AI Technical Summary
Existing hair styling products for curly hair often fail to provide durable lengthening and definition of curls without causing damage or requiring frequent washing, and they may leave a greasy residue or require chemical treatments.
Cosmetic compositions containing beta compounds and polysaccharides, optionally with additional components like film-forming polymers and anionic surfactants, are formulated to enhance curl length and definition, offering hydration and frizz control without rinsing.
The compositions effectively extend and define curls, providing hydration, softness, and frizz control, even in wet conditions, without the need for heating or frequent washing, and are suitable for various hair types and textures.

Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Compositions and methods for styling hair Technical field
[0001] The present disclosure relates to compositions comprising at least one betaine or salt thereof and at least one polysaccharide, and methods of using the compositions for styling hair. CONTEXT
[0002] Curly hair generally appears shorter than its actual length. In the multicultural beauty market, there is a desire for products that can elongate hair curls and give more visual length to the hair. In addition, reducing the curls of very curly hair can increase the manageability and ease of styling of this hair.
[0003] One concern that consumers with curly hair have is that their curly hair appears shorter than its actual length and / or that the curls are not sufficiently defined. In the multicultural beauty market, there is a desire for products that lengthen and / or define curls in order to enhance the natural curl pattern. Existing products on the market that help prevent curl shrinkage often use thick dosage forms with various butters or oils that can leave the hair feeling greasy or oily. Products that provide hold, such as styling gels, can also have lengthening effects, but these products typically flake off the hair. Therefore, the use of these hair lengthening products generally requires frequent washing of the hair, which is particularly undesirable for consumers who have pronounced curls and prefer a limited number of washes per week and who wish to maintain hairstyles that last all day or several days. In addition, traditional hair lengthening, including relaxing or straightening the hair, often involves chemical processing or high heat that can damage the hair fibers and / or irritate the scalp.
[0004] Also, consumers desire new and improved styling compositions that can deliver visible and long-lasting curl extension to the hair and / or provide visible and long-lasting curl definition and hold, particularly in humid conditions, and at the same time impart various additional beneficial properties to the hair such as moisture, softness, smoothness, good bounce, good shine, and / or control of the hair. frizz.
[0005] It has now been surprisingly discovered that cosmetic compositions comprising at least betaine and at least one polysaccharide are capable of improving the elongation of hair curls and / or providing definition and hold of curls, particularly in humid conditions, as well as providing other benefits such as hydration, softness, frizz control, and / or manageability to the hair. [0106] In certain embodiments, the compositions described herein are useful for increasing perceived hair length, reducing shrinkage of curly hair, and / or reducing hair frizz, particularly in humid and high humidity conditions (e.g., 80% relative humidity, 25°C), by providing long-lasting curl lengthening and / or curl definition of the hair, e.g., for example, providing long-lasting curl lengthening and / or curl definition for 1 hour or more, for 4 hours or more, for 8 hours or more, for 12 hours or more, for 16 hours or more, for 24 hours or more, or for 72 hours or more, after application of a composition according to the disclosure.
[0107] In other embodiments, the compositions are useful for improving curl definition and / or curl hold, and / or reducing frizz of hair, particularly in humid and high humidity conditions (e.g., 80% relative humidity, 25°C), by providing long-lasting curl elongation and / or curl definition of hair, e.g., for example, by providing elongation of long-lasting curls and / or long-lasting curl definition for 1 hour or more, 4 hours or more, 8 hours or more, 12 hours or more, 16 hours or more, 24 hours or more, or 72 hours or more, after application of a composition according to the disclosure.
[0108] In addition, the compositions may also be used to provide the hair with a variety of desirable sensory benefits, for example, hydration, softness, smoothness, bounce, and / or shine. As such, the compositions are useful for styling (including shaping) the hair while caring for, conditioning, and / or imparting to the hair one or more of the sensory benefits described above.
[0109] Typically, methods according to the disclosure may include applying an effective amount of a composition disclosed herein to hair having curls, when the hair is dry, wet, damp, or moist. As used herein, the term "effective amount" refers to an amount sufficient to provide a desired lengthening effect to the hair, taking into account the degree of curl, length, volume, and texture of the hair. Generally, about 0.5 grams to about 50 grams of product is applied to the hair, depending on the specific formulation of the product, the length of the hair, its volume, and the type of hairstyle. The composition applied to the hair may be distributed evenly by combing it with the fingers or a means such as a comb or the like. The composition may then be dried, for example, by air drying. The composition may be left on the hair as a leave-in product for any period of time necessary, for example, from about a few seconds (e.g. 1, 3, 5 or 10 seconds) to about 10, 20 or 30 minutes, or longer, for example a few hours or a few days, or until the next time the hair is washed or rinsed.
