Abstract
Description
[0001] “FURNITURE STRUCTURE FOR THE SUPPORT AND / OR CONTAINMENT OF OBJECTS”
[0002] TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0003] The present invention concerns a furniture structure for the support and / or containment of objects of the type that can be used in the furniture sector.
[0004] The present invention also concerns a kit for adapting the connection of at least one element for the support and / or containment of objects, such as for example a drawer, a basket, a shelf or similar, with at least two furniture structures having respective side walls opposite and spaced apart by different distances as well as a method for connecting a support and / or containment element of objects to a furniture structure using the aforementioned kit.
[0005] STATE OF THE PRIOR ART
[0006] The furniture sector, with particular reference to wardrobes or furniture in general, is constantly expanding thanks to the ever-increasing needs for additional functionality and comfort requested by customers.
[0007] In this sector, the use of furnishing elements, such as furniture or wardrobes comprising extractable drawers, baskets or shelves for supporting and / or containing objects, is known.
[0008] The dimensions of these extractable support and / or containment elements may vary depending on the actual dimensions of the wardrobe or furniture with which they are associated.
[0009] In general, wardrobes or furniture can be made in various sizes to adapt their overall encumbrance to the actual dimensions available in the installation environment. In fact, it often happens that it is necessary to vary the standardized dimensions of drawers, baskets or extractable shelves by a few centimeters.
[0010] The need to guarantee such dimensional variations translates into the manufacturer's obligation to produce and keep in stock a large number of components for the realization of support and / or containment elements of various sizes.
[0011] This aspect is disadvantageous in terms of production costs as well as requiring the preparation of special storage areas with a consequent increase in costs.
[0012] Furthermore, it should also be considered that the thickness of the side walls of the furniture in which the extractable support and / or containment elements are installed can often be variable, further complicating the use of drawers, baskets or shelves of standardized dimensions.
[0013] It is therefore necessary and advantageous to design and create a furniture structure for the support and / or containment of objects which allows the disadvantages of the prior art listed above to be overcome.
[0014] OBJECTS OF THE INVENTION
[0015] The technical aim of the present invention is to improve the state of the prior art relating to furniture structures for the support and / or containment of objects.
[0016] Within this aim, it is an object of the present invention to provide a furniture structure that allows the use of support and / or containment elements, such as for example drawers, baskets or extractable shelves, of standardized dimensions in the context of furniture structures having different dimensions with reference to the distance between the opposite side walls of the same.
[0017] Another object of the present invention is to provide a furniture structure that allows the adaptation of at least one support and / or containment element to furniture structures having side walls with different thicknesses.
[0018] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide a furniture structure that allows the attachment of one or more accessories to at least one support and / or containment element of objects in a versatile way that is easily adaptable to different types of accessories.
[0019] Finally, a further object of the present invention is to provide a robust and practical furniture structure, whose internal volume can be easily organized and exploited in its entirety. This aim and these objects are achieved by a furniture structure according to claim 1, by a kit according to claim 16 and by a method according to claim 17.
[0020] The dependent claims refer to preferred and advantageous embodiments of the invention.

[0024] EMBODIMENTS OF THE INVENTION
[0025] With reference to the attached figures, the number 1 indicates as a whole a furniture structure for the support and / or containment of objects according to a nonlimiting example of embodiment of the present invention. The furniture structure 1 according to the present invention includes at least two first side walls 2, 3, opposite and spaced apart from each other by a first distance, which define a housing compartment HC.
[0026] At least one support and / or containment element 4 of objects and guide means 6 operatively associated with the at least one support and / or containment element 4 to allow its extraction from and its insertion in the housing compartment HC along an extraction and insertion direction X are also included.
[0027] The furniture structure 1 according to the present invention also comprises at least two support components or brackets 5 of the support and / or containment element 4, each fixed internally to a respective side wall 2, 3 in symmetrical positions with respect to a vertical center plane of the furniture structure 1, for example parallel to the main lying plane defined by the two first opposite side walls 2, 3, as well as at least two base components 7 operatively associated with a respective support component or bracket 5 and with the guide means 6 to support the at least one support and / or containment element 4.
[0028] The furniture structure 1 according to the present invention then includes at least one connection component 8 engaged with or fixed in at least one respective series of holes or coupling slot 9, extending along a main direction orthogonal to the extraction and insertion direction X, included in or delimited on a respective support component or bracket 5 or on a respective base component 7 and with or in a corresponding through opening or hole TO included in or delimited on a respective base component 7 or on a respective support component or bracket 5 so that by varying the engagement or fixing position of the at least one connection component 8 with the respective base component 7 along the respective series of holes or coupling slot 9 it is possible to connect the at least one support and / or containment element 4 on at least two second opposite side walls of another furniture structure 1 which are spaced apart from each other by a second distance different from said first distance.
