[0002] More particularly, the invention relates to decorated interior vehicle parts comprising at least one layer of natural material such as stone or wood or cork or the like.
[0003] Publication FR3096301A1 discloses a method for covering interior vehicle parts with a thin layer of natural material. This natural material may be in the form of an inorganic material such as stone, glass or ceramic or an organic material such as wood. This method consists of covering the interior vehicle part by coating it with an optional adhesion layer on which a support layer of the thin layer of natural material is applied, then said thin layer of natural material itself. A transparent water-based polyurethane adhesion primer layer is applied to said thin layer of natural material before covering the whole with at least one transparent protective surface layer, in particular one or more transparent surface layers of varnish.

[0010] - a layer of natural material applied over the surface to be decorated structural support, the layer of natural material having at least one su- superior in appearance,
[0011] - at least one protective surface layer applied above the surface su superior appearance of the natural material layer,
[0012] characterized in that the decorated interior part further comprises:
[0013] - a transversely deformable compressible layer having a first lower surface and a first upper surface,
[0014] - a flexible layer associated with the layer of natural material forming a bilayer of transversely deformable flexible appearance, the flexible layer having a second upper surface on which is applied a third lower surface of the layer of natural material and having a second lower surface,
[0015] - the structural support, the compressible layer, the flexible-looking bilayer and said at least one protective surface layer being stacked so as to form a multi-layer comfort and appearance coating on the structural support in which the compressible layer is applied by its first lower surface on the surface to be decorated of the structural support, the flexible appearance bi-layer is applied by the second lower surface of the flexible layer on the first upper surface of the compressible layer and said at least one protective surface layer is applied above the upper appearance surface of the natural material layer,
[0016] - the multi-layer coating being configured to confer local deformability reversible under the effect of a transverse bearing force applied to a final surface of said at least one protective surface layer forming the protective surface of the decorated interior part.
[0017] The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the decorated interior part of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, characterized in that the decorated interior part obtained is according to the invention and in that the method comprises at least:
[0018] - a step of providing the structural support comprising the surface to decorate,
[0019] - a step of providing the transversal deformable compressible layer saltly having the first lower surface and the first upper surface or a step of providing the material of the compressible layer in injectable form,
[0020] - a step of providing the flexible layer associated with the layer of natural material forming the bilayer of flexible appearance deformable transversely, the flexible layer having the second upper surface on which is applied the third lower surface of the layer of natural material and the second lower surface,
[0021] - an assembly step, during which at the end the structural support, the layer compressible layer and the flexible-looking bilayer are stacked so as to obtain a superposition of the compressible layer and the flexible-looking bilayer on the structural support in which: the compressible layer is applied by its first lower surface on the surface to be decorated of the structural support and the flexible-looking bilayer is applied by the second lower surface of the flexible layer on the first upper surface of the compressible layer,

[0032] [Fig.9] [Fig.9] represents a part of the assembly step of the method according to the third variant embodiment according to the invention.
[0033] The invention relates to a decorated interior part of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, comprising at least:
[0034] - a structural support 1 comprising a surface to be decorated SD,
[0035] - a layer of natural material 2 applied above the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1, the layer of natural material 2 having at least one upper surface of appearance SA,
[0036] - at least one protective surface layer 3 applied above the surface upper SA aspect of the natural material layer 2,
[0037] characterized in that the decorated interior part further comprises:
[0038] - a transversely deformable compressible layer 4 having a first lower surface SU and a first upper surface SS1,
[0039] - a flexible layer 5 associated with the layer of natural material 2 forming a flexible-looking bilayer 6 deformable transversely, the flexible layer 5 having a second upper surface SS2 on which is applied a third lower surface SI3 of the layer of natural material 2 and having a second lower surface SI2,
[0040] - the structural support 1, the compressible layer 4, the flexible-looking bilayer 6 and said at least one protective surface layer 3 being stacked so as to form a multi-layer coating 7 of comfort and appearance on the structural support 1 in which the compressible layer 4 is applied by its first lower surface SU on the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1, the flexible appearance bilayer 6 is applied by the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5 on the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4 and said at least one protective surface layer 3 is applied above the upper appearance surface SA of the natural material layer 2,
[0041] - the multilayer coating 7 being configured to provide local deformability reversible under the effect of a transverse support force F applied to a final surface SS4 of said at least one protective surface layer 3 forming the protective surface of the decorated interior part.
