Description

[0001] Machine for inserting bent rod conductors, with a common inserter drive for several inserter tools and an inserter changeover drive

[0002] The invention relates to a machine for inserting bent bar conductors into a setting device, comprising

[0003] - a first insertion tool;

[0004] - an inserter actuator.

[0005] Such a machine is known from US 7,721,413 B2.

[0006] In the manufacture of electrodynamic machines, such as electric motors or electric generators, copper-containing, bent bar conductors can be used to create the stator of the electrodynamic machine. These bent bar conductors (also called "hairpins") are inserted into a setting device. The ends of the bent bar conductors are then interlaced at the ends according to a winding pattern. This interlaced stack of bent bar conductors (also called a hairpin basket) is then inserted into the stator. Neighboring bent bar conductors are then contacted with each other according to a circuit diagram, for example, by welding the bar conductor ends.

[0007] Typically, the stack of interlaced, bent conductors in the stator consists of a multitude of individually bent conductors of different shapes and / or lengths (often between approximately 200 and 400 bent conductors in total). For efficient stator production, this multitude of individual bent conductors must be inserted into the setting device as quickly as possible.

[0008] The aforementioned US 7,721,413 B2 proposes the use of an assembly for inserting bent conductor bars into a forming device with a plurality of pockets (inserting device). The assembly comprises an inserter assembly (inserting tool) to which bent conductor bars are fed. By means of an actuator device (inserting actuation drive), the bent conductor bars are then inserted individually from the inserter assembly into the forming device.

[0009] The disadvantage, however, is that the insertion assembly is only designed for a specific type (in particular, with a specific shape and / or size and / or length) of bent conductors. Since several different types of bent conductors are typically to be inserted into the forming device, either the insertion assembly must be removed and a different insertion assembly installed, or the forming device must be transferred to another machine with a different insertion assembly. This, however, is very complex.

[0010] The object of the invention is to provide a machine for inserting bent rod conductors into a setting device, which is of simple construction and with which bent rod conductors of different types can be inserted into the setting device quickly and easily.

[0011] This object is achieved according to the invention by a machine of the type mentioned at the outset, which is characterized in that the machine further comprises

[0012] - at least one additional insertion tool;

[0013] - and an inserter change drive for moving the inserter tools relative to the inserter actuating drive, so that the inserter actuating drive can selectively interact with each of the inserter tools.

[0014] The invention therefore proposes to equip the machine with at least one additional inserting tool and an inserting change drive.

[0015] The at least one further insertion tool is typically designed such that it can grip and insert bent bar conductors of a different type than the first insertion tool. As a rule, at least two, preferably at least three or at least four, different types of bar conductors can be gripped and inserted using the insertion tools of the machine according to the invention. Typically, each insertion tool of the machine is designed to grip and insert a different type of bent bar conductor. The different types of bent bar conductors differ, for example, in length, size or shape. For inserting the bent bar conductors into the setting device, a plurality of bent bar conductors of different types can thus be provided in a single machine and inserted into the setting device. This shortens the insertion process, as there is no need for time-consuming replacement of the insertion tool or transfer of the setting device to another machine for inserting bent rod conductors.

[0016] The inserting tools are moved relative to the inserting actuation drive using the inserting changeover drive. The inserting tools are usually moved on the machine using the inserting changeover drive. This movement occurs in such a way that each of the inserting tools can be moved into a position (setting position) in which it can be actuated by the inserting actuation drive and insert its rod conductors into the setting device. Thanks to the inserting changeover drive and the associated possibility of relative movement of the inserting tools, only a single inserting actuation drive is required to actuate all inserting tools (one after the other). This eliminates the need for additional inserting actuation drives, enabling a simpler machine design.

[0017] By utilizing the invention, it is no longer necessary to use multiple machines for inserting curved conductor rods into the setting device, nor to use a complicated and bulky machine structure. Instead, a large number of curved conductor rods of different types can be quickly and easily inserted into the setting device using a single, simply constructed machine.

