Description

Title of the invention: Motor vehicle structure with heel board

[0001] The invention relates to the retention of brake pipes in a motor vehicle structure. The invention relates to the field of motor vehicle structures adapted to receive batteries in the underbody. The subject of the invention is a motor vehicle underbody structure. The subject of the invention is also a motor vehicle.

[0002] A motor vehicle commonly comprises a welded chassis which materializes its structure. The structure forms the underbody of said vehicle. It defines several compartments, including the passenger compartment, a front compartment and a rear loading compartment. At the passenger compartment level, the underbody has side rails connected by a lower floor while the rear compartment is delimited by an upper board.

[0003] An electrically driven motor vehicle, known as an electric vehicle, commonly has a plurality of electric drive batteries placed under the floor, in the underbody. This set of batteries is housed in a lower protective element, commonly referred to as a battery tray.

[0004] This tray hides all the batteries and protects them from road spray. It optionally provides sealing from the environment and commonly includes a device for cooling the electric batteries to preserve their performance. The tray is fixed to the vehicle body from below. For this purpose, it has various fixing points distributed over its length; in particular along its side edges.

[0005] In the base, a heel board forming a vertical wall is fixed to the upper floor and to the lower floor. In addition, the base of the motor vehicle has a lower part forming a battery mounting area which is delimited by the lower floor.

[0006] The aforementioned mounting area allows for the insertion of a battery or set of batteries having a capacity sufficient to drive the vehicle. Each battery is an electrochemical device that generates electricity by converting chemical energy into electrical energy. The electric batteries then power one or more electric drive motors that operate the drive wheels.

[0007] Document FR3120047A1 presents an underbody structure for a motor vehicle. The underbody structure comprises a floor, and at least two longitudinal side members arranged respectively on each side of the floor. The floor is divided into at least one front unit; and one rear unit fixed to a transverse heel board. A propulsion battery tray is fixed under the front unit of the floor by fastening means such as, for example, screw-nut systems. The propulsion battery tray may be associated with support means which can also provide protection in the event of a side impact.

[0008] In the automotive field, braking systems are generally made using brake discs or even a brake drum. The brake booster, using the driver's impulse, allows a flow of liquid to be sent through the system. The impulse is transmitted via a brake pipe carrying pressurized hydraulic fluid. Such a brake pipe must bypass the battery box, which then becomes a physical obstacle. In addition, the box adds thermal stress because it heats up during operation; whether during the discharge or recharge phase. It is then likely to alter the brake fluid contained in the brake pipe.

[0009] The invention aims to address at least one of the problems or drawbacks encountered in the prior art. In particular, the invention aims to improve the maintenance of a connection connection in a motor vehicle structure having an electric battery mounting area. The invention also aims to optimize the stability, positioning accuracy, ease of mounting of a connection connection and the mass of a motor vehicle structure.

[0010] According to a first aspect, the invention proposes a motor vehicle underbody structure, the structure comprising: two side members; an electric battery mounting area between the two side members; an upper floor; a lower floor; a vertical wall extending vertically from the upper floor to the lower floor, said vertical wall comprising a lower rim with an upper surface and a lower surface towards the mounting area, and opposite the upper surface; remarkable in that the lower surface has a holding relief capable of holding a connection connection under the lower rim.

[0011] It will be clearly understood that the invention proposes a heel board of which a lower edge has a locking irregularity in order to wedge a connection link against the battery container.

[0012] The discontinuity formed by the holding relief makes it possible to maintain and position the connection link; for example by blocking it against the battery tray of the motor vehicle. This discontinuity is directly formed in the edge of the vertical wall, which makes it possible to rationalize the number of parts of the structure; and therefore to optimize its manufacture. The invention fits into the interface between the battery and the floor of the passenger compartment, which contributes to compactness.

[0013] Document CN214985679U presents a structure of an electric vehicle. A part made by folding comprises two arcs of a circle in which a brake pipe is placed. This part is fixed by its base to the structure of the car, more particularly to the lower beam of the motor vehicle. This architecture allows the pipes to be held by the pressure exerted with the screw-nut system. However, this document does not provide any solution for holding the brake pipe or any connection link passing between a heel board and an electric drive battery housed in the underbody.

