Description

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a bulk storage device suitable for the transport of cutting and / or perforating, and / or abrasive material, and comprising a flexible container, based on fabrics.

[0002] The present disclosure finds particular application for the storage and transport of sharp material, and in particular broken glass. Domaine technique

[0003] This disclosure relates to the field of flexible intermediate bulk containers (FIBCs) which are large capacity flexible textile containers, typically equipped with closing and gripping devices, intended to receive materials in bulk. Technique antérieure

[0004] This disclosure is particularly concerned with the collection and transportation of sharp materials, such as broken glass.

[0005] Containers traditionally used for the collection of broken glass can be rigid, typically in the form of a box. The disadvantage of such rigid containers is that they require a large storage volume, even when not in use. Similarly, storage solutions comprising skips of varying capacities exist, but take up a lot of space, require costly empty transport, and are often positioned at the waste production sites. Emptying them requires expensive special equipment.

[0006] Large, flexible, textile bulk containers can still be used for the collection of broken glass. Compared to rigid containers, FIBCs have the advantage of being able to be stored folded, i.e., taking up less space than a crate.

[0007] However, FIBCs have the following limitations for the transport of sharp materials: Even when made of reinforced fabric, these FIBCs are often single-use, the FIBC fabrics being quickly damaged by sharp contact with broken glass: this is then a packaging solution generating waste. Even when made of reinforced fabric, and depending on the orientation of the broken glass and the internal pressure, it may happen that a glass pierces the reinforced fabric of the FIBC, which can pose safety problems for the operators present. Résumé

Description des modes de réalisation

[0026] The present disclosure relates to a bulk storage device 1 suitable for transporting cutting and / or perforating, and / or abrasive material, such as for example broken glass, metal waste such as pieces of metal, or rubble. Of course, the bulk storage device is suitable for less aggressive products.

[0027] The storage device 1 comprises a container 2 made of fabrics comprising, at least in an unfolded state ED, a base F, side walls, in particular four side walls C1, C2, C3, C4, made of fabrics, forming a storage volume V of material. The container 2 thus forms a substantially parallelepiped storage volume.

[0028] The container has an upper opening OS, for filling at an upper mouth, at the upper end of the side walls C1, C2, C3, C4.

[0029] According to the present disclosure, side PP protective plates are integral with the side wall fabrics, on an inner side of the fabrics. Preferably, one or more bottom PP protective plates are integral with the bottom fabric(s) F on the inner side of the fabrics.

[0030] The PP protective walls, side and preferably bottom, are configured to be in direct contact with the material contained in the storage volume, avoiding contact between the material contained in the storage volume and the container fabrics, namely the fabrics of the side walls and preferably the fabric(s) of the bottom.

[0031] This avoids contact between the cutting material and the side wall fabrics, and preferably contact between the cutting material and the fabric and the bottom fabrics.

[0032] The PP side protection plates can be secured to the side wall fabrics C1, C2, C3, C4 of the container by OF fixing devices, such as rivets or bolts. Where appropriate, the flap protection plates are secured to the bottom fabrics by OF fixing devices, such as rivets or bolts, for example four fixing devices ensure the hold between the fabric and the protection plate, at the four corners of the side wall, or the closing flap.

[0033] Generally, each side wall C1, C2, C3, C4 can comprise a rectangular canvas, the rectangular canvases sewn two by two, at the four corners of the container by vertical CL connection seams. The PP protective plates belonging to the side walls are associated with the different canvases.

[0034] The PP protective plates, side, internal, respectively cover the surface of the canvases of the side walls C1, C2, 3, C4 protecting the canvases from the attacks of the potentially sharp contents. The PP protective plate(s), covering the canvas(es) of the bottom, protect the canvas(es) from the attacks of the potentially sharp contents.

[0035] According to one embodiment, the storage device 1 may comprise two handling loops BCL, or even more such as four handling loops, sewn to the canvas container, preferably at the four corners of the container. The loops are configured to be grouped in a position above the center of gravity of the container to allow them to be grasped and the container to be lifted. Each loop may comprise a textile strip which is sewn by a first end along a vertical seam of one of the corners, and by a second end along a vertical seam of another adjacent one of the corners.

[0036] According to one embodiment, the canvas container is foldable in a folded state EP, two of the opposite side walls (for example referenced C2, C4) of the container being foldable. Each foldable wall is foldable along a median axis AM extending in height of the container. The other two side walls (for example referenced C1, C3) may be non-foldable. The bottom plates secured to the same sides as the foldable side plates may also be foldable, and in particular as explained below.

[0037] Each of the PP protective plates belonging to the two foldable side walls has a central LP fold line extending along the height of the container.

[0038] The folding lines allow the folding of the side wall when the said median folding axes AA belonging to two side walls come together, while preventing the folding of the side wall in the other direction by blocking the said folding line when the two articulated parts of the protective plate reach coplanar positions.

[0039] Each PP protective plate may be an extruded honeycomb plate having two plates, parallel to each other, namely an inner plate PI and an outer plate PE and ribs N, oriented in the direction of extrusion, the ribs each joining the inner surfaces of the two inner and outer plates distributed in a direction transverse to the direction of extrusion.

