Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: VIBRATORY MODULE FOR A MANUAL CUTTING MACHINE, MANUAL CUTTING MACHINE, AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING A MANUAL CUTTING MACHINE Technical field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a vibratory module for a manual cutting machine, a manual cutting machine comprising such a vibratory module, and a method for improving a manual cutting machine. Technological background
[0002] The Chinese patent published under number CN 10 9079203 B describes an automatic cutting machine, i.e. one in which the cutting device is advanced by a motor, comprising a vibratory module (from the English "pecking").
[0003] Such a vibratory movement makes it possible in particular to better fragment the chips, and therefore to evacuate them or to suck them up more efficiently.
[0004] It could be advantageous to be able to add such a vibratory movement to a manual cutting machine, i.e. requiring the strength of the operator to carry out the machining phase.
[0005] In addition to chip fragmentation, this would make the cutting speed more regular during drilling, and therefore improve the quality of drilling in order to reduce the drilling cascades necessary to produce a finished hole. In addition, this would reduce the effort required, and therefore reduce musculoskeletal disorders for operators.
[0006] However, the vibratory module described in patent CN 10 9079203 B is not compatible with a manual cutting machine. Indeed, this vibratory module comprises a vibratory element and a vibration mechanism designed to give the vibratory element a reciprocating vibratory movement during its rotation. This vibratory module is designed to be mounted at the rear end of the shaft carrying the cutting tool, by screwing the vibratory element into this rear end in order to transmit the vibratory movement to the cutting tool. However, in a manual cutting machine, the rear end of the shaft carrying the cutting tool is located in the housing, where it is connected to the motor of the cutting machine. The rear end is therefore not accessible for mounting the vibratory module known from patent CN 10 9079203 B.
[0007] It may thus be desirable to provide a vibratory module compatible with a manual cutting machine. Summary of the invention
[0008] A vibratory module is therefore proposed for a manual cutting machine, characterized in that it comprises: - a housing intended to be fixed to a housing of the manual cutting machine; - a vibratory element mounted mobile, relative to the module housing vi vibratory, rotating around an axis and translating along this axis, the vibratory element having: • on one side along the axis, an axially grooved opening for receiving an axially grooved output shaft of the manual cutting machine, and • on the other side along the axis, a member for fixing a cutting device; and - a vibration mechanism designed to give the vibrating element a reciprocating movement along the axis on the output shaft of the manual cutting machine, when the vibrating element is rotated about the axis by the output shaft of the manual cutting machine.
[0009] The invention may further comprise one or more of the following optional features, in any technically possible combination.
[0010] Optionally, the fastener includes a threaded output shaft adapted to be screwed into a threaded inlet opening of the cutting device.
[0011] Also optionally, the housing has a thread designed to screw into a complementary thread in the housing of the manual cutting machine.
[0012] Also optionally, the vibration mechanism comprises rolling elements, such as balls, interposed between two annular surfaces, transverse to the axis, one belonging to the housing of the vibratory module and the other to the vibratory element, at least one of these annular surfaces having a relief.
[0013] Also optionally, the vibratory module further comprises a ball bearing interposed between the housing and the vibratory element.
[0014] A manual cutting machine is also proposed comprising: - a main body comprising: • a housing having a handle designed to be grasped by a human operator to operate the manual cutting machine, • a motor attached to the housing, and • an output shaft extending on an axis and driven by the motor; and - a cutting device; characterized in that the output shaft is grooved and in that it comprises a vibratory module according to the invention.
[0015] There is also provided a method of improving a manual cutting machine to obtain a manual cutting machine according to the invention, comprising: - a replacement of a threaded output shaft of the manual cutting machine by an axially grooved output shaft; - mounting the vibratory module on the manual cutting machine, by fixing the housings to each other and inserting the axially grooved output shaft into the axially grooved opening of the vibratory element; and - an attachment of the cutting device to the fixing member. Brief description of the figures
[0016] The invention will be better understood with the aid of the following description, given solely by way of example and with reference to the appended drawings in which: - [Fig. 1] is a side sectional view of an example of a manual cutting machine according to the invention, - [Fig.2] is a side sectional view of a vibratory module of the machine manual cutting of [Fig.l], - [Fig.3] is a block diagram of a method for improving a manual cutting machine, and - [Fig.4] is a side sectional view of the front manual cutting machine improvement. Detailed description of the invention
[0017] With reference to [Fig. 1], an example of a manual cutting machine 100 according to the invention will now be described. This manual cutting machine 100 is in particular designed to carry out drilling operations on parts of aeronautical structures.
[0018] The manual cutting machine 100 firstly comprises a main body 102.
[0019] The main body 102 comprises a housing 104 having a handle 106 designed to be grasped by a human operator in order to operate the manual cutting machine 100.
[0020] The main body 102 further comprises a motor 108 fixed to the housing 104 and having a rotor 110 rotating relative to the housing 104.
