Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Electromagnetic strip device with adjustable setting and leaf immobilization system comprising such a device
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of systems for immobilizing leaves by electromagnetic attraction, more particularly door or window leaves, and relates to an electromagnetic strip device with adjustable setting and a leaf immobilization system comprising such a device.
[0002] It is known that a system for immobilizing a door or window leaf by electromagnetic attraction makes it possible to immobilize the leaf (moving or opening part) of the door or window, in the closed or open state of the latter, by retaining it by electromagnetic attraction against the frame or another fixed part surrounding the opening of the door or window. If the immobilization of a door is generally carried out in the closed state of the latter, certain doors, such as fire doors, need to be immobilized in the open state for operational reasons and to comply with fire safety standards.
[0003] Such an electromagnetic attraction immobilization system comprises, on the one hand, a profile equipped with at least one plywood and being suitable and intended to be mounted on the leaf and, on the other hand, an electromagnetic strip, also called a profile or suction strip, suitable and intended to be mounted on the frame. The electromagnetic strip comprises a strip carrying at least one electromagnetic suction cup mounted in the latter and suitable and intended to cooperate with the plywood by electromagnetic attraction in order to immobilize the leaf.
[0004] The electromagnetic suction cup constitutes an electromagnetic device comprising at least one electromagnet producing, in the actuated or excited state when supplied with an electric current, a magnetic field, that is to say an electromagnetic attraction force capable of retaining the plywood. The electromagnetic suction cup generally has a prismatic shape, in particular a rectangular parallelepiped. It is connected, by means of electric wires or cables, to a power supply and / or to means for controlling its actuation. Holes are made in the strip to allow the passage of the wires or cables allowing its power supply and / or its control.
[0005] The electromagnetic strip generally consists of a tubular profile of square or rectangular section, generally metallic, comprising at least one internal housing in which the electromagnetic suction cup is arranged and held. In addition, at least one light or opening is made in one of the long sides tudinal (or lateral) sections of the strip to allow the passage of the electromagnetic suction cup for its cooperation with a plywood panel.
[0006] The doors in which such electromagnetic strips are usually or historically mounted are so-called flush doors, that is to say doors whose leaf is flush with the external face of the frame surrounding the door opening. However, these electromagnetic strips are not suitable for installation on other so-called overlapping (or overhanging) doors, in particular wooden doors, that is to say doors whose leaf, in the closed state of the door, covers, or extends laterally while bearing on, the external face of the frame surrounding the door opening.
[0007] While some electromagnetic strips offer the possibility of being able to adjust, using an adjustment screw, the position, known as the wedging position, of the electromagnetic strip to compensate for or catch up with such an overlap, this adjustment only allows an adjustment of a few millimeters of the wedging position, which does not allow installation on a door (frame) with an overlap requiring a much larger adjustment (several centimeters). In addition, this overlap problem can also be found on flush doors when the seals are new.
[0008] To overcome these drawbacks, it has been proposed to interpose shims between the support such as a frame and the electromagnetic strip. However, these shim operations are not easy for the operator and do not allow precise adjustment of the shim position of the electromagnetic strip for effective cooperation of the electromagnetic suction cup with the plywood.
[0009] The present invention aims to overcome these drawbacks by proposing an electromagnetic strip device with adjustable setting allowing precise and easy adjustment of the setting position of the electromagnetic strip.
[0010] For this purpose, the electromagnetic strip device with adjustable wedging for a leaf immobilization system by electromagnetic attraction, more particularly a door or window leaf, said electromagnetic strip device comprising an electromagnetic strip comprising a strip and at least one electromagnetic suction cup, said strip being in the form of a profile of square or rectangular section elongated along a longitudinal axis and comprising two opposite sides, namely a first side comprising at least one opening for the passage of the electromagnetic suction cup and a second opposite side, is essentially characterized in that it further comprises an adjustable wedging system making it possible to adjust the wedging position of the electromagnetic strip on a support such as a door or window frame, said adjustable wedging system comprising, on the one hand,a shimming profile having a base suitable and intended to be applied and, fixed on such a support by extending between the latter and said electromagnetic strip, said electromagnetic strip being held in a determined position and adjustable in spacing relative to said bottom located opposite the second side of the strip and, on the other hand, adjustable wedging means configured and mounted in said wedging profile by being connected to the electromagnetic strip so as to allow the electromagnetic strip to be held in position and the spacing adjusted relative to said bottom and the electromagnetic strip to be locked in position, determining its wedging position.
