Abstract
Description
[0001] Gutter element for drainage
[0002] Description
[0003] The invention relates to a channel element for draining a traffic area.
[0004] When draining traffic areas, the collected rainwater or liquid is usually directed specifically into a sewer system. If the liquid is contaminated, e.g., in parking lots or near LAU facilities (storage, filling, or handling of water-polluting substances) or gas stations, it is particularly important to ensure that no liquid at all penetrates the surrounding soil. The water should then be channeled entirely via channel elements into appropriate separators, with individual channel elements arranged adjacent to one another, for example, or butted end-to-end, in order to cover longer distances or larger areas with the resulting channel sections. The term "drainage" therefore refers not only to water being drained, but to any liquid being drained.
[0005] Gutter elements are usually arranged with their tops at ground level to allow for driving over. A gutter body or a gutter of a gutter element can be covered by a metal and / or drive-over cover, e.g., a grating. Furthermore, the gutter is preferably installed in a foundation, e.g., concreted into a floor surface or underneath and / or on an outer surface or in the flank area (or on both outer surfaces), e.g., to allow for driving over without damage.
[0006] In a gutter system, several gutter elements are usually sealed at their junction with one another or at the gutter joint using a specially designed joint. It has been shown that leaks in the junction can cause fluid to drain from the gutter elements into the concrete foundation, for example, and cause erosion. Water containing de-icing salt, in particular, can damage concrete. This can cause the fluid to seep into the surrounding soil, damaging the foundation and impairing the load-bearing capacity of the gutter element. A gutter element of the type described above is known from DE 10 2004 034 655 A1, but it is not suitable for all applications and cannot always be permanently sealed.
[0007] The invention is based on the object of providing an improved gutter element in which a transition between such gutter elements can be sealed simply and reliably for a long time while being easy to install. This object is achieved by the subject matter of claim 1. The object is further achieved by the subject matter of claim 9. Preferred embodiments of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
[0008] In particular, the object is achieved by a channel element for draining a traffic area, preferably a heavy-duty traffic area, preferably for driving over, with a channel and a grating covering the channel on an upper side, wherein the channel has an at least substantially U- or V-shaped inner surface for guiding liquid in the channel, wherein the channel has an abutting surface on at least one end face for a sealable transition (i.e., for example, the abutting surface serves to form a sealable or tight joint) between two adjacent or butted channels, wherein the abutting surface has a recess that at least partially borders the inner surface and a groove next to the recess that at least partially follows the course of the recess. The abutting surface can therefore have a groove that at least partially borders the recess and / or is spaced from the inner surface. Under the abutting surface, for example,a surface, a surface shape and / or a three-dimensional geometry. Preferably, the abutting surface can form a positive connection with a corresponding abutting surface, acting at least substantially transversely to the longitudinal direction of the channel. Thanks to the invention, the channel element can be sealed simply and very durably at the abutting surface and it is easy to install. The proposed abutting surface enables a redundant seal. The groove makes it possible to minimize the risk of incorrectly positioning a seal because the groove can hold the seal. Furthermore, the recess can ensure that a sealant can be subsequently applied to channels, whereby the inherently exposed recess facilitates visual inspection of the sealant. The channel element is preferably intended for a heavy-duty traffic area, including container terminals, truck shunting areas, high-traffic loading and unloading zones, steeply sloped areas, truck access roads, and / or railway crossings. Highways or expressways are also conceivable. "At least substantially U- or V-shaped" means in particular that at least one of the letters U or V is at least approximately recognizable, e.g., in a plan view of the abutment surface. The inner surface preferably has a substantially consistent shape, preferably a U- or V-shape, to ensure effective fluid flow along the channel.
[0009] The channel is preferably elongated and / or has two opposing abutting surfaces. The inner surface preferably extends at least substantially over the entire length of the channel element, preferably essentially from abutting surface to abutting surface. A further abutting surface corresponding to the abutting surface can be provided facing away from the abutting surface. Thus, the abutting surface and the further abutting surface of another, identical channel element can be arranged adjacent to or abutting against one another, usually in the elongated direction, forming a well-sealable transition.
