AI Technical Summary
Existing hair care products often strip natural oils from hair, leading to a sticky or greasy sensation while failing to provide shine and lightness, causing structural damage and dissatisfaction among users.
A composition combining non-volatile silicone oils, such as amino silicone with a viscosity of 500 to 50,000 MPa/s, and volatile oils like isoparaffin or volatile silicone, is used to create a balance between non-greasy sensation, shine, and lightness without causing hair damage.
The composition provides improved softness, lightness, and stability to hair by maintaining natural oils while enhancing shine and reducing greasiness, offering a durable and effective hair care solution.
Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Composition of oils for the care of keratinous material Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to a composition of various oils for the care of keratinous material, in particular hair. The present invention also relates to the use of at least two specific oils. Context
[0002] Keratinous materials are widely present on the surface of the human body, for example on the skin, scalp and hair. Many people have long sought to refresh the surface of the body, in order to feel comfortable in everyday life and at work. Among other things, the feeling of stickiness / greasyness, especially that of the hair, is of particular concern to many people. Accordingly, various products are developed to address the personal feeling of stickiness or greasyness.
[0003] In keratinous materials on the surface of the body, the scalp and hair are particularly susceptible to greasiness. Various formulations have been developed to treat the sticky or greasy feeling, including those provided in separate form, e.g., lotion, spray and the like, and those incorporated into conventional hair and / or scalp products, e.g., shampoo, leave-in and / or rinse-out conditioner / oil.
[0004] Among other means, keratinous material, particularly hair, is cleaned and treated with many cosmetic products to improve the stickiness or greasiness, for example with shampoo. These various treatments, however, can remove natural oils from the hair and cause structural damage to the hair. For example, shampoos are often formulated with anionic surfactants that primarily cleanse the hair instead of conditioning it. Anionic surfactants are very effective at removing dirt, pollution, buildup, etc. from the hair, but they also remove sebum, a natural oily or waxy material that automatically lubricates the hair.
[0005] Conditioner compositions are used to enhance or restore the natural luster, shine, softness, and manageability of hair, for example, after shampooing and / or after subjecting the hair to a chemical treatment. Conditioner compositions are often applied as cream-like emulsions, or lotions, and typically include one or more cationic compounds, in the form of a rinse-off or leave-in product. Other hair care products can also be incorporated into a leave-in product. Since it is present on the hair for a long period of time, the requirement for a leave-in product can focus particularly on achieving the desired function of this product without negatively affecting the hair.
[0006] There is therefore still a need in the art to develop new compositions for the conditioning of keratinous materials in order to satisfy the multiple demands of consumers, in particular the balance between non-greasy sensation, shine and softness with lightness. Summary of the invention
[0007] An object of the present invention is to provide a composition for the care of keratinous material, in particular hair, which can provide softness with the feeling of lightness.

[0037] According to the first aspect, the present invention provides an oil composition for the care of keratinous material, in particular hair, comprising the following components:
[0038] A) at least one non-volatile silicone oil, comprising an α,α-amino alkyl (C1-C6) silicone having a viscosity of 500 to 50,000 mPa / s, preferably 10,000 to 15,000 mPa / s; and
[0039] B) a C8-C16 isoparaffin, preferably caprylyl methicone. Component A), non-volatile oil
[0040] The oil composition according to the present invention may comprise at least one non-volatile oil as component A).
[0041] The non-volatile oil as component A) may comprise a non-volatile amino silicone oil as component A1). Such a silicone may be, for example, an α,co-amino silicone, preferably an α,co-amino alkyl (C1-C6) silicone, especially a silicone having a viscosity of 500 to 50,000 mPa / s, preferably 10,000 to 15,000 mPa / s.
[0042] Component A1), non-volatile amino silicone oil
[0043] For the purposes of the invention, the terms "silicone" and "silicone oil" may be used interchangeably.
[0044] The non-volatile amino silicone oil used as component A1) may preferably be free of phenyl groups, i.e., a non-phenyl silicone. The term "non-phenyl" denotes a compound bearing no phenyl substituents.
[0045] Silicone is generally used as an oil for various cosmetic purposes. Among others, an amino silicone is particularly interesting. The term "amino silicone" means any silicone comprising at least one primary, secondary or tertiary amine or a quaternary ammonium group (i.e., a quaternized group).