[0018] A respective insertion tool (also called a "tacker tool") typically comprises a punch (insertion tool punch) that can engage a bent conductor rod to be inserted and can push the bent conductor rod into the rod holders of the setting device, wherein the punch is guided in a punch guide of the insertion tool, for example, by suitable guides. The punch is moved by the insertion actuation drive, which engages directly or indirectly with the punch.

[0019] The bent conductor bars can, for example, be insulated flat copper wires whose insulation has been removed at the ends to expose the flat copper wire. The ends of the exposed flat copper wires can then be joined together by laser welding once they have been inserted into the setting device and interlaced. The insulation material of the flat copper wires can, for example, be a plastic insulation layer.

[0020] In a preferred embodiment of the machine according to the invention, it is provided that the inserting tools are rigidly coupled to one another.

[0021] This allows the inserting tools to be easily moved together using the inserting changeover drive. In particular, no additional inserting changeover drives are required to move the inserting tools individually. The rigid coupling between the inserting tools is structurally simple to implement.

[0022] In a preferred development of this embodiment, the inserting tools can be moved together along a common guide by means of the inserting change drive.

[0023] The inserting tools can be moved together along the guide with great precision. As long as the shared guide limits the degrees of freedom of the inserting tools, they are always correctly positioned, especially for interaction with the inserting actuation drive. Furthermore, the inserting changeover drive only needs to specify or drive a single movement in the direction of the shared guide. An advantageous further development of this design is characterized by the shared guide running horizontally.

[0024] The horizontal movement of the inserting tools is simple and requires little force. Furthermore, the inserting actuation drive, whose actuation mechanism typically operates perpendicular to the horizontally running common guide, can interact seamlessly with each of the inserting tools. Complicated and time-consuming (vertical) alignment of the inserting tools or the inserting actuation drive is eliminated. The inserting tools can be changed and used quickly.

[0025] A further development in which the inserting tools are arranged in a linear array is also preferred.

[0026] This simplifies the mechanical structure.

[0027] Particularly preferred is an embodiment in which the insertion tools on the machine are individually replaceable, in particular wherein the insertion tools are reversibly coupled to one another.

[0028] This allows the machine to be easily adapted to different manufacturing tasks, each of which requires a different set of bent bar conductors assembled using different insertion tools.

[0029] In a further preferred embodiment, the inserter actuating drive is fixed to the machine.

[0030] This design is particularly simple. Furthermore, the insertion process can always take place at the same location in the machine, regardless of the selected insertion tool, which facilitates the alignment of the insertion device within the machine.

[0031] Furthermore, an embodiment is preferred in which the inserter change drive is fixed to the machine.

[0032] This design is particularly simple. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the inserter change drive comprises a motor-driven shaft with a coupling element, in particular a gear, which engages a toothed rail composed of toothed rail sections on the inserter tools.

[0033] This design is particularly robust and easy to maintain. The gearwheel transmits the movement of the motor-driven shaft to the toothed rail. Furthermore, particularly precise movement of the insertion tools is possible. The toothed rail is particularly easy to set up and can be formed modularly from the individual toothed rail sections on the insertion tools. This means that no separate toothed rail is necessary, and the resulting toothed rail is always sufficiently long. In other embodiments, it is also possible, for example, to couple the inserter change drive to the first insertion tool, and in turn to couple all other insertion tools directly or indirectly (similar to a train) to the first insertion tool; in such a case, the drive can also be via a toothed belt or a screw drive.

[0034] An embodiment is also preferred in which the insertion tools are each designed with their own magazine for bent rod conductors.

[0035] The corresponding conductor bars can then be stored in the magazine at the respective insertion tool and are immediately available for a rapid sequence of insertion processes. In particular, there is no need to wait for individual, recently produced conductor bars to be transferred from an upstream bending machine. If one of the magazines is empty, it can simply be refilled or replaced with a full magazine on the machine, and the insertion of bent conductor bars into the setting device can then continue. Typically, magazines are refilled or replaced while the machine is at a standstill. However, with special designs, it is also possible to refill a magazine with bent conductor bars during operation (while a setting device is being filled). In a preferred development of this embodiment, a respective magazine has a storage rail for rod conductors that runs obliquely to the direction of gravity and obliquely to the horizontal.

