Abstract
Description
[0001] The invention relates to an anchor element for a retaining wall brick or for a retaining wall for securing the soil of an embankment and to a retaining wall produced with the anchor element or to a brick for a retaining wall produced therewith.
[0002] Retaining walls for securing or stabilizing soil on slopes or embankments are already known. For their construction, bricks or blocks made of precast concrete elements are placed next to one another and stacked on top of one another. Retaining walls or corresponding walls are subjected to predominantly horizontal loads due to the earth pressure of the slope. In retaining walls made of precast concrete elements, adjacent concrete blocks can also be fixed in their relative position by form-fitting interlocking studs and recesses. Due to the correspondingly high dead weight of the concrete blocks, a high level of stability can be achieved even with blocks that are only loosely placed on top of one another. For particularly steep slopes or particularly high retaining walls, additional anchor elements or tension members embedded in the soil of the backfill material can be provided.
[0003] The anchor elements or tensile reinforcements connect the soil mass to the bricks that form the retaining wall. The commonly used polymer tensile reinforcements (geogrids) are extruded, grid-like structures that are connected to the bricks or concrete blocks. The geogrids have elongated ribs that connect to transversely aligned rods, forming elongated openings between the ribs. To build a retaining wall, rows of blocks are stacked one after the other, and the mesh-like tensile reinforcements are alternately spread horizontally on top of previously filled soil. Additional soil is then added on top. The anchor elements, thus enclosed in the soil, then form, together with the blocks to which they are connected, a material composite with internally tensile strength.
[0004] However, it is well known that the construction of conventional retaining walls with anchor elements requires a significant amount of labor. In particular, the installation of the bricks or concrete blocks and the connection of the anchor elements to the bricks require the appropriate skill and experience of the personnel carrying out the work.
[0005] The object of the present invention was to create an anchor element with which the production of retaining walls or retaining wall bricks for securing the soil of an embankment can be simplified.
[0006] This object is achieved by a device according to the claims.
[0007] The device according to the invention comprises a channel-shaped container part aligned with respect to a longitudinal axis with a lid and a geogrid, wherein the container part is designed as a storage space for receiving the geogrid.
[0008] It is particularly advantageous if, when the anchor element is closed, an opening in the container section is closed by the lid, and the geogrid is stored in a rolled-up or folded state within the container section. This ensures the geogrid is securely stowed and significantly reduces the risk of damage to the geogrid during transport to a construction site.
[0009] According to an advantageous development of the anchor element, it is provided that a first edge region of an edge of the container part, which is aligned parallel with respect to the longitudinal axis, and a second edge region of the lid, which is assigned to the first edge region of the container part, are designed as a passage region for the geogrid, wherein the geogrid is clamped between the first edge region of the container part and the second edge region of the lid in the closed state of the anchor element.
[0010] The design of the anchor element, wherein the geogrid has an approximately rectangular shape in a rolled-out or unfolded state, and wherein a first end region of the geogrid extends into an area outside the storage space of the container part and outside the passage area, makes it possible to produce bricks for a retaining wall for securing soil of an embankment by introducing such an anchor element into a corresponding concrete casting mold.
[0011] According to a preferred development, it is provided that the geogrid (8) comprises polyester rods laid crosswise and welded together, wherein grid openings between the polyester rods have a clear width and a clear length with a value between 20 mm and 100 mm, preferably between 30 mm and 70 mm.
[0012] A variant of the anchor element in which a snap connection is formed between the first edge region and the second edge region of the container part and the lid also proves to be advantageous, since such a connection can simultaneously produce a tight closure.
[0013] According to a further development of the anchor element, it is provided that the cover comprises a flat base plate, a first snap hook and a second snap hook, wherein the first snap hook and the second snap hook are arranged approximately perpendicularly projecting from the base plate.
[0014] Another advantageous design for the anchor element is one in which a sealing element is arranged in the passage area of the anchor element. This prevents concrete from penetrating the storage space of the anchor element during the production of bricks as concrete blocks.
[0015] An advantageous further development of the anchor element provides that the sealing element comprises an upper sealing strip and a lower sealing strip, wherein the end region of the geogrid lies between the upper and the lower sealing strip.
[0016] According to an advantageous embodiment of the anchor element, it can be provided that the sealing element comprises a labyrinth seal or that the passage area is designed as a labyrinth seal.
[0017] The design of the anchor element, according to which a beam is arranged in the direction of its longitudinal axis between a first end wall of the anchor element and the geogrid and between the geogrid and a second end wall of the anchor element opposite the first end wall in the direction of the longitudinal axis, wherein the storage space at the first and second end walls is closed by the two beams, has the advantage of increased inherent rigidity and dimensional stability.