[0029] The at least one connection component 8 can be or comprise, for example, at least one screw, a rivet, a bolt or similar and, if desired, can be blocked by means of a nut or ring nut 8a for tightening a respective support component or bracket 5 with a corresponding base component 7.
[0030] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention shown in figure 1, two series of holes or coupling slots 9 are delimited, each at or near an end portion of a respective support component or bracket 5, as well as two openings or through holes TO delimited on a respective base component 7 in corresponding vertically aligned positions or, in any case, facing a respective series of holes or coupling slot 9.
[0031] According to this embodiment, a connection component 8 is engaged with or fixed in each series of holes or coupling slots 9 and with or in each through opening or hole TO. These components 5, 7, 8 are visible in more detail in figures 21 and 22 in a coupled configuration.
[0032] If desired, the series of holes or coupling slots 9 can extend or, in any case, have a length between about 2 cm and about 12 cm, for example a length between about 3 and about 8 cm, optionally a length of about 4,5 or 5 cm.
[0033] It is observed that the greater the extension or length of the series of holes or coupling slots 9, the greater the possibility of adapting the support and / or containment element 4 to furniture structures 1 having side walls with different distances between from each other.
[0034] From a functional point of view, as can be understood, the furniture structure 1 allows the use of a support and / or containment element 4 having certain dimensions, for example width, length and, if desired, height, in multiple furniture structures 1 having different transversal widths or breadths of the housing compartment HC, for example due to different thicknesses of the side walls, without being necessary to have several dimensionally different support and / or containment elements 4 to be adapted each to a respective transversal width or breadth of the housing compartment of a corresponding furniture structure.
[0035] In other words, the furniture structure 1 advantageously presents an adjustment that allows the use and adaptation of the connection of a support and / or containment element 4 of standardized dimensions on at least two furniture structures 1 having different transversal widths of the housing compartment, i.e., different distances between two of its opposite side walls.
[0036] In this way, it is possible to limit the number of components kept in stock for the manufacturer, thus also reducing production and storage costs.
[0037] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in figure 1, the at least two support components or brackets 5 are or comprise respective angle pieces having an L-shaped cross section.
[0038] With reference to this embodiment, the at least two support components or brackets 5 are or include two angle pieces having an L-shaped cross section each fixed internally to a respective first side wall 2, 3 in symmetrical positions with respect to the vertical center plane of the furniture structure 1 parallel to the main lying plane defined by the two first opposite side walls 2, 3.
[0039] From a structural point of view, the angle pieces can advantageously define a minor branch or section 5a fixed internally to a respective first side wall 2, 3 and a minor branch or section 5b which delimits the at least one series of holes or coupling slot 9 or the at least one through opening or hole TO.
[0040] If desired, the two support components or brackets 5 can be made of metallic material, for example steel, or of rigid plastic material.
[0041] With reference instead to the at least two base components 7, they advantageously are or include a main plate, for example made of metallic material or rigid plastic material, mounted facing the two support components or brackets 5, for example so that the through openings or holes TO are vertically aligned with the respective series of holes or coupling slots 9 or vice versa.
[0042] If desired, such main plate can have an I-, L- or U-shaped cross section.
[0043] The at least two base components 7 are operatively associated with the guide means 6, for example by means of connective means 20, such as screws, bolts, rivets or the like. In this regard, the support of the support and / or containment element 4 occurs because the latter is operatively associated with the guide means 6 in turn connected to the two base components 7, the latter being operatively associated with the two support components or brackets 5 fixed internally to the first side walls 2, 3 of the furniture structure 1.
[0044] Preferably, to ensure a better connection between the at least two base components 7 and the at least two support components or brackets 5, the at least two base components 7 include or delimit one or more respective slots or series of connection holes CS developing along a main direction orthogonal to the extraction and insertion direction X and the two support components or brackets 5 include or define one or more connecting elements 10 engaged in a respective slot or series of connection holes CS or, alternatively, the at least two base components 7 comprise or define one or more connecting elements 10 and the at least two support components or brackets 5 comprise or define one or more respective slots or series of connection holes CS, developing along a main direction orthogonal to the extraction and insertion direction X, in engagement with a respective connecting element 10.
[0045] From a structural point of view, the one or more connecting elements 10 can be or comprise screws, bolts, rivets, pins or similar and, optionally, can be tightened with a respective nut or ring nut.