[0110] In some embodiments, before applying the composition to the hair, the hair may first be cleansed with a commercially available shampoo, or rinsed with water. The composition is then applied to the washed or rinsed hair while the hair is wet, damp, or moist. In other embodiments, before applying the composition to dry hair, the hair may optionally be dampened, moistened, or made wet by spraying with water or using a damp towel, or by applying other treatment compositions that make the hair moist, damp, or wet.
[0111] Alternatively, in some embodiments, the compositions of the disclosure may first be applied to dry hair, and then water or cosmetically acceptable compositions are applied to the hair to moisten, dampen, or wet the hair while the compositions of the disclosure remain on the hair. Hair to which the compositions have been applied disclosed herein may be air-dried without further hair treatment, including rinsing or washing the hair.
[0112] In some embodiments, the methods may optionally include braiding and / or twisting the hair to make curls, before or after applying the compositions disclosed herein. In some embodiments, the methods according to the disclosure do not require shaping or styling the hair before, during, and / or after applying the compositions. Tensioning the hair is generally not necessary. Also, in some embodiments, before, during, or after applying the compositions, the hair is not stretched by mechanical means.
[0113] In some embodiments, after applying the compositions described herein, the hair may be shaped or styled as needed, such as twisted or the like. In some embodiments, hair treated with the compositions may be twisted within 30 minutes, or within 20 minutes, while the hair is wet or damp.
[0114] The methods of the disclosure generally do not require the use of a reducing agent, including a base, or heating the hair to stretch the curls of the hair or lengthen the curls of the hair. Also, in at least some embodiments, the method does not include the use of a reducing agent, or a base, and / or does not require or include a step of heating the hair after applying the composition thereto in order to achieve the desired results.
[0115] In some embodiments, a composition disclosed herein is used alone to treat hair, without the use of other hair treatment compositions. In other embodiments, the compositions may be applied to the hair before, during, or after applying another hair treatment or styling composition, such as (e.g., a conditioner, mask, cream, lotion, gel, coloring composition, etc.), to the hair. Also, a composition disclosed herein may be applied to the hair and layered over another composition that is also applied to the hair.
[0116] In various embodiments, methods of treating hair with the compositions of the disclosure provide the hair with various long-lasting benefits described above, without greasy feeling or flaking, compared to hair that has not been treated with a composition of the disclosure. The term "long-lasting," as used herein, means that the lengthening effect and other benefits provided to the hair may remain for a desired period of time, such as a few hours, a few days, or until the hair is rinsed or washed.
[0117] Having described in detail the numerous embodiments of the present invention, it will be apparent that modifications and variations are possible without departing from the scope of the disclosure defined in the appended claims. Further, it should be appreciated that all examples of the present disclosure, while illustrating numerous embodiments of the disclosure, are provided by way of non-limiting examples and therefore should not be construed as limiting the various aspects thus illustrated. It is understood that all definitions herein are provided solely for the purposes of the present disclosure.
[0118] As used herein, the terms "comprising", "having" and "including" (or "comprise", "have" and "include") are used in their broad and non-limiting sense. The expression "consisting essentially of" limits the scope of a claim to the specified materials or steps and to those which do not materially affect the fundamental and novel characteristics of the compositions.
[0119] In this application, the use of the singular includes the plural, unless otherwise indicated. The singular forms "a", "an", "the", "the", "the" and "at least one" are understood to encompass the plural as well as the singular, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, and these expressions, as well as the expression "one or more" which means "at least one", are expressly intended to include the individual components as well as mixtures / combinations thereof. Similarly, the expression "a salt thereof" also refers to "salts thereof".Thus, when the disclosure refers to "an element selected from the group consisting of A, B, C, D, E, F, a salt thereof, or mixtures thereof," it indicates that one or more of A, B, C, D, and F may be included, one or more of a salt of A, a salt of B, a salt of C, a salt of D, a salt of E, and a salt of F may be included, or a mixture of any two of A, B, C, D, E, F, a salt of A, a salt of B, a salt of C, a salt of D, a salt of E, and a salt of F may be included.
