Description
DESCRIPTION TITLE OF THE INVENTION: STRUCTURE COMPRISING AN INSULATING GLAZING UNIT FIXED TO A WOODEN WALL AND METHOD FOR ASSEMBLING SUCH A STRUCTURE
[0001] The invention relates to a structure comprising a wooden wall and insulating glazing. The invention further relates to a method of assembling said structure.
[0002] A structure, such as a building wall, comprising an insulating glass unit and a frame is known from the prior art. The frame constitutes an intermediate element between the structure and the insulating glass unit. Generally, the frame is first installed in an opening of the structure, and then, subsequently, the insulating glass unit is inserted into it. In an alternative installation, the insulating glass unit is inserted into the frame, and then the assembly is inserted into the opening of the structure. Such a structure has the disadvantage of a complex and time-consuming installation. It is estimated that its assembly requires up to two hours or more and the intervention of two qualified people. In addition, the method requires the use of various installation elements, the management of the supply of these elements and the management of a stock of insulating glass units.
[0003] The aim of the invention is therefore to overcome the drawbacks of the prior art by proposing a structure comprising insulating glazing that is simple and quick to implement, as well as its installation method.
[0004] To do this, the invention thus relates, in its broadest sense, to a wooden structure having a first face and a second face, a wall and an opening, said opening being arranged between the first and second faces, the structure comprising insulating glazing, said insulating glazing comprising at least a first pane and a second pane arranged substantially parallel to each other, said insulating glazing having a first face and a second face, the structure comprising an adhesive joint binding the insulating glazing and the wall.
[0005] According to a first embodiment, said structure according to the invention is characterized in that the insulating glazing comprises an encapsulation arranged around its periphery, the adhesive joint being in contact with the encapsulation.
[0006] The structure according to the invention has the advantage of reducing the time required for the installation of insulating glazing. In addition, procurement is simplified because the assembly of the structure can be done in the factory. [0010] The fastening elements have the advantage of rapid assembly of the structure.
[0011] Preferably, the first face of the wall has a groove comprising the glue joint.
[0012] The groove absorbs excess glue joint when gluing the insulating glass to the wall.
[0013] Advantageously, the structure includes a sealing gasket placed around the perimeter of the opening and in contact with the insulating glazing.
[0014] Preferably, the structure comprises a first thickness of foam arranged between the insulating glazing and the glazing bead, and a second thickness of foam arranged between the insulating glazing and the wall.
[0015] The thicknesses of foam have the effect of compensating for any gaps that may exist.
[0016] Preferably, the structure comprises at least one seating wedge arranged between the insulating glazing and a lower batten, more generally between the insulating glazing and the opening.
[0017] According to a second embodiment, said structure according to the invention is characterized in that the structure comprises a profiled joint arranged between the insulating glazing and the wall.

[0029] Several embodiments of the present invention will be described below, by way of non-limiting examples, with reference to the appended figures in which: - [Fig.1] schematically illustrates a sectional view of a structure according to a first embodiment of the invention; - [Fig.2] schematically illustrates a front view of the structure illustrated in Figure 1; - [Fig.3] schematically illustrates a sectional view of a structure according to a second embodiment of the invention; - [Fig.4] schematically illustrates a front view of the structure illustrated in Figure 3 without insulating glazing; - [Fig.5] illustrates in the form of a flowchart the steps of a process for assembling the structure illustrated in figures 1 and 2. - [Fig.6] illustrates in the form of a flowchart the steps of a process for assembling the structure illustrated in figures 3 and 4.
[0030] In the embodiment(s) of the invention, an insulating glazing unit is described comprising panes or sheets of glass. Each pane may be monolithic, i.e. made up of a single sheet of material, or be composite, i.e. made up of several sheets of material between which at least one intermediate layer of adhesive material is inserted, in the case of laminated glazing units.
[0031] The sheet(s) of material may be mineral, in particular glass, having for example undergone annealing or tempering, or organic, in particular plastic such as polyvinyl butyral.
[0032] In the case of composite glazing, more generally referred to as laminated glazing, the intermediate layer preferably contains at least one thermoplastic plastic material, preferably polyvinyl butyral (PVB), ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA), and / or polyethylene terephthalate (PET). However, the thermoplastic intermediate layer may also contain, for example, polyurethane (PU), polypropylene (PP), polyacrylate, polyethylene (PE), polycarbonate (PC), polymethyl methacrylate, polyvinyl chloride, polyacetate resin, casting resins, acrylates, fluorinated ethylene-propylene, polyvinyl fluoride and / or ethylene-tetrafluoroethylene, or copolymers or mixtures thereof. The intermediate layer thermoplastic can be formed from one or more thermoplastic films superimposed according to the desired properties.