[0046] A silicone can carry the amine group on the backbone chain of the molecule, called an amino-terminal silicone, or carry the amine group on the pendant chain, called an amino-grafted silicone.
[0047] Amino silicones are described, for example, in US 2011 / 0 155 163 and US 2011 / 155 164.
[0048] Non-limiting examples include amodimethicone, silicone quaternium- 22, trimethylsilyl amodimethicone, bis-isobutyl / PEG / PPG-20 / 35 / amodimethicone copolymer, bis-cetearyl amodimethicone, bis-amino PEG / PPG-41 / 3 aminoethyl PG-propyl dimethicone, PEG-40 / PPG-8 methylaminopropyl hydroxypropyl dimethicone copolymer, bis-isobutyl / PEG / PPG-20 / 35 / amodimethicone copolymer, quatemium-80, methoxy PEG / PPG-7 / 3 aminopropyl dimethicone, silicone quatemium-22, bis(C13-15 alkoxy) PG- amodimethicone, bis-hydroxy / methoxy amodimethicone, aminopropyl phenyl trimethicone, aminopropyl dimethicone, bis-aminopropyl dimethicone, PEG-7 amodimethicone, silicone quaternium-8, visamino PEG / PPG-41 / 3 aminoethyl PG-propyl dimethicone, polysilicone-19, silicone quaternium-18, and mixtures thereof.
[0049] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the amino silicone is preferably an amino-terminal silicone.
[0050] Accordingly, another preferable amino silicone group according to the present invention may include: amino bispropyl dimethicone; aminopropyl dimethicone; amodimethicone; bis-aminopropyl dimethicone; bis-aminopropyl / ethoxyaminopropyl dimethicone; bis-butyloxyamodimethicone / peg-60 copolymer; bis-isobutyl peg-14 / amodimethicone copolymer; bis-isobutyl peg-15 / amodimethicone copolymer.
[0051] Without being limited by any known theory, it is believed that a bis-amino-terminal silicone is preferably useful, i.e., an amino silicone both of whose terminal groups are amino groups. For the purposes of the present invention, such a bis-amino-terminal silicone is referred to as a bis-amino silicone, or referred to as an α,co-amino silicone, unless specifically indicated otherwise. In particular, the amino group of the useful α,co-amino silicone may be further modified with an alkyl or alkoxyl, preferably a C1-C6 alkyl or alkoxyl, or more preferably a C1-C4 alkyl or alkoxyl, for example, propyl.
[0052] Among others, bis-aminopropyl dimethicone, bis-aminopropyl / ethoxy aminopropyl dimethicone, bis-isobutyl / PEG / PPG-20 / 35 / amodimethicone copolymer, bis-cetearyl amodimethicone, bis-amino PEG / PPG-41 / 3 aminoethyl PG-propyl dimethicone, bis(Cn-i5 alkoxy) PG-amodimethicone, bis-hydroxy / methoxy amodimethicone may be preferred.
[0053] Consequently, the non-volatile silicone oil useful in the invention may be an α,α-aminoalkyl silicone, preferably an α,α-aminoalkyl (C1-C6) silicone, for example bis-aminopropyl dimethicone.
[0054] In the context of the invention, the non-volatile silicone may preferably have a viscosity of 500 to 50,000 mPa / s, preferably 10,000 to 15,000 mPa / s.
[0055] Without being limited by any known theory, it is believed that the incorporation of component A1) is particularly beneficial for the soft feel of keratinous materials. In addition, α,co-amino alkyl (C1-C6) silicone, especially that having a viscosity of 500 to 50,000 mPa / s, preferably 10,000 to 15,000 mPa / s, is of particular benefit.
[0056] Preferably, the molecule of component A1) is devoid of a phenyl group.
[0057] Then, according to an embodiment of the present invention, despite the presence of any other non-volatile oil used as component A) or not, the use of component A), in particular an α,β-amino alkyl (C1-C6) silicone, for example, bis-aminopropyl dimethicone, preferably having a viscosity of 500 to 50,000 mPa / s, preferably 10,000 to 15,000 mPa / s, is used as an essential component for the composition of oils, which can provide better softness, as well as good lightness, stability, etc.
[0058] Advantageously, component A1) may be present in an amount ranging from 0.1% by weight to 10% by weight, preferably from 0.1% by weight to 5% by weight or preferably from 0.1% by weight to 3% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition. Component A2), non-volatile synthetic oil
[0059] Component A) may also comprise non-volatile synthetic oils useful as component A2), in addition to component A1).
