Description

Title of the invention: DEVICE FOR SECURING THE CAP OF A CONTAINER

[0001] Object of the invention:

[0002] The present invention relates to the field of devices for securing the cap of a container. Thus, the invention aims to provide a device capable of ensuring the secure closure of the cap.

[0003] Similarly, the invention aims to provide a device, capable of being removed and replaced on the cap and the neck of the container.

[0004] Similarly, the invention aims to provide a device allowing placement on the cap and the neck of the container in a reversible mounting direction.

[0005] Similarly, the invention aims to provide a device capable of guaranteeing closure, so as to improve resistance to pressure, to involuntary opening of the cap or to damage caused during transport.

[0006]

[0007] Context of the invention:

[0008] In the field of container caps, caps screwed onto the neck of the container and non-screwed caps are known. In both cases, the caps have a contact surface to fit onto the neck of a container and preserve its contents.

[0009] The clogging of containers with stoppers demonstrates instability which may result from improper handling of the stopper or from contact with an object or from overpressure in the container.

[0010] The prior art teaches the production of a safety device consisting of several elements intended to lock the opening of the cap. These elements comprise a body and a strap provided with locking teeth articulated on said body. Locking is achieved by clamping the cap on the neck and engaging the strap in the body, which itself has shapes complementary to the locking teeth of the strap.

[0011] However, this type of device has a number of drawbacks. These include the difficulty or impossibility of removing the safety device without material destruction. In addition, the number of elements constituting the device is likely to complicate its production.

[0012] Another disadvantage of existing safety devices is that they have to comply with a single mounting direction.

[0013] Therefore, it is desirable, in the state of the art, to provide a device safety, capable of ensuring the sealing of caps in a simple and reliable manner, with a single reusable element.

[0014]

[0015] Description of the invention:

[0016] The invention consists of a device for securing the cap of a container comprising a housing having an arcuate housing surface intended to engage on the cap and on the container.

[0017] The housing comprises an upper surface configured and adapted to come into contact with a portion of the cap. The housing also comprises a lower surface configured and adapted to come into contact with a collar of the container. Said collar belongs to the neck of the container.

[0018] The housing has a lateral opening along an angular sector between 110° and 145°, preferably between 125° and 135°.

[0019] The dimensions of the housing are adapted to the dimensions of the cap, in particular the axial opening has an internal perimeter which is less than the external perimeter of the collar of the neck.

[0020] The axial opening of the housing on the lower surface and the upper surface advantageously allows a reversible mounting direction of the housing on the cap and the container.

[0021] The housing has an inner perimeter that is greater than the outer perimeter of the cap and greater than the outer perimeter of the neck collar.

[0022] The surfaces consequent to the lateral opening of the housing have a projecting protuberance at at least one of the ends of the opening.

[0023] The housing is sized to have elastic flexibility allowing the device to be placed and removed around the cap and neck.

[0024] According to another embodiment of the invention, at least one of the lower or upper surfaces is discontinuous, made in a notch.

[0025] In this embodiment, the lower surface and the upper surface therefore have a discontinuous shape, the lower and upper crenellations being arranged alternately on each of the lower and upper surfaces.

[0026] Brief description of the drawings

[0027] In addition to the description presented and for a better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, in accordance with a preferred example of an embodiment thereof, there are attached to said description of which they form an integral part, drawings of an illustrative and non-limiting nature representing the following:

[0028] [Fig.l] represents a perspective view of the device, according to one embodiment of the invention, which comprises a housing intended to engage on the stopper and on the container;

[0029] [Fig.2] represents a perspective view of the device of [Fig.l], according to a mode of carrying out the invention;

[0030] [Fig.3] represents a front view of the device of [Fig.l], according to a mode of realization lization of the invention;

[0031] [Fig.4] represents a cross-section of the device, according to one embodiment of the invention;

[0032] [Fig.5] represents a perspective view of the device, according to another mode of realization embodiment of the invention, which comprises a housing and discontinuous lower and upper surfaces, made in a notched manner.

[0033] Description of the embodiments

[0034] What is defined in this detailed description is set forth only to promote a full understanding of the invention. Accordingly, those skilled in the art will recognize that variations, changes, and modifications may be made to the embodiments described herein without departing from the scope of the invention, so the drawings and specific implementations herein are presented for illustrative and explanatory purposes only and in no way for the purpose of limiting the aspects of the invention.

[0035] The present invention discloses a solution for securing the cap of a container, which is based on a configuration of the device (1) which comprises a housing (6) having an arcuate housing surface intended to engage on the cap (2) and on the container (3).

[0036] This solution is applicable to any type of cap and container provided that the neck (4) has a collar (5), but by way of example, figures 1 to 4 illustrate in detail below a particular embodiment of the device for securing the cap of a container.

[0037] [Fig.l] represents the device (1) placed on the cap (2) and the neck (4) of the container (3). The device (1) is formed of a single element ensuring the integral assembly of the cap on the container.

[0038] [Fig.2] represents a perspective view of the device (1).

[0039] The housing (6) comprises an upper surface (7a) and a lower surface (7b). The upper surface (7a) is configured and capable of coming into contact with a portion of the cap (2) and the lower surface (7b) is configured and capable of coming into contact with a collar (5) of the container (3). The collar (5) belongs to the container (3).

[0040] [Fig.3] represents a front view of the device (1).

[0041] The housing (6) has a lateral opening along an angular sector between 110° and 145°, preferably between 125° and 135°.

[0042] The dimensions of the housing (6) are adapted to the dimensions of the cap (2), in particular the axial opening has an inner perimeter which is less than the outer perimeter of the collar (5) of the neck (4). The axial opening also has an inner perimeter which is less than the outer perimeter of the collar (5) of the neck (4). The axial opening of the housing (6) on the upper surface (7a) and the lower surface (7b) advantageously allows a reversible mounting direction of the housing (6) on the cap (2) and the container (3).

[0043] The surfaces consequent to the lateral opening of the housing (6) have a projecting protuberance (8a and 8b) at at least one of the ends of the opening.

[0044] [Fig.4] represents a cross-section of the device (1).

[0045] The housing (6) has an inner perimeter that is greater than the outer perimeter of the cap (2) and greater than the outer perimeter of the collar (5) of the neck (4). The housing (6) is sized to have elastic flexibility allowing the device to be placed and removed around the cap (2) and the neck (4).

[0046] [Fig.5] represents a perspective view of the device, according to another embodiment of the invention.

[0047] In this embodiment, at least one of the upper (7a) or lower (7b) surfaces is discontinuous, made in a notched pattern. In this embodiment, the lower and upper notches are arranged alternately on each of the surfaces (7a, 7b).

[0048] Finally, in light of the present description and the figures, those skilled in the art will be able to understand that the invention has been described according to certain preferred embodiments thereof, but that it is possible to make multiple variations to said preferred embodiments, without departing from the scope of the invention as it has been claimed.