[0033] Figure 1 illustrates a sectional view of a structure 1 according to a first embodiment of the invention. The structure 1 comprises a wall 2 having an opening 3 of substantially rectangular shape. In an alternative, the opening 3 is substantially square in shape.
[0034] The structure 1 further comprises an insulating glazing unit 4 comprising two sheets of glass, also called panes, generally separated from each other by a cavity filled with gas and mounted integrally with a spacer. Such an insulating glazing unit 4 makes it possible to thermally or even acoustically insulate, from the outside, the interior of a building in which the insulating glazing unit is intended to be installed. Such an insulating glazing unit 4 is designated by different names such as double glazing, double-glazed window, or IGU, an acronym meaning “Insulated Glazing Unit” in English.
[0035] The panes of the insulating glazing 4 may be, for example, monolithic glass sheets having a thickness of between 2 and 6 mm. It may also be an assembly of two glass sheets adhesively bonded by a lamination interlayer, for example made of polyvinyl butyral, also known by the acronym PVB. This assembly makes it possible to give the pane anti-burglary and / or acoustic insulation and / or personal safety properties, for example anti-shatter. The faces of the panes may be coated with stacks of thin layers giving the insulating glazing 4 various functionalities. For example, the outer face of the panes may be coated with a self-cleaning stack containing at least one photocatalytic layer, in particular titanium oxide, in particular at least partially crystallized in anatase form and / or an anti-condensation stack comprising at least one low-emissivity layer such as a layer of a transparent conductive oxide (TCO), in particular indium tin oxide (ITO) or doped zinc oxide. The other faces of the panes may be coated with stacks of low-emissivity thin layers comprising at least one layer of silver. The panes are fixed to a spacer extending continuously along their edges. The spacer has, in particular, for. The function of creating an air gap between the two panes of glass. The air gap thus creates thermal insulation. The cold wall effect is reduced, allowing for a reduction, or even the disappearance, of condensation. In winter, heat loss is reduced and in summer, heat transfer from the outside to the inside of the building is limited. This makes the building's air conditioning system more energy-efficient. The spacer can be made of metal and / or polymer material. Metallic materials such as aluminum or stainless steel and polymers such as polyethylene, polycarbonate, polypropylene, polystyrene, polybutadiene, polyesters, polyurethanes, polymethyl methacrylate, polyacrylates, polyamides, polyethylene terephthalate, polybutylene terephthalate, acrylonitrile butadiene styrene, acrylonitrile styrene acrylate, styrene-acrylonitrile copolymer are well suited. The spacer, when made of polymer material, may be reinforced with fibers, for example glass or carbon fibers. In order to ensure the airtightness of the volume containing the air gap, sealing beads are arranged between the inner faces of the panes and the lateral edges of the spacer. The sealing beads are, for example, based on polyisobutylene. A desiccant material may be added to the spacer in order to absorb any residual moisture that may be present in the volume containing the air gap. The desiccant material may be any material capable of allowing air dehydration such as molecular sieve, silica gel, CaCb, Na2SO4, activated carbon, zeolites and / or a mixture thereof.
[0036] The insulating glazing 4 is arranged between the wall 2 and a glazing bead 5. The wall 2 has a first face 2a intended to be oriented towards the interior of the building in which the structure is intended to be installed and a second face 2b intended to be oriented towards the exterior of the building. The insulating glazing 4 has a first face 4a, intended to be oriented towards the interior of the building, and a second face 4b intended to be oriented towards the exterior of the building. The second face 4b of the insulating glazing 4 bears against the first face 2a of the wall 2.
[0037] The glazing bead 5 has a first face 5a intended to be oriented inwards and a second face 5b intended to be oriented outwards of the building. The first face 4a of the insulating glazing 4 is in contact with the second face 5b of the glazing bead 5. The structure 1 further comprises cleats 6 arranged around the periphery of the insulating glazing 4, between the first face 2a of the wall 2 and the second face 5b of the glazing bead 5. The cleats 6 are crossed by fixing elements 7 such as fixing screws or nails, for example by four fixing elements as illustrated in Figure 2. In an alternative, the structure 1 comprises six or more fixing elements in order to increase the pressure of the glazing bead 5 on the insulating glazing 4 and thus obtain a better hold.
[0038] The wall 2 comprises a groove 8 arranged on the first face 2a taking the form of a rectangular circumference. The groove 8 contains an adhesive joint 9 in contact with the second face 4b of the insulating glazing 4. In this way the insulating glazing 4 is fixed to the wall 2 by means of the adhesive joint 9 and the pressing force generated by the glazing bead 5 and the fixing elements 7. The adhesive joint 9 also ensures a seal between the exterior and the insulating glazing 4.
[0039] In an alternative, the wall 2 does not have a groove 8. The glue joint 9 is directly affixed to the first face 2a.