[0120] In this document, the expressions "and mixtures thereof" "and a mixture thereof," "and combinations thereof" "and a combination thereof," "or mixtures thereof" "or a mixture thereof," "or combinations thereof" and "or a combination thereof," are used interchangeably to indicate that the list of components immediately preceding the expression, such as "A, B, C, D, or mixtures thereof" means that the component(s) may be selected from A, B, C, D, A+B, A+B+C, A+D, A+C+D, etc., without limitation of their variations. Thus, the components may be used individually or in any combination thereof.
[0121] For the purposes of this disclosure, it should be noted that, in order to provide a more concise description, some of the quantitative expressions given herein are not qualified by the term "about". It is understood that, that the Whether or not the term "approximately" is used explicitly, each quantity given herein is intended to refer to the actual value given, and it is also intended to refer to the approximation to that given value that would be reasonably inferred under ordinary skill in the art, including approximations due to experimental and / or measurement conditions of that given value. All ranges and quantities stated herein are intended to include sub-ranges and quantities using any disclosed point as a bound. Thus, a range of "1% to 10%, such as 2% to 8%, such as 3% to 5%" is intended to encompass ranges of "1% to 8%", "1% to 5%", "2% to 10%", and so on. All numbers, quantities, ranges, etc., are intended to be modified by the term "approximately", whether or not expressly stated.Similarly, a given range of "about 1% to 10%" is intended to have both its 1% and 10% bounds modified by the term "about." The term "about" is used herein to indicate a difference of up to + / - 10% of the stated number, such as + / - 9%, + / - 8%, + / - 7%, + / - 6%, + / - 5%, + / - 4%, + / - 3%, + / - 2%, or + / - 1%. Similarly, all bounds of the ranges are understood to be individually disclosed, so that, for example, a range of 1:2 to 2:1 is understood to disclose a ratio of both 1:2 and 2:1.
[0122] In this document, if a component is described as being present "in an amount up to" a certain amount, it is understood that this component is, in fact, present in the composition, i.e., it is present in an amount greater than 0%.
[0123] “Active ingredient” as used herein with respect to the percentage of an ingredient or raw material, refers to 100% activity of the ingredient or raw material.
[0124] All quantities stated herein relate to the amount of active ingredient unless otherwise stated.
[0125] All percentages, parts and ratios set forth herein are based on the total weight of the compositions of the present disclosure, unless otherwise indicated.
[0126] As used herein, the term "applying a composition to the hair" and variations thereof means contacting the hair with at least one of the compositions of the disclosure in any manner. It may also mean contacting the hair in an effective amount.
[0127] As used herein, the term "styling" hair is intended to include "shaping" hair or altering the shape of hair, such as, for example, lengthening hair curls or defining curls.
[0128] As used herein, the term “curly hair” means any hair including a curl or a wave. The curl can be natural or unnatural, that is, formed by chemical or physical treatment of the hair. The degree of curliness of the hair can vary and is not limited.
[0129] As used herein, hair having improved or enhanced curl definition may have curls shaped to appear as crisp (ringlet-like) curls rather than being crimped, curls that appear more individualized, curls that have a more closed appearance, and / or curls that have an enhanced visual appearance of hair color and / or highlights.
[0130] As used herein, the terms "elongation" and "stretching" of hair are interchangeable, and both refer to reducing the degree of waviness or frizziness and / or tightening of the waves or curls of the hair, and "enhancing the elongation" of the hair or the curls of the hair, and variations thereof, means that the length of the hair appears closer to the actual, uncurled length of the hair. Similarly, measuring or assessing the "elongation" of curly hair refers to the length of the hair maintained over a period of time, where hair with greater elongation or length retention has a longer appearance over that period.
[0131] A "leave-in" composition or product means a composition such as a hair treatment or styling composition that is not rinsed out and / or washed out with water or an acceptable solvent after applying the composition to the hair; instead, the composition is left on the hair for a desired period of time, e.g., 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours, up to 8 hours, overnight, or as long as necessary, until the next washing or rinsing of the hair.
[0132] In this document, the term “inorganic” refers to a material that does not include carbon.