[0040] The invention will be well understood and other aspects and advantages will appear clearly on reading the description which follows, given with reference to the figures appended and listed below.

[0041] [Fig.l] is a side view of a motor vehicle according to the invention.

[0042] [Fig.2] shows a portion of a motor vehicle underbody structure according to the invention.

[0043] [Fig.3] is an enlargement of [Fig.2] at the level of the vertical wall of the motor vehicle structure according to the invention.

[0044] [Fig.4] is a section of the motor vehicle underbody structure according to the invention.

[0045] In the following description, the term "comprise" is synonymous with "include" and is not limiting in that it allows the presence of other elements in the motor vehicle or structure to which it relates. It is understood that the term "comprise" includes the terms "consist of". The terms "external" and "internal" will designate respectively that which is oriented towards the outside of the vehicle and towards the inside of the vehicle.

[0046] In the present description, the term “longitudinal”, the term “longitudinally”, the term “transverse”, and the term “transversely” are used according to the reference frame of the vehicle, in the mounting configuration. The term “longitudinal” corresponds to the main direction of movement of the vehicle. The term “transverse” corresponds to a direction perpendicular to the main direction of movement of the motor vehicle. The term “front” refers to the main direction of movement of the vehicle. The term “rear” designates the opposite of the front of the vehicle.

[0047] The X axis represents the longitudinal direction, the Y axis represents the transverse direction, and the Z axis represents the vertical direction of the motor vehicle. These three axes define a direct trihedron whose orientation is preserved throughout the figures.

[0048] In the present description, the term "vertical" and the term "horizontal" are not to be understood in the strict sense of the term. Indeed, they allow an inclination of at most 20°, preferably at most 10°, more preferably at most 5°, even more preferably at most 2°; compared to the strict sense of these terms.

[0049] In this description, the technical characteristics are defined in the mounting configuration of the structure, unless explicitly mentioned otherwise.

[0050] Throughout the description, the different figures use the same reference signs to designate identical or similar entities.

[0051] [Fig.l] represents a motor vehicle 10 according to the invention. The motor vehicle 10 comprises energy storage means, such as an electric battery 12; and at least one motor, such as a drive motor 14, adapted to drive said motor vehicle 10. The electric battery 12 is configured to power the drive motor 14 in order to propel the motor vehicle 10.

[0052] The motor vehicle 10 comprises a structure 16. The structure 16 forms an outer body, or even a main frame of the motor vehicle 10. The structure 16 delimits different compartments of the motor vehicle 10, including the passenger compartment 66, the cargo compartment, the engine compartment (not shown). The structure 16 can be formed from an assembly of sheets stamped and welded together.

[0053] The structure 16 connects different parts of the motor vehicle 10 including the openings. The structure 16 forms a mounting support for the powertrain, the suspension systems, the steering system, the braking systems 18. The braking systems 18 connect each wheel, and are actuated by the user.

[0054] The structure 16 has a base 20. The base 20 forms the lower part of the structure 16. The base 20 is opposite the ground. It is under the passenger compartment 66. The base 20 comprises several side members 22, in this case two side members 22 (only one visible). The side members 22 are central side members, in a central position between the wheels. They extend along the passenger compartment 66. The side members 22 are main side members.

[0055] The structure 16 further has a lower floor 24. The lower floor 24 delimits in particular the passenger compartment 66. It is horizontal, and extends along the side members 22. The lower floor 24 is above the electric battery 12, and in particular the tray which accommodates the latter. The structure 16 also comprises an upper floor 26. The upper floor 26 is raised relative to the lower floor 24, for example by at least 5 cm, preferably by at least 15 cm. It may delimit a rear compartment, such as the rear trunk. The upper floor 26 may extend partially to the level of the passenger compartment 66. Rear seats may be attached to the upper floor 26.