[0046] With reference to the support and / or containment element 4, it can be, for example, a drawer, a basket, a shelf or similar, which can be used by an operator to place and / or remove one or more objects.
[0047] Preferably, the at least one support and / or containment element 4 comprises a base 4a and boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e which define with the base 4a an object positioning zone PZ.
[0048] In relation to the base 4a, it can be made of metal, wood, plastic, chipboard or other material with suitable properties and can have any square or rectangular configuration.
[0049] With reference to the boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e, the latter can define an internal surface that faces the inside of the support and / or containment element 4 and an external surface that faces the outside of the support and / or containment element 4.
[0050] If desired, the external surface of one, more or all of the boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e can present a first knurling 4f, preferably horizontal, for example extending over a rectangular sector thereof.
[0051] Optionally, the internal surface of one, more or all of the boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e can also present a second knurling 4g, preferably horizontal, for example which extends into an upper portion of the one, more or all of the boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e.
[0052] These boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e are preferably made by folding a single ribbon-like body, for example made of metallic material, preferably made of metal sheet, and then connected to the base 4a.
[0053] In this regard, optionally the ribbon-like body can include notches 21 at which it can be folded to define two or more of the boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e.
[0054] More in detail, the notches 21, if provided, can have a transverse orientation with respect to the longitudinal development of the ribbon-like body.
[0055] Preferably, the notches 21 extend partially through the thickness of the ribbon-like body itself so as not to pass through it completely.
[0056] The notches 21 therefore do not affect an external portion of the ribbon-like body 18 which acts as a connecting element or skin between the individual portions delimited between one notch 21 and the next.
[0057] Advantageously, the internal surface of at least one of the boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e includes or defines at least one groove 11 or a rib, developing horizontally along the internal surface, configured to be engaged by one or more accessories 12 for dividing the object positioning or support zone PZ.
[0058] Preferably, the at least one groove 11 extends for more than 60%, for example for more than 80%, if desired for more than 90% of the length of at least one of the boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e.
[0059] The fact that the at least one groove 11 extends for more than 60%, for example for more than 80%, if desired for more than 90% of the length of the at least one boundary wall 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e allows to place the one or more accessories 12 along the majority of the portion of the at least one boundary wall 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e itself. According to the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention shown in figure 1, the at least one groove 11 extends in correspondence with an upper portion of the at least one boundary wall 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e, while it is intended that the groove 11 can be made in a different portion, for example central, without any limitation.
[0060] In the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in figure 16, a furniture structure 1 is visible comprising a support and / or containment element 4, in particular a drawer, which has a groove 11 engaged by one or more accessories 12 for the support of objects, in particular belt holders or tie holders.
[0061] Instead, in the non-limiting embodiment of the present invention illustrated in figure 17, a furniture structure 1 is visible comprising a support and / or containment element 4, in particular a drawer, which has a groove 11 engaged by one or more accessories 12 for subdividing the positioning zone PZ, in particular dividers.
[0062] It should be noted that the one or more accessories 12 can engage the at least one groove 11 in a sliding manner, to allow the position of the one or more accessories 12 to be varied along the boundary wall 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e to which it is connectable.
[0063] In this regard, it is noted that, if desired, the groove 11 can have an undercut portion designed to facilitate sliding engagement with the one or more accessories 12.
[0064] Advantageously, the boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e include two opposite side walls 4b, 4c which define internally, i.e., through their thickness, a respective housing cavity HZ open at the bottom in which the guide means 6 are housed.
[0065] Preferably, the guide means 6 are housed inside the housing cavity HZ so as to be hidden or confined in the support and / or containment element 4 or, better, in the side walls 2, 3 thereof, for more than 70% of their encumbrance, for example more than 80%, if desired more than 90% or 95%.
[0066] If desired, the connection between the guide means 6 and the support and / or containment element 4 can take place by interlocking, snap-fit engagement, by means of special connection means or even simply by means of the abutment of them, if desired, with an upper, in use, portion of the housing cavity HZ.
[0067] Basically, the guide means 6 are optionally connected at the top by interlocking, snap-fit engagement, by means of special connection means or by means of the abutment with the support and / or containment element 4 and at the bottom, by means of connective means 20, with the at least two components basic 7.
[0068] Advantageously, the guide means 6 can be or comprise one or more guides, preferably telescopic, known in the art and configured to allow the extraction and insertion of the support and / or containment element 4 from and into the housing compartment HC.
