Description

Title of the invention: Applicator tip for cosmetic product, associated applicator and applicator assembly Technical field of the invention

[0001] The invention relates to an applicator tip for a cosmetic product, an associated applicator and applicator assembly.

[0002] The invention further relates to a method for manufacturing such an applicator tip. Technical background

[0003] Applicator assemblies for cosmetic products are known, for example for cosmetic products intended to be applied to the lips of a user. Said applicator assemblies comprise a container containing the cosmetic product and an applicator adapted to be removably attached to the container.

[0004] The container generally comprises a body, the body comprising walls defining a reservoir in which the cosmetic product is contained, and a neck defining an opening through which the cosmetic product can be extracted. The applicator generally comprises a cap adapted to be fixed on the neck, a stem extending from the cap and an applicator tip fixed to a free end of the stem.

[0005] When the cap is attached to the neck, the rod and the applicator tip extend inside the reservoir. The applicator is immersed in the cosmetic product contained in the reservoir.

[0006] To use the applicator, the user detaches the cap from the neck and removes the applicator from the container.

[0007] Conventionally, these applicator tips are made of plastic and have a spatula-shaped area intended to come into contact with the parts to be made up, in particular to load them with cosmetic product. However, the spatula-shaped area usually only allows local application of cosmetic product, for example on one lip at a time. The spatula also has an uncomfortable rigidity when pressure is exerted on the part to be made up.

[0008] There are also applicator tips having a curved envelope, such as a spherical envelope. These applicator tips have an application surface which allows application of cosmetic product to both lips of the user at the same time.

[0009] However, these applicator tips require several passes to even out the application, or even refilling them to be able to cover the entire surface. desired.

[0010] Furthermore, these applicator tips have flexibility at the level of their core which provides flexibility at the time of application but which can also give a feeling of poor quality of the applicator tip.

[0011] There is therefore a need to improve applicator tips for cosmetic products, in particular to obtain applicator tips which make it possible to apply makeup, in a single application, to a large area of the user, for example both lips, while maintaining comfort of use when applying makeup, i.e. having good restitution of the stored cosmetic product while having ease and comfort of use. Summary of the invention

[0012] Thus, the invention relates to an applicator tip for a cosmetic product extending along a longitudinal extension direction, called the main direction, and comprising a fixed core and a metal applicator head movable in rotation relative to the core.

[0013] The applicator head comprises an envelope delimiting an internal cavity in which the core is housed, the envelope comprising at least one through-orifice.

[0014] The applicator head is thus movable in rotation relative to the core, in particular during the application of the cosmetic product. In other words, the applicator head rotates around the core on which it is mounted when the user applies the cosmetic product to the area to be made up. This rotational movement relative to the core allows restitution, in particular through the at least one through-orifice, of the cosmetic product contained in the cavity of the applicator head so as to improve the application which is more homogeneous.

[0015] Thus, the cavity serves not only to receive the core but also as a storage volume for the cosmetic product.

[0016] The metallic material of the applicator head gives it a certain rigidity.

[0017] This means that the applicator head does not deform, in particular at a pressure exerted by a user's fingers or when removing the applicator tip from the container containing the cosmetic product.

[0018] In particular, the applicator head is more rigid than an applicator head of a conventional applicator tip made of so-called soft or flexible plastic, which is deformable and crushes in particular when pressure is exerted by a user, for example when touching the part to be made up, such as the user's lips or when leaving the container.

[0019] This metallic material of the applicator head also provides a sensation of freshness, called a cold effect, when applying the cosmetic product.

[0020] The metallic side of the applicator head also provides a qualitative effect through its appearance but also by its heaviness unlike classic plastic applicator tips.

[0046] - the applicator tip is obtained without assembly and / or deformation,

[0047] - the applicator tip is obtained by additive manufacturing.

[0048] The invention also relates to an applicator assembly for a cosmetic product, comprising:

[0049] - a container comprising a body forming a reservoir intended to contain the product cosmetics, and

[0050] - an applicator tip as described above adapted to be fixed on the container, so that the applicator tip is housed inside the reservoir.

[0057] The manufacturing process comprises:

[0058] - a step of developing a digital model of the applicator tip;

[0059] - a step of manufacturing the applicator tip using the digital model.

