Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Use of cyclic carbonyl odoriferous compounds to inhibit and / or attenuate and / or mask the odor of UV filters, and compositions containing them Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to the field of cosmetic products, and aims in particular to propose the non-therapeutic cosmetic use of carbonyl cyclic odoriferous compounds as a masking agent and / or as an agent inhibiting the odor of UV filters, as well as compositions comprising such compounds and one or more UV filters.
[0002] The cosmetic field to which the application of the composition, as well as the use, covered by the present invention can extend is in particular the field of makeup and / or care and / or hygiene of keratin materials, the field of sun protection, the field of hair care, or even the field of perfumes. Prior art
[0003] It is customary to introduce UVA filters and / or UVB filters, in particular organic UVA filters and / or organic UVB filters, into cosmetic compositions.
[0004] Such compounds can be dedicated to providing sun protection. They can also be useful as stabilizers, which have the role of maintaining the organoleptic properties of the products stable to different aggressions, such as UVA and / or UVB and thermal shocks, in particular in perfume compositions.
[0005] Thus, a wide variety of cosmetic compositions can contain a combination of several organic and / or inorganic UVA and / or UVB filters, carried in an oily phase and / or in an aqueous phase, and offered in various galenic forms.
[0006] However, UVA and / or UVB filters are not fully satisfactory, for example for fragile perfumes rich in natural substances.
[0007] Indeed, the presence of UVA and / or UVB filters in compositions can present cosmetic drawbacks, and in particular generate a release of a particularly unpleasant odor which constitutes a real inconvenience for users, which can limit their use in cosmetic compositions. Statement of the invention
[0008] In view of the above, it is thus clear that there remains a need for consumers to have cosmetic and / or dermatological compositions comprising UVA and / or UVB filters, having a pleasant odor for users. readers, while presenting advantageous cosmetic performances.
[0009] Thus, there remains a need to have compounds which make it possible to mask and / or inhibit and / or reduce the unpleasant odor of UVA and / or UVB filters, in particular in cosmetic compositions.
[0010] There also remains a need for compositions, in particular cosmetic compositions, comprising UVA and / or UVB filters, and which remain stable and homogeneous over time, in particular in terms of odor, and under the effects of light and temperature, regardless of the galenic of the composition. Summary of the invention
[0011] The present invention particularly aims to provide compounds which are particularly effective in covering the unpleasant odor of UVA and / or UVB filters.
[0012] Thus, according to a first aspect, the present invention relates to the use of a compound of general formula (I):
[0013] [Chem.l] O
[0014] formula (I) in which: - n represents 0, 1 or 2; - R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group comprising from 1 to 16 carbon atoms, cyclic or acyclic, saturated or unsaturated, conjugated or not, aromatic or not, linear or branched, optionally interrupted by one or more heteroatoms such as O, S, N; and
[0015] [Chem.2]
[0016] represents a divalent hydrocarbon group comprising from 2 to 16 carbon atoms, saturated or unsaturated, conjugated or not, linear or branched;
[0017] to inhibit and / or attenuate and / or mask the odor of UV filters.
[0018] The uses considered according to the invention are cosmetic and non-therapeutic.
[0019] The present invention also relates to a composition, in particular a cosmetic composition, comprising one or more UV filters and at least one compound of general formula (I):
[0020] [Chem.3] O
[0021] formula (I) in which: - n represents 0, 1 or 2; - R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrocarbon group comprising from 1 to 16 carbon atoms, cyclic or acyclic, saturated or unsaturated, conjugated or not, aromatic or not, linear or branched, optionally interrupted by one or more heteroatoms such as O, S, N; and
[0022] [Chem.4]
[0023] represents a divalent hydrocarbon group comprising from 2 to 16 carbon atoms, saturated or unsaturated, conjugated or not, linear or branched.
[0024] The invention also relates, according to another of its aspects, to a cosmetic process for perfuming and / or caring for and / or making up keratin materials, in particular the skin, comprising at least one step of applying to said keratin materials a composition according to the invention.