[0042] Advantageously, the superposition of the compressible layer 4, the flexible appearance bilayer 6 and said at least one protective surface layer 3 forms the multilayer comfort and appearance coating 7 which makes it possible to locally obtain a deformability which is reversible under the effect of a transverse bearing force F applied to the final surface SS4 of said at least one protective surface layer 3. Indeed, neither the natural material layer 2 nor the protective surface layer 3 is damaged when the bearing force F is applied orthogonally to the final surface SS4. In other words, the multilayer comfort and appearance coating 7 can pass following the application of the bearing force F from an undeformed state E1 to a deformed state E2 and can then return following the removal of the bearing force F from the deformed state E2 to the undeformed state E1 in a reversible manner. This results in a decorated interior room which has on the one hand a layer of natural material 2 with a visible upper surface of SA appearance which gives a decorative appearance in material . natural to the decorated interior room and which also has a soft feel which gives a feeling of comfort. As the layer of natural material 2 of the wood, cork, stone type is usually non-deformable or only slightly deformable, a surprise effect is obtained due to the gap between the visual appearance of the layer of natural material 2 conveying a rigid feeling of touch and the actual soft feel obtained thanks to the invention. The compressible layer 4 makes it possible to obtain the soft feel thanks to its deformability at least transversely. The flexible layer 5 gives its flexibility and suppleness to the layer of natural material 2 which alone is non-deformable or only slightly deformable or less deformable than the flexible layer 5 and the compressible layer 4.Said at least one protective surface layer 3 is configured to be locally deformable under the effect of a transverse support force F applied to its final surface SS4 so as not to be damaged.
[0043] Preferably, according to a first variant embodiment of the decorated interior part according to the invention, the compressible layer 4 is fixed by its first lower surface SU on the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 and the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 is bonded by the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5 on the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4 by means of an adhesion agent, for example glue.
[0044] Preferably and according to one possibility of the first variant, the compressible layer 4 is bonded by means of an adhesion agent, for example glue, by its first lower surface SU onto the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1. In this case, the decorated interior part contains an adhesion agent at the interfaces respectively between the surface to be decorated SD and the first lower surface SU and between the second lower surface SI2 and the first upper surface SSL. Advantageously, the adhesion agents applied respectively to the first lower surface SU and the surface to be decorated SD, as well as to the second lower surface SI2 and the first upper surface SS1 allow a robust hold and support and makes the adhesion of the materials to each other compatible.
[0045] Alternatively, the compressible layer 4 is overmolded by its first lower surface SU onto the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1. In this case, the decorated interior part contains an adhesion agent only at the interface between the second lower surface SI2 and the first upper surface SSL. Advantageously, the decorated interior part contains a limited quantity of adhesion agent compared to the possibility of the first variant described above.
[0046] Preferably, according to a second variant embodiment of the decorated interior part according to the invention, the structural support 1 and the flexible-looking bilayer 6 are superimposed while being at a distance from each other so as to provide a filling space E between the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 and the second surface lower SI2 of the flexible layer 5, which filling space E being filled with the compressible layer 4 preferably by foaming an injectable plastic foam type material.
[0047] Advantageously, this second variant makes it possible to obtain a decorated interior part which does not contain an adhesion agent at the interfaces respectively between the surface to be decorated SD and the first lower surface SU and between the second lower surface SI2 and the first upper surface SSL.
[0048] Preferably, according to a third variant embodiment of the decorated interior part according to the invention, the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 is fixed by the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5 to the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4, preferably by lamination, and the superposition of the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 on the compressible layer 4 is bonded by the first lower surface SU of the compressible layer 4 to the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 by means of an adhesion agent, for example glue.
[0049] Advantageously, in this case the decorated interior part contains an adhesion agent only at the interface between the surface to be decorated SD and the first lower surface SU. This third variant makes it possible to obtain a decorated interior part which contains a limited quantity of adhesion agent.
[0050] Preferably, the material of the compressible layer 4 is chosen from a plastic foam, an injectable plastic foam, a three-dimensional knitted textile, a rigid plastic material having a compressible honeycomb structure.
[0051] Preferably, the flexible layer 5 is chosen from a woven textile, a knitted textile, a non-woven textile, a film.
[0052] Generally, the material of the flexible layer 5 is advantageously chosen to allow bidirectional orientation along the first axis X and the second axis Y of the entire material coated on this one. The first X axis and the second Y axis being perpendicular to a third Z axis normal to the second upper surface SS2.
[0053] Preferably, the layer of natural material 2 has a substantially constant and homogeneous thickness of between 0.1 millimeter and 2 millimeters and preferably between 0.3 millimeter and 1 millimeter.
