Description

Title of the invention: Simplified fixing device with cylinder and plate for a nail, screw or rivet head, and method based on such a device

[0001] The invention relates to the field of fixing devices for fixing an object such as a painting, a photographic frame or the like, to a support such as a wall, in a reversible manner. The invention relates more particularly to hidden type fixing systems which are not visible when the object is fixed to the support.

[0002] In this field, fixing systems have been proposed comprising a fixing part in the form of a curved strand receiving a head of a nail or a screw, fixed to a mounting support. Other systems propose fixing parts with complex shapes and contours.

[0003] These types of systems are not satisfactory because these fixing parts are difficult to machine due to their complex shapes and contours, and to quickly fix to the object. The installation of these fixing parts in the object, and the fixing of the object to the support are generally complex and tedious.

[0004] Furthermore, prior art fasteners generally provide too large a separation space between the support and the object, so that the object is tilted downwards and forwards when it should be substantially vertical.

[0005] An objective of the present invention is to propose a fixing part which is easy to manufacture in the factory, to put in place in an object to be fixed, to use without any particular reference point, and to adjust as closely as possible to the support.

[0006] To achieve this objective, the invention proposes a fixing device comprising: - an annular cylindrical body comprising a deep orifice of a first diameter, the cylindrical body comprising a deep part configured to be arranged towards a deep side, and a surface part configured to be arranged towards a surface side opposite the deep side; - an annular surface plate secured to the surface part of the cylindrical body, the surface plate comprising a surface orifice with a second diameter smaller than the first diameter, the surface orifice being aligned with the deep orifice, characterized in that the fixing device is configured to receive a nail, screw or rivet head inserted into the surface orifice and then the deep orifice, the fixing device being configured so that the surface plate retains said head in the fixing device

[0007] The “deep / superficial” orientation refers to the insertion of the device fixation in the object. The deep side corresponds to the one that is towards the inside of the object, and the superficial side corresponds to the one that is towards the external surface of the object.

[0008] Advantageously, the fixing device is easy to produce by machining, and to put in place in the object to be fixed. Its particularities are its rapid installation in two simple actions: drilling, and insertion of the fixing device (or insert) into the object to be fixed.

[0009] Its cylindrical shape allows for rapid installation without any particular reference point during installation. Furthermore, the fixing device is invisible and offers adjustment as close as possible to the support by adjusting the insertion of the screw in relation to the thickness of the surface plate.

[0010] According to a variant, the cylindrical body has a flat external surface which may be rough.

[0011] This allows the fixing device to be held securely in the object to be fixed.

[0012] According to one variant, the surface plate comprises at least one radial projection which comprises one or more fixing orifices.

[0013] This allows for additional options for attaching the fixing device to the object to be attached, using the fixing holes.

[0014] According to a variant, said projection forms a disc or several lobes.

[0015] The disc shape makes it possible to provide an easy-to-machine projection.

[0016] According to a variant, the cylindrical body comprises an external surface having fixing structures to be struck.

[0017] This makes it possible to have a solid holding structure for the fixing device in the object to be fixed.

[0018] According to a variant, the fixing device further comprises a deep plate secured to the deep part of the cylindrical body, the deep plate closing the deep orifice on the deep side.

[0019] This allows the fixing device to be closed from the deep side.

[0020] According to a variant, the cylindrical body comprises an external surface having a thread.

[0021] This allows for another solid holding structure of the fixing device in the object to be fixed.

[0022] According to a variant, the surface plate or the deep plate has a relief to aid screwing.

[0023] This makes it easy to screw the fixing device into the object to be fixed.

[0024] According to one variant, the fixing device is made of metallic material or of plastic material.

[0025] This allows the use of materials that are easy to machine and obtain.

[0026] The invention further relates to an object to be fixed equipped with a fixing device according to the invention.

[0027] Another object of the invention relates to a method of fixing an object to a support, comprising steps for: - inserting a fixing device according to the invention into one of the object to be fixed and the support; - insert a nail, screw or rivet into the other between the object to be fixed and the support; - fix the object to the support by inserting the head of the nail, screw or rivet into the surface hole, then into the deep hole, so that the surface plate retains said head in the fixing device.

[0028] It is possible to envisage inserting the fixing device into the support, but preference is given to the reverse arrangement (fixing device in the object to be fixed) with: - either the installation in the factory, in the object to be fixed, of a receiving surface receiving the fixing device, the insertion of the fixing device being able to be carried out by the user; - or the factory insertion of the fixing device into the object to be fixed.

[0029] The invention will be further detailed by the description of non-limiting embodiments, and on the basis of the appended figures, among which: - [Fig.l] illustrates views in space of two fixing devices according to a first embodiment of the invention; - [Fig.2] illustrates a side elevational view of a fixing device of [Fig.l]; - [Fig.3] illustrates a view in space of a fixing device according to a second embodiment; - [Fig.4] illustrates a side elevation view, and a front view of the fixing device of [Fig.3]; - [Fig.5] illustrates a view in space of a fixing device according to a third embodiment; - [Fig.6] illustrates a side elevation view of the fixing device of [Fig.5], as well as two different front views of possible surface plates and three different rear views of possible deep plates; - [Fig.7] illustrates a view in space of a fixing device according to a fourth embodiment; - [Fig.8] illustrates a view in space of a fixing device according to a fifth embodiment; - [Fig.9] illustrates insertions of the fixing devices into objects to be fixed; and - [Fig. 10] illustrates a fixing of an object to be fixed equipped with its insertion device, to a support equipped with a fixing screw.