[0025] The cyclic carbonyl odoriferous compounds of formula (I), and in particular muscenone, are known and used in the cosmetic field, and in particular in the field of perfumes.
[0026] For example, application KR10-2019-0003160A describes compositions for improving the persistence of the effects of a perfume, which may contain muscenone.
[0027] However, to the inventors' knowledge, the compounds of formula (I) have never been used in association with UV filters.
[0028] However, against all expectations, and as is apparent from the examples below, the compounds of formula (I) have been characterized by the inventors as olfactory neutralizers of the odor of UV filters, and thus as being capable of attenuating and / or inhibiting and / or masking the unpleasant odor of UV filters. Definitions
[0029] In the context of the present invention, and unless otherwise indicated, the de- finishes below apply:
[0030] By "inhibit" is meant the act of totally or partially reducing the aspect considered, for example the unpleasant odor of UV filters.
[0031] By "attenuate" is meant the fact of reducing the intensity of the aspect considered, for example the unpleasant odor of UV filters.
[0032] By “mask” is meant totally or partially covering the aspect considered, for example the unpleasant smell of UV filters.
[0033] For the purposes of the present invention, the term "perfumed composition" or "perfuming composition" is intended to denote any composition that leaves a perfume or odor after application to keratin materials. A perfume is the result of a combination of different odorous substances, each providing a specific diffusing odor or "note" and evaporating respectively at different times. More precisely, each perfume has what is called a "top note" which is the odor that diffuses first when the perfume is applied or when the container containing it is opened, a "heart or body note" which corresponds to the complete perfume (emission for a few hours after the "top note") and a "base note" which is the most persistent odor (emission for several hours after the "heart note"). The persistence of the base note corresponds to the remanence of the perfume.
[0034] For the purposes of the present invention, the term “perfuming substance” is understood to mean any perfume, any odorous raw material or aroma capable of releasing a pleasant odor, in particular as defined in the remainder of the text. “Perfuming”, “odorous” or “odoriferous” substances are synonymous for the purposes of the present invention.
[0035] For the purposes of the present invention, the term “keratin materials” is understood to mean in particular the skin, the lips, the hair, the scalp, the eyelashes and eyebrows or even the nails, in particular the skin and / or the lips, preferably the skin, and preferably the skin of the body and / or the face, and more preferably of the face.
[0036] A composition according to the invention is generally suitable for application to keratin materials, in particular to the skin and / or the lips, and therefore generally comprises a physiologically acceptable medium, i.e. compatible with the skin and / or the lips. It is preferably a cosmetically acceptable medium, i.e. which has a pleasant color, odor and feel and does not generate unacceptable discomfort, i.e. tingling, tightness, redness, likely to discourage the user from applying this composition.
[0037] For the purposes of the present invention, the term "geometric isomer" is intended to denote any molecule of identical constitution to the compound but whose spatial organization of atoms is different. In particular, it may be stereoisomers of conformation, i.e. compounds differing by rotation around a single bond, or configurational stereoisomers, especially enantiomers or diastereoisomers.
[0038] For the purposes of the present invention, the term "optical isomer" is intended to denote the enantiomers, which are configuration isomers which are mirror images of each other, but which are not superimposable.
[0039] For the purposes of the present invention, the term "tautomer" is intended to denote the constitutional isomers of the compound obtained by prototropy, i.e. by migration of a hydrogen atom and change of location of a double bond. The different tautomers of a compound are generally interconvertible and present in equilibrium, in solution, in proportions which may vary depending on the solvent used, the temperature or even the pH.
[0040] For the purposes of the present invention, the term "solvated" is intended to denote the form of the compound when the latter is associated with a solvent. Solvates include conventional solvates formed during the process of preparing the compound. Examples of solvates are those obtained in the presence of water or a linear or branched alcohol, in particular ethanol or isopropanol. For the purposes of the present invention, the term "hydrate" is intended to denote the form of the compound when the latter is associated with water.