[0011] The present invention also relates to a system for immobilizing a leaf by electromagnetic attraction, more particularly a door or window leaf, said immobilization system comprising, on the one hand, a profile carrying at least one plywood and being suitable and intended to be fixed on such a leaf and, on the other hand, an electromagnetic strip device comprising at least one electromagnetic suction cup suitable and intended to cooperate with said plywood, characterized essentially in that said electromagnetic strip device consists of an electromagnetic strip device according to the present invention.
[0012] The invention will be better understood from the following description, which relates to a preferred embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, and explained with reference to the appended schematic drawings, in which:

[0021] [fig.9] is a perspective view of a part of the wedging profile of a device of electromagnetic strip according to the present invention, in an embodiment of said wedging profile which can be dismantled into two parts.
[0022] The attached figures show an electromagnetic strip device with adjustable wedging for a system for immobilizing a leaf B by electromagnetic attraction, more particularly a leaf B of a door or window, said electromagnetic strip device comprising an electromagnetic strip 1, 2 comprising a strip 1 and at least one electromagnetic suction cup 2. The strip 1 is in the form of a profile of square or rectangular section elongated along a longitudinal axis X and comprises two opposite sides 1a, 1b, namely a first side 1a comprising at least one passage opening 10a for the electromagnetic suction cup 2 and a second opposite side 1b.
[0023] According to the present invention, such a device further comprises an adjustable wedging system 3, 4 making it possible to adjust the wedging position of the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 on a support S such as a door or window frame.
[0024] Still in accordance with the present invention, said adjustable wedging system 3, 4 comprises:
[0025] - a wedging profile 3 having a bottom 3a (or a base) suitable and intended to be applied and fixed on such a support S extending between the latter and said electromagnetic strip 1, 2, said electromagnetic strip 1, 2 being held in a determined position and adjustable in spacing relative to said bottom 3a located opposite the second side of the strip 1,
[0026] - and adjustable wedging means 4 configured and mounted in said wedging profile 3 being connected to the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 so as to allow the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 to be held in position and the spacing to be adjusted relative to said bottom 3a and the said electromagnetic strip 1, 2 to be locked in position, determining (or defining or corresponding to) its setting position.
[0027] It is understood, as can be seen in figures 5, 6, 7, 8, that the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 is then fixed on the support S by means of the system of adjustable timing 3, 4.
[0028] In a preferred embodiment of the shape of the wedging profile 3, the latter may consist of a U-shaped profile defining a bottom 3a and two longitudinal wings 3b, 3c delimiting an internal space 3e open on the side opposite said bottom 3a and receiving at least partially the electromagnetic strip 1, 2. The two wings 3b, 3c make it possible to close, at least laterally (or longitudinally), the space between the electromagnetic strip and the bottom 3a in order to prevent or limit access to the adjustable wedging means 4.
[0029] In this U-shaped embodiment of the wedging profile 3, it is understood that it is the internal face of the bottom 3a, opposite its external face, which delimits, with the internal faces of the two longitudinal wings 3b, 3c, the internal space 3e receiving the electromagnetic strip 1, 2.
[0030] If we refer to figures 4, 8 and 9, we can see that the present invention can provide that the wedging profile 3 is made, preferably, in at least two parts 3a; 3b, 3c, namely a first part formed by the bottom 3a and one of the two wings 3b and a second part formed by the other wing 3c, assembled to each other in a removable manner, preferably by mutual interlocking. This removable embodiment in several parts of the wedging profile 3 allows easy or easier access to the adjustable wedging means 4.Thus, when installing on a support S, the operator can first fix the L-shaped part of the wedging profile 3 formed by the bottom 3a and one of the wings 3b by applying the external face of said bottom 3a to the support S, which leaves him an easily accessible open space to subsequently proceed with the assembly of the electromagnetic strip 2 and the adjustment of its wedging position, then can assemble the second part 3c to the first part 3a, 3b in order to close or cover the corresponding lateral side. For this purpose, one can see in these figures, the junction line 32a, 30c between the first part 3a and the second part 3b, 3c assembled to each other by one of the respective longitudinal (or lateral) edges 32a, 30c of said bottom 3a and of the wing 3c.Said longitudinal edges 32a, 30c, as can also be seen in these figures, can be shaped to fit into one another, when the wedging profile 3 is produced, as described previously, in at least two parts 3a; 3b, 3c.