[0021] The main body 102 further comprises an output shaft 112 extending on an axis A and driven in rotation around this axis A by the motor 108, and more precisely by its rotor 110. For example, the output shaft 112 is fixed to the rotor 110. The output shaft 112 is axially grooved.
[0022] The manual cutting machine 100 further comprises a vibratory module 114 (of English: "pecking"), added for example in a removable manner to the main body 102.
[0023] The vibratory module 114 firstly comprises a housing 116 designed to be fixed to the housing 104 of the main body 102, for example by screwing. In the latter case, the housings 104, 116 thus comprise complementary threads.
[0024] The vibratory module 114 further comprises a vibratory element 118 mounted to move, relative to the housing 116, in rotation around the axis A and in translation along this axis A. The vibratory element 118 has, on one side of the vibratory element 118 along the axis A (to the left of the vibratory element 118 in [Fig. 1]), an inlet opening 120 designed to receive the output shaft 112 of the main body 102. This inlet opening 120 thus extends along the axis A and is axially grooved. The vibratory element 118 further comprises, on another side of the vibratory element 118 along the axis A (to the right of the vibratory element in [Fig. 1]), a member for fixing a cutting device 126 of the manual cutting machine 100. This member comprises, for example, an output shaft 122 extending, for example, along the axis A, and for example threaded.
[0025] The vibratory module 114 further comprises a vibration mechanism 124 designed to give the vibratory element 118 a back-and-forth vibratory movement along this axis A, relative to the housing 116, during its rotation around the axis A. The vibratory movement is generally very rapid. The vibration mechanism 124 is for example designed to make the vibratory element 118 make at least one back-and-forth movement with each rotation of the latter around the axis A. This back-and-forth movement along the axis A is of low amplitude, for example of an amplitude less than 0.5 mm, preferably of an amplitude between 0.1 mm and 0.2 mm. The vibration mechanism 124 will be described in more detail later, with reference to [Fig. 2].
[0026] The cutting device 126 comprises at least one cutting tool 128 such as a drill bit, a drill bit or a milling cutter. For example, the cutting device 126 further comprises a chuck 130 to which the cutting tool 128 is attached, as in the example of [Fig. 1].
[0027] The cutting device 126 is adapted to be attached to the vibratory element 118 in order to follow its rotation and reciprocating movement. For example, as in the illustrated example, the mandrel 130 has an inlet opening 132, which is threaded in order to receive the threaded output shaft 122.
[0028] With reference to [Fig.2], an exemplary embodiment of the vibratory module 114 will now be described.
[0029] The vibration mechanism 124 comprises, for example, rolling elements, such as balls 202 or rollers, interposed between two annular surfaces 204, 206, transverse to the axis A, one 204 belonging to the housing 116 and the other 206 to the vibratory element 118. The rolling elements are thus designed to rolling on these annular surfaces 204, 206 when the vibratory element 118 is rotated by the output shaft 112. At least one of these annular surfaces 204, 206 then has a relief so that the vibratory element 118 advances then retreats along the axis A, sliding on the output shaft 112. The vibration mechanism 124 may further comprise a spring 208 designed to push the vibratory element 118 axially, for example towards the main body 102, to keep the rolling elements clamped between the two annular surfaces 204, 206.
[0030] Furthermore, the vibratory module 114 preferably comprises a ball bearing 210 interposed between the housing 116 and the vibratory element 118, in order to facilitate the rotation of the latter.
[0031] With reference to [Fig.3], a method of improving a manual cutting machine will now be described.
[0032] During a step 302, a cutting machine as illustrated in [Fig. 4] is obtained. This cutting machine comprises in particular an output shaft 402 which is threaded to receive the cutting device 126, for example the inlet opening 132 of the mandrel 130, as in the example illustrated.
[0033] Returning to [Fig. 3], during a step 304, the cutting device 126 is separated from the output shaft 402.
[0034] During a step 306, the threaded output shaft 402 is replaced by the axially grooved output shaft 112.
[0035] During a step 308, the vibratory module 114 is mounted on the axially grooved output shaft 112. In particular, the housings 104, 116 are fixed to each other and the output shaft 112 is inserted into the opening 120 of the vibratory element 118.
[0036] During a step 310, the cutting device 126 is fixed to the fixing member, provided on the vibratory element 118. For example, the inlet opening 132 of the mandrel 130 is screwed onto the output shaft 122.
[0037] In conclusion, it will be noted that the invention is not limited to the embodiments described above. It will indeed appear to those skilled in the art that various modifications can be made to the embodiments described above, in the light of the teaching which has just been disclosed to them.
[0038] In the detailed presentation of the invention which is made above, the terms used must not be interpreted as limiting the invention to the embodiments set out in the present description, but must be interpreted to include all equivalents whose prediction is within the reach of those skilled in the art by applying their general knowledge to the implementation of the teaching which has just been disclosed to them.