[0054] Although the layer of natural material 2 does not have a certain flexibility on its own before complexing with the flexible layer 5, it must however have a certain surface homogeneity in order to avoid its intrinsic deterioration at the level of its surface for example during a sheathing operation.
[0055] Preferably, the material of said at least one protective surface layer 3 is transparent or semi-transparent and is chosen to be locally deformable under the effect of the bearing force F.
[0056] The primary purpose of this protective surface layer 3 is to protect the natural material and to guarantee compliance with the automotive specifications submitted to this type of part and the secondary purpose is to comply with the support force F exerted orthogonally on the surface without damaging it.
[0057] The structural support 1 may be a rigid part, for example made of plastic and three-dimensional, such as a door panel element, an armrest, a hand rest, a dashboard element, a central console or the like.
[0058] Preferably, the material of the structural support 1 can be chosen from materials having a rigid structure once injected, such as thermosets and / or thermoplastics.
[0059] The material of the natural material layer 2 may be chosen from an inorganic material, for example stone, slate or the like, or an organic material, for example wood, cork or the like.
[0060] Preferably, the layer of natural material 2 used to form the flexible-looking bilayer 6 is devoid of a protective surface layer of the varnish type in order to avoid any deformation and deterioration of this protective surface layer 3.
[0061] The protective surface layer 3 preferably has a thickness of between 20 micrometers and 80 micrometers.
[0062] The material of the protective surface layer 3 can be chosen from polyurethane-based or water-based materials.
[0063] Several successive protective surface layers 3 can be applied above the upper surface of appearance SA of the layer of natural material 2 for example to create different visual effects and / or improve the resistance of the protection.
[0064] It may be a primary adhesion layer, for example made of transparent water-based polyurethane, covered with one or more transparent or semi-transparent surface layers of varnish.
[0065] The compressible layer 4 preferably has a thickness of between 2 millimeters and 5 millimeters.
[0066] The material of the compressible layer 4 can be chosen from polyurethane-based foamed materials, three-dimensional polymer mesh textiles such as 3D Mesh or even thermoplastics or thermoformables having a honeycomb structure so as to obtain softness.
[0067] The flexible layer 5 preferably has a thickness of between 0.2 millimeters and 1.2 millimeters.
[0068] The flexible-looking bilayer 6 preferably has a thickness of between 0.5 millimeters and 1.2 millimeters.
[0069] The multilayer coating 7 preferably has a thickness of between 2.5 millimeters and 7 millimeters.
[0070] The filling space E preferably has a thickness of between 0.5 millimeters and 10 millimeters and preferably between 2 millimeters and 5 millimeters.
[0071] The invention also relates to a method for manufacturing the decorated interior part of a vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle, characterized in that the decorated interior part obtained is according to the invention and in that the method comprises at least:
[0072] - a step of providing the structural support 1 comprising the surface to decorate SD,
[0073] - a step of providing the transversally deformable compressible layer 4 saltly having the first lower surface SU and the first upper surface SS1 or a step of providing the material of the compressible layer 4 in injectable form,
[0074] - a step of providing the flexible layer 5 associated with the layer of natural material 2 forming the flexible-looking bilayer 6 which is transversely deformable, the flexible layer 5 having the second upper surface SS2 on which the third lower surface SI3 of the layer of natural material 2 and the second lower surface SI2 are applied,
[0075] - an assembly step, during which at the end of the structural support 1, the layer compressible layer 4 and the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 are stacked so as to obtain a superposition of the compressible layer 4 and the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 on the structural support 1 in which: the compressible layer 4 is applied by its first lower surface SU on the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 and the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 is applied by the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5 on the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4,
[0076] - a step of applying the protective surface layer 3 following said assembly step, during which said at least one protective surface layer 3 is applied above the upper surface of appearance SA of the layer of natural material 2.
[0077] Advantageously, this method makes it possible to decorate a structural support 1 to obtain the interior part decorated according to the invention with a decorative appearance in natural material and a soft feel. The assembly step makes it possible to form the stack comprising the structural support 1, the compressible layer 4 and the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 from these three elements previously made available during the step of making the structural support 1 available, the step of making the compressible layer 4 available or the step of making the material of the compressible layer 4 available in injectable form and the step of making the flexible layer 5 available. The step of applying the protective surface layer 3 then makes it possible to deposit the protective surface layer 3 on the layer of natural material 2 to protect her.