[0133] As used herein, the term "high humidity" refers to conditions of relative humidity of at least 70% or more, such as relative humidity of at least 75% or more, or relative humidity of at least 80% or more.
[0134] As used herein, the term "organic" refers to a material that is produced substantially or essentially without the use of synthetic materials. "Organic materials" include materials consisting of organic compounds / molecules comprising at least one carbon atom.
[0135] The terms "substantially free" or "essentially free" as used herein mean that the specific material may be used in a manufacturing process in small quantities that do not materially affect the fundamental and novel characteristics of the compositions according to the disclosure. The terms may also mean that the specific material is not used in a manufacturing process but may still be present in a raw material that is included in the composition.
[0136] As used herein, the term "salts" throughout the disclosure may include salts having a counterion such as an alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, or ammonium counterion. This list of counterions is not, however, limiting.
[0137] As used herein, the term "substantially free" or "essentially free" means that the specific material may be present in small amounts that do not materially affect the fundamental and novel characteristics of the compositions according to the disclosure. For example, there may be less than 2% by weight of a specific material added to a composition, based on the total weight of the compositions (provided that an amount less than 2% by weight does not materially affect the fundamental and novel characteristics of the compositions according to the disclosure). Similarly, the compositions may include less than 2%, less than 1.5%, less than 1%, less than 0.5%, less than 0.1%, less than 0.05%, or less than 0.01%, or none of the specified materials.Furthermore, any components that are positively presented in the present disclosure may be negatively excluded from the claims, for example, a claimed composition may be "free", "substantially free" (or "substantially free") of one or more components that are positively presented in the present disclosure. The term "substantially free" or "substantially free" as used herein may also mean that the specific material is not added to the composition but may still be present in a starting material that is included in the composition.
[0138] As used herein, the term "surfactants", as well as any specifically identified surfactant, includes salts of surfactants, even if not explicitly mentioned.
[0139] As used herein, the term "synthetic" refers to a material that is not of natural origin. The terms "natural" and "of natural origin" mean a material of natural origin, such as derived from plants, which also cannot be subsequently chemically or physically modified. "Of plant origin" means that the material comes from a plant.
[0140] As used herein, the term "treat" (and its grammatical variations) refers to the application of the compositions of the present disclosure to the surface of keratinous materials, such as hair.
[0141] Unless expressly stated otherwise, it is not intended that any method disclosed herein be construed as requiring that its steps are performed in a specific order. Accordingly, where a method claim does not expressly state an order to be followed for its steps or where it is not specifically stated in the claims or descriptions that the steps are to be limited to a specific order, it is by no means intended that a particular order be inferred. EXAMPLES
[0142] The following examples are intended to be non-limiting and explanatory in nature only. In the examples, the amounts are expressed as a percentage by weight (% by weight) of active ingredients, relative to the total weight of the composition.
[0143] Example 1 - Compositions with xanthan gum and various concentrations of trimethylbetaine
[0144] Inventive compositions 1A-1D of Table 1 were prepared by combining xanthan gum with varying amounts of trimethylglycine in water, and the pH was corrected with a small amount of citric acid as necessary to achieve the specified pH value. A control (Cl) consisted of only water, and comparative compositions C2-C4 were prepared by adding the specified amounts of xanthan gum or trimethylglycine to water, and correcting the pH with a small amount of citric acid as necessary to achieve the specified pH value.
[0145] [Tables 1] Inventive Comparative Control Cl C2 C3 C4 IA IB IC 1D Xanthan gum 0.75 0.75 0.75 0.75 0.75 Trimethylglycine 0.1 5 0.1 0.5 1 5 Water 100 QS to 100 QS to 100 QS to 100 QS to 100 QS to 100 QS to 100 PH - 4.7 4.4 4.6 4.5 4.8 4.4 4.7
[0146] Identical strands of very curly hair were washed with a standard shampoo, rinsed, and detangled. Equal amounts of inventive compositions 1A-1D, control C1, or comparative compositions C2-C4 were applied to two separate strands of wet hair (sixteen strands in total) and distributed by raking through the curls to ensure even distribution (Time 0). The treated strands of hair were then allowed to air dry for 17 hours (Time 1). The treated strands were then placed in an 80% humidity chamber relative humidity at 25°C for 8 hours (Time 2). Hair strands treated with each of the compositions 1A-1D and C1-C4 were evaluated in terms of elongation (length retention), curl definition and frizz control.
