Description

[0001] ADAPTER PART FOR SELECTIVELY CONNECTING DIFFERENT COUPLING RODS TO A CARRIAGE OF A LIFTING AND SLIDING ELEMENT

[0002] The present invention relates to a universal adapter part with which coupling rods with different cross-sections or with different cross-sectional geometries can be connected to a carriage of a lift-and-slide element such as a lift-and-slide door or a lift-and-slide window.

[0003] As is known, lift-and-slide elements can be moved from a lowered position, in which the lift-and-slide element is immovable, to a raised position, in which the lift-and-slide element can be moved along a floor-mounted guide rail. To enable such a lift-and-slide element to be moved from its raised position to its lowered position and vice versa, such lift-and-slide elements typically have a fitting with a connecting rod arrangement, via which the operating lever of the lift-and-slide element is coupled in a drive-effective manner to a lifting device of the lift-and-slide element for raising and lowering the same. The movement of the operating lever is thus transmitted via the connecting rod arrangement to the lifting device, allowing the lift-and-slide element to be raised or lowered as required.

[0004] The lifting device in question for raising and lowering the lifting / sliding element is usually part of a so-called carriage, which is concealed in a receiving groove formed on the underside of the lifting / sliding element. More precisely, the receiving groove on the underside of such a lifting / sliding element usually contains two or more carriages, via which the lifting / sliding element rests on the floor-side guide rail.Accordingly, the carriages arranged in the receiving groove of the lifting-sliding element must be coupled to one another in a drive-effective manner so that the actuating movement emanating from the actuating lever, which is transmitted from the actuating lever via the drive rod arrangement to a carriage and in particular to its lifting device, can be transmitted simultaneously to all other carriages and in particular to their lifting devices so that the lifting-sliding element can be lifted evenly without tilting.

[0005] Depending on the profile of the respective sash, different connecting or coupling rods with different cross-sectional geometries are typically used to connect the individual carriages of a lift-and-slide element. Depending on the cross-sectional geometry of the respective coupling rod, different precautions must be taken to connect or couple the respective coupling rod at both ends to a respective carriage.

[0006] Since coupling rods with a circular or square cross-section, or with a rectangular cross-section with different side lengths, are typically used to connect two carriages, at least two different connecting elements are usually required to connect the respective coupling rod to the carriage. Since the coupling rods with a rectangular cross-section are installed in a vertical or upright orientation or a horizontal or flat orientation, depending on the sash profile, three different connecting elements are usually required to accommodate the respective coupling rod ends. The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a universally usable adapter part by means of which coupling rods with different cross-sectional geometries, in particular with a circular or square cross-section or with a rectangular cross-section, can be coupled to the carriage of a lifting-sliding element in different orientations, as required.

[0007] This object is achieved with an adapter part having the features of claim 1 and in particular in that the at least one receiving channel, viewed in cross section, has a circular or square first channel section for receiving one end of the first coupling rod and a rectangular second channel section for receiving one end of the second coupling rod in a first orientation of the second coupling rod, as well as a rectangular third channel section tilted or inclined relative to the rectangular second channel section for receiving the end of the second coupling rod in a second orientation of the second coupling rod, in which the second coupling rod is tilted or inclined relative to the first orientation, preferably by 90°.

[0008] According to the invention, it is therefore provided that the adapter part has at least three channel sections with different cross-sectional geometries for receiving the respective coupling rod. The three channel sections can preferably lie in one plane, with respect to which the three channel sections are mirror-symmetrical. The first channel section has a round or square cross-sectional geometry that is complementary to the cross-section of a coupling rod with a circular or square cross-section. The second channel section, on the other hand, has a rectangular cross-sectional geometry that is complementary to the cross-section of a coupling rod with a rectangular cross-section. The third channel section also has a rectangular cross-sectional geometry that is complementary to the cross-section of the rectangular coupling rod; however, the third channel section is tilted or angled relative to the second channel section.inclined, specifically by 90°. For example, the second channel section can be oriented vertically or upright when the adapter part is installed, whereas the third channel section can be tilted by 90° relative to the second channel section and thus be oriented horizontally or flat. Depending on the profile geometry of the wing of the respective lift-and-slide element, coupling rods with a rectangular cross-section can be inserted into the second or third channel section in different orientations and accommodated by the adapter part.