[0056] The motor vehicle 10 further comprises a connection link 28. The connection link 28 is for example a hydraulic pipe, such as a brake pipe. It connects a braking actuator, such as a brake pedal; to a braking device, such as a brake caliper cooperating by friction with a brake disc coupled to a wheel. In this case, the connection link 28 is connected to one of the rear wheels. The connection link 28 is arranged between the lower floor 24 and the electric battery 12.

[0057] According to an alternative of the invention, the connection link comprises an electrical cable. The electrical cable may be an actuation cable of an electric braking system, or of another type of actuator of the motor vehicle. The connection link may be a cooling pipe.

[0058] The motor vehicle may, for example, be a private motor vehicle or a utility motor vehicle.

[0059] [Fig. 2] shows a motor vehicle structure 16. The motor vehicle corresponds to that shown in relation to [Fig. 1]. The lower floor is not shown for the sake of clarity.

[0060] The electric battery 12 is housed in a tray 30. The tray 30 forms a lower protective cover. It forms a housing, preferably sealed. The tray 30 is bordered transversely by the side members 22. It can be fixed there. The tray 30 extends at least over half the width of the structure 16.

[0061] The structure 16 comprises a vertical wall 32. The vertical wall 32 extends transversely and connects the side members 22. The vertical wall 32 extends vertically, from the upper floor 26 to the lower floor. It connects them. The vertical wall 32 comprises a lower rim 34 with an upper surface and a lower surface vertically opposite the upper surface. The lower rim 34 is generally horizontal. The lower floor is fixed to the lower rim 34, for example above. The lower rim 34 extends transversely. It stiffens the vertical wall 32. The vertical wall 32 has a height of at least 10 cm, preferably at least 15 cm.

[0062] The motor vehicle comprises at least one connection connection 28, in this case two connection connections 28. The connection connections 28 extend longitudinally. They extend along the entire length of the electric battery 12, and in particular of the tray 30. The connection connections 28 extend transversely under the lower edge 34. At this location, they branch off transversely, for example to connect the wheels. They are vertically between the lower edge 34 and the electric battery 12.

[0063] In order to improve their retention, the connection links 28 have fixing means 68. The fixing means 68 comprise fixing clips, for example secured to the tray 30. The fixing means 68 are distributed along their path. The fixing means 68 may comprise elastic means. The fixing clips surround the connection links 28.

[0064] [Fig. 3] shows a portion of structure 16 of the base 20 of a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle corresponds to that presented in relation to one of figures 1 to 2. The vertical wall is not shown for the sake of clarity.

[0065] The two connection links 28 extend above the battery 12 facing the tray 30, then under the upper floor 26. The connection links 28 are equipped with holding bodies 36. The holding bodies 36 are cylindrical and cooperate with corresponding holding surfaces. The holding bodies 36 may comprise elastic means. They may comprise an elastomeric material. The holding bodies 36 are longitudinally spaced from the upper floor 26. They form a transverse row. The second holding bodies are supported against the tray 30 of the electric battery 12.

[0066] At least one or each branch connection 28 comprises at least one longitudinal section 38 and one transverse section 40. The transverse section 40 extends towards an associated wheel. The longitudinal section 38 and the transverse section 40 are connected by a bent section 42. Each bent section 42 provides flexibility to the corresponding branch connection 28. It may comprise a lace lengthening the branch connection 28. This aspect reduces the mechanical stresses linked to expansion. It also intervenes during pressure variations which deform the branch connection 28. Each longitudinal section 38 is held against the tank by the fixing means.

[0067] The holding bodies 36 are longitudinally at the level of the vertical wall, in particular the lower edge. The holding bodies 36 are arranged along the transverse sections 40. The latter are further extended by connection antennas directed towards the rear; for example towards the wheels and the braking modules.

[0068] [Fig. 4] shows a section of the structure 16 of the underbody 20 of a motor vehicle. The motor vehicle corresponds to that presented in relation to one of FIGS. 1 to 3. The lower floor 24 is shown in dotted lines.