[0010] The recess (opposite of a projection) forms, for example, a transition from the inner surface to the abutting surface. The recess can border the inner surface along its entire length or be arranged directly next to it along its entire length. The recess can be a material recess, preferably on the side of the abutting surface and / or the inner surface. The recess is advantageously an easy-to-manufacture shoulder which can therefore have a stepped shape in its cross-section, e.g. perpendicular to the abutting surface and / or in a vertical plane. The recess can also be a chamfer or a cavity. If two grooves butt together, the recess can be used to create a shape or groove which is V-shaped or U-shaped in cross-section, e.g. perpendicular to the abutting surface and / or in a vertical plane, and / or open on the side of the inner surface. The recess thus creates a simple method for applying sealant to adjacent grooves.
[0011] A groove or grooves can have a (usually much smaller) U- or V-shape in cross-section, e.g. transverse to the abutting surface and / or in a vertical plane. The groove is preferably provided for the introduction of a seal and / or as a material recess in the abutting surface. The groove preferably borders on the recess over its entire length or is immediately adjacent to the recess. In this respect, the groove can also be spaced from the inner surface. The groove and the recess can run in the same direction, at least in sections, preferably completely, and / or each have a U- or V-shape. This enables simple production of the abutting surface and symmetrical distribution of the static pressure from the diverted water between the groove and recess. This improves durability and tightness.
[0012] The groove and / or recess can end or taper at a distance from the top of the channel or grating. The groove can also be shorter than the recess. It has been shown that it is sufficient if the entire height of the inner surface is not sealed with the groove and / or recess, because static pressure rarely acts near the top, or at least the pressure is lower, than closer to the bottom.
[0013] If the recess, preferably an end or run-out of the recess, borders on or merges into at least one further groove in the abutting surface, the seal in the transition can be further improved. The further groove enables a sealant to be introduced, for example, continuously into the recess and the further groove. It is therefore also preferred if the or a further groove in the abutting surface runs, starting from the recess, in the direction of an outer surface facing away from the recess or the flank region of the channel - for example, at least essentially in a straight line and / or at an angle in the range between 0° and 90°, preferably between 20° and 40°, in particular 30° + / - 5°, to a top-side plane or the top side. The further groove can point from the inner surface towards the top side. The further groove can be U-shaped or V-shaped in the cross-section of the abutting surface. A sealant can thus be introduced easily and safely, for example on the inside.
[0014] The further groove can end away from the recess, e.g. at a distance of up to 3 mm from the outer surface, e.g. to form an easily removable thin skin. One or more further grooves can also run away from the recess all the way to the outer surface and be provided with a detachable and / or destructible closure option with a catch, a hole, an insert and / or a plug. This means that the further groove only optionally provides a passage from the inner surface to the outer surface, which is then only used when required by simply breaking open the outer surface or removing the closure option. This is because some applications require a passage for a sealant, others do not. In this way, the channel element opens up a wider range of applications. If the groove ends or tapers off at a distance from the further groove, the material required is reduced without significantly impairing the seal.
[0015] The channel can have a base surface that is at least substantially parallel and opposite the grating and / or flat. The base surface facilitates installation and increases stability. The base surface can be widened relative to the grating by means of opposing projections of the channel. In particular, the grating is at least partially non-removable from the channel or is firmly connected to the channel. Alternatively or additionally, the grating can be designed to be at least partially removable, e.g. at the abutting surface. This improves installation, anchoring, and the stability of the channel. The channel is preferably made from a polymer concrete, i.e. preferably comprising polymer(s) or synthetic resin(s) and silicon dioxide(ies). Polymer concrete is mechanically more stable, smoother to produce, more waterproof, frost-resistant, and lighter than typical concrete materials without a significant polymer content.
[0016] The object is also achieved by a gutter run with at least two of the gutter elements, e.g. wherein the abutting surface of the first gutter element abuts against a corresponding abutting surface of the second gutter element or is arranged thereon. The groove of the first gutter element can have a seal that touches the corresponding abutting surface and / or the recess and the further groove of the first gutter element can be provided with a sealing means that touches the second gutter element. The corresponding abutting surface can have the recess, the groove and / or the further groove. The gutter run can be well sealed at the transition between two abutting surfaces thanks to the groove and the recess. The sealing means can comprise a solvent-resistant, pasty, hardening and / or at least temporarily moldable means. The sealing means can be introduced into the recess and / or the further groove from the inner surface.