[0036] Driven by gravity, the ladders can slide along the ladder storage rail automatically once a leading ladder has been removed from the magazine and inserted into the insertion device. Furthermore, the angled orientation of the ladder storage rail facilitates the feeding of ladders into the insertion device using a feed mechanism, as the feeding is additionally assisted by gravity.

[0037] A further development is also preferred in which a respective magazine further comprises its own feed mechanism, with which a respective foremost bar conductor of the magazine is conveyed or pre-tensioned into a position suitable for interaction with the insertion tool for insertion into the setting device, in particular wherein the respective own feed mechanism comprises a spring or a pneumatic actuation or a hydraulic actuation or an electric drive.

[0038] This ensures that the bent conductor rods (and especially the leading conductor rod) are reliably positioned correctly, allowing them to be easily inserted into the setting device using the insertion tool and the insertion actuator. These feeding mechanisms are easy to implement and have proven particularly effective in practice.

[0039] An alternative development is also preferred, which is characterized in that the machine has a common feed mechanism, which cooperates with the insertion tool selected for interaction with the insertion actuation drive and moved accordingly, and in that, with the selected insertion tool, the frontmost bar conductor of the magazine is conveyed or pretensioned by the common feed mechanism into a position suitable for interaction with the insertion tool for insertion into the setting device, in particular wherein the common feed mechanism comprises a pneumatic actuation or a hydraulic actuation or an electric drive. The use of only one common feed mechanism reduces the structural complexity and often also the space required by the machine.Furthermore, the common feed mechanism ensures that the bent conductor rods (and especially the leading conductor rod) are reliably positioned correctly, allowing them to be easily inserted into the setting device by the insertion tool and the insertion actuator. These feed mechanisms are easy to implement and have proven particularly effective in practice.

[0040] A further particularly preferred embodiment provides that the insertion tools are designed for inserting different types of bent bar conductors.

[0041] This allows for particularly fast production and insertion of the bent bar conductors into the setting device, as the insertion tools can already insert different types of hairpins, often requiring fewer or no modifications to the insertion tools (exchanging / replacing / adding insertion tools on the machine). Generally, no modifications to the insertion tools on the machine are required while a setting device is being filled. Alternatively, it is also possible to use two or more insertion tools for inserting the same type of bent bar conductor, for example, if a particularly large number of bar conductors of this type are to be inserted into the setting device.

[0042] A preferred embodiment also includes a rotary holder for the setting device, on which the setting device can be held and with which the setting device can be rotated about a setting device axis. The setting device can be placed and secured on the rotary holder. The rotatability of the setting device about the setting device rotation axis allows a variety of different positions of the setting device for inserting the bar conductors.

[0043] A preferred further development of this embodiment is characterized in that by rotating the rotary holder, different bar conductor receptacles of the setting device can be positioned under the insertion tool cooperating with the insertion actuation drive.

[0044] Predetermined positions on the setting device, corresponding to the different conductor receptacles, can thus be easily made accessible for the bent conductors by rotating the rotating holder, especially in rapid succession. The conductors can then be easily inserted into the existing conductor receptacle by the insertion drive, which interacts with the corresponding insertion tool. Moving or shifting the machine is no longer necessary.

[0045] Further advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description and the drawings. Likewise, the above-mentioned and further-described features can be used individually or in combination in any desired manner. The embodiments shown and described are not intended to be exhaustive, but rather are exemplary in nature for describing the invention.

[0055] Fig. 1a shows a first embodiment of a machine 1 according to the invention for inserting bent bar conductors 2 into a setting device 3. A front side 4 of the machine 1 is shown in a perspective view.