[0060] Advantageously, the manufacturing step involves unsolidified material and comprises a sub-step of removing the material through the at least one through-orifice. Brief description of the figures

[0071] - [Fig.10] is a longitudinal sectional view of a rod and an applicator tip according to an alternative embodiment of the invention,

[0072] - [Fig.l 1] is a longitudinal sectional view of a rod and an applicator tip according to an alternative embodiment of the invention. Detailed description of the invention

[0073] By convention, the longitudinal direction corresponds in the figures to that of the main X axis of an applicator tip or an applicator assembly for a cosmetic product, and the “radial” or “transverse” direction is orthogonal to the longitudinal direction.

[0074] As illustrated in Figures 1 to 8, the invention relates to an applicator tip 1 for a cosmetic product extending along a longitudinal extension direction, called the main direction X, and comprising a fixed core 3 and an applicator head 5.

[0075] The cosmetic product is a fluid product, in particular a product intended to be applied to the lips of a user.

[0076] According to the invention, the applicator head 5 is metallic and movable in rotation relative to the core 3.

[0077] The applicator head 5 further comprises an envelope 7 delimiting an internal cavity 9 in which the core 3 is housed, the envelope 7 comprising at least one through-orifice 11.

[0078] The applicator head 5 is thus movable in rotation relative to the core 3, in particular during the application of the cosmetic product. In other words, the applicator head 5 rotates around the core 3 on which it is mounted when the user applies the cosmetic product to the area to be made up. This rotational movement relative to the core 3 allows restitution, in particular by the at least one through-orifice 11, of the cosmetic product contained in the cavity 9 of the applicator head 5 so as to improve the application which is more homogeneous.

[0079] Thus, the cavity 9 serves not only to receive the core 3 but also as a storage volume for the cosmetic product.

[0080] The metallic material of the applicator head 5 gives it a certain rigidity.

[0081] This means that the applicator head 5 does not deform, in particular at a pressure exerted by the fingers of a user or when removing the applicator tip 1 from a container 13 containing the cosmetic product.

[0082] In particular, the applicator head 5 is more rigid than an applicator head of a conventional applicator tip made of so-called soft or flexible plastic, which is deformable and crushes. in particular to pressure exerted by a user, for example when touching the part to be made up, such as the user's lips or even when leaving the container 13.

[0083] This metallic material of the applicator head 5 also provides a sensation of freshness, called a cold effect, when applying the cosmetic product.

[0084] The metallic side of the applicator head 5 also provides a qualitative effect through its appearance but also through its heaviness unlike conventional plastic applicator tips.

[0085] Preferably, the type of metal of the applicator head 5 is chosen from aluminum, aluminum alloys, steel, zamak, gold, stainless steel or any metal usable in jewelry or a mixture thereof. The applicator head 5 may be coated with a protective layer.

[0086] Advantageously, the applicator head 5 is capable of retaining cosmetic product when it is brought into contact with it, and of subsequently releasing it during application to the surface to be made up.

[0087] The core 3 extends from a fixed proximal end to a free distal end. The fixed end is connected to a sleeve 15 and / or to a rod 17.

[0088] The free end is housed in the cavity 9 of the applicator head 5.

[0089] Thus, the applicator tip 1 may comprise a sleeve 15. The sleeve 15 is intended to be assembled to the rod 17 to form an applicator 18. The sleeve 15 extends in the extension of the core 3 in the direction opposite to that which points towards the distal end of the applicator tip 1.

[0090] Advantageously, the sleeve 15 is in continuity with the fixed end of the core 3.

[0091] The core 3 can be straight and aligned with the axis X of the sleeve 15 and the rod 17 as illustrated in [Fig.9].

[0092] It is also possible to envisage that the core 3 is inclined along an axis A as illustrated in [Fig.10]. The core 3 then forms an angle with the sleeve 15 and the rod 17.

[0093] It is also possible to envisage that the core 3 is curved along an axis of curvature B as illustrated in [Fig. 11].

[0094] Advantageously, the core 3 is made of metal and / or plastic.

[0095] Preferably, the core 3 is made of metal. This is for example aluminum, aluminum alloys, steel, zamak, gold, stainless steel or any metal usable in jewelry or a mixture thereof. The core 3 may be coated with a protective layer.