[0040] The material of the adhesive joint 9 is a silane-modified polymer because it has properties of permeability, polymerization time and mechanical performance suitable for the assembly of the structure 1.
[0041] The structure 1 also includes a seal 10 which, in particular, prevents the infiltration of water or dust. The seal 10 is arranged in contact with the second face 4b of the insulating glazing 4 and the opening 3.
[0042] A first thickness of foam (not shown) is arranged between the first face 2a of the wall 2 and the second face 4b of the insulating glazing 4 and a second thickness of foam (not shown) is arranged between the first face 4a of the insulating glazing 4 and the second face 5b of the glazing bead 5. These thicknesses of foam, having a sealing function, make it possible to take up the various gaps that may exist following the fixing of the glazing bead 5 on the wall 2.
[0043] Seat wedges (not shown) are arranged between the lower part of the insulating glazing 4 and the lower batten 6. They allow the forces generated by the insulating glazing 4 to be absorbed.
[0044] In an alternative embodiment, the batten arranged below the insulating glazing 4 comprises a water drainage system (not shown). The drainage system is, for example, a channel dug into the batten.
[0045] Referring now to Figure 3, there is illustrated a sectional view of a structure 101 according to a second embodiment of the invention. The structure 101 comprises an opening 103 of rectangular shape and a wall 102 having a first face 102a and a second face 102b. In an alternative, the opening 103 has a square shape. Referring now to Figure 4, the opening 103 has a first side 103a on which a first batten 111a is arranged, the first side 103a being intended to be oriented vertically when the structure 100 is installed in the building, a second side 103b intended to be oriented horizontally, in the upper part of the wall 2 on which a second batten 111b is arranged and a third side 103c intended to be oriented vertically on which a third batten 111c is arranged.Referring again to Figure 2, the structure 100 comprises an insulating glazing unit 104, having technical characteristics similar to those of the insulating glazing unit 4 presented in the first embodiment, in contact with the first cleat 111a, the second cleat 111b and the third cleat 111c. The insulating glazing unit 104 has a first face 104a intended to be oriented towards the interior of the building, and a second face 104b intended to be oriented towards the exterior. An adhesive joint 109 is arranged between the cleats 111a, 111b, 111c and the second face 104b of the insulating glazing unit 104.
[0046] In one alternative, the cleats are directly integrated into the wall 102. In another alternative, the wall 102 has offsets in place of the cleats.
[0047] The structure 100 also comprises a profiled seal 113 in which the insulating glazing 104 is inserted. The profiled seal 113 is arranged in the opening 103. The profiled seal 113 may comprise an additional sealing element in its lower part to improve the sealing between the profiled seal 113 and the opening 103.
[0048] The structure 100 further comprises a rim 114, also called a flap, arranged between the wall 102 on the one hand and the cleats and the profiled joint 113 on the other hand.
[0049] Preferably, the profiled seal 113 is made of silicone to provide protection against ultraviolet and ozone. Alternatively, the material of the profiled seal 113 may be polyurethane or another polymer.
[0050] In an alternative of the second embodiment, the insulating glazing 4 is encapsulated. It thus comprises a seal around the entire circumference. Preferably, the structure 100 then does not comprise a profiled seal 113 in this alternative. A fourth cleat 111d (not shown) is arranged in the lower part of the opening 103. The adhesive seal 109 is also arranged on the fourth cleat 111d.
[0051] The invention further relates to a method for assembling the structure 1. In a first step E1, an adhesive joint 9 is deposited on the wall 2 and / or on the insulating glazing 4. In a second step E2, the insulating glazing 4 is glued to the wall 2 so as to arrange the insulating glazing 4 opposite the opening 3. In a third step E3, the glazing bead 5 is fixed to the wall 2 by means of fixing elements such as fixing screws 7 or nails. Preferably, the third step E3 is carried out by means of four fixing screws.
[0052] Alternatively, during the first step E0, the glue joint 9 is placed in the groove 8 of the wall 2.
[0053] The invention also relates to a method for assembling the structure 100. In a first step S1, the first batten 111 a is fixed to the wall 102 on the first side 103a of the opening 103, the second batten 111 b is fixed to the second side 103b and the third batten 111 c is fixed to the third side 103c by means of fixing elements such as fixing screws or nails. In a second step S2, the insulating glazing 104 is glued to the battens 111 a, 111 b, 111 c.
[0054] In an alternative, before carrying out the second step S2, during a step S1', the insulating glazing 104 is introduced into the profiled seal 113.
[0055] In another alternative, before carrying out the second step S2, during a step S1”, an encapsulated insulating glazing 4 is obtained.
[0056] The methods of assembling the structure, intended for a building, have the advantage of being able to be carried out outside the construction site of the building or directly on the site. The invention thus offers flexibility with regard to the assembly of the structure.