[0009] Since the universal adapter part according to the invention allows coupling rods with different cross-sectional geometries and in different orientations to be coupled to a carriage of a lift-and-slide element, there is no need to provide different connecting elements. Rather, it is possible to equip the carriages with the adapter part according to the invention at the factory. Since a coupling rod with a different cross-sectional geometry is required during final assembly of a lift-and-slide element depending on the sash profile, no different connecting parts are required during final assembly to couple the respective coupling rod to the carriage. Rather, the most common coupling rods can be inserted into the channel sections of the adapter part according to the invention, so that no different connecting parts need to be kept on hand during final assembly.

[0010] In the following, preferred embodiments of the invention will be discussed; further embodiments can also arise from the dependent claims, the description of the figures and the figures themselves. Thus, it is fundamentally possible to design the three channel sections in such a way that they merge into one another and thus together form a single receiving channel in the adapter part; according to a preferred embodiment, however, it can be provided that the adapter part comprises two receiving channels separated from one another by an intermediate wall. In other words, the at least one receiving channel can comprise a first receiving channel and a second receiving channel separated from it by an intermediate wall. In this case, the round or square first channel section can correspond to or form the first receiving channel and the rectangular second channel section can correspond to or form the second receiving channel together with the rectangular third channel section.form this.

[0011] For example, the rectangular second channel section can intersect or cross the rectangular third channel section, in particular at an angle of 90°. For example, the rectangular second channel section can merge into the rectangular third channel section at one of its two ends, so that the two rectangular channel sections together form the second receiving channel. In this case, the rectangular second channel section can have a vertical or upright orientation, and the rectangular third channel section can have a horizontal or flat orientation, so that the second receiving channel has a cross-sectional geometry that corresponds to the shape of the capital letter "T," although the "T" is preferably upside down or rotated by 180° when the adapter part is installed.

[0012] If, according to the above explanations, the second receiving channel has the shape of an upside-down "T" when viewed in cross-section, the first channel section can be located closer to the rectangular second channel section than to the rectangular third channel section when the adapter part is installed. In other words, in this case, the round or square first channel section can be further away from the end of the rectangular second channel section where it transitions into the rectangular third channel section than from the opposite end of the rectangular second channel section. When installed orWhen the adapter part is attached to a carriage, the first channel section and thus the first receiving channel is located above the second receiving channel, which is composed of the rectangular second channel section and the rectangular third channel section and has a cross-sectional shape corresponding to an upside-down "T".

[0013] If, however, the three channel sections each form a separate receiving channel, then, for example, the rectangular second channel section can be located between the round or square first channel section and the rectangular third channel section. The same applies to the embodiment in which the rectangular second channel section merges into the rectangular third channel section at one end; in this case, too, the rectangular second channel section can be located between the round or square first channel section and the rectangular third channel section. To be more precise, the rectangular second channel section is located for the most part or entirely between the round or square first channel section and the rectangular third channel section.for the most part between the round or square first channel section and the rectangular third channel section, since in this embodiment the area of the second channel section which it shares with the rectangular third channel section is not located between the first channel section and the rectangular third channel section, but in the area of the rectangular third channel section.

[0014] In order to be able to secure a coupling rod inserted into the vertically or uprightly oriented rectangular second channel section, the adapter part can have two coaxially aligned through-openings that open into the rectangular second channel section. It can preferably be provided that the axis with respect to which the through-openings are aligned coaxially to one another is oriented perpendicular to the plane with respect to which the three channel sections are mirror-symmetrical. In order to be able to secure a coupling rod inserted into the rectangular second channel section, a locking pin can thus, for example, be pressed into the through-openings, which then extends through an opening formed in the coupling rod, whereby the coupling rod is firmly connected to the adapter part and via this to the carriage on which the adapter part is provided.Alternatively, a coupling rod inserted into the rectangular second channel section can also be secured by inserting a screw through the two through holes and screwing it in place with a nut.

[0015] According to yet another embodiment, the adapter part can have at least one opening formed with an internal thread, which opens into the rectangular third channel section. In order to secure a coupling rod inserted into the rectangular third channel section, a threaded pin or a grub screw can be screwed into the threaded opening in question in the adapter part, so that the end of the coupling rod inserted into the adapter part can be clamped therein by means of the threaded pin.