[0040] The fold lines LP of the protective plates can be formed on the honeycomb plates which are oriented in the direction of extrusion along the height of the container. Each fold line is obtained by a corresponding cut DC along a vertical line of the inner plate PI, over its entire height, forming a hinge on the outer plate PE of the honeycomb plate. The flexible hinge can be reinforced by an adhesive tape stuck on the external surface PE of the outer plate, along the hinge.

[0041] According to one embodiment, the bottom of the container may comprise an emptying device allowing the contents to be emptied through a lower emptying opening.

[0042] The emptying device may comprise several folding closure flaps VF, each comprising a bottom fabric TF adjoining by one edge to the fabric of one of the side walls of the container, and a bottom protective plate PP, covering the inner side of the bottom fabric, in a bottom closing position. For example, the four fabrics of the side walls may be extended by their lower edge, respectively by four bottom fabrics. Each bottom fabric TF associated with one of the side walls may be of a dimension less than or equal to the fabric of the side wall. When the closure flaps are folded against the side wall, the size of the closure flap does not exceed the perimeter of the side wall.

[0043] The closing flaps VF are configured to move from a closed state EF ensuring support for the material contained in the storage volume when the flaps are folded against each other, by closing the emptying opening OV of the container, the closing flaps held by a locking device DV, and up to an open state EO, when the locking device is released (in other words unlocked), for which the closing flaps VF deploy under the action of gravity, by releasing the emptying opening OV, allowing the emptying of the storage volume.

[0044] In the folded state EP, the closing flaps VF, respectively adjoining the side wall canvases, can be folded down against the respective side walls, said closing flaps VF being folded down and superimposed on the side walls C1, C2, C3, C4, by pivoting the flaps around the lower edges of the side walls.

[0045] The PP protective plates belonging to the two flaps superimposed on the side walls equipped with foldable protective plates, may also have fold lines LP, over the height of the PP protective plates of the flaps, and so that the two superimposed PP protective plates belonging respectively to the closing flap VF and to the side wall C1; C3; C3; C4 folded against each other are configured to be folded simultaneously when the said median folding axes AM belonging to the two opposite side walls come together.

[0046] According to one embodiment, the locking device DV may comprise several flexible loops PS, configured, in a locking position to come to bear under the closing flaps VF, then in the closed state, maintaining the closing flaps in their position of support for the contained material. In the locking position, the loops are crossed by a flexible link LS linking the loops together, supporting the closing flaps. The flexible link is typically put under tension and two ends of the flexible link can be knotted to ensure locking.

[0047] The locking device DV can be unlocked by releasing the flexible link LS, typically by untying the two ends of the flexible link, and so as to cause the release of the loops PS and cause the deployment of the closing flaps VF under the action of gravity, releasing the emptying opening OV, allowing the emptying of the storage volume.

[0048] When deployed, the closure flaps, typically four in number, pivot at their connection with the side walls, folding vertically. The four closure flaps in the open position may form a conduit which extends below the drain opening OV, and as illustrated for information purposes in figure 4b This conduit, protected by PP protective plates, provides additional safety by guiding the material contained as it falls, avoiding the risk of projection.

[0049] According to one embodiment, a tubular JP skirt, typically made of canvas, can extend the canvases of the side walls C1, C2, C3, C4, said tubular skirt configured to be: in a folded position PR around the side walls of the container in the unfolded state releasing the upper opening OS of the container, in a closed position PF closing said upper opening OS of the container, or even folded inside the storage volume in the folded state of the canvas container.

[0050] According to one embodiment, the canvas(es) of the container, in particular those forming the side walls and / or the bottom, or even the skirt, on the one hand, and the protective plates, on the other hand, may be made of the same plastic material, such as polypropylene. This facilitates the recycling of the storage device. The fixing members may also be made of the same plastic material.

[0051] Optionally, the storage device (including all or part of it, in particular the canvas(es) and the side and / or bottom plates) may be obtained from recycled plastic.

[0052] According to one embodiment, the present disclosure relates to a method of collecting sharp material such as broken glass comprising: a provision of a storage device 1 for bulk according to the present disclosure, a filling of the storage volume of the container in the unfolded state ED, through the upper opening OS of the container, with cutting material, in particular broken glass, a transport of the storage device containing the cutting material.

[0053] According to one embodiment of the method, the storage device containing broken glass is emptied, typically lifted by the gripping loops, by releasing the locking device DV, for which the closing flaps VF deploy under the action of gravity, allowing the broken glass to fall by gravity through the emptying opening OV.

[0054] The space requirement of the storage device, especially in the folded or unfolded position, can be adapted to standard pallet formats such as 80 x 120 cm; 100 x 120 cm, 114 × 114 cm.

[0055] For the transport and storage of sharp, abrasive, or perforating products, the base and side plates are configured to be in direct contact with the material contained in the storage volume, avoiding contact between the material contained in the storage volume and the container fabrics.

[0056] For the transport of less aggressive products, likely to contain liquids, such as fermentable products, the storage device can be equipped with a flexible bag forming an internal lining, made of waterproof plastic film, PE, or PP, covering the base plates and the side plates. The flexible bag allows the products to be contained by containing leaks through the waterproof bag.

[0057] The present disclosure also relates to the use of the storage device for the storage and transport of material containing liquids, such as fermentable material (for example biomass, pruning products, etc.) in which a waterproof internal lining is added, in the form of a flexible bag in the storage volume, covering the protective plates.
