Description

Title of the invention: Arrangement of a modular storage device for a motor vehicle trunk

[0001] The invention relates to an arrangement of a modular storage device inside a motor vehicle trunk, delimited by two parallel longitudinal side walls, a transverse front and rear wall, and a horizontal bottom wall, the storage device comprising two lateral support elements fixed to the side walls of the trunk, a false floor comprising three panels and three storage bins, the false floor and the bins being removable.

[0002] Such arrangements make it possible to delimit, inside the trunk, separate storage areas for storing specific items or a small number of items, so as to prevent them, for example, from moving or getting mixed up in the trunk while the vehicle is moving, thereby risking damage and, in addition, generating annoying noises as they move.

[0003] Various solutions are known in the state of the art for achieving such compartmentalization.

[0004] Patent US7665790B2 describes such a compartmentalization device.

[0005] However, it has the disadvantage of not being sufficiently modular.

[0006] In order to overcome these drawbacks, the invention relates to an arrangement of a modular storage device.

[0007] To this end, the invention proposes an arrangement of a storage device of the type cited above, characterized in that the front, central and rear storage bins extend between the lateral support elements and are arranged one behind the other on the bottom wall of the trunk and in that the false floor is able to occupy a first position of use in which its panels are placed horizontally above the storage bins, resting on horizontal edges carried by the lateral support elements and a second position of use in which at least one of the rear or central panels is arranged vertically, its end edges being received in at least one holding means carried by the lateral support elements.

[0008] According to other characteristics of the invention:

[0009] - The holding means is a vertical groove formed in the support edge of the raised floor opposite an area located between two storage bins so that the panel is received vertically between two bins.

[0010] - The arrangement comprises a front holding means and a holding means rear, so that in the position of use, the rear panel is able to be received between the rear tray and the central tray and the central panel is suitable for being received between the central tray and the front tray.

[0011] - The central and front storage bins have a rib at their base ridge for wedging the storage bins in relation to each other, the length of the rib being equal to the thickness of a panel.

[0012] - The lateral support elements comprise at least one upper holding means additional means arranged between the front and rear holding means so that the panel is able to be held vertically in an intermediate position in the absence of a tray.

[0013] - The rear holding means comprises a stop for limiting the movement of the central panel in a longitudinal direction when placed horizontally on the support edges.

[0014] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear on reading the description of exemplary embodiments of an arrangement of a storage device inside a motor vehicle trunk with reference to the appended drawings in which:

[0015] [Fig-1] [Fig. 1] is a perspective view of an arrangement of a storage device according to the invention in a first possible configuration of use.

[0016] [Fig.2] [Fig.2] is a perspective view of the arrangement of [Fig.l] in a second possible configuration of use.

[0017] [Fig.3] [Fig.3] is a perspective view of a first detail of the arrangement.

[0018] [Fig.4] [Fig.4] is a perspective view of the detail of [Fig.3], the device of storage being in a third configuration of use.

[0019] [Fig.5] [Fig.5] is a perspective view of a second detail of the arrangement.

[0020] In the following description, we will take, without limitation, a longitudinal, vertical and transverse orientation indicated by the trihedron L,V,T of figures 1 to 5.

[0021] Identical or similar elements are designated by the same reference numerals.

[0022] With the exception of the specific elements of the driving position, the vehicle has a general symmetry with respect to a median longitudinal plane.

[0023] As shown in Figures 1 and 2, a trunk 10 of a motor vehicle (not shown) is delimited by a bottom wall 12, two side walls 14, a rear transverse wall (not shown) and a front transverse wall 18, formed here by the backs of a row of seats 20.

[0024] A modular storage device 22 comprises two lateral support elements 24, which are fixed to the side walls 14 of the trunk 10. The device also comprises removable elements, such as storage bins 26A, 26B and 26C, a false floor 28 composed of three identical and independent front panels 28A, central 28B and rear 28C.

[0025] The storage bins 26A, 26B and 26C are placed on the back wall 12 of the trunk one behind the other, the front bin 26A being against the front wall 18, the rear bin 26C being against the rear wall of the trunk and the central bin 26B being between the front bin 26A and the rear bin 26C.

[0026] The panels 28A, 28B and 28C of the false floor 28 are removable and are capable of occupying a first configuration in which they extend horizontally above the trays 26A, 26B and 26C.