[0016] Even if the rectangular second channel section merges into the rectangular third channel section at one end, a coupling rod inserted into the rectangular second channel section can be clamped therein by screwing a threaded pin into the threaded opening. In this case, it is only necessary to ensure that the axis of the threaded opening lies in the same plane with respect to which the three channel sections are mirror-symmetrical. According to yet another embodiment, at least one further through-opening can be formed in the intermediate wall, which optionally separates the round or square first channel section from the rectangular second channel section, which is aligned coaxially with the at least one threaded opening that opens into the rectangular third channel section. If in this case a suitably long threaded pin is screwed into the at least one threaded opening, it can extend through the through-opening in question in the partition wall into the round or square first channel section in order to be able to clamp a round or square coupling rod received by the round or square first channel section by means of the threaded pin.

[0017] In order to be able to connect the adapter part to a carriage, according to a further embodiment, the adapter part can form a coupling device for coupling to a carriage at an end opposite the end towards which the at least one receiving channel is open. The coupling device can, for example, be a through-opening through which a hinge pin can be inserted and pressed into it in order to be able to hinge the adapter part to the side cheeks of a carriage. Since the coupling device is located at the end of the adapter part and thus not in the area of the channel sections, there is sufficient space at this point on the adapter part to form the two previously mentioned coaxially aligned through-openings, which open into the rectangular second channel section.

[0018] Alternatively, the coupling device can be, for example, a cylindrical hinge pin that is formed integrally with the adapter part and protrudes from it on both sides. The adapter part can thus be pivotally connected to the side walls of a carriage by placing the cylindrical hinge pin in corresponding receiving openings at the end of the side walls. The adapter part is thus pivotally connected to the side walls of the carriage and can thus compensate for any unevenness in the floor encountered by the carriage.

[0019] In the following, the invention will now be described purely by way of example with reference to the drawings in which:

[0020] Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of an adapter part according to the invention on a carriage which is only partially shown, but which can be seen in its entirety in Fig. 2; and

[0021] Fig. 2 to 5 explain the coupling of coupling rods with different cross-sectional geometries and different alignments with the carriage.

[0022] The following section first explains the basic structure of a carriage 10 with an integrated lifting device 12 and its mode of operation with reference to Fig. 2. The carriage 10 has two rollers 14 arranged between two parallel side walls 16 and rotatably mounted thereon. Furthermore, the carriage 10 has a base element 18 that can be attached to the underside of a wing (not shown), in which a guide slot 20 is formed in the form of an obliquely aligned slot. An axle 22, which is attached to the two side walls 16, extends through this slot.

[0023] If the operating lever (not shown) is rotated while the sash is stationary, this rotary movement is transmitted via a connecting rod arrangement (also not shown) and a deflection device 24 of the carriage 10 to the two side cheeks 16 of the carriage 10, resulting in the carriage being displaced horizontally while the sash is stationary. This, in turn, results in the position of the axis 22 changing within the inclined guide slot 20, allowing the sash, supported on the base part 18, to be raised or lowered as desired.

[0024] In order to transmit the previously described horizontal movement of the side cheeks 16 to another carriage provided on the underside of the wing, it is necessary to connect the two carriages to one another in a drive-effective manner with a coupling rod 28. For this purpose, the adapter part 26 according to the invention is used, which in turn is coupled to the carriages at the ends of the side cheeks 16, in particular in an articulated manner. The adapter part 26 according to the invention will therefore be described in more detail below with reference to Fig. 1.

[0025] The adapter part 26 is a one-piece or monolithic component in which a first receiving channel 30 and a second receiving channel 32 are formed, which extend substantially parallel to each other and are open toward a first end 34 of the adapter part 26. The first receiving channel 30 is located above the second receiving channel 32, where "above" here refers to the installed state.

[0026] In the embodiment shown here, the first receiving channel 30 is separated from the second receiving channel 32 by an intermediate wall 46. Alternatively, the two receiving channels 30, 32 can also merge into one another.

[0027] In the embodiment shown here, the first receiving channel 30 is formed by a first, circular channel section 40. The first, circular channel section 40 therefore corresponds to the first receiving channel 30. Furthermore, in the embodiment shown here, the second receiving channel 32, viewed in cross-section, has a vertically oriented channel section 36 with a rectangular cross-sectional shape and a horizontally or flatly oriented channel section 38, also with a rectangular cross-sectional shape. The two channel sections 36, 38 therefore run at right angles to one another, with the vertically or upright channel section 36 merging at its lower end into the horizontally oriented channel section 38. In a corresponding manner, the vertically oriented channel section 36 could also merge into the first receiving channel 30 at its opposite end or at the top.In this case, the adapter part 26 according to the invention would have only a single receiving channel, as already mentioned above.