[0041] By "alkyl" is meant a saturated, linear or branched hydrocarbon group comprising from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, in particular from C1 to C12, more particularly C1-C10, preferably C1-C6, even more preferably C1-C4, such as methyl, ethyl, propyl, i-propyl, n-butyl, i-butyl, t-butyl. A (Cx-Cz)alkyl group represents a linear or branched hydrocarbon chain comprising from x to z carbon atoms. For example, a (Ci-C6)alkyl group represents a linear or branched hydrocarbon chain comprising from 1 to 6 carbon atoms.
[0042] By "alkenyl" is meant an "alkenyl" group, i.e. a linear or branched, unsaturated hydrocarbon group comprising from 1 to 3 double bonds, conjugated or not, comprising from 2 to 20 carbon atoms, in particular from C2 to C12, more particularly C2-C10, preferably C2-C6, even more preferably C2-C4, such as ethenyl. A (Cx-Cz)alkenyl or (Cx-Cz)alkenyl group represents an alkenyl or an alkenyl comprising from x to z carbon atoms.
[0043] By "alkoxy" is meant an "alkoxy" or alkyl-oxy or alkyl-O- group with alkyl as defined above. A (Cx-Cz)alkoxy group represents a radical -O-(CX-Cz)alkyl, in which the (Cx-Cz)alkyl group is as defined above.
[0044] By "alkylene" is meant a saturated, linear or branched, divalent hydrocarbon group comprising from 1 to 20 carbon atoms, in particular from Ci to Ci2, more particularly Ci-Cio, preferably Ci-C6, even more preferably CrC4, such such as methylene, ethylene, propylene, i-propylene, n-butylene, i-butylene, preferably a methylene and isobutylene group. A (Cx-Cz)alkylene group represents an alkylene comprising from x to z carbon atoms.
[0045] By "heterocycle" is meant a non-aromatic saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbon cycle, comprising from 4 to 16 links, preferably comprising from 5 to 7 links and comprising from 1 to 3 heteroatoms notably chosen from O, S, and N, mono or polycyclic, optionally substituted by one or more groups chosen from (Ci-C4)alkyl such as methyl, and oxo.
[0046] For the purposes of the present invention, the term "UV filter" is intended to denote any compound that filters ultraviolet (UV) radiation in the wavelength range from 280 nm to 400 nm. The term "UV-B filter" is intended to denote any compound that filters (or absorbs) ultraviolet (UV) radiation in the wavelength range from 280 nm to 320 nm. The term "UV-A filter" is intended to denote any compound that filters (or absorbs) ultraviolet (UV) radiation in the wavelength range from 320 nm to 400 nm. A distinction may be made between short UV-A filters (absorbing rays at a wavelength between 320 and 340 nm) and long UV-A filters (absorbing rays at a wavelength between 340 and 400 nm).
[0047] By "hydrophilic UV filter" is meant any organic or inorganic cosmetic or dermatological compound filtering UV radiation capable of being completely dissolved in the molecular state in a liquid aqueous phase or of being solubilized in colloidal form (for example in micellar form) in a liquid aqueous phase.
[0048] By "hydrophobic UV filter" is meant any cosmetic or dermatological filter capable of being completely dissolved in the molecular state in a liquid fatty phase or of being solubilized in colloidal form (for example in micellar form) in a liquid fatty phase.
[0049] For the purposes of the invention, the term “fatty phase” means a phase comprising at least one oil and all of the liposoluble and lipophilic ingredients or fatty substances required according to the invention.
[0050] The term "oil" means a non-aqueous compound, immiscible with water, liquid at room temperature (20°C) and atmospheric pressure (760 mm Hg). For the purposes of the present invention, the term "hydrocarbon oil" means an oil containing mainly hydrogen and carbon atoms. The term "silicone oil" means an oil comprising at least one silicon atom, and in particular at least one Si-O group. The term "fluorinated oil" means an oil comprising at least one fluorine atom.

Volatile oil is a volatile cosmetic compound, liquid at room temperature, having in particular a non-zero vapor pressure, at room temperature and atmospheric pressure, in particular having a vapor pressure ranging from 0.13 Pa to 40,000 Pa (103 to 300 mm Hg), in particular ranging from 1.3 Pa to 13,000 Pa (0.01 to 100 mm Hg), and more particularly ranging from 1.3 Pa to 1,300 Pa (0.01 to 10 mm Hg). By "non-volatile" is meant an oil whose vapor pressure at room temperature and atmospheric pressure is non-zero and less than 103 mm Hg (0.13 Pa).