[0069] The structure 16 has a mounting area 44 for the electric battery 12. The mounting area 44 is in the base 20. The mounting area 44 extends between the two side members (not shown) and cross members. The upper surface of the base 20 is formed by the upper floor 26 and the lower floor 24 which are joined by a vertical wall 32. In particular, the vertical wall 32 has a lower rim 34 and an upper rim 46. The rims extend longitudinally in opposite directions. The vertical wall 32 has a thickness greater than the thickness of the lower floor 24 and / or the thickness of the upper floor 26. This optimizes the rigidity and the maintenance of the connection connection 28.

[0070] The vertical wall 32 comprises a vertical plate whose upper and lower ends are respectively extended by the upper rim 46 and the lower rim 34. The vertical wall 32 is a single piece. It advantageously comprises a metal sheet, preferably made of steel or alternatively of aluminum alloy. It is shaped by stamping.

[0071] Alternatively, the vertical wall comprises a sheet of plastic matrix composite material loaded with fibers.

[0072] The lower rim 34 has an upper surface 48 and a lower surface 50 opposite the upper surface 48. The lower surface 50 delimits the mounting zone 44. In order to block the connection connection 28, the lower surface 50 has at least one holding relief 52, preferably a plurality of reliefs of maintenance 52. Generally, each maintenance relief 52 is a maintenance discontinuity.

[0073] Each holding relief 52 is capable of holding one of the branch connections 28 under the lower rim 34. The holding reliefs 52 are distributed along the branch connections 28, in this case along the transverse sections (not visible). The holding reliefs 52 form a transverse alignment. They are longitudinally at the same level. They are also vertically at the same level.

[0074] The remainder of the description will focus on one of the holding reliefs 52. However, the following features apply to each holding relief 52. The holding relief 52 includes a holding depression 54 formed in the lower surface 50. The holding depression 54 forms a cavity. It is concave. It is open downward. The holding body 36 extends vertically into the holding depression 54. The holding body 36 is partially housed in the holding depression 54. On the opposite face, the lower rim 34 has a boss 56 at the holding relief 52. The boss 56 forms an upward protrusion. The holding body 36 may be made of a flexible material. It may include a foam material, or an elastomer; which provides vibration damping. It may be substantially compressed against the tray 30 in order to improve holding stability.

[0075] The holding relief 52 comprises a main elongation 58 oriented transversely. The main elongation 58 corresponds to the largest dimension of the holding relief 52. The holding relief 52 comprises a profiled section 60 following the main elongation 58. The profiled section 60 is generated according to the same profile over its entire transverse length. The presence of the profiled section 60 improves the maintenance of the branch connection 28, and in particular of the cylindrical shape of the holding body 36.

[0076] The holding relief 52 comprises a first transverse width. The first transverse width is measured along the main elongation 58. The first transverse width is an average width. The holding body 36 associated therewith comprises a second transverse width. The second transverse width is measured along the branch connection 28 which passes through said holding body 36. It is less than the first transverse width, for example by at least 10%, which allows transverse adjustment of the holding body 36; and therefore facilitates the mounting of the branch connection 28.

[0077] The lower edge 34 has a lateral section 62 and a central section 64, preferably a lateral section on each side of the central section 64. Each lateral section 62 is under the central section 64. The central section 64 is vertically spaced from each lateral section 62. Each holding relief 52 is arranged in the lateral sections 62. The spacing of the central section 64 provides clearance for the passage of branch connections 28.

[0078] According to an alternative of the invention, each holding relief comprises a protrusion projecting below the lower surface. The protrusion longitudinally positions the associated branch connection. The protrusion comprises a positioning surface; for example directly in contact with the branch connection.

[0079] According to an alternative of the invention, each holding relief comprises a pair of protrusions. These protrusions are offset longitudinally and border the branch connection in order to immobilize and / or position it.

[0080] According to an alternative of the invention, each holding relief comprises a holding cutout. For example, the holding cutout forms a holding opening into which a holding body enters in order to index itself in position. The holding surface is for example flat around the holding opening.

[0081] The invention comprises the combination of all the embodiments shown by all the figures.

[0082] Figures 2 to 4 are isometric views. They each respect a specific scale, real angles and real proportions.
