Description

Title of the invention: Method and system for assisting in writing a text intended to describe a particular product

[0001] The invention generally relates to a method and a system for assisting in the writing of a text intended to describe a particular product, for example an advertisement for the sale of said product. Technical field

[0002] In business life, there are many situations where a person wishes to sell or resell a product to the highest bidder, and to do so must write an advertisement to be published in a newspaper or on the Internet.

[0003] In the context of the present invention, such an advertisement may concern any type of product having at least one characteristic whose format is standardized or normalized, as is the case for example for a book, an electronic device such as a telephone or even a motor vehicle. Prior art

[0004] In the current state of the art, the process of writing such an advertisement is manual and generally tedious, particularly for a person who is not familiar with this exercise and does not know a priori what form to give to the advertisement to optimally describe the product in question, nor what intrinsic characteristics of the product should be mentioned within this advertisement so that it presents maximum effectiveness in terms of attractiveness for potential buyers.

[0005] Furthermore, even if the person who has to write the advertisement is a professional in the commercial sector corresponding to the product in question and experienced in this exercise, therefore knowing the optimal form of the advertisement to choose in relation to the product in question, the manual entry of the intrinsic characteristics of the product is costly in terms of time spent and is a source of potential errors. Principle of the invention

[0006] The inventors, having observed the drawbacks inherent in the aforementioned state of the art, considered that it would be useful to design a method and a system making it possible to offer a user assistance in writing an advertisement which would automatically offer him a pre-filled model which he would then only have to complete. Summary of the invention

[0007] According to a first aspect, the present invention thus proposes a method and a system for assisting in the writing of a text aimed at describing a particular product, including: . a step of entering at least one piece of data specific to said particular product; . a step of selecting a textual model including vacant lexical spaces intended to be filled by signs specific to said particular product; . a step of querying a database using said specific data, which database contains a plurality of sets of signs specific to a plurality of products; . a step of production by the database of a set of signs specific to the particular product identified by its own data; and .a step of filling the text model using said specific signs.

[0008] The invention makes it possible to offer, to a user who is not accustomed to writing advertisements, a model designed by a professional in the commercial sector in question, which said user will only have to complete semi-automatically by indicating information known only to him, information relating to the intrinsic nature of the product intended to be inserted automatically into the text model after provision of the specific data by the user.

[0009] The invention thus makes it possible to simplify the drafting process for non-professional users, who will no longer have to create the advertisement models themselves, nor to ask themselves what characteristics should appear there.

[0010] Furthermore, by generating an at least partially pre-filled model, the method according to the invention saves considerable time for its user, whether a novice or a professional, and reduces the risk of input errors occurring.

[0011] According to a particular embodiment of the invention, within a set of specific signs, each sign is accessible by means of an index value specific to a single initially vacant lexical space included in the textual model.

[0012] Such a form of indexing will make it possible to automatically fill in the text model using specific signs, the position of which within the text is identified by the index values.

[0013] In certain embodiments of the invention, the specific data entered by the user may be used to identify a certain number of text models compatible with said specific data, it being up to the user to choose the one of the identified models which seems to him to be the most suited to his needs.

[0014] Alternatively, according to an advantageous variant of the invention, the specific data (DPR) being compliant with a particular standard, the textual model is selected according to said standard.

[0015] In this variant of the invention, the user is exempt from having to choose for himself the textual model to be implemented. This choice is made automatically after identification of the format of the specific data.

[0016] Thus, if the particular standard of said own data conforms to the format of a registration number or a VIN number (well-known abbreviation of the English expression “Vehicle Identification Number”), the selection step will automatically produce at least one text model corresponding to a motor vehicle.

[0017] According to a first material aspect, the invention also relates to a system for assisting in the writing of a text intended to describe a particular product, including: . means for entering at least one piece of data specific to said particular product; . means for selecting a textual model including vacant lexical spaces intended to be filled by signs specific to said particular product; . means for querying a database using said specific data, which database contains a plurality of sets of signs specific to a plurality of products; . means of production by the database of a set of signs specific to the particular product identified by its own data; and . means for filling the text model by means of said specific signs.

[0018] According to a second material aspect, the invention also relates to software intended for implementing the querying and filling steps included in the method according to the invention described above.

[0019] According to a third hardware aspect, the invention also relates to software intended for implementing the selection, querying and filling steps included in the method according to the advantageous variant of the invention described above. Brief description of the drawings

[0020] Other characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the following description of a particular embodiment, given by way of illustrative and non-limiting example, and with regard to the appended drawings, among which: Fig.l

[0021] [Fig.l] is a functional diagram which represents the operating mode of a system for assisting in the drafting of a text intended to describe a particular product in accordance with an advantageous variant of the invention; and Fig.2

[0022] [Fig.2] is a diagram which represents the operating mode of filling means included in this system. Description of the embodiments

[0023] [Fig.l] represents in schematic form a SYST system for assisting in the writing of a text intended to describe a particular product.

[0024] This SYST system includes means for entering at least one piece of data specific (DPR) to said particular product, represented here in the form of a computer terminal TRM, which may in other embodiments of the invention be replaced by a tablet, a smartphone or any type of interactive terminal.

