[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of chairs, particularly medical chairs, and more specifically to the technical field of armrests for such chairs. Chairs are traditionally equipped with one or two armrests. Demands

1. Armrest system (10) for a chair (100), said system comprising: - an armrest (12) having a post (20) extending in a substantially vertical longitudinal direction (L) and a support element (14) extending transversely to said post and on which a user can rest their elbow; and - a plate (40) comprising an opening (42) passing through the plate and defining a housing (44) configured to receive said armrest post for mounting said plate to said post, said plate being locked transversely to said post by cooperation of form between said housing and said post.

2. Armrest system according to claim 1, wherein said armrest (12) upright (20) comprises a mounting base (24) and a movable rod (22) mounted to slide relative to said mounting base in said longitudinal direction (L), said tray (40) being mounted to said mounting base.

3. Armrest system according to claim 2, wherein the cross-section of the mounting base (24), considered in a plane (P) perpendicular to the longitudinal direction (L) of the upright (20), corresponds to the shape of the housing (44) of the tray (40) considered in said plane.

4. Armrest system according to claim 2 or 3, wherein said mounting base (24) has a rear face (32) extending parallel to said longitudinal direction (L) and wherein said tray (40) has at least a rear portion (48) coming into contact with said rear face of the mounting base.

Armrest system according to claim 4, wherein said rear portion (48) of the tray (40) comprises a first wing (50) and a second wing (52), said first wing coming into contact with a first lateral edge (32a) of said rear face (32) of the mounting base (24) while the second wing comes into contact with a second lateral edge (32b) of the rear face of the mounting base, said first and second wings being spaced apart.

6. Armrest system according to claim 5, wherein said movable rod (22) has at least a width (d), the distance (D) between the first and second wings (50,52) being greater than said width.

Armrest system according to any one of claims 2 to 6, wherein said mounting base (24) has a curved front face (30) extending along said longitudinal direction (L), and wherein the housing (44) of the tray (40) includes a portion of curved inner edge (47) cooperating with said front face of the mounting base.

Armrest system according to any one of claims 2 to 7, wherein said mounting base (24) comprises a rack portion (34) comprising an alternation of notches (35) and recesses (36), and wherein said movable rod (22) comprises at least one locking member (38) configured to engage with the recesses of the rack portion to block the sliding of said movable rod relative to said mounting base.

9. Armrest system according to any one of claims 1 to 8, wherein said housing (44) has a longitudinally truncated oblong shape.

10. Armrest system according to any one of claims 1 to 9, wherein said tray (44) is mounted sliding relative to said upright (20) of the armrest (12), along said longitudinal direction (L).

11. Armrest system according to claim 10, wherein the upright (20) of the armrest (12) comprises at least one transverse stop element (54,56) on which the tray (40) is configured to rest, in order to limit the downward sliding of the tray relative to said upright (20) in said longitudinal direction (40).

12. Armrest system according to any one of claims 1 to 11, wherein said tray (40) is configured to be mounted to the upright (20) in a removable manner.

13. Armrest system according to any one of claims 1 to 12, further comprising an IV pole (45) mounted on said tray (40).

14. Armrest system according to any one of claims 1 to 13, further comprising a communication system having at least one element selected from an emergency call button, a microphone, a camera, and a loudspeaker.

15. Armchair (100), for example a medical chair, comprising at least one armrest system (10) according to any one of claims 1 to 14.