[0031] As regards the ends of the wedging profile 3, the present invention may provide two flanges 3d each fixed to one of the ends so as to close or cover the latter (figures 1, 2, 4). Each flange 3d may be fixed by means of screws 7 screwed into housings 3f made in the wedging profile 3. Such a housing 3f may be formed by a groove extending from one end of the profile to the other. Such flanges 3d also make it possible to maintain in the assembled state or to lock the first part 3a and the second part 3b, 3c assembled to each other.
[0032] If we refer to Figures 3 to 9, we can see that, in a preferred embodiment of the adjustable wedging means 4, these comprise a screw / nut(s) system 4a, 4b comprising at least one screw 4b and at least one nut 4a, called wedging nut 4a. The or each wedging nut 4a is guided in translation in a direction perpendicular to said bottom 3a by its cooperation of movement and connection with the rod 40b of the or one of said associated screws 4b. The adjustable wedging means 4 further comprise locking means 4c making it possible to lock the wedging position of the electromagnetic strip 1, 2, that is to say its position and its spacing relative to the bottom 3a. The locking means 4c may consist of at least one nut, called the locking nut 4c, screwed onto the or one of the rod(s) 40b of the screw 4b, pressing against the internal face of the second side 1b of the strip.A washer 4e can be interposed between the locking nut 4c and the inner face of the second side 1b of the strip. The locking nut 4c thus prevents any removal of the locking strip 1, 2 in the axis X2 of the screw(s) 4b.
[0033] Preferably, the or each wedging nut 4a is integrated into the strip 1, 2 (shape not shown in the attached figures) or comes to bear against the second side 1b of the strip 1, that is to say against the external face of said second side 1b (see in particular figures 5, 6, 7, 8, 9).
[0034] Preferably, in the embodiment shown in the appended figures (see in particular figures 5, 6, 7, 8, 9) where the or each wedging nut 4a bears against the second side 1b of the strip 1, the or each screw 4b is locked in rotation about its axis X2. It is understood that in this case the adjustment of the position of the wedging nut(s) 4a along the rod 40b of the associated screw 4b is carried out by acting on the wedging nut(s) 4a.
[0035] Preferably, the axis X2 of the or each screw 4b extends into the internal space of the strip 1, passing next to the electromagnetic suction cup 2 between the latter and one of the ends of the strip 1 or, where appropriate, between two electromagnetic suction cups 2.
[0036] If we refer to figures 5, 6, 7, 8, we can see that the rod 40b of the or each screw 4b extends perpendicularly to the bottom 3a by crossing the second side 1b of the strip 1. We can also see in figures 5 and 8 that, in particular in the case of an adjustment of the wedging position of the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 corresponding to a minimum spacing between the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 and the bottom 3a, the rod 40b extends in the internal space of the strip 1 next to the electromagnetic suction cup 2 between the latter and one of the ends of the strip 1 or, where appropriate, between two electromagnetic suction cups 2. To allow the passage of the rod 40b of the or each screw 4b in the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 and more part particularly through the second side 1b of the strip 1, at least one hole or cavity is made in the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 and more particularly in the second side 1b of the strip 1.
[0037] In an embodiment not shown, the or each screw 4b comprises a rod 40b fixed, for example welded, or integrated, in the bottom 3a while extending perpendicularly relative to the latter. It is understood that such screws 4b do not comprise a head 41b.
[0038] In another preferred embodiment, as can be seen in particular in Figures 3 to 9, the or each screw 4b comprises a head 41b, preferably of square or rectangular shape. Preferably the head 41b of the or each screw 4b is arranged on the side of the external face of the bottom 3a and the rod 40b of the or each screw 4b passes through the bottom 3a perpendicularly. The bottom 3a comprises at least one hole 31a allowing the passage of the rod 40b of the or one of the screws 4b. Furthermore, preferably, to integrate the or each head 41b in the plane of the bottom 3a so as not to create excess thickness between the latter and the support S in the mounted state which could harm its stability, the external face of said bottom 3a comprises at least one housing 30a configured to receive the or at least one of said head(s) 41b of screw 4b.Preferably, in the embodiment where the or each screw 4b is locked in rotation around its axis X2, such at least one housing 30a is configured to lock in rotation the said head(s) 41b of screw 4b.