[0096] This makes it possible to limit the flexibility of the core 3 so that the applicator tip 1 does not flex during the application of the cosmetic product. Thus, the core 3 does not have a flex point and only the applicator head 5 is movable relative to the core 3 during the application of the cosmetic product.

[0097] Advantageously, the plastic is a rigid plastic so that the applicator tip 1 does not flex during application of the cosmetic product. It is, for example, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), and / or polyethylene (PE).

[0098] Advantageously, the applicator head 5 is also movable in translation relative to the core 3.

[0099] In particular, the applicator head 5 has mobility in vertical translation relative to the core 3.

[0100] The applicator head 5 also has mobility in transverse translation relative to the core 3.

[0101] Added to the rotational mobility of the applicator head 5, the translational mobility makes it possible to improve the restitution of the cosmetic product contained in the cavity 9.

[0102] In other words, the applicator head 5 is movable in all directions and along all axes, which allows for homogeneous restitution and application of the cosmetic product.

[0103] Advantageously, the casing 7 comprises a plurality of through-orifices 11.

[0104] Preferably, the through-orifices 11 are slots. The slots may extend longitudinally or horizontally on the surface of the casing 7 and / or with a helical orientation.

[0105] The slot shape of the through orifices 11 makes it possible to improve the restitution of the cosmetic product and make the application more homogeneous.

[0106] Figures 1 to 8 illustrate four embodiments of applicator tips 1 for cosmetic product according to the invention.

[0107] In the first embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 and 2, the applicator tip 1 for cosmetic product comprises an applicator head 5 having a generally spherical shape and a core 3 also having a generally spherical shape.

[0108] As can be seen in [Fig.2], the core 3 is in particular of a shape complementary to the spherical cavity 9 delimited by the casing 7 of the applicator head 5.

[0109] In other words, the applicator head 5 envelops the core 3 which is in the form of a ball linked to a sleeve 15 by a narrow portion 19 in the form of a cylindrical section.

[0110] The narrow portion 19 in the form of a cylindrical section also makes it possible to create an additional load zone.

[0111] The narrow portion 19 of the core 3 cooperates with an opening 21 of narrow section of the applicator head 5. In other words, the casing 7 of the applicator head 5 comprises an opening 21 opposite its distal end through which the core 3 passes, the free end of which is a ball, which makes it possible to retain the applicator head 5 on the core 3.

[0112] The applicator head 5 is thus mounted to move relative to the core 3 but cannot be detached from it.

[0113] The envelope 7 comprises a plurality of through-orifices 11 regularly distributed over the surface of the envelope 7.

[0114] The orifices are longitudinally extending slots having a helical orientation on the surface of the casing 7.

[0115] In the second embodiment illustrated in Figures 3 and 4, the applicator tip 1 for cosmetic product comprises an applicator head 5 having a generally oblong shape and more particularly in the shape of a drop of water. The applicator head 5 thus extends from a narrow proximal end to a wide and rounded distal end.

[0116] As can be seen in [Fig.4], the core 3 is in particular of a shape complementary to the spherical cavity 9 delimited by the casing 7 of the applicator head 5. The core 3 thus has a generally oblong shape and more particularly in the shape of a drop of water.

[0117] In other words, the core 3 thus extends from a narrow fixed proximal end linked to the sleeve 15 towards a wide and rounded distal end.

[0118] The narrow portion 19 of the core 3 cooperates with the narrow opening 21 of the casing 7 of the applicator head 5 opposite its distal end. Thus, the core 3, the free end of which is rounded, passes through the narrow opening 21 of the applicator head, which makes it possible to retain the applicator head 5 on the core 3.

[0119] The applicator head 5 is thus mounted to move relative to the core 3 but cannot be detached from it.

[0120] Here again, the envelope 7 comprises a plurality of through-orifices 11 regularly distributed on the surface of the envelope 7 which are slots extending longitudinally and having a helical orientation on the surface of the envelope 7.

[0121] In the third embodiment illustrated in Figures 5 and 6, the applicator tip 1 for cosmetic product comprises an applicator head 5 having a generally oblong shape and more particularly in the shape of a cylinder, in particular, a cylinder comprising a circular cross-section and a concave longitudinal wall 23.