[0018] An advantageous development of the anchor element provides that the lid comprises a shield, wherein in the closed state of the anchor element the shield is arranged adjacent to the first snap hook and the first edge region of the container part.
[0019] It is also advantageous if the shield is arranged in the region of an outer side of the container part adjacent to the first edge region of the container part.
[0020] It is particularly advantageous if at least one seal is arranged between the outside of the container part and the shield.
[0021] The object of the invention is also achieved independently by a brick for a retaining wall for securing the soil of an embankment, which brick comprises a brick base body and an anchor element for connection to the soil.
[0022] According to an advantageous embodiment of the brick, the anchor element comprises a channel-shaped container part aligned with respect to a longitudinal axis and a geogrid, wherein the container part is designed as a storage space for receiving the geogrid.
[0023] In a closed state of the anchor element, the opening of the container part is closed by a lid and the geogrid is accommodated in a rolled-up or folded state in the container part.
[0024] For a better understanding of the invention, it is explained in more detail using the following figures.
[0025] They show in a highly simplified, schematic representation: Fig. 1 a retaining wall with a brick according to the invention, shown in perspective; Fig. 2 the brick of the retaining wall, according Fig. 1 , shown in perspective; Fig. 3 the anchor element, according to Fig. 2, perspective and partially exploded view; Fig. 4 a cross section of the anchor element, according to Fig. 3 ; Fig. 5 a second embodiment of the brick with a brick base body and an anchor element in the closed state, shown in perspective; Fig. 6 the brick according to Fig. 5 in the open state; Fig. 7 shows an alternative embodiment of the anchor element, illustrated by a cross-section; Fig. 8 shows a further embodiment of the anchor element, illustrated in perspective; Fig. 9the anchor element according to Fig. 8 , shown in perspective and looking towards the side of the container part.
[0026] By way of introduction, it should be noted that in the variously described embodiments, identical parts are provided with identical reference symbols or component designations. The disclosures contained throughout the description can be applied analogously to identical parts with identical reference symbols or component designations. Furthermore, the positional information chosen in the description, such as top, bottom, side, etc., refers to the directly described and illustrated figure, and these positional information must be applied analogously to the new position in the event of a change in position.
[0027] Based on the Fig. 1 and 2 A first embodiment of a brick 1 for a retaining wall 2 for securing the soil of an embankment is described. Fig. 1shows retaining wall 2 in perspective. The situation depicted corresponds to a phase of the partial construction of retaining wall 2, in which additional bricks or blocks still need to be added for complete completion.
[0028] In the Fig. 1The brick 1 according to the invention is shown as part of the retaining wall 2 in an assembled state. The brick 1 is lying on the ground and arranged together with a second brick 3 lying next to it and a third brick 4 stacked laterally offset on top of it. The bricks 1, 3, 4 have - in a manner known per se - at least approximately the external shape of a cuboid. On a side wall 5 of a brick base body 6 facing the viewer, the brick 1 is formed with an anchor element 7 for connection to the soil (not shown) of an embankment. The side wall 5 of the brick 1 corresponds to that side of the bricks 1, 3, 4 that faces the embankment or slope. In the completed state of the embankment protection system, this side is covered by the soil of the embankment and absorbs the predominantly horizontal earth pressure of the slope. The anchor element 7 comprises a geogrid 8 which, in the situation shown, protrudes approximately horizontally from the side wall 5 of the brick base body 6. On the other hand, a further part of the anchor element 7 is a channel-shaped container part 9 sunk into the side wall 5 of the brick base body 6. This container part 9 simultaneously forms a storage space for receiving the geogrid 8. This makes it possible to enclose the geogrid 8 in a rolled-up or folded state in the storage space of the container part 9 or to pack it into the container part 9. The channel-shaped container part 9 is aligned parallel with respect to a longitudinal axis 10 of the brick 1 or the brick base body 6.
[0029] The Fig. 2 shows the brick 1 of the retaining wall 2 according to Fig. 1shown in perspective. The geogrid 8 of the anchor element 7 is shown in the unfolded or unrolled state. In this state, the geogrid 8 has an approximately rectangular shape and a first end region 11 of the geogrid 8 is firmly connected to the brick body 6. If the brick base body 6 is made of concrete, the geogrid 8 is attached by pouring the first end region 11 of the geogrid 8 into the concrete of the brick base body 6. The container part 9 delimiting the storage space for receiving the geogrid 8 has the shape of an elongated, rectilinear channel in the side wall 5 of the brick base body 6. Accordingly, the storage space for the geogrid 8 is delimited by the container part 9 and an opening 12 in the side wall 5 of the brick base body 6.
