The base houses a burner unit that can be inserted into an opening in a simple base plate. The base plate is surrounded by a stand, and decorative materials such as sand can only be placed on the base plate to a limited extent in order to comply with the requirements of DIN EN 16647. Furthermore, the base plate reaches a higher temperature when the tabletop fireplace is operated for an extended period, as the hot burner transfers heat to the base plate.