[0017] In the context of the above-described and following disclosure, the abbreviation "resp." is a short form for "respectively" and is intended to indicate alternative, essentially equivalent and / or synonymous features or terms in order to better convey the idea or meaning of a feature or term. "Respectively" can always be replaced with "and / or." The invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the attached schematic drawings. In these drawings:
[0018] Fig. 1 shows a gutter element in a view of an abutting surface;
[0019] Fig. 2 shows another channel element in a view of an abutment surface; and
[0020] Fig. 3 a gutter string with two gutter elements in a plan view.
[0021] In the following description, the same reference numerals are used for identical and equivalent parts. Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 each show a channel element 1 with a channel 10 made predominantly of polymer concrete, which is at least substantially mirror-symmetrical to a vertical plane V. Therefore, the singular is used in the description of the features, although multiple features are usually present due to the symmetry.
[0022] The channel element 1 of Figs. 1 and 2 is suitable for draining a heavy-duty traffic area and for driving over it, and has a grating 50 covering the channel 10 on an upper side 18. The channel 10 is elongated and has an elongated U-shaped inner surface 12 for conducting liquid therein and, on the front side visible at the front, an abutment surface 22 for a sealable transition between two adjacent channels 10. A not-shown, opposite end side of the channel 10 has a further abutment surface 102 corresponding to the abutment surface.
[0023] The abutting surface 22 of Figs. 1 and 2 has a recess 24 formed as a shoulder adjacent to the inner surface 12. The abutting surface 22 further has a groove 30 adjacent to the recess 24 and at a constant distance from the inner surface 12, the groove 30 following the course of the recess 24. The groove 30 and the recess 24 run completely in the same direction and each have a U-shape corresponding to the inner surface 12. It should be noted that the groove 30 would follow the course of the recess 24 not only with a constant spacing from the inner surface 12 or a course in the same direction to the recess 24, but also with a "substantially" or "partially" similar direction or a constant distance. However, the groove 30 and the recess 24 do not merge into one another and run adjacent to and separately from one another. One end 32 of the groove 30 is spaced from the top side 18 by a distance of 34.The recess 24 borders the inner surface 12 over its entire length, is spaced 28 from the upper side 18 at its end or outlet 26, where it borders on a further groove 36 of the abutting surface 22 and simultaneously merges into it. The distance 28 is preferably smaller than the distance 34. The further groove 36 is U- or V-shaped in cross-section and, starting from the recess 24, runs in a straight line at an angle 42 of 30° with respect to a top-side plane 40 in the direction of an outer surface 14 arranged facing away from the recess 24 or in the direction of the plane 40. The groove 30 is spaced 52 from the further groove 36 or ends at a distance 52 from it.
[0024] Fig. 1 and 2 differ only in the design of the further groove 36. In Figure 1, the further groove 36 ends away from the recess 24 at the end 38 with a distance 44 of 1 mm from the outer surface 14 in order to form a thin skin 48 for knocking out. The further groove 36 therefore does not lead away from the recess 24 all the way to the outer surface 14, but does provide an opportunity to create an opening. In Figure 2, the further groove 36 leads away from the recess 24 all the way to the outer surface 14, i.e. does not end before it, and is provided with a closure option 46, which can be detachable or destructible, for example. The closure option 46 has a bore or detent approximately in the middle of the further groove 36, into which an insert / plug (not shown) can be inserted, which can detachably close the further groove 36 at the transition.
[0025] The channel 10 of Figs. 1 and 2 has a flat bottom surface 16 arranged parallel and opposite the grate 50. The bottom surface 16 is widened relative to the grate 50, for example, by projections 20 for good anchoring. The flanks or outer surfaces 14 preferably have opposite and / or lateral recesses 54 or pockets for anchoring the channel 10.
[0026] Fig. 3 shows two gutter elements 1, 100 abutting against each other at their ends to form a gutter line 200. An abutting surface 22 of a gutter 10 of the first gutter element 1 abuts against a corresponding abutting surface 102 of a gutter 101 of the second gutter element 10 to form a sealable or sealed transition by means of a seal 103 and sealing means 104 touching both abutting surfaces 22, 102. Each upper side 18, 106 is covered with a water-permeable grating 50, 108. Two projections 20, 107 with an outer surface 14, 105 protrude laterally from each gutter 10, 101. List of Reference Symbols