[0052] In the present invention, the term "water-soluble solvent" means a compound that is liquid at room temperature and miscible with water (miscibility in water greater than 50% by weight at 25°C and atmospheric pressure).
[0053] For the purposes of the present invention, the term “polyol” means any organic molecule comprising at least two free hydroxyl groups.
[0054] For the purposes of the present invention, the term "anhydrous composition" means a composition having a water (or aqueous phase) content of less than 5% by weight, preferably less than 2% by weight, and even more preferably less than 1% by weight relative to the weight of said composition, or even less than 0.5% and in particular free of water. In this definition, the water mentioned includes the residual water provided by the mixed ingredients.
[0055] The term “hydrophilic active” means a water-soluble or water-dispersible active agent capable of forming hydrogen bonds.
[0056] By "filler" is meant colorless or white, solid particles of all shapes, which are in an insoluble form and dispersed in the medium of the composition. Of mineral or organic nature, they make it possible to give body or rigidity to the composition, and / or softness, and uniformity to the application. They are distinct from coloring matters.

[0198] In a known manner, silicones are organosilicon polymers or oligomers with a linear or cyclic, branched or crosslinked structure, of variable molecular weight, obtained by polymerization and / or polycondensation of suitably functionalized silanes, and consisting essentially of a repetition of main units in which the silicon atoms are linked together by oxygen atoms (siloxane bond), optionally substituted hydrocarbon radicals being directly linked via a carbon atom to said silicon atoms.
[0199] The term “silicones” also includes the silanes necessary for their preparation, in particular, alkyl silanes.
[0200] The silicones used for coating the pigments suitable for the present invention are preferably chosen from the group containing alkyl silanes, polydialkylsiloxanes, and polyalkylhydrogensiloxanes. Even more preferably, the silicones are chosen from the group containing octyl trimethyl silane, polydimethylsiloxanes and polymethylhydrogensiloxanes.
[0201] Of course, the metal oxide pigments before their treatment with silicones, may have been treated with other surface agents, in particular with cerium oxide, alumina, silica, aluminum compounds, silicon compounds, or their mixtures.

[0221] A composition according to the invention may comprise one or more perfuming substances distinct from the compounds of formula (I).
[0222] In particular, a composition according to the invention may comprise at least 0.01% by weight of perfuming substance(s) distinct from the compounds of formula (I), in particular at least 0.5% by weight, in particular at most 1% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition.

[0224] The perfume substances are compositions containing in particular the raw materials described in S. Arctander, Perfume and Flavor Chemicals (Montclair, NJ, 1969), in S. Arctander, Perfume and Flavor Materials of Natural Origin (Elizabeth, NJ, 1960) and in “Flavor and Fragrance Materials - 1991”, Allured Publishing Co. Wheaton, 111.
[0225] A composition according to the invention may in particular comprise at least one perfuming substance chosen from essential oils, perfumes and aromas of synthetic or natural origin, and their mixtures.
[0226] These may be natural products, such as essential oils, absolutes, resinoids, resins, concretes, and / or synthetic products, such as terpene or sesquiterpene hydrocarbons, alcohols, phenols, aldehydes, ketones, ethers, acids, esters, nitriles, peroxides, saturated or unsaturated, aliphatic or cyclic.
[0227] According to the definition given in the international standard ISO 9235 and adopted by the European Pharmacopoeia Commission, an essential oil is an odorous product generally of complex composition, obtained from a botanically defined plant raw material, either by steam distillation, or by dry distillation, or by an appropriate mechanical process without heating (cold expression). The essential oil is most often separated from the aqueous phase by a physical process that does not result in a significant change in the composition.
