Description

Title of the invention: ANTIBALLISTIC PROTECTION STRUCTURE Subject of the invention

[0001] The subject of the present application is the registration of an anti-ballistic protection structure against the impacts of bullets, fragments or sharp and pointed objects, which is suitable for anti-ballistic plates for personal use or present in land, air or sea vehicles. State of the art of the invention

[0002] In the sector of Security Forces and Corps, such as police officers, military personnel, etc., the use of protective equipment for personal use or in vehicles, which is equipped with a structure resistant to impacts from long weapon projectiles, handguns, bullets, fragments of explosive devices and knife blows, is well known.

[0003] An example of a structure for such protective equipment is formed from a laminar structure of two adjacent blocks, each of which is provided with several layers or sheets that provide strength properties. Although it has been demonstrated that it satisfactorily meets its objective of providing greater maneuverability of movement to the user, and furthermore provides a greater degree of flexibility compared to other structures known in the prior art, in practice it has been observed that it is not suitable for marine environments. Therefore, in security operations that must be carried out in water areas, such as in the sea or in rivers or streams, the protection and flexibility properties may be negatively affected.

[0004] Furthermore, the applicant does not currently know of any invention having all the characteristics described in this specification. Description of the invention

[0005] The present invention has been developed in order to provide an anti-ballistic protection structure which is configured as a novelty in the field of application and solves the above-mentioned drawbacks, further providing other additional advantages which will be evident from the description which is accompanied hereinafter.

[0006] The present invention therefore aims to provide an anti-ballistic protection structure for personal use or vehicle protection panels, which comprises: - a first multi-layer block which has at least an outer receiving layer, an inner layer of ballistic material and an intermediate layer of ceramic material; and - a second multi-sheet pad which has a plurality of sheets of ballistic material.

[0007] In particular, the invention is characterized in that the first and second blocks are covered along the perimeter with a covering sheath which is made from plastic material with hydrophobic properties.

[0008] Thanks to these characteristics, an insulation of the internal antiballistic structure against moisture is guaranteed, so that it is possible to immerse the antiballistic structure without negatively affecting the protective properties or flexibility, being suitable for immersion in fresh water or salt water. This structure can be adapted to the manufacture of protective plates that provide optimal protection of vital areas, such as, for example, the vital organs of the thorax and the abdomen.

[0009] In a preferred embodiment, the plastic material of the covering sheath is polyurethane or a polyurethane-based material.

[0010] Advantageously, the covering sheath is heat sealed along the perimeter to the first and second blocks using an ultrasonic technique, so that a suitable fixing and sealing is ensured for the first block.

[0011] According to another aspect of the invention, each of the sheets of the second block is coated on its front and back face by means of a covering of flexible and slippery plastic material, such that, in a bending action, each of the sheets can slide relative to an adjacent sheet, so that it provides a greater degree of flexibility.

[0012] The anti-ballistic protection structure described therefore represents an innovative structure with structural and constitutive characteristics hitherto unknown for the purpose for which it is intended, reasons which, together with its practical utility, provide it with sufficient grounds to obtain the exclusivity privilege that is requested.

[0013] Other features and advantages of the anti-ballistic protection structure which is the subject of the present invention will be apparent from the description of a preferred, but not exclusive, embodiment which is illustrated by way of non-limiting example in the accompanying drawings, in which: Brief Description of the Drawings

[0014] [Fig.l] This is a schematic elevation view of an anti-ballistic plate provided with the structure according to the invention; and

[0015] [Fig.2] This is a cross-sectional view along line AA of [Fig.l] which shows the arrangement of the anti-ballistic protection structure according to the present invention; Description of a favorite achievement

[0016] In view of the figures mentioned and, according to the numbering adopted, one can observe therein an example of a preferred embodiment of the invention, which comprises the parts and elements which are indicated and described in detail below.

[0017] Furthermore, the terms first, second, third and the like in the description and claims are used to distinguish like elements and not necessarily to describe a sequential or chronological order. The terms are interchangeable in appropriate circumstances and embodiments of the invention may be applied in sequences other than those described or illustrated herein.

[0018] Furthermore, the terms upper, lower, top, bottom and the like in the description and claims are used for descriptive purposes and not necessarily to describe relative positions.

[0019] According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, there is provided an anti-ballistic plate (10) for personal use, for example, which is part of a protective vest, which is internally formed of an anti-ballistic protective structure which comprises a first multi-layer block, generally indicated by the reference numeral (A) which is constituted by an outer receiving layer (1), an inner layer of ballistic material (2) and an intermediate layer of ceramic material (3). Furthermore, there is provided a second multi-sheet block, generally indicated with the reference numeral (B), which has a plurality of sheets (4) of ballistic material superimposed on each other.

[0020] Furthermore, a first layer of an adhesive material (6) with elastic properties is provided, located between the outer receiving layer (1) and the intermediate layer of ceramic material (3), and a second layer of an adhesive material (7) is provided, located between the intermediate layer of ceramic material (3) and the inner layer of ballistic material (2).

[0021] The structure is covered superficially by a covering sheath (5) which is made from plastic material with hydrophobic properties.

[0022] The plastic material used in the covering sheath (5) is polyurethane or a polyurethane-based material.

[0023] Said covering sheath (5) is bonded along its perimeter to the first and second blocks (A), (B) by means of an ultrasonic technique, so that the entire perimeter remains heat-sealed.

[0024] Also mention that each of the sheets of the second block is coated on its front and back face with a covering made of flexible and slippery plastic material, such that so that, in a bending action, each of the sheets can slide relative to an adjacent sheet.

[0025] The details, shapes, dimensions and other accessory elements used in the manufacture of the anti-ballistic protection structure of the invention may be conveniently replaced by others which do not depart from the scope defined by the claims which are included below.