[0028] Due to the fact that the vertically or upright oriented channel section 36 merges into the horizontally oriented channel section 38 at its lower end, the second receiving channel 32 has the shape of an upside-down "T" when viewed in cross section.

[0029] The entire adapter part 26 is designed to be mirror-symmetrical with respect to a central plane in which the three channel sections 36, 38, 40 are located, which means that the three channel sections 36, 38, 40 are also designed to be mirror-symmetrical with respect to the central plane in question.

[0030] As can further be seen from Fig. 1, the adapter part 26 has two coaxial through-openings 42, of which, however, only one through-opening 42 is visible due to the perspective in Fig. 2. The two through-openings 42 open into the vertically or uprightly oriented channel section 36 with a rectangular cross-sectional shape. The axis with respect to which the two through-openings 42 are coaxial is oriented perpendicular to the center plane with respect to which the three channel sections 36, 38, 40 are mirror-symmetrical. In addition, the adapter part 26 according to the invention has two threaded openings 44 on its underside, which open into the horizontally or flatly oriented channel section 38 with a rectangular cross-sectional shape.Although not apparent from the figures, two through-openings are formed in the intermediate wall 46, each of which is coaxially aligned with the threaded openings 44 on the underside of the adapter part 26. The two through-openings thus connect the vertically formed channel section 36 with a rectangular cross-sectional shape to the round channel section 40 and the first receiving channel 30 to the second receiving channel 32, respectively.

[0031] In order to be able to hinge the adapter part 26 to the side walls 16 of a carriage 10, the adapter part 26 has, at its second end 35, which is opposite the first end 34 toward which the receiving channels 30, 32 are open, a coupling device in the form of two cylindrical hinge pins 48, the axis of which runs perpendicular to the center plane, with respect to which the adapter part 26 is mirror-symmetrical. The hinge pins 48 can thus be received by through-openings 52 provided at the ends of the two side walls 16 of a carriage 10, in order to be able to hinge the adapter part 26 to the side walls 16 of the carriage 10.

[0032] If, for example, it is desired to connect a coupling rod 28 with a rectangular cross-section in an upright or vertical orientation to the carriage 10 via the adapter part 26, the coupling rod 28 can be inserted into the vertically or upright channel section 36 with a rectangular cross-sectional shape as shown in Fig. 2 or 4 and secured therein either with a pin 50 as shown in Fig. 2, which is inserted through the through openings 42 and a through hole formed at a free end of the coupling rod 28. Alternatively, the coupling rod 28 can be clamped in the vertically oriented channel section 36 using two threaded pins 54 as shown in Fig. 4, for which purpose the threaded pins 54 are screwed into the threaded openings 44 on the underside of the adapter part 26.

[0033] If, however, it is desired to connect a coupling rod 28 with a rectangular cross-section in a horizontal or flat orientation to the carriage 10 via the adapter part 26, this is also possible without any further precautions. For this purpose, the coupling rod 28 is inserted in a horizontal or flat orientation into the horizontally or flatly oriented channel section 38 of the second receiving channel 32 as shown in Fig. 3 and clamped therein by means of the threaded pins 54.

[0034] A coupling rod 28 with a round cross-section can also be connected to the carriage 10 via the adapter part 26 without further precautions. For this purpose, the coupling rod 28 with a round cross-section is inserted into the round channel section 40 or into the first receiving channel 30 formed thereby, as shown in Fig. 5, and is clamped firmly in the round channel section 40 by means of threaded pins 56, which are longer than the threaded pins 54. The threaded pins 56 extend through the two threaded openings 44 on the underside of the adapter part 26, the vertically aligned channel section 36, and the through openings formed in the intermediate wall 46 and separating the first receiving channel 30 from the second receiving channel 32.

[0035] By means of the adapter part 26 according to the invention, not only can coupling rods with different cross-sectional geometries and orientations be connected to the carriage 10; rather, the adapter part 26 also offers great flexibility with regard to the length of the coupling rods 28, since these can be shortened to the desired length on site due to the fact that they can be clamped to the adapter part 26.
