such base frames for seating furniture are already known in a variety of designs from the prior art. However, these base frames have various disadvantages. The invention provides a remedy.

[0003] The object of the present invention is to improve a base frame for a piece of seating furniture.

[0004] To achieve this objective, the invention, in conjunction with the preamble of claim 1, is characterized in that the crossbar has a crossbar segment for each seat to form the crossbar in the assembled state of the base frame, and that crossbar segments arranged directly next to one another in the assembled state of the base frame are detachably connected to one another. The terms "crossbar" and "crossbar segments" are broadly defined according to the invention. Accordingly, a multitude of conceivable and appropriate structural and manufacturing embodiments for the respective individual case are summarized under these terms.

[0005] The particular advantage of the invention is that it improves a base frame for seating furniture. Due to the inventive design of the base frame, it is possible, for example, to deliver the base frame disassembled into its individual components to the end customer and then to assemble it into the inventive base frame in their home, i.e., on-site, namely to transfer the base frame into its assembled state. This has the decisive advantage over the prior art that the inventive base frame, disassembled into its individual components, can also be easily transported through narrow corridors and / or up narrow stairwells, for example in apartment buildings. Furthermore, any existing elevator systems can be used more effectively or even completely for transporting the inventive base frame. Finally, the handling of the base frame according to the invention is facilitated due to the lower weight of the individual components to be carried compared to the base frame according to the invention in its assembled state or a comparable base frame from the prior art. Transporting the base frame according to the invention is therefore much simpler and therefore more cost-effective.

[0006] In principle, the base frame according to the invention can be freely selected within wide, suitable limits in terms of type, function, material, and dimensions. Accordingly, a variety of different seating furniture items can be produced using the base frame according to the invention, so that the base frame according to the invention can be used as a basis for a wide range of seating requirements. The term "seating furniture" is to be interpreted broadly according to the invention and includes, for example, furniture designed for both sitting and lying, or merely for lying.

[0007] A particularly advantageous development of the base frame according to the invention provides that the crossbar segments are each designed as identical parts. In this way, the structural design of the base frame according to the invention for a seating furniture is further simplified and standardized, thus significantly facilitating storage, production, transport, and on-site assembly. This standardization of the crossbar segments used to form the crossbar for the base frame according to the invention also allows for higher production quantities, making the manufacture of the base frame according to the invention more cost-effective overall.

[0008] A further advantageous development of the base frame according to the invention provides that the traverse segments are each designed as a rectangular support frame. Preferably, the support frames each have a hollow front beam and a hollow rear beam connected to the front beam by means of two lateral connecting plates in a force-transmitting manner. Particularly preferably, the front beam and the rear beam are each 1.5 to 3 times as long as one of the connecting plates. This allows the traverse segments to be implemented in a very robust and therefore resilient manner, on the one hand, and with less material, on the other. Accordingly, the manufacturing costs and the weight of the base frame according to the invention are reduced. This applies in particular to the preferred embodiment of this development. The particularly preferred embodiment of the present development also has the further advantage that the depth of the respective cross member segment for forming the cross member, and thus the required depth of the base frame according to the invention for seating furniture of conventional dimensions, can be made small, so that the base frame according to the invention can be used effectively for a large number of different seating furniture, even for seating furniture with a relatively small depth. The aforementioned individual parts of the respective cross member segment, namely the front beam, the rear beam and the two connecting plates, can each be designed as identical parts. The front beam and / or the rear beam can each be designed as a tube or the like. However, the front beam and / or the rear beam can also have a different shape. Purely by way of example, reference is made here only to rectangular cross sections, for example a square cross section. The respective connecting plate can, for example, be manufactured as a sheet metal part.

[0009] An advantageous development of the last-mentioned development of the base frame according to the invention provides that the connecting plates each have a stiffener for stiffening the respective connecting plate. Preferably, the stiffener is designed as a stiffener formed from the respective connecting plate. Particularly preferably, the stiffener is designed as a cup or bead of the connecting plate that is formed outwards in the assembled state of the base frame. In this way, the stiffness of the connecting plates and thus the robustness of the truss segment produced therewith is further increased. According to the preferred embodiment of this development, the stiffening of the respective connecting plate is made possible in a very simple manner in terms of design and production technology. This applies in particular to the particularly preferred embodiment of this development.Furthermore, the aforementioned potting or beading can advantageously be designed as a contact surface for cross member segments arranged directly next to one another, so that these pottings and beads result in defined contact surfaces of the cross member segments arranged directly next to one another and connected to one another in the assembled state of the base frame according to the invention.