[0030] The position or orientation of the geogrid 8 relative to the brick base body 6 of the brick 1 is shown in the illustrations of the Fig. 1 and 2 shown in such a way as it corresponds to the final application at a site of use or on a construction site. The special feature of the anchor element 7 according to the invention or of the brick 1 is that the geogrid 8 is accommodated or stored in a folded or rolled-up state in the storage space of the container part 9 and remains there until final use. For this purpose, the opening 12 of the container part 9 is also covered by a lid ( Fig. 3, 4) closed. Formed into such a compact shape, the brick 1, i.e., the brick base body 6, can be easily transported together with the geogrid 8 stored therein. The integration of the anchor element 7 or its geogrid 8 into the brick base body 6 achieved in the manner described also offers the advantage of reducing the risk of damage to the geogrid 8, which would otherwise have to be transported separately. Furthermore, the assembly of the retaining wall 2 at the installation site is also significantly simplified.
[0031] To construct the retaining wall 2, the bricks 1 can simply be stacked one row at a time. Only during the subsequent filling of the space between the retaining wall 2 and the slope to be reinforced with soil or fill material are the anchor elements 7 used. To do this, the closure of the openings 12 is removed, and the geogrid 8 is unfolded and placed on the piled soil. Another layer of soil is then piled over this expanded geogrid 8 until the corresponding height of the geogrid 8 of another brick 1 is reached, and so on.
[0032] Based on the Figs. 3 and 4 The anchor element 7 for a retaining wall brick 1 for securing the soil of a slope is now described. Fig. 3 shows the anchor element 7 according to Fig. 2 perspective and exploded view.
[0033] The container part 9 is shaped like a channel with respect to a longitudinal axis 13 and forms a storage space for the rolled-up geogrid 8. When the anchor element 7 is closed, the opening 12 of the container part 9 is closed by a lid 14. For this purpose, a snap connection is preferably formed between the container part 9 and the lid 14. In particular, a first edge region 15 of the edge of the container part 9, which is aligned parallel with the longitudinal axis 13, is designed as a rectilinearly extending edge. This makes it possible to loop the geogrid 8 around this first edge region 15 of the edge of the container part 9, so that the geogrid 8 protrudes from the storage space of the container part 9. This means that the first end region 11 of the geogrid 8 is located outside the storage space of the container part 9.A snap hook 16 of the lid 14, which is brought into contact with the first edge region 15 of the container part 9 during closing, forms together with the first edge region 15 a passage region 17 for the geogrid 8.
[0034] Opposite the first edge region 15 of the container part 9, a second edge region 18, also aligned parallel with respect to the longitudinal axis 13, is provided on the edge of the container part 9 for producing a snap connection with a second snap hook 19 of the lid 14.
[0035] The channel-shaped container part 9, together with the lid 14, forms a radial boundary of the storage space of the container part 9 with respect to the longitudinal axis 13. This boundary geometrically corresponds to the surface area of a right prism with respect to the longitudinal axis 13. Finally, the anchor element 7 also comprises a first end wall 20 and a second end wall 21, which close the two ends of the storage space corresponding to the longitudinal extension of the longitudinal axis 13. The two end walls 20, 21 geometrically correspond to a "base area" and a "cover area" of the prismatic storage space of the container part 9.
[0036] The Fig. 4 shows a cross section of the anchor element 7 according to Fig. 3. The anchor element 7 is shown in its closed state, wherein the two snap hooks 16, 19 of the lid 14 engage with the corresponding edge regions 15, 18 of the container part 9. A section of the geogrid 8 is clamped between the edge region 15 of the container part 9 and the corresponding edge of the lid 14 or the snap hook 16 of the lid 14, and the first end region 11 of the geogrid 8 projects outwards. The lid 14 comprises, in addition to a flat base plate 22 and the two snap hooks 16, 19 projecting approximately perpendicularly therefrom, also a shield 23. The shield 23 of the lid 14 is arranged adjacent to the first snap hook 16 and - when connected to the container part 9 - to the first edge region 15 of the container part 9. In the shown, closed state of the anchor element 7, the shield 23 of the cover 14 is aligned approximately perpendicularly from the base plate 22.The shield 23 is arranged in the region of an outer side 24 of the container part 9 adjacent to the first edge region 15 of the container part 9. The shield 23 of the lid 14 is thus aligned approximately parallel to the outer side 24 of the container part 9. It is particularly advantageous if at least one sealing element 25 is arranged between the outer side 24 of the container part 9 and the shield 23 of the lid 14. The end region 11 of the geogrid 8 protruding from the storage space of the container part 9 is thus also clamped between the outer side 24 of the container part 9 and the sealing element 25 or the shield 23.