[0060] The non-volatile synthetic oil may be, for example, a synthetic ester of formula RiCOOR2.
[0061] In the formula RiCOOR2, Ri represents a linear or branched fatty acid residue containing from 4 to 40 carbon atoms and R2 represents a hydrocarbon chain containing from 4 to 40 carbon atoms, provided that Ri + R2 > 14, or > 16.
[0062] The oil of formula RiCOOR2 intended to be used as synthetic oil can be chosen from mono-, di-, tri-, tetra-esters and polyesters, and mixtures thereof.
[0063] Examples of oil of formula RiCOOR2 include purcellin oil (cetostearyl octanoate), diisopropyl adipate, octyl isononanoate, isononyl isononanoate, 2-ethylhexyl palmitate, octyldodecyl neopentanoate, stearyl heptanoate, stearyl caprylate, 2-octyldodecyl stearate, 2-octyldodecyl erucate, oleyl erucate, isostearyl isostearate, 2-octyldodecyl benzoate, isopropyl myristate, isopropyl palmitate, butyl stearate, hexyl laurate, 2-ethylhexyl palmitate, 2-hexyldecyl, 2-octyldecyl palmitate, 2-octyldodecyl myristate or 2-diethylhexyl succinate.
[0064] Preferably, the oil of formula RiCOOR2 may be chosen from esters of a C6-C24 monocarboxylic acid with a C4-C20 monoalcohol, at least one of the acid and the alcohol being branched or unsaturated; or preferably chosen from esters of a C4-C10 (preferably C6-C10) monocarboxylic acid with a C4-C10 (preferably C6-C10) alcohol, at least one of the acid and the alcohol being branched.
[0065] Thus, according to one embodiment of the invention, the oil of formula RiCOOR2 may be a monoester of a branched saturated C6-Ci0 monocarboxylic acid with a branched saturated C6-Ci0 alcohol. Among the examples cited above, mention may thus be made in particular of octyl isononanoate, and in particular isononyl isononanoate.
[0066] Advantageously, component A2) may be present in an amount ranging from 0.1% by weight to 40% by weight, preferably from 0.1% by weight to 30% by weight, or preferably from 0.1% by weight to 20% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition.
[0067] Component A3), additional non-volatile silicone oil
[0068] Component A) may also comprise additional non-volatile silicone oils, useful as component A3), in addition to components A1) and A2).
[0069] The additional non-volatile silicone oil is different from the "amino silicone" useful as component A1) according to the present invention.
[0070] According to one embodiment of the present invention, examples of the additional non-volatile silicone oil may be taken from the family of polydialkylsiloxanes with terminal trimethylsilyl groups, such as oils having a viscosity in the range of 0.2 m2 / s to 2.5 m2 / s at 25°C, for example the oils of the DC200 series from DOW CORNING, in particular that having a viscosity of 60,000 Cst, of the SILBIONE 70047 series, more particularly the 70,047 V 500,000 oil offered by the supplier RHODIA CHIMIE, polydialkylsiloxanes with dimethylsilanol end groups such as dimethiconol such as the oils of the 48 series from the company Rhodia or polyalkylarylsiloxanes such as the SILBIONE 70641 V 200 oil offered by the supplier RHODIA CHIMIE.
[0071] Advantageously, component A3) may be present in an amount ranging from 0.1% by weight to 12% by weight, or preferably from 3% by weight to 9% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition. Component B), volatile oil
[0072] The oil composition according to the present invention may comprise at least one volatile oil as component B).
[0073] For the purposes of the present invention, it is preferred that component B) is at least one volatile oil chosen from the group consisting of: components B1) volatile non-phenyl silicone oil and B2) C8-C16 isoparaffin.
[0074] Component B1), volatile non-phenyl silicone oil
[0075] Many silicone oils are conventionally known to be non-volatile, while some non-phenyl silicone oils are known to be volatile, even with a relatively low evaporation rate. Examples include volatile linear or cyclic silicone oils, especially those having a viscosity < 8 centistokes (cSt) (8 x 106 m2 / s), and especially containing from 2 to 10 silicon atoms and in particular from 2 to 7 silicon atoms, these silicones optionally comprising alkyl or alkoxy groups containing from 1 to 10 carbon atoms. These volatile non-phenyl silicone oils may be an alkylsilicone.