[0039] In a preferred form, as can be seen in particular in Figures 2, 3, 4 and 9, the wedging profile 3 comprises an external groove or recess made, preferably centrally, longitudinally in the external face 30a of the bottom 3a. Said external groove or recess forms the housing 30a for receiving the head(s) 41b of screw 4b.
[0040] In the embodiment not shown in the attached figures where the or each wedging nut 4a is integrated into the strip 1, the or each wedging nut 4a is locked in rotation relative to the wedging profile 3 and the or each screw 4b is then mounted in free rotation in said wedging profile 3.
[0041] Preferably, the axis X2 of the or each screw 4b extends in the longitudinal median plane of the wedging profile 3. This characteristic has the effect / advantage of positioning the or each screw 4b in the axis of the initial or original (usual) fixing holes of the strip 1.
[0042] In a preferred embodiment of the electromagnetic strip 1, 2, as can be seen in particular in Figures 4 and 8, the strip 1 is made in two parts, namely a first profile 1' carrying the electromagnetic suction cup and comprising the passage opening 10a and a second profile 1” comprising the second side 1b. The first profile 1' and the second profile 1” may have each an L shape and / or may be identical or similar or have a different shape. Other U-shaped or flat-shaped shapes may be provided for one and / or the other of said parts. Such a two-part electromagnetic strip may be an electromagnetic strip device of the type described and disclosed in patent application No. 2104955 of the present applicant, further comprising at least the aforementioned hole(s) or cavity(ies) allowing the passage of the rod(s) 40b of the screws 4b. The advantage of such an embodiment of the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 in several parts which can be assembled together in a removable manner, is to allow easy access to the locking means 4c such as the or each locking nut 4c to act on the latter.
[0043] If we refer to [fig.3], we can see that, when the strip 1 of the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 is not made in several parts, as described in the previous paragraph, and has a one-piece tubular structure of square or rectangular section, at least one access hole 11a can be made in one of its sides, preferably in its first side 1a comprising the passage opening(s) 10a of the electromagnetic suction cup(s) 2. The or each access hole 11a allows the operator to pass, and act on, in the internal space of the strip 1, the or one of the locking nut(s) 4c. The or each access hole 11a can be closed by a cap or plug 12a.The or each access hole 1a is made in the axis of the or one of the hole(s) allowing the passage of the rod 40b of the or one of the screws 4b in the second side 1b of the strip and in the axis of the or one of the hole(s) 31a made in the bottom 3a for the passage of the rod 40b of the or one of the screws 4b through said bottom 3a. The strip 1 of the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 may comprise two flanges 1e fixed by screws 7 in the ends of the strip 1 to close or cover the latter or connect the parts, for example the two L-shaped parts, to each other (figures 1, 2, 3, 4).
[0044] The present invention also relates to a system for immobilizing a leaf B by electromagnetic attraction ([fig.7]), more particularly a leaf B of a door or window, said immobilization system comprising, on the one hand, a profile 5 carrying at least one plywood 6 and being suitable and intended to be fixed on such a leaf B and, on the other hand, an electromagnetic strip device comprising at least one electromagnetic suction cup 2 suitable and intended to cooperate with said plywood 5.
[0045] According to the present invention, in such an immobilization system said electromagnetic band device consists of an electromagnetic band device according to the present invention.
[0046] Thus, such an electromagnetic headband device according to the present invention, or such an immobilization system comprising such an electromagnetic headband device according to the present invention, allows precise and easy adjustment of the position of wedging of the electromagnetic strip and compensating or catching up the overlap (or overhang) created by the leaf, in the closed state of the door, of so-called overlapping (or overhanging) doors. It allows in particular on these so-called overlapping doors an adjustment of the wedging position of the electromagnetic strip 1, 2 with a possible adjustment over several centimeters in relation to the bottom 3a or the support S.
[0047] Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown in the attached drawings. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