[0056] In the embodiment shown here, the machine 1 comprises a machine frame 5. A first inserting tool 6 and five additional inserting tools 6a-6e (inserting tool modules) are arranged on the machine frame 5. An inserting actuating drive 7 is permanently connected to the machine frame 5. Likewise, an inserting changeover drive (concealed by the machine frame 5) is permanently connected to the machine frame 5.

[0057] In the embodiment shown here, each of the insertion tools 6, 6a-6e has its own magazine 8, each filled with bent conductor rods 2. In the perspective shown here, the magazines of the insertion tools 6a-6e are concealed by the insertion tools 6, 6a-6e and the machine frame 5. The conductor rods 6 are stored in the magazine 8 on a storage rail 9. The storage rail 9 runs obliquely to the direction of gravity RG and obliquely to a horizontal HO. The bent conductor rods 2 can be fed to the respective insertion tool 6, 6a-6e via the respective magazine 8.Thanks to the inclined bearing rail 9, the bent rod conductors 2 can be fed to the corresponding insertion tool 6, 6a-6e by gravity alone and brought into a position in which the corresponding insertion tool 6, 6a-6e interacts with the insertion actuation drive 7, thereby inserting the bent rod conductor 2 into the setting device 3. In the embodiment shown here, rollers 10 are attached to the top of the insertion tools 6, 6a-6e. The insertion tools 6, 6a-6e are suspended in a guide rail 11 on the top of the machine frame 5. The rollers 10 rest on the guide rail 11. The rollers 10 can be used to simplify the movement of the insertion tools 6, 6a-6e along the guide rail 11 (and parallel to the horizontal HO). The insertion tools 6, 6a- 6e are arranged linearly and rigidly coupled to each other.

[0058] The first insertion tool 6 is in the insertion position. In other words, the first insertion tool 6 is arranged such that the inserter actuation drive 7 can interact with the first insertion tool 6. When the inserter actuation drive 7 is actuated, a bent bar conductor 2 is inserted from the first insertion tool 6 into the insertion device 3. Another bent bar conductor 2 can then be fed from the magazine 8 to the first insertion tool 6 and positioned such that the additional bent bar conductor 2 can then be inserted into the insertion device 3 again. When the magazine 8 of the first insertion tool 6 is empty or when a different type of bent bar conductor 2 is required, the desired additional inserter tool 6a-6e can be moved into the insertion position by means of the inserter change drive.

[0059] In the embodiment shown here, the setting device 3 is arranged on a rotating holder 12. The rotating holder 12 holds the setting device 3 in place. The rotating holder is rotatable through 360°. By means of the rotating holder 12, the setting device 3 can be rotated about a setting device axis SVA. Thus, if a bent bar conductor 2 is inserted into a free bar conductor receptacle of the setting device 3, the setting device 3 is rotated with the rotating holder 12 so that another bent bar conductor 2 can be inserted into the next free bar conductor receptacle of the setting device 3. It is not necessary to move the machine frame 5 of the machine 1 in order to insert further bent bar conductors 2 into the setting device 3. Fig. 1b shows an enlarged section of the machine 1 according to the invention from Fig. 1a in the area between the first insertion tool 6 and the insertion actuation drive 7.

[0060] The insertion tools 6, 6a, 6b are suspended in the guide rail 11. The rollers 10 of the insertion tools 6, 6a, 6b rest on the guide rail 11. The first insertion tool 6 and the insertion actuation drive 7 are located directly above one another. A clamping element 13 (hold-down device) of the insertion actuation drive 7 rests on the roller 10 of the first insertion tool 6.

[0061] When the inserter actuating drive 7 is actuated to interact with the first inserter tool 6, an actuating part 14 of the inserter actuating drive 7 is moved downward (here in the direction of gravity RG). The guide rail 11 has a movable rail segment 15. The movable rail segment 15 is moved downward during the downward movement of the actuating part 14. The roller 10 of the first inserter tool is clamped without play between the clamping element 13 and the movable rail segment 15 so that the roller 10 does not lift off during the downward movement.

