Abstract

The invention relates to a method for upsetting a metal billet (401) for manufacturing an upset part (201), such as a blank for a straightening arm of an aircraft turbomachine. The method comprises positioning the billet (401) in an open die (403), closing the die (403) so as to flatten the billet (401) between an upper (403a) and a lower (403b) portion of the die (403) and form a flattened part, and upsetting the flattened part within the closed die (403) by means of a punch (407) exerting a force on said flattened part, so as to form the upset part (201).
