Abstract

The present disclosure relates to heat pumps. In one arrangement, a heat pump comprises thermoelectric layers and interleaved thermal interface bodies. Each thermoelectric layer comprises one or more thermoelectric modules electrically drivable to pump heat parallel to an axial direction. Each thermal interface body has a thickness parallel to the axial direction selected such that when heat is being pumped by the thermoelectric modules a maximum lateral temperature difference in the thermal interface body is lower than a maximum axial temperature difference in the thermal interface body.