[0037] The anchor element 7 constructed in this way is suitable for producing a retaining wall brick 1 for securing the soil of a slope. The anchor element 7 comprises at least the channel-shaped container part 9, aligned with the longitudinal axis 13, with the lid 14 and the geogrid 8, wherein the container part 9 forms the storage space for receiving the geogrid 8. Advantageously, when the anchor element 7 is closed, the opening 12 of the container part 9 is closed by the lid 14, whereby the geogrid 8 is securely stored in a rolled-up or folded state in the container part 9. The brick base body 6 of the brick 1 according to the invention can advantageously be produced using concrete, which is filled into a suitably prepared mold. Before filling the casting mold with concrete, the anchor element 7 is arranged in the casting mold in the desired position and orientation and fastened to the corresponding side wall.
[0038] In the case of Fig. 2The brick 1 shown can be produced using a cuboid casting mold, to one side wall of which (corresponding to wall 5) the anchor element 7 is attached with an outward-facing opening 12. After the concrete mass filling the volume of the brick base body 6 has hardened, the brick 1 is then present in a firm connection between the brick base body 6 and the anchor element 7, with part of the wall 5 being formed by the cover 14 closing the opening 12. On the other hand, when the casting mold is filled, the first end region 11 of the geogrid 8 is cast into the concrete volume of the brick base body 6. The geogrid 8 thus forms a firmly connected unit together with the brick base body 6. When the brick 1 is finally installed in the retaining wall 2, only the cover 14 needs to be removed in order to unfold the geogrid 8 and insert it into the soil of the embankment.
[0039] After removing the lid 14, the container part 9 and the shield 23 remain connected to the brick base body 6, along with the geogrid 8. Opening the anchor element 7 or removing the lid 14 is made particularly easy by the fact that a predetermined breaking point 26 is formed in an area of the base plate 22 of the lid 14, between the snap hook 16 and the shield 23. Furthermore, to open the container part 9, in addition to the lid 14, the two end walls 20, 21 can also be removed. This is possible if a value of a longitudinal extension 27 parallel to the longitudinal axis 10 of the brick base body 6 is equal to a value of a longitudinal extension 28 parallel to the longitudinal axis 13 of the anchor element 7.
[0040] In the Figs. 5 and 6a further and possibly independent embodiment of the anchor element 7 or the brick 1 is shown, wherein again the same reference numerals or component designations are used for the same parts as in the previous Fig. 1 to 4 To avoid unnecessary repetition, please refer to the detailed description in the previous Fig. 1 to 4 pointed out or referred to.
[0041] Based on the Figs. 5 and 6 An alternative embodiment of a brick 1 according to the invention is described. Fig. 5shows the brick 1 with the brick base body 6 and the anchor element 7 in the closed state. According to this embodiment of the brick 1, the longitudinal extension 28 of the anchor element 7 or its container part 9 extends only over a partial area of the length 27 of the brick base body 6. The brick base body 6 and the anchor element 7 together have the external shape of a cuboid, with the cover 14 of the anchor element 7 forming part of the wall 5 of the brick 1. The geogrid 8 is enclosed in the container part 9, with the first end region 11 of the geogrid 8 being cast into the concrete filling the volume of the brick base body and being firmly connected to it.
[0042] The Fig. 6 shows the brick 1 according to Fig. 5in the open state. That is, the lid 14 is removed from the opening 12 of the container part 9, and the geogrid 8 is shown in an unrolled or unfolded state. According to this embodiment of the brick 1 or its anchor element 7, the two end walls 20, 21 are formed integrally with the container part 9. The container part 9, the end walls 20, 21, and the lid 14 of the anchor element 7 are preferably made of a plastic.
[0043] In the Fig. 7 a further and possibly independent embodiment of the anchor element 7 is shown, wherein again the same reference numerals or component designations are used for the same parts as in the previous Figs. 3 and 4 To avoid unnecessary repetition, please refer to the detailed description in the previous Fig. 1 to 6 pointed out or referred to.
