Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: MOBILE HEIGHT DETECTOR DEVICE BY A HORIZONTAL TELESCOPIC ARM WITH 12 VOLT SWITCH CONTACTOR INTENDED FOR CALIBRATE THE MAXIMUM HEIGHT OF A HIGH POINT IN THE CIRCULATION ZONE. Technical field
[0001] The invention relates to the field of mechanical height detector devices fitted to van or heavy goods vehicle types, used during road journeys where the load size is outside the standard height in the traffic area.
[0002] The aim of the invention is to allow drivers to set a maximum horizontal clearance height when moving on the traffic lane.
[0003] The vehicle equipped with this height detector device by a telescopic arm, on which a 12 volt position switch contactor will be fixed at the high point of the telescopic arm, will be able to carry out, before passing the oversized height gauge, a recognition of the traffic zone and thus avoid being blocked, causing an accident or damaging the road infrastructure.
[0004] This recognition will indicate whether or not it will be possible for the oversized vehicle to travel on this route thanks to the 12-volt switch contactor, which, when it touches the infrastructure, will warn the driver with an audible buzzer.
[0005] Furthermore, the objective of this invention is to make the driver aware of the possibility of being able to pass over the traffic zone encountering obstacles (bridge, trees overhanging the roadway, barrier, etc.).
[0006] The attached drawing illustrates the invention: • [Fig. 1] shows the installation of the entire mobile height detector device using a horizontal telescopic arm ([Fig.l], reference 1) with a 12-volt switch contactor ([Fig.l], reference 2 and reference 3) on the vehicle (reference A, reference B). Prior art
[0007] Generally speaking, road area measurement devices fitted to vehicles use ultrasonic sensor systems, light beams or with a 3D camera. These devices are essentially characterized by an objective of intelligent driving assistance by means of a 3D camera or a multitude of ultrasounds taking the overall environment in order to allow a complete analysis of the environment encountered when approaching the various obstacles.
[0008] These devices are generally located at the highest points of the vehicle, with some devices at low points. These devices perform a scan in height, width or using a 3D camera, looking for contact points such as a structure spanning the traffic area.
[0009] There are currently devices for measuring the environment of vehicles under the references: • DI WO 2018 / 076855 Al (NEXTEV LTD [CN]) May 3, 2018 (2018-05-03) • D2 US 2014 / 218481 Al (HEGEMANN STEPHAN [DE] ET AL) August 7, 2014 (2014-08-07) • US 7,259,660 B2 (BOSH GMBH ROBERT [DE]) August 21, 2007 (2007-08-21)
[0010] Concerning these intelligent measuring devices, the driver will be warned by an audible device (D3), or by a visual inside the vehicle by a screen using the 3D camera (D2), or by a route calculation device according to the entry of the size of said vehicle in the database of the route software of the equipped vehicle (D1).
[0011] In other words, these devices are all designed during the manufacture of the vehicle, either by integrating a 3D screen, or by integrating an integrated navigation system, or by integrating a sound device.
[0012] The aim of the invention is therefore to provide a mechanical device that can be installed after the vehicle has been manufactured. In fact, all heavy or light vehicles can, depending on their needs, install this device without any physical or electronic modification to their vehicles.
[0013] The aim of the invention is therefore to provide an optimum, safe, secure device, while being mobile so that it can be removed and replaced on another vehicle.
[0014] The aim of this invention is to no longer have to get out of the vehicle to take measurements. Statement of the invention
[0015] The invention therefore relates to a mobile on-board height detector device intended to carry out the recognition of a precise route before the passage of an exceptional convoy and to inform the driver of the abnormally high load, of the high distance encountered in real time, during its passage through the traffic zone.