[0030] The invention relates to a rapid fixing system, the fixing variants of which offer a fast and efficient machining solution depending on the type of OB objects to be fixed.

[0031] The variants of the fixing system and the different materials offered adapt to the desired resistance for fixing the OB objects.

[0032] A single fixation can be envisaged in an object OB. In this case, the fixation device D is placed in the top center of the object OB, and allows, thanks to gravity, perfect natural centering.

[0033] It is also possible to envisage multiple fixing, i.e. two or more fixing devices D placed in the object OB. This makes it possible to distribute the load of heavy objects and to avoid sagging along the length of bulky objects.

[0034] Now concerning the fixing device D, it comprises an annular cylindrical body C. The cylindrical body C is configured to be arranged so that its central axis is preferably substantially horizontal.

[0035] The cylindrical body C has a deep orifice OP along the surface of revolution, measuring a first diameter.

[0036] The “deep / superficial” orientation refers to the insertion of the fixing device D into the object OB, in opposite directions in an insertion direction. The deep side corresponds to the one that is towards the inside of the object OB, and the superficial side corresponds to the one that is towards the external surface of the object OB. In [Fig.9], the deep side is oriented downwards, while the superficial side is oriented upwards.

[0037] The cylindrical body C comprises a deep portion configured to be arranged toward the deep side inside the object to be fixed OB, and a surface portion configured to be arranged toward the surface side at the surface of the object to be fixed OB, which will be affixed against the support SP.

[0038] According to the variant considered, the cylindrical body C may comprise a flat external surface S in contact with the object to be fixed OB. This is the case in the first embodiment illustrated in Figures 1 and 2. This external surface S may also be rough (not illustrated). In this embodiment, the cylindrical body C may hold in the object to be fixed OB by being inserted therein by force.

[0039] In another variant, the cylindrical body C has an external surface S having striking fixing structures SF. This is the case in the second embodiment illustrated in Figures 3 and 4. These fixing structures SF are inserted into the object to be fixed OB and hold the fixing device D there. In use, a mallet M, hammer or the like, can be used to insert the fixing device D into the object OB. This corresponds to the top left illustration of [Fig.9].

[0040] In another variant, the cylindrical body C has an external surface S having a thread FV. This is the case in the third embodiment illustrated in Figures 5 and 6.

[0041] The body may have a diameter of approximately 14 mm, or have a range between 5 mm and 20 mm, for an object OB having substantially the dimensions of an A4 sheet (excluding thickness).

[0042] The fixing device D further comprises an annular surface plate PS. The surface plate PS is integral with the surface part of the cylindrical body C.

[0043] The superficial plate PS partially closes the deep orifice on a superficial side. The superficial plate PS has a superficial orifice OS measuring a second diameter smaller than the first diameter.

[0044] The superficial orifice OS is aligned with the deep orifice OP such that the axis of the superficial orifice OS passes through the deep orifice OP. In particular, the deep orifice OP and the superficial orifice OS have axes that are essentially the same.

[0045] According to the variant considered, the surface plate PS may comprise at least one radial projection PR which comprises one or more fixing orifices OF. This projection PR may form several lobes as is the case in the fourth embodiment illustrated in [Fig.7]; or a disc as is the case in the fifth embodiment illustrated in [Fig.8].

[0046] Depending on the variant considered, the surface plate PS may include a screwing aid relief RV. This is illustrated in the surface plate PS on the right in [Fig.6]. A screwdriver or other suitable structure can be inserted into the relief RV, and turned to insert the fixing device D into the object to be fixed OB.

[0047] The surface plate PS may have the same diameter as the cylindrical body C. The surface orifice OS may have a diameter of approximately 7 mm, or have a range between 3 mm and 18 mm.

[0048] The sections are to be adjusted according to the materials used, or the sizes of the objects to be fixed OB.

[0049] The fixing device D may further comprise a deep plate PP secured to the deep part of the cylindrical body C. This is the case in the illustrations. The deep plate PP closes the deep orifice OP on the deep side.

[0050] Depending on the variant considered, the deep plate PP may include a screwing aid relief RV. This is illustrated in the deep plates PP of [Fig.6]. A screwdriver TV or another suitable structure can be inserted into the relief RV, and turned to insert the fixing device D into the object to be fixed OB. This corresponds to the illustration on the right in [Fig.9].

[0051] The invention works thanks to a TC head of a nail, a screw or a rivet inserted into a SP installation support.

[0052] According to the invention, the fixing device D is configured to receive said head TC in the superficial orifice OS, then the deep orifice OP. In addition, the device fixing D is sized so that the surface plate PS retains said head TC in the fixing device D.

[0053] The sizes of the bodies C, plates PS and holes OS, OP are to be adjusted according to the heads TC of nail, screw or rivet to be used.

[0054] The fixing device D may be made of metallic material or plastic material. It is for example made of steel (galvanized, carbonized, etc.), PVC, PU, PET, nylon, polyamide or other materials.

[0055] The invention also relates to an object to be fixed OB comprising at least one fixing device D described previously.