[0010] Another advantageous development of the base frame according to the invention provides that the base frame, in its assembled state, has at least one additional support leg arranged between the two side parts for supporting the base frame on the installation surface. Preferably, the length of the support leg is adjustable. Particularly preferably, the cross member segments each have a fastening element for fastening the support leg to one of these cross member segments. As a result, base frames according to the invention with more than two seats arranged next to one another can also be reliably supported on the installation surface of the base frame according to the invention. Accordingly, the base frame according to the invention is also designed to be suitable for larger pieces of seating. The preferred embodiment of this development also has the advantage that unevenness of the installation surface for the base frame according to the invention can be compensated for without additional means. The particularly preferred embodiment of the present development offers the further advantage that the individual truss segments each have a fastening element for attaching the aforementioned support foot as standard, so that any rework by the end customer on site can be eliminated. The fastening element for attaching the support foot can, for example, be an internal thread formed in the individual truss segment for receiving a corresponding screw bolt with an external thread arranged on the support foot. Of course, other connection techniques known to those skilled in the art and suitable for the respective individual case for connecting the support foot to one of the truss segments are also possible in principle, so that the aforementioned fastening element can be freely selected within wide suitable limits in terms of type, function, material and dimensions.Such additional support by means of a support leg is appropriate, for example, for seating furniture in which the cross member of the base frame according to the invention is composed of three or more cross member segments, i.e., for seating furniture with three or more adjacent seats. Accordingly, it is expedient to arrange the fastening element in the middle of the respective cross member segment, since, for example, in a piece of seating furniture with three seats, i.e., with a base frame according to the invention with three cross member segments, the support leg is arranged exactly centrally between the two side parts standing on the support surface of the base frame according to the invention. Of course, embodiments of the base frame according to the invention in which more than one support leg is used are also conceivable. This would be expedient, for example, for seating furniture with more than three seats.

[0011] As already explained above, the base frame according to the invention can be freely selected within wide, suitable limits. For example, it can be provided that the two side parts are each designed as a single support leg. In this way, the two side parts of the base frame according to the invention can be realized in a very simple and therefore cost-effective manner in terms of design and production technology. A preferred embodiment of this further development, however, provides that an armrest of the seating furniture can be detachably attached to the respective support leg. This increases the functionality of the side parts, since the side parts can no longer only serve to position the base frame according to the invention on the support surface, but can also be equipped with armrests that improve the ergonomics of the seating furniture. The armrests can also be changed or replaced on-site as desired or as needed.Accordingly, the side parts of the base frame according to the invention, which are designed as support feet, could each be combined with an armrest from a plurality of different armrests. For example, the armrests of the aforementioned plurality of armrests could differ from one another in terms of ergonomics and / or shape and / or material and / or color. Additional armrests, which would have to be attached to the seating furniture separately from the base frame according to the invention, for example, are thus not necessary. As an alternative to the aforementioned development and its preferred variant, it can also be provided that the two side parts are each designed as an armrest of the seating furniture. In this way, the functionality is also improved in the manner mentioned above. At the same time, the number of individual parts of the base frame according to the invention is further reduced by this embodiment, so that the advantages already outlined above regarding warehousing, production, transport, and assembly at the end customer's site are also possible. Of course, embodiments of the base frame according to the invention are also possible in which only a single side part is simultaneously designed as an armrest or is equipped with an armrest during production of the seating furniture.

[0012] Further advantages, features, and details of the base frame according to the invention can be derived from the further subclaims and the following description. The features mentioned therein may be essential to the invention individually or in any combination. Thus, reference can always be made to the disclosure relating to the individual aspects of the invention.

[0014] In the Fig. 1 to 5 A first embodiment of the basic frame according to the invention for a piece of seating furniture is shown purely by way of example.

[0015] The base frame 2 for a piece of seating furniture 4 designed as a two-seater sofa with two seats 6, 8 comprises two side parts 10, 12 for setting up the base frame 2 on a support surface 14, wherein the two side parts 10, 12 are arranged in a Fig. 1 In the illustrated assembly state of the base frame 2, the two seats 6, 8 are connected to each other in a force-transmitting manner by means of a cross member 16 of the base frame 2, and the cross member 16 is designed to fasten two seats 18, 20 arranged directly next to each other along the cross member 16 to form the two seats 6, 8 of the seating furniture 4. The seats 6, 8 and the seats 18, 20 are in the Fig. 2 and 3 In this first embodiment, the two side parts of the base frame 2 are each designed as an armrest of the seating furniture 4. See the drawing in the respective image plane of the Fig. 1 to 3side part 10 shown on the left. In contrast, the side part in the respective image plane of the Fig. 1 to 3 The side part 12 shown on the right is shown as an alternative variant of a side part, in which the side part is designed merely as a support base to which an armrest of the seating furniture can be detachably attached. The side parts 10, 12 are in the Fig. 1 transparent for better understanding. This split representation according to the Fig. 1 to 3 is for information purposes only and is not particularly relevant in practice. Typically, the base frame according to the invention is uniformly equipped either with side parts similar to side part 10 or with side parts similar to side part 12. Regardless of the selected embodiment, the side parts 10, 12 are detachably connected to the cross member 16 by means of screw connections in the assembled state of the base frame 2 in a manner known per se to those skilled in the art.

