Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: ANHYDROUS SOLID SHAMPOO BASED ON SURFACTANTS AND A FATTY ACID SALT, ITS PREPARATION METHOD AND A KIT
[0001] The present invention relates to an anhydrous solid composition comprising one or more anionic surfactants, one or more amphoteric or zwitterionic surfactants, and one or more fatty acid salts.
[0002] The invention also relates to a process for preparing an aqueous composition for washing, and optionally also for conditioning, keratin fibers, in particular hair, from the anhydrous solid composition according to the invention, the use of an anhydrous solid composition according to the invention for washing, and optionally also conditioning, keratin fibers, as well as a kit for preparing the aqueous composition for washing, and optionally also conditioning, keratin fibers.
[0003] In the field of hair hygiene, products for washing and / or caring for keratin fibres are mostly, if not all, packaged in plastic-based packaging, for example in the form of a plastic bottle or a non-biodegradable plastic bag.
[0004] To date, the cosmetics sector is dependent on these plastic-based packagings which are rarely recycled or difficult to recycle, and solutions to free ourselves from them are rare.
[0005] Packaging based on paper or biodegradable materials for aqueous compositions for washing and / or caring for keratin fibres is not entirely satisfactory. Indeed, this type of packaging can disintegrate in the presence of water, which does not allow these compositions to be stored or to maintain good stability over time.
[0006] However, in the interest of preserving the environment, consumers are increasingly paying attention to the plastic footprint of their purchases and are demanding cosmetic products packaged without plastic or petrochemical materials, and in smaller packaging.
[0007] Furthermore, always with a view to preserving the environment, consumers are also concerned about the carbon footprint of their purchases, that is to say the quantity of carbon dioxide generated from the production of the cosmetic product to its use, including the distribution of the product.
[0008] There is therefore a real need to develop cosmetic products with a reduced plastic footprint and carbon footprint. In particular, there is a need to develop cosmetic compositions capable of being packaged in non-plastic or non-petrochemical packaging, and in smaller packaging, to limit the generation of carbon dioxide throughout the life of the product, and this while giving keratin fibers, in particular hair, the washing and / or conditioning performance expected in terms of washing power, flexibility, feel, softness, shine and detangling.
[0009] These aims are achieved with the present invention which notably relates to an anhydrous solid composition comprising: (i) one or more anionic surfactants, (ii) one or more amphoteric or zwitterionic surfactants, and (iii) one or more C8-C32 fatty acid salts; and the total surfactant content being greater than or equal to 60% by weight relative to the total weight of the anhydrous solid composition.
[0010] The anhydrous solid composition according to the invention allows the user to prepare at home a ready-to-use aqueous composition for washing, and optionally also for conditioning, keratin fibers such as hair, for example a shampoo, by mixing the anhydrous solid composition according to the invention and water in a bottle, for example a glass bottle.
[0011] The anhydrous solid composition according to the invention has the advantage of being able to be packaged in non-plastic packaging, for example in paper, biodegradable or metallic bags, and also of being packaged in smaller packaging than a conventional shampoo.
[0012] The anhydrous solid composition according to the invention also has the advantage of having a reduced weight and volume, compared to a conventional aqueous washing composition, for example a 250 ml shampoo packaged in a polyethylene terephthalate bottle. In other words, for a unit of anhydrous solid composition, equivalent to a unit of aqueous washing composition once reformulated with water or to 250 ml of conventional shampoo, the weight and volume of the anhydrous solid composition are lower.
[0013] These reductions in weight and volume per unit of anhydrous solid composition make it possible to significantly reduce the quantity of carbon dioxide generated during the transport of the compositions according to the invention from the production plant to the distribution points, or even to the homes of consumers.
[0014] Indeed, the reduction in volume per unit of composition makes it possible to deliver more with the same means of transport (for example a truck or an airplane), and thus reduce the quantity of carbon dioxide generated, relative to each unit of composition.
[0015] Similarly, the reduction in weight per unit of composition according to the invention makes it possible to reduce the total weight of the delivery for the same means of transport (for example a truck or an airplane), and therefore the quantity of combustible energy necessary for the delivery (for example gasoline or kerosene), and thus reduce the quantity of carbon dioxide generated, relative to each unit of composition.
[0016] It has also been found that once reformulated with water, the aqueous washing compositions, and possibly also conditioning compositions, thus obtained have good washing power and provide flexibility, a good feel, softness, shine and facilitate the disentangling of keratin fibers.
[0017] Advantageously, once reformulated with water, the anhydrous solid compositions according to the invention lead to transparent compositions.
[0018] The invention also relates to a process for preparing an aqueous composition for washing, and optionally also for conditioning, keratin fibres, in particular human keratin fibres such as hair, comprising at least one step of mixing an anhydrous solid composition according to the invention with water.
[0019] The invention also relates to the use of an anhydrous solid composition according to the invention, for washing, and optionally also conditioning, keratin fibers, in particular human keratin fibers such as hair.