[0025] In the example illustrated here, the SYST system comprises a server SERV capable of communicating with the TRM terminal and including:

[0026] . means for selecting a TXM textual model including, on the one hand, a set predetermined number of terms forming a textual structure, and, on the other hand, vacant lexical spaces intended to be filled by signs specific to said particular product; . means for selecting a TXM text model including vacant lexical spaces intended to be filled by signs specific to said particular product; . means for querying a DTB database using said specific DPR data, which database contains a plurality of sets of signs specific to a plurality of products; . means of production by the DTB database of a set ESS(DPR) of signs specific to the particular product identified by its own DPR data; and . means of filling the TXM text model using said specific signs. . means of production by the database of a set of specific signs ESS(DPR) for the particular product identified by its own DPR data; and . means of filling the TXM text model using said specific signs.

[0027] In the embodiment described here, the selection, querying and filling means comprise a CPU processor and at least one SFW software installed in a memory of the server SERV, which software includes a set of instructions intended to be executed by the CPU processor in order to carry out the selection, querying and filling steps in accordance with the description given below.

[0028] The operation of the SYST system is as follows:

[0029] During a so-called input step, a user of the TRM terminal wishing to benefit from assistance in writing a text intended to describe a particular product begins by entering data specific to this product using his TRM terminal.

[0030] In the example which will be described further on, this specific DPR data will conform to the format of a mineralogical number or a VIN number (well-known abbreviation of the English expression “Vehicle Identification Number”), the particular product therefore being a motor vehicle.

[0031] In other embodiments of the invention, the specific data may have a format conforming to the ISBN (“International Standard Book Number”) standard, in which case the particular product will then be a book, or another format conforming to the IMEI (“International Mobile Equipment Identity”) standard, in which case the particular product will be a mobile phone, etc.

[0032] The terminal TRM then sends to a server SERV a signal carrying the specific data DPR, following which the processor CPU triggers, during a so-called selection step, a query of a base of text models MXB which may be included in the server SERV, or external to it as is the case here. This query takes the form of a request message Mrq of a text model TXM identified by the server SERV as adapted to the format of the specific data DPR. The text model TXM thus obtained is stored in the server SERV with a view to being the subject of at least partial automatic filling before transmission to the user's terminal TRM.

[0033] In other implementation variants, the specific data DPR entered by the user may be used to identify a certain number of textual models TXM compatible with said specific data, which will then be proposed to the user who will be responsible for choosing the one which seems to him to be the most suited to his needs. After such a selection has been made by the user, the model thus chosen will be stored in the server SERV with a view to being the subject of at least partial automatic filling before transmission to the user's TRM terminal.

[0034] The relevant TXM textual model having thus been selected, the server SERV, during a so-called interrogation step, then sends to a remote CDB database an information request Rq(DPR) carrying in particular the specific data DPR, which will serve as a search index within said CDB database.

[0035] In the present example, the specific data being a mineralogical number or a VIN number, the CDB database queried having been set up by the Ministry of the Interior of the French State.

[0036] In response to this information request Rq(DPR), the database CDB sends to the server SERV a message carrying a set ESS(DPR) of signs specific to the particular product identified by its own data DPR.

[0037] During a so-called filling step, the server SERV can then automatically fill in the text model TXM using said specific signs, and return to the user of the terminal TRM a completed text model TXC.

[0038] [Fig. 2] illustrates a possible embodiment of the CSTP filling step included in a method according to a particular implementation of the invention. In the example illustrated here, the TXM text model includes, on the one hand, a predetermined set of terms (“AV”, “Ch”, “Color”, “Kms”, “State”, “Price(€)”) forming a text structure, and, on the other hand, vacant lexical spaces represented by rectangles and intended to be filled by special signs specific to that particular product.

[0039] Among the lexical spaces illustrated in this example, some RMU spaces are devoid of any information and will have to be filled in manually by the user, while others are identified by means of index values (D1, D3, J3, V7).

[0040] Furthermore, within the set of specific signs ESS(DPR), received by the server, each specific sign (“HYUNDAI”, “SANTA FE”, “BREAK”, “197”) is accessible by means of one of the index values (D1, D3, J3, V7) specific to a single initially vacant lexical space included in the textual model (TXM).

[0041] It should be noted that the signs “HYUNDAI” and “SANTA FE” are registered trademarks and are used here only for illustrative purposes, in order to give realism to the example provided.

[0042] Thanks to this form of indexing, the server processor can determine which specific sign to associate with which vacant lexical space within the TXM text model and thus automatically fill each of said spaces.

[0043] At the end of this CSTP filling step, the server transmits to the terminal a completed text file TXC in which all the vacant lexical spaces which could be have been automatically pre-filled.

[0044] Only vacant RMU lexical spaces will then possibly remain to be filled in manually by the user, during a manual FSTP entry step, as is the case in the example illustrated here, which concern specific information known only to the user, but which may be of considerable interest to potential purchasers.

[0045] After the user has completed this manual FSTP entry step, a final DAD advertisement is obtained and ready to be used on rental / sales platforms of the user's choice.

[0046] In other embodiments of the invention, the user may be required to manually fill in vacant text fields before the automatic filling step, for example in applications where the specific data entered by the user is used to identify several text models compatible with said specific data, it being up to the user to choose the one of the identified models that seems most suited to his needs. By then manually filling in the fields that are his responsibility in the model that he has chosen, and then validating the content, the user will then simultaneously validate his choice of text model and the filling step can then be executed with a view to producing the final advertisement.