[0016] According to the invention, the cross member 16 has a cross member segment 22, 24 for each seat 18, 20 to form the cross member 16 in the assembled state of the base frame 2, wherein in the assembled state of the base frame 2, the cross member segments 22, 24 arranged directly next to one another are detachably connected to one another. See the Fig. 1 .

[0017] As can be seen from a summary of the Fig. 1 to 5As can be seen, the cross member segments 22, 24 are each designed as identical parts. Accordingly, the further explanations and drawings, insofar as they relate only to details of the present exemplary embodiment, apply equally to all individual parts and connections of the base frame 2 that have the same function. Furthermore, the cross member segments 22, 24 are each designed as a rectangular support frame, wherein the support frames 22, 24 each have a hollow front beam 26 and a hollow rear beam 32 that is connected to the front beam 26 by means of two lateral connecting plates 28, 30 in a force-transmitting manner, namely such that the front beam 26 and the rear beam 32 in this exemplary embodiment are each slightly less than twice as long as one of the connecting plates 28, 30.In the present embodiment, the connecting plates 28, 30 each have a stiffener 34 for stiffening the respective connecting plate 28, 30, wherein the stiffener 34 is formed as a stiffener 34 formed from the respective connecting plate 28, 30, namely in such a way that the stiffener 34 is formed as a cup or bead of the connecting plate 28, 30 that is formed outwards in the assembled state of the base frame 2. The connecting plates 28, 30 are here, as can be seen from the . Fig. 4 and 5 visible, symmetrical to each other.

[0018] The respective cross member segment 22, 24 is formed here from individual parts welded together, wherein the cross member segment 22, 24 is formed from a total of four individual parts welded together, namely the front beam 26, the two connecting plates 28, 30 and the rear beam 32. The cross member segments 22, 24, which are arranged directly next to one another in the assembled position of the base frame 2, are connected to one another in a force-transmitting manner by means of screw connections 36 in the present embodiment. The screw connections 36 are only in the positions corresponding to the second embodiment. Fig. 8 to 11 clearly visible, namely in an exploded view. Accordingly, for this aspect, which is identical for both embodiments, reference is made to the second embodiment. As can be seen in particular from the Fig. 8 to 11As can be seen, the connecting plates 28, 30 of these traverse segments 22, 24, which are arranged directly next to one another, are connected to one another in a force-transmitting manner by means of the screw connections 36, wherein the respective screw connection 36 is arranged in a cupping or beading of the respective connecting plate 28, 30 which projects in the direction of the directly adjacent connecting plate 30, 28, namely in such a way that the aforementioned cuppings or beads are at least partially formed as part of the stiffening 34 of the respective connecting plate 28, 30.

[0019] Similarly, the rear beams 32 of the cross member segments 22, 24, which are arranged directly next to one another, are connected to one another in a force-transmitting manner by means of screw connections 38, wherein these rear beams 32 are screwed together by means of a screw plate 40 overlapping these two rear beams 32. See again the figures corresponding to the second embodiment. Fig. 8 to 11, in which these screw connections 38 and the corresponding screw plate 40 are clearly visible, namely in an exploded view. Accordingly, for this aspect, which is identical in both embodiments, reference is also made to the second embodiment. For the purpose of forming the respective screw connection 38, threaded inserts with internal threads corresponding to the screws of the respective screw connection 38 are arranged in the rear beams 32 in a manner known per se to those skilled in the art.

[0020] In the Fig. 6 to 11A second embodiment of the base frame according to the invention is shown, also purely by way of example. The two embodiments are essentially identical to one another in most features, so that reference can be made to the respective embodiments and explanations. See also the above explanations regarding the first embodiment. Therefore, the second embodiment will be explained below only to the extent that it distinguishes it from the first embodiment. Identical or equivalent components are designated by the same reference numerals as in the first embodiment.