[0076] Without being limited by any known theory, it is inferred that when the "alkyl" moiety in the volatile non-phenyl alkyl silicone has a number of carbon atoms similar to the R 1 and / or R 2 groups in the oil of formula RiCOOR2 useful as component A2), the desired softness, lightness and shine of the hair can be particularly satisfied, which may be due to the better compatibility between such an alkyl silicone and the oil of formula RiCOOR2. Thus, among others, the typical volatile silicone oil may be a C 6 -C 10 alkyl methicone.
[0077] Caprylylmethicone may be provided as an example of C6-C10 alkyl methicone. A commercial caprylyl methicone product may include that sold under the trademark DOW CORNING FZ-3196 by the company DOW CORNING (DOW CHEMICAL).
[0078] Without being limited by any known theory, it is believed that provided that the functions of the other active components are not significantly inhibited / masked, component B1), in particular caprylyl methicone, may be preferably used in a relatively higher amount. For example, for a leave-in hair product, a relatively higher amount of component B1), in particular caprylyl methicone, may be beneficial to the lightness and softness of the hair. According to the invention, it is important to use component B1), in particular caprylyl methicone, in an appropriate amount.
[0079] Thus, advantageously, component B1), in particular caprylyl methicone, may be present in an amount ranging from 10% by weight to 35% by weight, preferably from 15% by weight to 25% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition. Component B2), C8-C16 isoparaffin
[0080] Component B) of the oil composition according to the present invention may optionally comprise additional volatile oils, for example an oil selected from the group consisting of C8-C16 isoparaffins, as component B2), which generally serves as a solvent.
[0081] Oils based on hydrocarbons containing from 8 to 16 carbon atoms, and in particular branched C8-Ci6 alkanes (also called isoparaffins) are known to be conventional volatile oils and can be used as component B2) alone or in a mixture. Examples include isododecane (also called 2,2,4,4,6-pentamethylheptane), isodecane, isohexadecane, and for example the oils sold under the trade names Isopars® or Permethyls®.
[0082] C8-C16 isoparaffins are generally used as organic solvents, for example, used as a co-solvent in a mixture of organic solvents with one or more other conventional organic solvents. On the other hand, when a solvent is used for the present invention, component B2), for example isododecane, is generally used in a significant amount, particularly in an amount of 40% by weight or more, relative to the composition of oils according to the present invention. Without being limited by known theory, it is believed that, although it serves as a solvent, the presence of a C8-C16 isoparaffin, e.g., isododecane, as well as its amount, can substantially affect the effect of the composition, e.g., the lightness and conditioning effects of hair treated with the oil composition.
[0083] According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, the composition is substantially free, or free, of other conventional solvents. In other words, other conventional solvents, for example hydrogenated polyisobutene conventionally used in a hair product, if present, represent no more than 10% by weight, or no more than 5% by weight, more preferably no more than 1%, of the oil composition. In other words, the oil composition according to the present invention may use a C8-C16 isoparaffin or a mixture thereof, for example isododecane, as the sole solvent.
[0084] Thus, advantageously, component B2), in particular isododecane, may be present in an amount ranging from 40% by weight to 95% by weight, preferably 50% by weight to 95% by weight, or preferably 55% by weight to 90% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition. Simultaneous use of components Bl) and B2)
[0085] The inventors have surprisingly discovered that the simultaneous use of at least two specific oils, i.e., component B1), a volatile non-phenyl silicone oil and B2) a C8-C16 isoparaffin, can be particularly advantageous. Without being limited by any known theory, it is believed that the concomitant use of these components B1) and B2) can result in a composition having a particularly advantageous lightness, as well as a desirable softness, for a hair product.
[0086] Thus, according to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the oil composition according to the present invention comprises both components B1) and B2). Component C), vegetable oil
[0087] The oil composition according to the present invention may further comprise at least one vegetable oil, in particular of the triglyceride type for the use of component C).
[0088] Preferably, the triglyceride type vegetable oils are chosen from sunflower oil, corn oil, soybean oil, pumpkin oil, grape seed oil, sesame oil, hazelnut oil, apricot oil, macadamia oil, castor oil, olive oil, avocado oil, argan oil, camellia oil, palm oil, corn germ oil, cottonseed oil, peanut oil, pumpkin seed oil, grape seed oil, wheat, babassu oil, coconut oil, rapeseed oil, almond oil, linseed oil, safflower oil, and mixtures thereof.