[0069] Preferably, the furniture structure 1 includes object-holding means 13 operatively associated below the support and / or containment element 4 so as to be integral with the latter when moving.
[0070] Advantageously, the object-holding means 13 include two opposite linear guides 13a, 13b which define a respective sliding lane SL for the frame 14a of an object-holding accessory 14, locking means 15 configured to block or stop the frame 14a in position and hooking means 16 with the support and / or containment element 4.
[0071] Optionally, the linear guides 13a, 13b can be made of metal sheet or rigid plastic and can have a U-shaped cross section.
[0072] If desired, the portion of the linear guide 13a, 13b which, in use, contacts the frame 14a of the object-holding accessory 14 can be covered with a covering layer 22, for example made of felt.
[0073] Advantageously, the locking means 15 comprise at least one stop tab or element 15a connected to a respective linear guide 13a, 13b so as to be inclined, for example with respect to the main extension of the linear guide 13a, 13b, downwards. In particular, this inclination ensures that the horizontal force component exerted by the frame 14a of the object-holding accessory 14 during insertion and extraction allows the movement of the stop tab or element 15a to allow the constraint and release or extraction of the frame 14a from the linear guides 13 a, 13b.
[0074] In fact, preferably, the stop tab or element 15a can be moved, following the insertion of the frame 14a of an object-holding accessory 14 along the sliding lane SL, from a rest position in which the frame 14a of an object-holding accessory 14 is not blocked in the sliding lane SL to a locked position of the frame 14a in the respective sliding lane SL and vice versa it is movable, following the extraction of the frame 14a of an object-holding accessory 14 from the sliding lane SL by exerting a given extraction force, from the locked position to the rest position.
[0075] Optionally, the stop tab or element 15a includes a free end 15al having a rounded configuration to facilitate the extraction of the frame 14a of an objectholding accessory 14 from the sliding lane SL following the exercise of a given extraction force.
[0076] The locking means 15 can be connected, for example by means of screws, bolts, rivets or similar, to the linear guides 13a, 13b.
[0077] According to the non-limiting embodiment of the object-holding means 13 shown in figures 10 and 11, the locking means 15 comprise a main body 15b which defines a recess 15c, from which the stop tab or element 15a extends, which allows the frame 14a of the object-holding accessory 14, when inserted or extracted, to move the stop tab or element 15a from the rest position to the locked position and vice versa.
[0078] With reference to this embodiment, locking means 15, at the two end portions of each of the two linear guides 13a, 13b, positioned so that the free end 15al of the stop tab or element 15a faces the center of the respective linear guide 13a, 13b are provided.
[0079] Regarding the hooking means 16, they preferably comprise an attachment 16a, for example connected or which extends, in use, above the linear guides 13a, 13b which can be associated with a track or channel 17 formed at the bottom of the support and / or containment element 4 to connect the respective linear guide 13 a, 13b to the latter.
[0080] If desired, the track or channel 17 can be delimited on the bottom of a hollow portion HP obtained in a corresponding boundary wall 4d, 4e of the support and / or containment element 4.
[0081] Optionally, the attachment 16a can include a screw 16al, a rivet, a bolt or similar, for example connected with a protruding or projecting portion 16a2 included in the attachment 16a which extends from the linear guide 13 a, 13b upwards, for example at its ends.
[0082] Preferably, the attachment 16a is connectable along the track or channel 17 in several connection positions so that it is possible to adjust the distance between the two linear guides 13a, 13b according to the width of the frame 14a of the objectholding accessory 14.
[0083] In particular, the track or channel 16 can be advantageously configured so that the screw 16al, the rivet, the bolt or similar can be received and retained in it.
[0084] If desired, the track or channel 17 can extend below the support and / or containment element 4 at the bottom of a boundary wall 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e of the latter along a direction perpendicular to the extraction and insertion direction X.
[0085] In relation to the object-holding accessory 14, it can be of various types, for example a shoe-holding accessory (illustrated in figure 15), shirt-holding accessory (illustrated in figure 13), laundry-holding accessory (illustrated in figure 8), bagholding accessory (illustrated in figure 12), trouser-holding accessory (illustrated in figure 14) and similar.
[0086] The frame 14a of the object-holding accessory 14 preferably has a thread-like frame configuration, for example made of metallic material or rigid plastic material, so that it can be easily inserted and extracted or removed from the object-holding means 13 or, better, from the linear guides 13a, 13b, and can be associated with further support or containment components 14b, for example with a basket, as in the case of the laundry-holding accessory 14 of figure 8 or as in the case of the bagholding accessory 14 of figure 12.