[0021] In contrast to the first embodiment, the base frame 2 of the second embodiment is designed to be suitable for a seating furniture 4 designed as a three-seater sofa. Accordingly, the base frame 2 here has a total of three cross-member segments 22, 24, 25 instead of two, wherein the directly adjacent cross-member segments 22, 24 on the one hand and 24, 25 on the other hand are connected to one another in the manner already explained above in the manner shown in the Fig. 6 shown assembled state of the base frame 2 are detachably connected to the cross member 16. Each cross member segment 22, 24, 25 of the cross member 16 is, analogously to the first embodiment, assigned to one of the seats of the now total of three adjacently arranged seats 6, 8, 9. The three seats are in the Fig. 6 to 11not shown. Due to the greater width of the base frame 2 in the present second embodiment compared to the first embodiment, the base frame 2 in its assembled state has an additional support leg 42 arranged between the two side parts 10, 12 for supporting the base frame 2 on the installation surface 14, wherein a length of the support leg 42 is adjustable in the present second embodiment. The cross member segments 22, 24, 25 each have a fastening element 44, namely a fastening element designed as a threaded insert with an internal thread, for fastening the support leg 42 to one of these cross member segments 22, 24, 25. See also the above explanations. Accordingly, the support leg 42 here has a screw bolt 46 with an external thread corresponding to the aforementioned internal thread. The screw bolt 46 is in the Fig. 8The above-mentioned threads are shown in the Fig. 6 to 11 not explicitly shown. In the present second embodiment, the support foot 42 is screwed into the fastening element 44 of the cross member segment 24 arranged in the center of the cross member 16 in the assembled state of the base frame 2. The respective fastening element 44 is arranged centrally in the front beam 26 of each cross member segment 22, 24, 25. The same applies to the cross member segments 22, 24 of the first embodiment according to the Fig. 1 to 5 However, in the base frame 2 of the first embodiment, no support foot is required due to the shorter length of the cross member 16.

[0022] Furthermore, the present second embodiment differs from the first embodiment in that the two side parts 10, 12 are each designed as a support foot, namely in such a way that on the respective support foot 10, 12 a Fig. 6 to 11not shown armrest of the seating furniture 4 is detachably fastened. The side parts 10, 12 are, analogously to the first exemplary embodiment, each detachably connected to the cross member 16 by means of screw connections. For the purpose of producing the aforementioned screw connections, on the one hand the stiffeners 34 of the connecting plate 28 of the cross member segment 22 and the connecting plate 30 of the cross member segment 25, each with two screw holes arranged therein, and on the other hand two further screw holes arranged in an additional cup of the respective connecting plate 28, 30, so that the aforementioned connecting plates 28, 30 are each detachably connected to the respective side part 10, 12 with a total of four screw connections arranged approximately in a square in the area of the respective corresponding front member 26.In contrast, the side parts of the first embodiment, which are also designed as armrests, see the side part 10 according to the . Fig. 1 to 3 , detachably connected to the cross member 16 as follows: on the one hand by means of the stiffeners 34 of the connecting plate 28 of the cross member segment 22 and the connecting plate 30 of the cross member segment 25, each with two screw holes arranged therein, and on the other hand by means of two further screw holes arranged in an additional potting of the respective connecting plate 28, 30 and adjacent to the respective rear beam 32, so that the aforementioned connecting plates 28, 30 are each detachably connected to the respective corresponding side part with a total of four screw connections arranged approximately in a rectangle extending from the respective front beam 26 to the respective rear beam 32.

[0023] The detachable connection between the directly adjacent cross member segments 22, 24 in the first embodiment and 22, 24 and 24, 25 in the second embodiment is designed analogously to the detachable connection of the cross member 16 to the side parts 10, 12 according to the second embodiment across all embodiments. Furthermore, in both present embodiments, all screw connections 36 are arranged in the respective corresponding cupping or beading, for example, the stiffeners 34, of the connecting plates 28, 30, which are directly adjacent to one another in the assembled state of the base frame 2, such that the respective screw head and the respective screw nut of the individual screw connection 36 are arranged completely in the corresponding cupping or beading. The same applies to all screw connections of the cross member 16 to the two side parts 10, 12.Furthermore, all the cups and beads of the connecting plates 28, 30 are designed to coordinate with one another in such a way that directly adjacent connecting plates 28, 30 form contact surfaces that are essentially in the same plane. The same applies to the connecting plates 28, 30 that directly adjoin the side panels 10, 12.

[0024] Due to the inventive design of the base frame 2 of the first and second exemplary embodiments, it is thus possible to deliver the base frame 2, for example, disassembled into its individual components to the end customer and to assemble it into the base frame 2 only in the customer's home, i.e., on-site, namely to transfer the base frame 2 into its assembled state. This has the decisive advantage over the prior art that the base frame 2, disassembled into its individual components, can also be easily transported through narrow corridors and / or up narrow stairwells, for example, in apartment buildings. Furthermore, any existing elevator systems can be used more effectively or even entirely for transporting the base frame 2.Finally, the handling of the base frame 2 is made easier due to the lower weight of the individual components to be carried, compared to the base frame 2 in its assembled state or a comparable base frame from the prior art. Transporting the base frame 2 is therefore much simpler and therefore more cost-effective.

[0025] However, the invention is not limited to the present embodiments. See, for example, the relevant statements regarding optional and / or alternative features of the base frame according to the invention in the introduction to the description as well as in the explanation of the first and second embodiments.