[0044] The Fig. 7shows a detail of the brick 1 with an alternative embodiment of the anchor element 7. In this embodiment, the passage area 17 between the container part 9 and the lid 14 is formed with an alternative sealing element 25. The sealing element 25 has a labyrinth seal. This allows a particularly good sealing effect to be achieved when pouring and molding the brick base body 6 with concrete. The labyrinth seal in the area of the first edge area 15 of the container part 9 is preferably combined with a snap connection in the area of the second edge area 18, as is also shown in Fig. 4 is shown.
[0045] The Fig. 8shows a further embodiment of the anchor element 7 for a retaining wall 2. The geogrid 8 is accommodated in the interior of the anchor element 7 or in the storage space of the anchor element 7 in a rolled-up state, with the end region 11 of the geogrid 8 protruding from the storage space of the anchor element 7. This end region 11 of the geogrid 8 is intended to be cast into the concrete of the retaining wall 2 or into the concrete of a brick 1 and thus anchored therein. The part of the geogrid 8 rolled up in the storage space of the anchor element 7, on the other hand, is intended to be rolled out and incorporated into the soil of an embankment after the construction of the retaining wall 2.
[0046] The channel-shaped container part 9 and the lid 14 are manufactured with a uniform rectangular cross-section relative to the longitudinal axis 13. The ratio of a height 39 to a depth 40 of the cross-section of the container part 9 is selected to be at least 2:1. In the illustrated embodiment of the anchor element 7, the ratio of height 39 to depth 40 is approximately 5:1. The container part 9 of the anchor element 7 appears in cross-section in the shape of a "C." The lid 14, in turn, is designed essentially mirror-symmetrically to the container part 9, with an upper leg 29 and a lower leg 30 of the lid 14 each enclosing the edge region 15 and the edge region 18 of the container part 9 on the outside, respectively. Thus, at the same time, the passage area 17 for the geogrid 8 is formed in the edge area 15 of the container part 9 between the container part 9 and the lower leg 30 of the lid 14.
[0047] The container part 9 is preferably made from a correspondingly bent sheet metal. The lid 14 can preferably be made of plastic. It is also provided that the lid 14 is formed in the region of the upper leg 29 as well as in the region of the lower leg 30 with a perforation 31, 32 running parallel to the direction of the longitudinal axis 13. The two perforations 31, 32 make it possible, after the construction of the retaining wall 2, to open the storage space of the container part 9 and to roll out the geogrid 8 horizontally.
[0048] The geogrid 8 is preferably made of crosswise laid polyester flat or polyester profile bars with welded nodes. Stretched polyester bars are preferably used. A clear width 33 and a clear length 34 of the grid openings are preferably manufactured with a value between 20 mm and 100 mm. The values of the clear width 33 and the clear length 34 are preferably dimensioned with a value between 30 mm and 70 mm.
[0049] The Fig. 9 shows the anchor element 7 according to Fig. 8, shown in perspective and with a view obliquely towards its container part 9. The geogrid 8 is in a rolled-up state enclosed in the storage space of the anchor element 7. The sealing element 25 is arranged at the end region 11 of the geogrid 8, which protrudes from the passage region 17 out of the storage space. According to this exemplary embodiment, the sealing element 25 is formed by an upper sealing strip 35 and a lower sealing strip 36. The geogrid 8 or its protruding end region 11 comes to lie between the lower sealing strip 36 and the upper sealing strip 35. A hydrophilic, swellable strip (a so-called joint strip) made of synthetic rubber is preferably used for the sealing strips 35, 36. The two sealing strips 35, 36 are preferably attached to one another or to the end region 11 of the geogrid 8 by gluing.
[0050] Between the end wall 20 of the anchor element 7 and the rolled-up geogrid 8 on the one hand, and between the opposite end wall 21 and the geogrid 8 on the other hand, a beam 37, 38 is arranged in the remaining storage space of the anchor element 7. The two beams 37, 38 can be made of wood or plastic and are dimensioned such that the corresponding volume in the area of the two end walls 20, 21 is completely filled. By providing the two beams 37, 38 in the area of the end walls 20, 21, the mechanical stability of the anchor element 7 is significantly increased.
[0051] To construct a retaining wall 2 using formwork or a mold into which fresh concrete is poured, the anchor element 7 can be integrated or cast into the retaining wall 2 by placing the anchor element 7 with the side of the cover 14 against the inside of the formwork and fastening it thereto. This can be done, for example, with screws that extend through the beams 37, 38 and the formwork. Preferably, the anchor element 7 is fastened to the inside of the formwork using nails. After the concrete forming the base body of the retaining wall 2 has hardened, the screws are loosened and the formwork (or the corresponding formwork panel) is removed. This finally exposes the cover 14 and the storage space of the anchor element 7 can be opened.