[0122] As can be seen in [Fig.6], the proximal end of the applicator head 5 comprises a narrow opening 21 through which the core 3 passes.

[0123] The core 3 is in particular of a shape complementary to the spherical cavity 9 delimited by the envelope 7 of the applicator head 5. The core 3 thus has a generally oblong shape and more particularly in the form of a cylinder, in particular, a cylinder comprising a circular cross-section and a concave longitudinal wall 25.

[0124] This cylindrical part is connected to the sleeve 15 by a portion 19 of narrow section which passes through the narrow opening 21 of the casing 7, which makes it possible to retain the applicator head 5 on the core 3.

[0125] The applicator head 5 is thus mounted to move relative to the core 3 but cannot be detached from it.

[0126] Here again, the envelope 7 comprises a plurality of through-orifices 11 regularly distributed on the surface of the envelope 7 which are slots extending longitudinally on the surface of the envelope 7.

[0127] The slots have a narrow end 11a and a wide end 11b which alternate circumferentially on the surface of the envelope 7.

[0128] In the fourth embodiment illustrated in Figures 7 and 8, only the applicator head 5 is visible.

[0129] The applicator head 5 has a generally oblong shape and more particularly in the form of a cylinder ending in a cone 27.

[0130] As can be seen in [Fig.8], the proximal end of the applicator head 5 comprises a narrow opening 21 through which the core 3 passes, which makes it possible to retain the applicator head 5 on the core 3.

[0131] The applicator head 5 is thus mounted to move relative to the core 3 but cannot be detached from it.

[0132] Here again, the envelope 7 comprises a plurality of through-orifices 11 which are here circular and distributed over the surface of the envelope 7.

[0133] The applicator head 5 also comprises a through orifice 11 at its distal end.

[0134] The envelope 7 further has on its external surface a plurality of hollows, here circular hollows 29, in which cosmetic product can accumulate to increase the storage capacity of the applicator tip 1.

[0135] The conical tip of the applicator head 5 makes it possible to have a finer application zone, that is to say a more precise application zone. This conical tip further comprises on the external surface of the casing 7 elongated hollows 31 converging towards the through orifice 11 of its distal end. These elongated hollows 31 make it possible to restore the cosmetic product which is dispensed through this orifice 11.

[0136] Advantageously, the applicator head 5 is a single monolithic part and the applicator tip 1 is obtained without assembly and / or deformation. In other words, the applicator tip 1 is not obtained by assembly and / or deformation.

[0137] Assembly is understood here as the act of putting together, bringing together at least two isolated elements, but does not exclude the possibility of several stages.

[0138] Preferably, the applicator tip 1 described above is obtained by an additive manufacturing process.

[0139] Deformation is understood as, for example, an increase in the dimension of the narrow opening 21 of the applicator head 5, caused by a forced entry of the core 3 into the cavity 9.

[0140] Additive manufacturing process means a manufacturing process by adding material, generally computer-assisted. Such a manufacturing process is also called three-dimensional printing or 3D printing.

[0141] Advantageously, the use of three-dimensional printing can make it possible to produce in a single manufacturing step an applicator tip 1 comprising a fixed core 3 and a metal applicator head 5 movable in rotation relative to the core 3, the applicator head 5 comprising a casing 7 delimiting an internal cavity 9 in which the core 3 is housed, the casing 7 comprising at least one through-orifice 11.

[0142] Such an applicator tip 1 could prove very complex or even impossible to obtain by a conventional injection molding process, in particular without assembly or deformation of at least one part of the applicator tip 1, in particular of the applicator head 5. It is thus possible to produce, directly and by a single manufacturing operation, the applicator tip 1. In addition, this technique makes it possible to avoid the use of complex molds.

[0143] It may also be envisaged as an alternative embodiment that three-dimensional printing is used to form the applicator tip 1 with the sleeve 15 and / or the rod 17.

[0144] Different additive manufacturing technologies known to those skilled in the art can be used. In particular, these may be:

[0145] - fused deposition modeling (FDM),

[0146] - selective laser melting (SLM),

[0147] - selective laser sintering (SLS),

[0148] - electron beam melting (EBM),

[0149] - metal binder jetting (MJB).