[0078] Preferably, according to a first variant embodiment of the method according to the invention, during the assembly step, the structural support 1 and the compressible layer 4 are assembled together so as to obtain a superposition of the compressible layer 4 on the structural support 1 and during which the compressible layer 4 is fixed by its first lower surface SU on the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1, then by a bonding operation the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 is bonded by the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5 on the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4 by means of an adhesion agent, for example glue.
[0079] This first embodiment variant allows in particular the assembly of the compressible layer 4 with the flexible-looking bilayer 6 by a bonding operation which can be manual or automatic and which has the advantage of requiring very little investment in terms of tooling.
[0080] Preferably, the compressible layer 4 is bonded by a bonding operation using an adhesion agent, for example glue, via its first lower surface SU onto the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1. In this case, the method used has the advantage of requiring very little investment in terms of tooling. Thus, the method makes it possible to obtain the decorated interior part according to a possibility of the first embodiment variant of the decorated interior part which contains an adhesion agent at the interfaces respectively between the surface to be decorated SD and the first lower surface SU and between the second lower surface SI2 and the first upper surface SS1.
[0081] Alternatively, the compressible layer 4 is overmolded by an overmolding operation by its first lower surface SU on the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1. In this case, the method used has the advantage of limiting the use of an adhesion agent. Thus, the method makes it possible to obtain the decorated interior part according to another specificity of the first embodiment variant of the decorated interior part which contains an adhesion agent only at the interface between the second lower surface SI2 and the first upper surface SS1.
[0082] In this case, the adhesion agent can be produced, in a manner equivalent to glue or an adhesive, by the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible plastic layer 4 itself due to its properties at the end of the overmolding operation and in particular the viscosity state of the first upper surface SS1. Thus, in the case of overmolding of the compressible layer 4, it is advantageously not necessary to add glue or an adhesive to carry out the attachment with the flexible layer 5 which in this case is preferably a non-woven textile. The attachment of the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4 with the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5 is made by contact and slight penetration of the viscous plastic material of the compressible and hot layer 4 into the fibers of the non-woven textile of the flexible layer 5.
[0083] Preferably, during the assembly step, the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 and / or the compressible layer 4 is sheathed by a sheathing operation prior to said bonding operation.
[0084] Advantageously, the sheathing operation makes it possible to preform the flexible bilayer of appearance 6 and / or the compressible layer 4 to adopt the shape of the structural support 1 associated with the compressible layer 4. This sheathing operation is preferentially usable in the case of a structural support 1 of non-planar shape, for example curved.
[0085] Preferably, according to a second variant embodiment of the method according to the invention during the assembly step, the structural support 1 and the flexible-looking bilayer 6 are superimposed while being at a distance from each other so as to provide a filling space E between the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 and the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5, then the compressible layer 4 is filled in the filling space E, preferably by foaming a material of the injectable plastic foam type.
[0086] Advantageously, this second variant makes it possible to avoid the use of an adhesion agent during the method. Thus, the method makes it possible to obtain the decorated interior part according to the second embodiment variant of the decorated interior part which does not contain an adhesion agent at the interfaces respectively between the surface to be decorated SD and the first lower surface SU and between the second lower surface SI2 and the first upper surface SS1.
[0087] Preferably, according to a third variant embodiment of the method according to the invention during the assembly step, the compressible layer 4 and the flexible-looking bilayer 6 are assembled together so as to obtain a superposition of the flexible-looking bilayer 6 on the compressible layer 4 and during which the flexible-looking bilayer 6 is fixed by the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5 on the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4 by lamination, then by a bonding operation the superposition of the flexible-looking bilayer 6 on the compressible layer 4 is bonded by the first lower surface SU of the compressible layer 4 on the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 by means of an adhesion agent, for example glue.
[0088] In this third embodiment of the method, given that the flexible-looking bilayer 6 and the compressible layer 4 are directly complexed together by rolling and that a single bonding operation is carried out at the time of assembly of the compressible layer 4 with the structural support 1, it is possible to limit the use of an adhesion agent. Thus, the method makes it possible to obtain the part in decorated interior according to the third embodiment variant of the decorated interior part which contains an adhesion agent only at the interface between the surface to be decorated SD and the first lower surface SU.
[0089] Preferably, during the assembly step, the superposition of the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 on the compressible layer 4 is sheathed by a sheathing operation prior to said bonding operation.
[0090] Advantageously, the sheathing operation makes it possible to preform the flexible bilayer of aspect 6 associated with the compressible layer 4 to adopt the shape of the structural support 1. This sheathing operation is preferentially usable in the case of a structural support 1 of non-planar shape, for example curved.