[0147] [Fig.l] shows that at Time 2, each of the compositions 1A-1D containing xanthan gum and varying amounts of trimethylglycine surprisingly provided a significant improvement in length retention of very curly hair, compared to that provided by compositions C1-C4, even after high humidity. Visual inspection of the samples confirmed that compositions 1A-1D also provided surprisingly better curl definition and frizz control at each time point compared to compositions C1-C4.
[0148] Example 1 therefore demonstrates that xanthan gum combined with trimethylglycine in various concentrations and ratios surprisingly provides beneficial synergistic results for curly hair, particularly lengthening, curl definition and frizz control.
[0149] Example 2 - Compositions with xanthan gum and trimethylglycine at variable pH
[0150] Inventive compositions 2A-2E of Table 2 were prepared by combining identical amounts of xanthan gum and trimethylglycine with water in the amounts shown, and adding a pH adjuster (citric acid or trisodium citrate) in an amount sufficient to achieve the specified final pH. A control (Cl) consisted of only water.

[0152] Identical strands of very curly hair were washed with shampoo standard, rinsed and detangled (Time -1). Equal amounts of inventive compositions 2A-2E or control Cl were applied to two separate wet hair strands (twelve strands in total) and distributed by raking through the curls to ensure even distribution (Time 0). The treated hair strands were then allowed to air dry for 17 hours (Time 1). The treated strands were then placed in a humidity chamber at 80% relative humidity at 25°C for 8 hours. The hair strands treated with each of compositions 2A-2E and control Cl were evaluated for elongation (length retention), curl definition and frizz at Time 0, Time 1, and after 4 hours in the humidity chamber (Time 24h) and 8 hours in the humidity chamber (Time 28h).
[0153] [Fig.2A] is a graph showing the average elongation (length retention) of the strands at time 28h, and shows that the inventive compositions 2A-2E surprisingly provided better length retention to very curly hair compared to the control Cl over the range of pH values tested. [Fig.2B] shows that each of the strands treated with the inventive compositions 2A-2E demonstrated significantly better elongation, curl definition and frizz control than the strands treated with the control Cl over the range of pH values tested at each time point, even when subjected to high humidity.
[0154] Example 2 demonstrates that the combination of xanthan gum and trimethylglycine surprisingly provides synergistic benefits to curly hair, particularly lengthening, curl definition and frizz control, over a range of pH values.
[0155] Example 3 - Compositions with glycine and an anionic polysaccharide
[0156] Inventive composition 3A of Table 3 was prepared by combining xanthan gum and trimethylglycine in water, and the pH was corrected with a small amount of citric acid. A control (Cl) consisted of only water, and comparative compositions C5-C6 were prepared by adding the specified amounts of xanthan gum or trimethylglycine to water, and correcting the pH with a small amount of citric acid.
[0157] [Tables3] Inventive Comparative Control Cl C5 C6 3A Xanthan gum 0.75 0.75 Trimethylglycine 0.5 0.5 Citric acid QS QS QS Water 100 QS to 100 QS to 100 QS to 100
[0158] Identical strands of very curly hair were washed with a standard shampoo, rinsed, and detangled. Equal amounts of inventive composition 3A, control C1, or comparative compositions C5-C6 were applied to three separate strands of wet hair (twelve strands in total) and distributed by raking through the curls to ensure even distribution. The treated strands of hair were then allowed to air dry for 17 hours. The treated strands were then placed in a humidity chamber at 80% relative humidity at 25°C for 8 hours. The strands of hair treated with inventive composition 3A, control C1, or comparative compositions C5-C6 were evaluated for elongation (length retention), curl definition, and frizz control.
[0159] [Fig. 3] shows that, after 3 hours in the humidity chamber, the average length retention of strands treated with the inventive composition 3A surprisingly offered a significant improvement in the length retention of very curly hair, compared to that offered by compositions C1 or C5-C5, even after high humidity. Visual inspection of the samples confirmed that composition 3A also offered surprisingly better curl definition and frizz control at all times compared to compositions C1 or C5-C6.
[0160] Example 3 therefore demonstrates that xanthan gum in combination with tri-methylglycine surprisingly provides beneficial synergistic results for curly hair, particularly lengthening, curl definition and frizz control, even when subjected to high humidity.