[0062] Fig. 2a shows a second embodiment of a machine 1 according to the invention. A rear side 16 of the machine 1 is shown in a perspective view. Since the embodiment of machine 1 shown here is similar to the embodiment in Fig. 1a, only the essential differences will be explained in more detail here.

[0063] In the embodiment shown here, the machine 1 comprises the machine frame 5 (which is only partially shown in Fig. 2a), the inserting tools 6, 6a-6e, the inserting actuating drive 7 which is permanently connected to the machine 1, and the inserting changing drive 17 which is permanently connected to the machine 1.

[0064] In the embodiment shown here, each of the insertion tools 6, 6a-6e has its own magazine 8, 8a-8e, each filled with bent conductor bars 2. The insertion tools 6, 6a-6d are arranged here via guide handle elements 18 on two common guides 19. The common guides 19 run horizontally (i.e., parallel to the horizontal HO). The insertion tools 6, 6a-6d are arranged and lined up linearly on the common guides 19. Toothed rail sections 20 (toothed rail segments) are provided on the insertion tools in the area between the two guide handle elements.

[0065] 18. When the insertion tools are connected to one another, the toothed rail sections 20 form a toothed rail 21, as shown here. For the sake of clarity, the teeth of the toothed rail 21 are only shown at the ends of the toothed rail sections 20.

[0066] The inserter change drive 17 comprises a protective cover 22 and a motor-driven shaft with a gear (the shaft and gear are covered by the protective cover 22). By means of the inserter change drive 17, the inserter tools 6, 6a-6d can be moved along the common guides

[0067] 19. For this purpose, the gear of the inserter change drive 17 engages with the toothed rail 21.

[0068] Fig. 2b shows an enlarged section of the machine 1 according to the invention from Fig. 2a in the area in which the further inserting tool 6e is inserted into the machine 1.

[0069] In the embodiment shown here, an insertion tool is being replaced. Previously, an insertion tool was removed from the machine 1 (not shown in detail). The insertion tool 6e is currently being inserted into the machine 1. During insertion, the guide handle elements 18 on the insertion tool 6e are pushed into the common guides 19. The insertion tools 6d, 6e can be connected to one another (rigidly coupled) via tabs 23. The connection between the insertion tools 6d, 6e is reversible. After coupling, the toothed rail section 20 of the insertion tool 6e forms the toothed rail 21 together with the toothed rail sections 20 of the other insertion tools 6c, 6d. Fig. 3 shows a third embodiment of a machine 1 according to the invention. A section of the machine 1 with several inserting tools 6c-6e is shown in a front view.

[0070] In the embodiment shown here, the insertion tools 6c, 6d are already rigidly coupled to one another. The insertion tools 6d, 6e are not yet coupled to one another. The insertion tool 6d comprises the tab 23 for coupling the insertion tool 6e. The insertion tool 6e has a counterpart 24 for coupling the tab 23 of the insertion tool 6d. For coupling, the insertion tools 6d, 6e are brought together and coupled at the tab 23 and the counterpart 24 by screw connections. The coupling is reversible, so that the insertion tools 6c-6e can be coupled or uncoupled as desired.

[0071] Fig. 4 schematically shows a fourth embodiment of a machine 1 according to the invention. A section of the machine 1 in the area of the insertion tool 6a and the setting device 3 is shown in a side view.

[0072] The insertion tool 6a here comprises the magazine 8a. The magazine 8a is partially concealed by a column element 25 of the insertion tool 6a. A plurality of bent conductor rods 2 are arranged in the magazine 8a. The bent conductor rods 2 are transported by means of a feed mechanism 26a dedicated to the insertion tool 6a, here an electric drive 36 (simply represented by the lightning symbol), into a position in which the insertion tool 6a can insert a frontmost (bent) conductor rod 2a into the setting device 3. Four bent conductor rods 2 are already inserted into the setting device 3.