[0091] Preferably, during the step of applying the protective surface layer 3 following said assembly step, said at least one protective surface layer 3 is deposited by spraying above the upper surface of appearance SA of the layer of natural material 2.
[0092] [Fig.l] illustrates a decorated vehicle interior part according to the invention which comprises the structural support 1 coated with the multilayer coating 7. The decorated vehicle interior part thus comprises a stack of layers which, starting from the bottom to the top, comprises: the structural support 1, the compressible layer 4, the flexible layer 5, the natural material layer 2, and the protective surface layer 3. In this example, the decorated interior part has a planar three-dimensional geometry.
[0093] [Fig.2] illustrates a decorated interior part of a vehicle according to the invention which comprises the structural support 1 coated with the multi-layer coating 7 similar to that of [Fig.l] but in which the decorated interior part does not have a flat three-dimensional geometry but a curved geometry.
[0094] [Fig. 3] illustrates the decorated vehicle interior part according to the invention which shows the structural support 1 coated with the multilayer coating 7 in the undeformed state EL The surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 is opposite the first lower surface SU of the compressible layer 4, the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4 is opposite the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5, the second upper surface SS2 of the flexible layer 5 is opposite the third lower surface SI3 of the natural material layer 2, the appearance surface SA of the natural material layer 2 is formed from the upper surface of the natural material layer 2 which is covered with the protective surface layer 3, the final surface SS4 of the protective surface layer 3 forms the protective surface of the decorated interior part.
[0095] [Fig.4] illustrates the decorated vehicle interior part according to the invention which shows the structural support 1 coated with the multilayer coating 7 in the deformed state E2. transverse support force F is applied to the final surface SS4 of said protective surface layer 3. The multilayer coating 7 is deformed locally and this results in the formation of a depression or indentation starting from the final surface SS4 and propagating in the thickness of the multilayer coating 7.
[0096] Figures 5 and 6 partly illustrate the method according to the first embodiment variant and more particularly, the assembly step, during which at the end the structural support 1, the compressible layer 4 and the flexible-looking bilayer 6 are stacked so as to obtain a superposition of the compressible layer 4 and the flexible-looking bilayer 6 on the structural support 1.
[0097] [Fig. 5] firstly illustrates that in the assembly step, the compressible layer 4 is sheathed by a sheathing operation, then by a bonding operation the compressible layer 4 is bonded by its first lower surface SU to the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 by means of an adhesion agent, for example glue, so that the structural support 1 and the compressible layer 4 are assembled together so as to obtain a superposition of the compressible layer 4 on the structural support 1.
[0098] Then [Fig.6] illustrates that then in the assembly step, the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 is sheathed by a sheathing operation, then by a bonding operation the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 is bonded by the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5 to the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4 by means of an adhesion agent, for example glue.
[0099] [Fig.7] partly illustrates the method according to the second embodiment variant and more particularly that the structural support 1 and the flexible-looking bilayer 6 are superimposed while being at a distance from each other so as to provide a filling space E between the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 and the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5, then the compressible layer 4 is filled in the filling space E, by foaming an injectable plastic foam type material.
[0100] Figures 8 and 9 partly illustrate the method according to the third embodiment variant and more particularly, the assembly step, during which at the end the structural support 1, the compressible layer 4 and the flexible-looking bilayer 6 are stacked so as to obtain a superposition of the compressible layer 4 and the flexible-looking bilayer 6 on the structural support 1.
[0101] [Fig.8] firstly illustrates that in the assembly step, the compressible layer 4 and the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 are assembled together so as to obtain a superposition of the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 on the compressible layer 4 and during which the flexible-appearing bilayer 6 is fixed by the second lower surface SI2 of the flexible layer 5 on the first upper surface SS1 of the compressible layer 4 by lamination.
[0102] Then [Fig.9] illustrates that then in the assembly step, the superposition of the flexible-looking bilayer 6 on the compressible layer 4 is sheathed by a sheathing operation, then by a bonding operation the superposition of the flexible-looking bilayer 6 on the compressible layer 4 is bonded by the first lower surface SU of the compressible layer 4 on the surface to be decorated SD of the structural support 1 by means of an adhesion agent, for example glue.
[0103] Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown in the attached drawings. Modifications remain possible, in particular from the point of view of the constitution of the various elements or by substitution of technical equivalents, without departing from the scope of protection of the invention.