[0020] The invention also relates to a method for treating keratin fibers comprising the application to said keratin fibers of the anhydrous solid composition according to the invention.
[0021] The invention also relates to a kit for the preparation of an aqueous composition for washing, and optionally also for conditioning, keratin fibers, in particular human keratin fibers such as hair, comprising at least one first compartment comprising an anhydrous solid composition according to the invention, and at least one second compartment capable of containing the mixture of the anhydrous solid composition according to the invention with water.
[0022] Other objects, characteristics, aspects and advantages of the invention will appear even more clearly on reading the description and the example which follows.
[0023] In this description, and unless otherwise indicated:
[0024] - the expression "at least one" is equivalent to the expression "one or more" and can be substituted for it;
[0025] - the expression "between" is equivalent to the expression "ranging from" and can be substituted, and implies that the terminals are included;
[0026] - By the expression “greater than” and respectively the expression “less than” to the meaning of the present invention, we mean a strictly superior open interval, res- respectively strictly lower, and therefore the terminals are not included.
[0027] - By "keratin fibers" according to the present application, we mean more particularly primarily human keratin fibers, and more preferably hair.
[0028] The composition according to the invention is solid at room temperature (25°C) and at atmospheric pressure (1,013.105 Pa).
[0029] The composition according to the invention is anhydrous.
[0030] By "anhydrous composition" is meant a composition comprising a water content of less than 5% by weight, preferably less than 3% by weight, relative to the weight of the composition. Preferably, this water content is less than 1% by weight, better still less than 0.5%, or even less than 0.3% by weight, relative to the weight of the composition. More particularly, it does not comprise water (0%).
[0031] In particular, the anhydrous solid composition does not include water added during its preparation, any residual water possibly present being able to come from the raw materials used during the preparation.
[0032] The anhydrous solid composition according to the invention may be in the form of powder, paste, particles (for example spherical particles such as small beads or granules), compressed tablet, stick or loaf. Preferably, the composition according to the invention is in the form of powder or particles; and more preferably in the form of powder.
[0033] By "powder" is meant a composition in powder form, preferably essentially free of dust (or fine particles). In other words, the particle size distribution of the particles is such that the weight ratio of particles which have a size less than or equal to 50 micrometers (fines ratio), preferably less than or equal to 45 micrometers (fines ratio), is advantageously less than or equal to 5% by weight, preferably less than 3% by weight and more particularly less than 1% by weight, relative to the total weight of the particles (particle size evaluated using a RETSCH AS 200 DIGIT granulometer; Oscillation height: 1.25 mm / sieving time: 5 minutes). Advantageously, the size of the powder particles is between 5 pm and 3 mm, preferably between 10 pm and 2 mm, more preferably between 50 pm and 1 mm, and better still between 60 pm and 600 pm.
[0034] By "paste" is meant a composition having a viscosity greater than 5 poises (500 mPa.s) and preferably greater than 10 poises (1000 mPa.s), measured at 25°C and at a shear rate of 1s 1; this viscosity can be determined using a Coneplan rheometer.
[0035] By "particles" is meant small fractionated objects formed of solid particles aggregated together, of variable shapes and sizes. They may be of regular or irregular shape. In particular, they may be of spherical shape (such as granules, pellets, balls), square, rectangular, or elongated such as rods. Spherical particles are particularly preferred. The particle size may advantageously be, in its largest dimension, between 5 pm and 5 mm, preferably between 10 pm and 2 mm, more preferably between 50 pm and 100 pm and better still between 60 pm and 600 pm.
[0036] When the anhydrous solid composition according to the invention is not in the form of powder or particles, it preferably has a penetration force at 25°C and 1 atm (1,013.105 Pa), greater than or equal to 200 g, in particular greater than or equal to 300 g, or even 400 g, better still 500 g. The penetration force is determined by penetrometry. The texture analysis measurements are carried out at 25°C using a Stable Micro Systems TA.XT Plus texturometer. The penetrometry experiments are carried out with a metal rod equipped with a screwed tip, said tip being a 2 mm P / 2N needle for the upper part, connected to the measuring head. The piston is pushed into the sample at a constant speed of 1 mm / s, to a height of 5 mm. The force exerted on the piston is recorded and the average value of the force is calculated.
[0037] The anhydrous solid composition according to the invention may be in the form of a compressed anhydrous solid composition, in particular using a manual or mechanical press.
[0038] The density of the anhydrous solid composition according to the present invention is preferably between 0.1 and 1, more preferably between 0.2 and 0.8, and better still between 0.3 and 0.6.
[0039] As an example, the density can be measured according to the following method. A determined quantity (mass, m) of powder is placed in a graduated cylinder. Of 250 mL. The powder contained in the cylinder will then undergo 2,500 compressions and obtain the volume (v) occupied by the powder. The volume (v) thus obtained is read on the cylinder and the density (d) is then determined according to the formula d=m / v. Anionic surfactants