[0089] Or preferably, the triglyceride type vegetable oils are chosen from sunflower oil, jojoba oil, Argania spinosa kernel oil, coconut oil, corn oil, soybean oil, pumpkin oil, grape seed oil, sesame oil, hazelnut oil, apricot oil, macadamia oil, castor oil and avocado oil.
[0090] As a commercial product of triglyceride type vegetable oil, mention may be made of H elianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil sold under the name REFINED SUNFLOWER OIL by the company AAK KAMANI PRIVATE, S immondsia chinensis (JOJOBA) seed oil sold under the name JD FFL JOJOBA GOLDEN OIL by the company JOJOBA DESERT, C ocos nucifera (coconut) oil sold under the name ACTIVATED VIRGIN COCONUT OIL by the company BIOTROPICS, Argania spinosa kernel oil sold under the name LIPOFRUCTYL ARGAN BE LS 9779 by the company BASF BEAUTY CARE SOLUTION, and P runus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil sold under the name APRICOT KERNEL OIL REFINED DAC by the company GUSTAV HEESS.
[0091] Advantageously, the triglyceride type vegetable oil may be present in an amount ranging from 0.5% by weight to 15% by weight, preferably from 1% by weight to 10% by weight, or preferably from 3% by weight to 8% by weight, relative to the total weight of the oil composition.
[0092] According to one embodiment of the present invention, it is preferable that all or substantially all of the useful components, especially those useful as components A) and / or B), as for components A1), A2), A3), B1) and / or B2), are each free of phenyl. For a hair product, especially a hair oil, the presence of phenyl in certain components, for example in a silicone, can generally benefit the shine effect. However, it is also known that a phenyl-containing compound can often be environmentally unfriendly. In contrast, the inventors of the present invention have surprisingly discovered that by using the oil composition according to the present invention comprising the specific combination of components A) and B), the desired shine can still be achieved.
[0093] According to one embodiment of the present invention, it is preferable that the oil composition consists essentially of, or consists of, components A1), A2), A3), B1) and B2) described herein. According to one embodiment of the present invention, it is preferable that the oil composition consists essentially of, or consists of, components A1), A2), B1) and B2) described herein. Adjuvants or additives
[0094] The oil composition of the present invention may comprise conventional cosmetic adjuvants or additives, for example, perfumes, fillers, antioxidants (for example, tocopherols, such as d-alpha-tocopherol, d-beta-tocopherol, d-gamma-tocopherol, d-delta-tocopherol), and mixtures thereof.
[0095] One skilled in the art can select the amount of adjuvants or additional additive so as not to negatively affect the end use of the oil composition according to the present invention. Anhydrous form
[0096] Within the scope of the present invention, the composition according to the present invention may be essentially in anhydrous form. According to the present invention, the inclusion of water or moisture in the composition is preferably avoided; however, those skilled in the art readily understand that water may not be 100% removed. For example, although water is not intentionally added, it may be provided by ingredients of the composition that contain it in residual amounts, incorporated during production, or absorbed from the environment during production and / or storage.
[0097] Therefore, for the purposes of the present invention, the term "anhydrous" means the absence of water or the presence of water in an amount such that those skilled in the art can determine that it is free or substantially free of water. For example, an "anhydrous" composition according to the present invention may comprise less than 2%, preferably less than 0.5% by weight of water, based on the total weight of the composition. Preferably, an "anhydrous" composition according to the present invention does not comprise a detectable amount of water, where "detectable amount" means an amount that can be detected by a device conventionally used in the art for measuring water content.
[0098] Optionally, components A) to C), as well as, if present, any other component, are subjected to a water removal step before being incorporated into the composition of the present invention. The technical means for water removal are not particularly limited, provided that the composition obtained is “anhydrous”.
[0099] The oil composition of the present invention may be in the form of an oil gel or an oil balm. Method and use
[0100] The compositions according to the invention can be manufactured by known processes, generally used in the cosmetic or dermatological field.
[0101] According to one embodiment, the present invention relates to a non-therapeutic method for caring for keratinous material, in particular hair, comprising the application of the oil composition according to the present invention to the skin, in particular the hair.