[0073] When the insertion actuation drive (not shown in detail) interacts with the insertion tool 6a, an insertion tool punch 27 of the insertion tool 6a is displaced downward. In doing so, the foremost bar conductor 2a is also displaced downward through a bar conductor guide 28. To prevent the foremost bar conductor 2a from passing through the bar conductor guide 28 in free fall and potentially being damaged, a fork tool 29 is formed on the insertion tool 6a, which engages underneath the foremost bar conductor 2a. The foremost bar conductor 2a can then be guided through the bar conductor guide 28, with the bar conductor being held from above (by the insertion tool punch 27) and from below (by the fork tool 29) over a large part of the path.Shortly before the end of the insertion of the foremost rod conductor 2a into the rod conductor receptacle 30, the fork tool 29 is lifted (for example by a cam control, not shown in detail), so that the foremost rod conductor 2a is no longer gripped by the fork tool 29 and can then be fully inserted into the rod conductor receptacle 30.

[0074] The insertion tool punch 27 and the fork tool 29 then return to their starting position. Another bent conductor rod 2 can then be moved from the magazine 8a by means of the feed mechanism 26 into the position in which the additional bent conductor rod 2 can be used for insertion into the setting device 3. However, the setting device 3 is first rotated to position the next free conductor rod receptacle 30 so that the additional bent conductor rod 2 can be inserted into the free conductor rod receptacle 30.

[0075] Fig. 5a schematically shows a fifth embodiment of a machine 1 according to the invention. The machine 1 is shown in a plan view.

[0076] The machine 1 comprises the machine frame 5, the first inserting tool 6, the further inserting tools 6a, 6b, the inserting actuating drive 7 and the inserting changing drive 17.

[0077] The insertion tools 6, 6a, 6b are all designed for different types of bent conductors (illustrated here by the different sizes). Accordingly, the magazines 8, 8a, 8b are also adapted to the different types of bent conductors. The magazines 8, 8a, 8b each have their own feed mechanism 26a, here a spring 37. The insertion tools 6, 6a, 6b have already been moved by the inserter change drive 17, so that the inserter actuation drive 7 can interact with the insertion tool 6 to insert bent conductors into the setting device 3.

[0078] Fig. 5b schematically shows a sixth embodiment of a machine 1 according to the invention. The machine 1 is shown in a plan view.

[0079] The machine 1 comprises the machine frame 5, the first inserting tool 6, the further inserting tools 6a, 6b, the inserting actuating drive 7 and the inserting changing drive 17.

[0080] In the embodiment shown here, the magazines 8, 8a, 8b have a common feed mechanism 26b. The common feed mechanism 26b can be used to preload the respective bar conductors of the magazine of the insertion tool, which also interacts with the insertion actuation drive 7. The common feed mechanism 26b acts here on the magazine 8 of the first insertion tool 6.

[0081] Fig. 6a schematically shows a curved conductor rod 2 such as can be used in the machine according to the invention. The curved conductor rod 2 is shown in a frontal view. The conductor rod 2 is clearly visible in the frontal view as being bent into a substantially U-shape.

[0082] The bent bar conductor 2 comprises an insulated bar conductor part 31 (dotted area) with an insulation layer 32 and two stripped bar conductor parts 33 (white area), each of which exposes a core 34 of the bent bar conductor 2. The stripping can be performed using cutting tools or a laser beam. The stripped bar conductor parts 33 have somewhat smaller dimensions than the insulated bar conductor part 31. The bent bar conductor 2 can, for example, be made from an insulated flat copper wire. Accordingly, the core 34 would then be a copper core. The insulation layer 32 can, for example, be made of plastic. Fig. 6b shows a schematic side view of the bent bar conductor 2 from Fig. 6a.

[0083] The bent conductor rod 2 has a bend in its upper part in the insulated conductor rod section 31, which is inclined by approximately 30° relative to the lower part. In the side view, a narrow side 35 of the conductor rod 2 is also clearly visible.

[0084] Please note that there are a variety of types of rod conductors, which can be curved in different ways and have different sizes (lengths). The curved rod conductor 2 shown here and the other curved rod conductors shown in the figures are examples and should not be considered an exhaustive list. iste