[0228] The choice of method for obtaining essential oils depends mainly on the raw material: its original state and characteristics, its nature itself. The "essential oil / plant raw material" yield can be extremely variable depending on the plants: 15 ppm to more than 20%. This choice determines the characteristics of the essential oil, in particular viscosity, color, solubility, volatility, enrichment or depletion in certain constituents.
[0229] Steam distillation corresponds to the vaporization in the presence of water vapor of a substance that is poorly miscible with water. The raw material is placed in the presence of boiling water or water vapor in a still. The water vapor entrains the essential oil vapor which is condensed in the condenser to be recovered in liquid phase in a Florentine vase (or essencier) where the essential oil is separated from the water by decantation. The aqueous distillate that remains after steam distillation, once the separation of the essential oil has been carried out, is called "aromatic water" or "hydrosol" or "floral distilled water."
[0230] Obtaining by dry distillation consists of obtaining the essential oil by distillation of wood, bark or roots, without adding water or water vapor in a closed enclosure designed so that the liquid is recovered in its lower part. Cade oil constitutes the best known example of this method of obtaining.
[0231] The cold expression method only applies to citrus fruits (Citrus spp) by mechanical processes at room temperature. The principle of the method is as follows: the zests are shredded and the contents of the secretory pockets that have been broken are recovered by a physical process. The classic process consists of exerting an abrasive action on the entire surface of the fruit under a stream of water. After removing the solid waste, the essential oil is separated from the aqueous phase by centrifugation. Most industrial installations actually allow the simultaneous or sequential recovery of fruit juices and essential oil.
[0232] Essential oils are generally volatile and liquid at room temperature, which differentiates them from so-called fixed oils. They are more or less colored and their density is generally lower than that of water. They have a high refractive index and most of them deflect polarized light. They are liposoluble and soluble in common organic solvents, entrainable by water vapor, very slightly soluble in water.
[0233] Among the essential oils that can be used according to the invention, mention may be made of those obtained from plants belonging to the following botanical families: Abietaceae or Pinaceae, for example conifers; Amaryllidaceae; Anacardiaceae; Anonaceae, for example ylang; Apiaceae, for example umbellifers, in particular dill, angenic, coriander, fennel, carrot or parsley; Araceae; Aristolochiaceae; Asteraceae for example yarrow, mugwort, chamomile, and helichrysum; Betulaceae; Brassicaceae; Burseraceae, for example frankincense; Caryophyllaceae; Canellaceae; Caesalpiniaceae for example copaifera (copahu); Chenopodaceae; Cistaceae for example cistus; Cyperaceae; Dipterocarpaceae; Ericaceae e.g. wintergreen; Euphorbiaceae; Fabaceae; Geraniaceae e.g. geranium; Guttiferae; Hamamelidaceae; Hernandiaceae; Hypericaceae e.g. St. John's wort; Iridaceae; Juglandaceae;Lamiaceae, e.g. thyme, oregano, bee balm, savory, basil, marjoram, mint, patchouli, lavender, sage, catnip, rosemary, hyssop, lemon balm, rosemary; Lauraceae, e.g. ravensara, bay, rosewood, cinnamon, litsea; Liliaceae, e.g. garlic; Magnoliaceae, e.g. magnolia; Malvaceae; Meliaceae; Monimiaceae; Moraceae, for example hemp, or hops; Myricaceae; Mysristicaceae, for example nutmeg; Myrtaceae, for example eucalyptus, tea tree, niaouli, cajeput, backousia, clove, myrtle; Oleaceae; Piperaceae, for example pepper; Pittosporaceae; Poaceae, for example lemongrass, lemongrass, vetiver; Polygonaceae; Ranunculaceae; Rosaceae, for example roses; Rubiaceae; Rutaceae, for example all citrus; Salicaceae; Santalaceae, for example sandalwood; Saxifragaceae; Schisandraceae; Styracaceae, for example benzoin; Thymelaceae, for example agarwood; Tilliaceae; Valerianaceae, e.g. valerian, spikenard; Verbenaceae, e.g. lantana, verbena; Violaceae; Zingiberaceae, e.g. galangal, turmeric, cardamom, ginger; Zygophyllaceae.