[0150] The invention also relates to a method of manufacturing an applicator tip 1 as described above. The method comprises:

[0151] - a step of developing a digital model of the applicator tip 1;

[0152] - a step of manufacturing the applicator tip 1 using the digital model.

[0153] Preferably, the manufacturing method involves unsolidified material. The manufacturing method then comprises a step of removing the material through the at least one through-orifice 11.

[0154] The digital model is a computer file which corresponds to a virtual model of the applicator tip 1. To obtain it, the applicator tip 1 is first modeled so as to obtain a CAD model which is then converted into an appropriate format such as a 3D file. The file is then used on a machine of fa additive manufacturing. When reading it, the digital model is divided into a certain number of layers depending on the desired precision. Preferably, the layers correspond to a cross-section of the applicator tip 1, i.e. a section of the applicator tip 1 taken in a plane perpendicular to the main direction X.

[0155] The materials suitable for manufacturing the applicator head 5 or the applicator tip 1 by three-dimensional printing are aluminum, aluminum alloys, steel, zamak, gold, stainless steel or any metal usable in jewelry or a mixture thereof.

[0156] Preferably, the technology used is MJB technology.

[0157] This MJB technology comprises a manufacturing step in two main stages.

[0158] A first step in which the shape of the part is given by a "printer" which projects a binder layer after layer, onto a bed of metal powder, in order to agglomerate the metal particles which constitute the shape of the part. This first step involves unsolidified material, i.e. unagglomerated metal powder. This metal powder is advantageously removed by the at least one through-orifice 11 of the casing 7 of the applicator head 5 in a material removal sub-step.

[0159] A second step gives the part its final characteristics by sintering the metal powder. The binder is removed during this heat treatment cycle which gives the parts their final mechanical characteristics.

[0160] [Fig.9] illustrates an applicator assembly for a cosmetic product, comprising:

[0161] - a container 13 comprising a body forming a reservoir intended to contain the cosmetic product, and

[0162] - an applicator tip 1 adapted to be fixed on the container 13, so that the applicator tip 1 is housed inside the reservoir. It is thus immersed in the cosmetic product.

[0163] [Fig.9] also illustrates the sleeve 15 assembled with the rod 17 of the applicator 18, also called the handling rod 17.

[0164] In other embodiments not shown, the rod 17 may comprise several applicator tips 1. Each applicator tip 1 may have the same axis of rotation or each applicator tip 1 may have a different axis of rotation.

[0165] The rod 17 allows, among other things, manipulation of said applicator tip 1. More precisely, the applicator 18 comprises a closing cap 33 adapted to be manipulated by the user and the rod 17 advantageously extends from the cap 33.

[0166] It should be noted, here, that the plug 33 is formed of a head made from the same material as the rod 17, and of a cover force-fitted and held in position on the rod head 17 using internal counterforms intended to cooperate with shapes made on the head. The cap is rigid. Here, by "rigid", we mean not deformable either at atmospheric pressure or at pressure exerted by the fingers of a user. It is with the aid of said cap that the user manipulates the applicator of the invention, in particular because the cap imparts the movement that the user gives it to the head of the rod 17, which itself transmits this movement to the sleeve 15 with which it is assembled.

[0167] The stopper 33 is intended to be removably attached to an opening belonging to the container 13. Said opening is here the neck 35 through which the cosmetic product can be extracted.

[0168] It should be noted that the sleeve 15 and the rod 17 each have a substantially cylindrical shape and a main direction of longitudinal extension coincident with the main direction X.

[0169] Here, the assembly between the sleeve 15 and the rod 17 is a recess. Alternatively, the applicator tip 1 may be overmolded onto or through the rod 17 or obtained in a single piece, for example by additive manufacturing.

[0170] The container 13 comprises a wringer 37, intended to be fixed inside said neck 35.

[0171] The wiper 37 comprises a wiper orifice configured to scrape excess cosmetic product from the rod 17 and the applicator tip 1 as they pass through it.

[0172] In particular, the mobility of the applicator head 5 allows effective wringing of the applicator tip 1, in particular of the cosmetic product stored in the cavity 9 delimited by the casing 7 of the applicator head 5.

[0173] Advantageously, the applicator assembly can be obtained in whole or in part by three-dimensional printing.

[0174] To obtain additional advantageous effects, the embodiments may be combined without departing from the scope of the invention.