[0027] The support elements 24 are symmetrical. Only one of the elements 24 will therefore be described.

[0028] As described in Figures 3 and 4, the support element 24 is in the form of an elongated plate oriented along a longitudinal plane comprising an outer face 240 facing the side wall 14 and an inner face 242 facing the inside of the box 10. The inner face 242 of the support element 24 is provided with a horizontal rim 30 intended to receive the panels 28A, 28B and 28C of the false floor 28. The support rim 30 is arranged at a distance D from an upper horizontal edge 244 of the element 24 corresponding to the thickness of a panel 28A, 28B, 28C so that the false floor 28 in the horizontal position is flush with the edge 244.

[0029] The support element 24 is also provided on its inner face 242 with a front holding means 32 and a rear holding means 34 intended to cooperate with a lateral edge 280B, respectively 280C of the panel 28B, respectively 28C arranged along a transverse plane.

[0030] The holding means 32 and 34 are formed respectively by a vertical groove 302, 304 formed in the horizontal edge 30. The width of the grooves 302 and 304 is slightly greater than the thickness E of the panels 28B and 28C.

[0031] The grooves 302 and 304 are located on the rim 30 so that they are opposite a space L situated between respectively the front tray 26A and the central tray 26B and between the central tray 26B and the rear tray 26C so that the panels 28B and 28C can be arranged vertically respectively between the front tray 26A and the central tray 26B and between the central tray 26B and the rear tray 26C.

[0032] In front of the groove 304, a stop 306 makes it possible to limit the longitudinal movements of the central panel 28B when the vehicle is moving.

[0033] The support element 24 further comprises on its inner face 242 at least one additional holding means 36 located between the front holding means 32 and the rear holding means 34. The additional holding means 36 is a vertical groove 308 formed in the rim 30 whose width is slightly greater than the thickness of a panel. The support element 24 may comprise two additional holding means 36, one located between the rear means 34 and the front means 32 and the other located in front of the front holding means 32.

[0034] The additional holding means 36 thus makes it possible to hold one of the panels 28A, 28B, 28C vertically when the storage bins 26A, 26B, 26C are removed from the trunk.

[0035] As described in [Fig. 5], the trays 26A, 26B and 26C comprise, at their base, a horizontal rib 260 whose length is equal to the thickness E of a panel, which makes it possible to wedge the trays 26A, 26B, 26C relative to each other and to provide sufficient space between them to be able to insert a panel 28A, 28B, 28C between them without difficulty.

[0036] Thus, according to the embodiment described here, the storage device can occupy a first configuration in which, as visible in [Fig. 1], the bins 26A, 26B and 26C are placed one behind the other on the bottom 12 of the trunk and the panels 28A, 28B and 28C are arranged horizontally one behind the other, resting on the edges 30 of the support elements 24.

[0037] In a second configuration of use, shown in [Fig. 2], the central panel 28B is arranged between the front tray 26A and the central tray 26B, its lateral edges 280B being inserted inside the front holding means 32. Similarly, the rear panel 28C is arranged between the central tray 26B and the rear tray 26C, its lateral edges cooperating with the rear holding means 34. The panels thus make it possible to delimit spaces inside the trunk so as to prevent untimely movements of the objects stored there when the vehicle is moving.

[0038] In a third configuration of use, shown in [Fig.4], the lateral edges 280B of the central panel 28B are inserted into the additional holding means 36 so that the panel arranged in a transverse plane compartmentalizes the trunk when there are no bins 26A, 26B 26C. This configuration thus makes it possible to prevent large objects from moving inside the trunk when the vehicle is moving.

[0039] In a fourth configuration of use, not shown, the two panels 28B and 28C are arranged vertically in the additional holding means 36.

[0040] Panels 28A, 28B and 28C are identical and interchangeable, as are trays 26A, 26B and 26C

[0041] It is also possible to provide, as variants, a combination of the preceding embodiments.

[0042] The number of storage bins or partitions, their dimensions as well as the number of holding means can vary while remaining within the scope of the invention.

[0043] The storage device according to the invention thus offers the possibility of having Several configurations are possible depending on the number of panels and bins used. Depending on the different configurations, it is then possible to adapt the number of storage spaces.
