Description of the invention These objectives, as well as others which will appear subsequently, are achieved using a locking device for a deck hatch or opening panel in a ship's window comprising: - a base suitable for being fixed to said opening; - a body mounted pivoting relative to said base, said body having a protruding element forming a bolt adapted to cooperate with a strike plate to ensure the locking of said opening; - a handle attached to the said body. In the context of this invention, the term "deck hatch" refers to a watertight assembly mounted flat or at a slight angle on the deck of a ship, consisting of a frame or structure, also called a fixed part, and a hinged or sliding opening panel mounted on hinges or jacks. The term "window opening panel" further refers to an assembly consisting of a tilting or sliding opening panel, glazed, translucent, or transparent, mounted in a frame that fits into a larger pane of glass positioned vertically or at an angle. We finally hear the terms bolt and strike plate in their general sense, namely that the bolt is a movable part intended to engage in a strike plate fixed to the frame to ensure the locking of the opening. According to the invention, said handle has a locking finger of said handle projecting towards said base and in that said handle is mounted pivotally relative to said body along an axis substantially perpendicular to the pivot axis of said body relative to said base between at least two positions: - a locking position of said handle in which the handle extends substantially perpendicularly to the pivot axis of said body and said finger is inserted into a housing formed in said base; - at least one unlocked position of said handle in which said handle is pivoted so as to move away from said base and said finger is out of said housing. Thus, in a novel and particularly ingenious way, the invention proposes to implement a pivoting handle that simply needs to be lifted to activate the bolt. and which locks simply by lowering it so that its locking pin engages in the base of the device attached to the door, or vice versa. Therefore, simply observing the handle's position (whether it's lowered or raised) is enough to determine if the handle is locked or not.

[0048] Figure 1 illustrates a deck panel 10 of a pleasure boat, seen from inside the cabin, consisting of a glazed opening 11 with a substantially square outline mounted to tilt relative to a frame forming a fixed part 12. This deck panel is equipped with two locking devices for the opening 13 and 14 mounted respectively near the lower left edge and the lower right edge of the opening 11.

Demands
1. A locking device for a deck hatch or opening panel in a ship's window comprising: - a base adapted to be fixed to said opening; - a body mounted pivoting relative to said base, said body having a projecting element forming a bolt adapted to cooperate with a strike plate to ensure the locking of said opening; - a handle attached to said body, characterized in that said handle has a locking finger of said handle projecting towards said base and in that said handle is mounted pivoting relative to said body along an axis substantially perpendicular to the axis of pivot of said body relative to said base between two positions: - a locking position of said handle in which the handle extends substantially perpendicularly to the axis of pivot of said body and said finger is inserted into a housing formed in said base;- an unlocked position of said handle in which said handle is pivoted so as to move away from said base and said finger is out of said housing.;
2. Locking device according to claim 1, characterized in that said housing forms a notch in said base.
3. Locking device according to any one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that, in said unlocked position, said handle forms an angle between 10 and 60° with said pivot axis of the body.
4. Locking device according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that said handle has a flank extending substantially in the direction of the pivot axis of said body and configured so as to be in contact with said body in said unlocked position.
5. Locking device according to any one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that said body has means for securing a removable handle intended to open the opening from the outside.
6. Locking device according to claim 5, characterized in that said means for securing a removable handle have a contour cavity in the shape of an eight-pointed star configured to accommodate a star-shaped imprint of a winch key.
7. Locking device according to claim 5 or claim 6, characterized in that said removable handle has at least one fixing clip on said means for securing a removable handle.

Locking device according to any one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that said locking handle has a projecting stop element configured so as to be able to come into contact with said body, said projecting stop element and said locking finger projecting from the handle respectively on one side and the other side of the pivot axis of the locking handle.
9. Locking device according to any one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that said bolt has a fork shape intended to house a tongue.
10. Locking device according to any one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that said body has a radially projecting stop element that fits into an arc-shaped recess formed in said base.
