Description

Title of the invention: Sun visor assembly for motor vehicles

[0001] The technical context of the present invention is that of sun visors for motor vehicles and their arrangement, and more particularly of sun visors located at the front of the roof of a motor vehicle and configured for use by a driver and / or a passenger of the motor vehicle. More specifically, the invention relates to a sun visor assembly for an autonomous motor vehicle.

[0002] In the prior art, sunshade assemblies for equipping a motor vehicle are known. These sunshade assemblies comprise a sunshade fixed rigidly to the roof of the motor vehicle by means of a support mounted swerving for rotation on said roof. Prior art sunshade assemblies are located at the front of the motor vehicle, above and in front of a passenger seat or a driver's seat.

[0003] The prior art sun visor is configured to occupy at least two positions: a protective position in which the sun visor shields the eyes of the driver and / or passenger from light radiation, and a stowed position located away from the protective position, so that the sun visor is stowed towards the rear of the motor vehicle. The protective position is one in which the sun visor is positioned in front of the stowed position within the motor vehicle. In the protective position, the sun visor is oriented laterally or frontally towards the roof of the motor vehicle. Of course, for safety reasons and in accordance with automotive standards, the sun visor, when configured in its protective position, must not obstruct the driver's view of the road and its surroundings.

[0004] The drawback of these sun visor assemblies is that they are incompatible with certain roof designs. A motor vehicle roof may be relatively low, for example, when it houses an airbag module located above the driver and / or passenger. Sun visor assemblies that incorporate a curtain airbag are known to provide better deployment of said airbag in the event of activation, and in particular to limit the propulsion of objects towards the face of the driver or passenger when the latter is holding said object, for example. Such sun visors incorporating a curtain airbag for the driver and / or front passenger of the motor vehicle are particularly suitable for motor vehicles in which the driver and / or front passenger may be located further from the dashboard than in conventional motor vehicles.Furthermore, in such autonomous motor vehicles, the probability that the driver and / or front passenger is holding an object. The risk of injury in the hands is increased, making airbags that deploy from a steering wheel or dashboard of the motor vehicle incompatible or less effective.

[0005] The present invention aims to provide a new sun visor assembly for motor vehicles in order to address at least largely the previous problems and to lead to other advantages.

[0006] Another object of the invention is to provide a sun visor assembly for motor vehicles that is reliable in its operation, and as a sun visor assembly.

[0007] Another object of the invention is to propose a sun visor assembly for motor vehicles that is inexpensive, so as to limit the cost of such a sun visor assembly compared to existing sun visor assemblies for motor vehicles.

[0008] Another object of the invention is to provide a universal sun visor assembly for motor vehicles that is configured to fit different motor vehicles.

[0009] Another object of the invention is to provide a compact sun visor assembly for motor vehicles, ensuring visibility for a driver and / or passenger. In particular, the present invention aims to provide a sun visor assembly with a reduced vertical footprint in order to limit its obstruction of the driver's and / or passenger's field of vision.

[0010] According to a first aspect of the invention, at least one of the aforementioned objectives is achieved with a sun visor assembly for a motor vehicle, the sun visor assembly comprising (i) a roof element of the motor vehicle, (ii) a trim element partially covering the roof element, the trim element extending between a rear part and a front part located on the side of a windshield of the motor vehicle, (iii) a sun visor fastening member, the fastening member being fixed securely to the roof element, (iv) the sun visor being pivotally fixed to the fastening member, so as to allow the sun visor to take several angular configurations around an axis of rotation of the sun visor formed by the fastening member, characterized in that the sun visor fastening member is located at the front part of the trim element.

[0011] The roof element of the motor vehicle is a structural element of the motor vehicle. This structural element is covered by the trim element. The roof element of the motor vehicle is configured to house technical elements. These technical elements are partially concealed by the trim element covering the roof element. The technical elements form, by way of non-limiting example, a module integrated into the roof containing an airbag, and / or control buttons, and / or lighting elements.

[0012] The trim element forms a covering for the roof element. The trim element adopts the geometry of the technical element it conceals. In cases where the roof element houses a roof airbag module, which is a bulky technical element, the trim element is low in the motor vehicle it equips. The invention is particularly relevant in this type of situation.

[0013] The trim element improves the interior comfort of the motor vehicle, specifically within the vehicle's passenger compartment. It contributes to the acoustic comfort of the motor vehicle. The trim element also contributes to the aesthetic appearance of the motor vehicle.

[0014] The fastening member is fixed rigidly to the roof element. Generally, the fastening member can be fixed to the roof element by any means of attachment, whether detachable or permanent. An example of a detachable means of attachment is screwing. An example of a permanent means of attachment is a non-detachable means of attachment, such as, for example, brazing.

[0015] The sun visor is pivotally attached to the mounting member. Advantageously, the sun visor is permanently attached to the mounting member by a removable fastening means. For example, the sun visor is attached by clipping onto the mounting member. Regardless of the fastening means, whether removable or not, the sun visor is configured to pivot about the axis of rotation formed by the mounting member. Thus, the sun visor is configured to occupy several angular positions so that the sun visor can be stowed away or can protect the eyes of the driver and / or passenger from light radiation.

[0016] The sun visor may include, for example, a mirror, and / or integrated lighting, and / or a card holder.