[0161] Example 4 - Compositions with xanthan gum and various betaines
[0162] Inventive compositions 4A-4G of Table 4 were prepared by combining xanthan gum and the specified betaine(s) in water, and the pH was corrected with a small amount of citric acid. A control (Cl) consisted of only water, and comparative compositions C7-C14 were prepared by adding the specified amounts of xanthan gum or betaine(s) to water, and correcting the pH with a small amount of citric acid.

[0164] Identical locks of very curly hair were washed with a standard shampoo, rinsed and detangled (Time -1). Equal amounts of one of the inventive compositions 4A-4G, the control C1 or the comparative compositions C7-C14 were applied to two separate wet locks of hair (thirty-two locks) and distributed by raking through the curls to ensure even distribution (Time 0). The treated locks of hair were allowed to air dry for 17 hours (Time 1). The treated locks were then placed in a humidity chamber at 80% relative humidity at 25°C for 8 hours. Hair strands treated with compositions 4A-4G, Cl or C7-C14 were evaluated in terms of elongation (length retention), curl definition and frizz at Time 0, Time 1 and after 4 hours in the humidity chamber (Time 24h) and 8 hours in the humidity chamber (Time 28h).
[0165] [Fig.4A] shows that the inventive hair styling compositions 4A-4G surprisingly provided better length retention of very curly hair, compared to the control C1 or the comparative hair styling compositions C7-C14. [Fig.4B] shows that each of the strands treated with the inventive compositions 4A-4G demonstrated significantly better lengthening, curl definition and frizz control than the strands treated with the control Cl or the comparative compositions C7-C14 at all times, even when subjected to high humidity.
[0166] Example 4 therefore demonstrates that hair styling compositions according to the disclosure comprising xanthan gum in combination with various betaines or combinations of betaines surprisingly provide better elongation (length retention), curl definition and frizz control to curly hair than hair treatment compositions not according to the disclosure.
[0167] Example 5 - Synergy with betaines and polysaccharides
[0168] Inventive compositions 5A-5D of Table 5 were prepared by combining trimethylglycine and the specified polysaccharide in water, and the pH was corrected with a small amount of citric acid. Comparative compositions C15-C21 were prepared by adding the specified amounts of polysaccharide or carbomer to water, and correcting the pH with a small amount of citric acid.

[0170] Identical strands of very curly hair were washed with a standard shampoo, rinsed and detangled. Equal amounts of one of the inventive compositions 5A-5D or comparative compositions C15-C21 were applied to two separate strands of wet hair (twenty-two strands) and distributed by raking through through the curls to ensure even distribution. The treated hair strands were left to air dry for 12 hours and then placed in a humidity chamber at 80% relative humidity at 25°C for 8 hours. Hair strands treated with compositions 5A-5D or C15-C21 were evaluated for elongation (length retention).
[0171] [Fig. 5] shows that the inventive compositions 5A-5D demonstrated better length retention of the treated hair compared to the comparative compositions C7-C14, even when subjected to high humidity. In particular, the strands treated with a combination of betaine and polysaccharide demonstrated better length retention than the strands treated with a betaine and a non-polysaccharide film-forming polymer (carbomer). This result demonstrates the surprising and unexpected synergy between betaines and polysaccharides, including anionic and cationic polysaccharides (compositions 5A, 5B, 5C), in imparting length or curl extension to curly hair.
[0172] Example 5 therefore demonstrates that hair styling compositions according to the disclosure comprising a betaine in combination with a polysaccharide surprisingly provide better elongation (length retention) to curly hair than hair treatment compositions not according to the disclosure, even under high humidity conditions. Example 6 - Hair styling compositions
[0173] The inventive hair styling compositions 6A-6B of Table 6 were prepared as serums. The compositions had a pH in the range of 4.5-5.0,

[0175] Compositions 6A and 6B are hair styling compositions that can be applied to dry, damp, or wet hair to provide the hair with curl-lengthening, curl-defining, and / or frizz-reducing properties.
[0176] The above examples demonstrate that the compositions according to the disclosure provide surprising and unexpected synergistic benefits such as improved curl definition, curl elongation (length retention), and / or frizz control to the hair.
[0177] It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that various modifications and variations may be made to the compositions and methods according to the disclosure without departing from the spirit or scope of the disclosure. Thus, it is intended that the disclosure cover such modifications and variations and their equivalents.