[0087] It is therefore possible to mount one or more object-holding means 13 with different distances from each other depending on the type of object-holding accessory 14 that is to be attached. Furthermore, the possibility of inserting and extracting or removing the frame 14a from the linear guides 13a, 13b of the object-holding means 13 allows for considerable versatility in use of the latter which can therefore be quickly adapted to accommodate various object-holding accessories 14.
[0088] Subject-matter of the present invention is also a kit for adapting the connection of at least one support and / or containment element 4 of objects, for example a drawer, a basket, a shelf or similar, with at least two furniture structures 1 having respective side walls 2, 3 opposite and spaced apart by different distances.
[0089] The kit according to the present invention includes at least two support components or brackets 5 of the support and / or containment element 4 designed to be fixed each internally to a respective side wall 2, 3 in symmetrical positions with respect to a vertical center plane of the furniture structure 1, for example parallel to the main lying plane defined by the respective two opposite side walls 2, 3.
[0090] The kit also includes guide means 6 designed to be operatively associated with at least one support and / or containment element 4 to allow its extraction from and its insertion into the respective furniture structure 1 along an extraction and insertion direction X.
[0091] Preferably, the at least one support and / or containment element 4 comprises a base 4a and boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e which define with the base 4a an object positioning zone PZ, the boundary walls 4b, 4c, 4d, 4e comprising two opposite side walls 4b, 4c which define internally, i.e., through their thickness, a respective housing cavity HZ open at the bottom and designed to house the guide means 6.
[0092] There are also included at least two base components 7 designed to be operatively associated with a respective support component or bracket 5 and with the guide means 6 to support the at least one support and / or containment element 4 as well as at least one connection component 8 designed to be engaged with or fixed in at least one respective series of holes or coupling slot 9, extending along a main direction orthogonal to the extraction and insertion direction X, included in or delimited on a respective support component or bracket 5 or on a respective base component 7 and with or in a corresponding through opening or hole TO included in or delimited on a respective base component 7 or on a respective support component or bracket 5 so that by varying the engagement or fixing position of the at least a connection component 8 with a respective base component 7 along said respective series of holes or coupling slot 9 it is possible to adapt the connection of the at least one support and / or containment element 4 with the at least two furniture structures 1 having respective side walls 2, 3 opposite and spaced apart by different distances.
[0093] Basically, the kit according to the present invention allows the connection of a support and / or containment element 4 of standardized dimensions to be adapted to furniture structures 1 having side walls with different distances.
[0094] Subject-matter of the present invention is also a method for connecting a support and / or containment element 4 with a furniture structure 1 by means of a kit according to the present invention or according to non-limiting embodiments of the present invention.
[0095] Such method includes the step of operatively associating the guide means 6 with the at least one support and / or containment element 4 and the guide means 6 with the at least two base components 7.
[0096] Then the step of fixing the at least two support components or brackets 5 of the support and / or containment element 4 each internally to a respective first side wall 2, 3 in symmetrical positions with respect to a vertical center plane of the furniture structure 1, for example parallel to the main lying plane defined by the two opposite side walls 2, 3, is provided.
[0097] Subsequently, the step of operatively associating the at least two base components 7 with a respective support component or bracket 5 to support the at least one support and / or containment element 4 is included.
[0098] Finally, the step of engaging or fixing at least one connection component 8 in at least one respective series of holes or coupling slot 9, extending along a main direction orthogonal to the extraction and insertion direction X, included in or delimited on a respective support component or bracket 5 or on a respective base component 7 and with or in a corresponding through opening or hole TO included in or delimited on a respective base component 7 or on a respective support component or bracket 5 as a function of the distance between the opposite side walls 2, 3 of the furniture structure 1 is provided.
[0099] The furniture structure 1, the kit and the method according to the present invention allow the use of extractable support and / or containment elements 4 of standardized dimensions in the context of furniture structures having different dimensions from each other.
[0100] The furniture structure 1, in fact, allows the adaptation of the support and / or containment elements 4 to other furniture structures having opposite side walls with different distances and, if desired, also different thicknesses from each other.
[0101] Furthermore, according to a non-limiting embodiment of the present invention, the furniture structure 1 allows the attachment of one or more accessories to the one or more support and / or containment elements 4.
[0102] The furniture structure 1 is robust, versatile and practical to use and, if desired, has an internal volume that can be easily organized and exploited in its entirety.
[0103] It has thus been seen how the invention fully achieves the proposed objects.
[0104] Modifications and variations of the invention are possible within the scope of protection defined by the following claims.