[0017] The sun visor fastening element is located at the front of the trim panel so that the sun visor can be pressed against said front of the trim panel. In other words, the sun visor is configured to be positioned between the fastening element and the windshield of the motor vehicle.

[0018] The invention, in its first aspect, thus advantageously provides an alternative to known sunshade elements. The sunshade assembly according to the invention, when placed against the front of the trim element, saves space in the passenger compartment of the motor vehicle. Located further forward in the passenger compartment compared to known sunshades, it frees up space above the head of the driver and / or passenger. Thus, it improves the visibility of the driver and / or passenger. In particular, the invention, in its first aspect, thus provides a sunshade assembly compatible with a roof element of the motor vehicle designed to house a roof airbag module.

[0019] The sunshade assembly conforming to the first aspect of the invention advantageously comprises at least one of the improvements below, the technical characteristics forming these improvements being able to be taken alone or in combination:

[0020] - the sun visor is configured to take: (i) a first angular configuration - a storage configuration - in which the sun visor is flush against the front of the trim panel, and (ii) a second angular configuration - a protective configuration - in which the sun visor is deployed at an angle relative to the front of the trim panel. The sun visor is configured to occupy several angular configurations, including the storage configuration and the protective configuration. In the protective configuration, the sun visor protects the eyes of the driver and / or passenger from light radiation. In the storage configuration, the sun visor is positioned away from the protective configuration. In the storage configuration, the sun visor allows light radiation to pass through.

[0021] - to switch from its protection configuration to its storage configuration, the The sun visor is pushed towards the windshield of the motor vehicle. In other words, when the sun visor is in its stowed position, it is pressed against the trim element just behind one upper edge of the windshield of the motor vehicle. This configuration is the reverse of known sun visors where the stowed position is achieved by pressing the sun visor against the trim element located opposite the windshield, and in particular against the ceiling of a motor vehicle's passenger compartment;

[0022] - the trim element comprises an intermediate part located between its The trim element consists of a front and rear section, the front section being angled relative to the middle section. The trim element is relatively flat in its middle section and curved in its front section. In a motor vehicle equipped with a sun visor assembly according to the invention, the angled front section is raised relative to the middle section. Thus, the trim element fits snugly against a technical component, such as a roof airbag module, located above the middle section of the trim element, on the front side of said trim element. Such a trim element creates a recessed space between the front section of the trim element and the windshield of the motor vehicle.

[0023] - the fastening member is located at an angled area of the front part of the trim element. The angled area is located at the base of the front part of the trim element. It forms the junction between the intermediate section and the front section. In this configuration, the fastening device allows the sun visor to be housed in the space between the front part of the trim element and the windshield. motor vehicle. The visibility of the driver and / or passenger is unobstructed when the sun visor is housed in this space;

[0024] - the fastening member comprises two fastening clips which together form the axis of rotation of the sun visor, the fixing clips being located laterally on either side of the sun visor. The sun visor is fixed securely to the fixing element by the two fixing clips which form a means of fixing;

[0025] - one of the two fastening clips is of the removable fastening type. For example, One of the two fixing clips is of the detachable hook type. The sun visor can therefore be attached with one or both of the fixing clips. In particular, the sun visor can be detached from one of the fixing clips to adopt a side protection configuration. In the side protection configuration, the sun visor protects the driver or passenger from lateral light radiation, for example, light coming through a front side window of the motor vehicle;

[0026] - the sun visor assembly includes an airbag module housed between the roof element and the trim element. The airbag module is configured so that the airbag it contains deploys downwards and backwards, towards a front seat of the motor vehicle located opposite the sun visor;

[0027] - the airbag module is located between the rear part of the element of padding and the sun visor fixing mechanism. The airbag module is advantageously located under the intermediate part of the padding element;

[0028] - when the sunshade is configured in its storage position, the sunshade- The sun is located in front of the airbag module.

[0029] According to a second aspect of the invention, a motor vehicle is proposed comprising a passenger compartment equipped with a sun visor assembly conforming to the first aspect of the invention or to any one of its improvements.

[0030] In the motor vehicle conforming to the second aspect of the invention, the sun visor assembly is located at the front of the passenger compartment. The sun visor assembly is situated on the driver's and / or passenger's side of the passenger compartment.

[0031] In the motor vehicle conforming to the second aspect of the invention, the passenger compartment is delimited by the trim assembly. The front part of the trim assembly is located on the side of the motor vehicle's windshield.

[0032] In the motor vehicle according to the second aspect of the invention, to switch the sun visor from its protective configuration to its storage configuration, the sun visor is pushed towards the windshield of the motor vehicle. In other words, when the sun visor is in its storage configuration, it is pressed against the trim element just behind one upper edge of the windshield of the motor vehicle.

[0033] In the motor vehicle according to the second aspect of the invention, the sun visor in its storage configuration is housed in a space located between the front part of the trim element and the windshield of the motor vehicle.

[0034] Advantageously, the motor vehicle is of the Class 3 autonomous vehicle type. In other words, the motor vehicle includes a conditioned automation driving system. In such a motor vehicle, the driver completely delegates driving to the vehicle in predefined situations. The driver may have to take back control of the vehicle. In this sense, the motor vehicle is configured to be driven by a driver.
