Nanoparticle system comprising a metal, coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG), which is functionalized with a polyphenol-type organic acid, manufacturing procedure and use of said system. The present invention relates to a nanoparticle system comprising a metal selected from silver and gold, coated with polyethylene glycol (PEG), which is functionalized with a polyphenol-type organic acid selected from caffeic acid, gallic acid, and ferulic acid. The present invention also relates to a process for manufacturing said nanoparticle system and to the therapeutic and cosmetic use of said nanoparticle system.
