[0001] The present invention relates to a composition for treating keratinous material, particularly skin, specifically for providing the skin with a sensation of transformation with good stability. Furthermore, the present invention relates to the use thereof. CONTEXT

[0002] The skin acts as a natural barrier between internal and external environments and therefore plays an important role in vital biological functions such as protection against mechanical and chemical damage, microorganisms, and ultraviolet radiation. However, the health and appearance of the skin can deteriorate due to environmental factors, genetic makeup, nutrition, and sun exposure.

[0003] The sensation of transformation together with stability are sought as one of the most desirable properties in the cosmetics / personal care industry.

[0004] Furthermore, the formulation of environmentally friendly cosmetic products, which are designed and developed taking environmental issues into account, is becoming a major objective in an effort to meet global challenges.

[0005] It is therefore essential to propose more sustainable compositions to address these environmental concerns.

[0006] In this context, it is important to develop new cosmetic compositions with a better carbon footprint, in particular by promoting the use of renewable raw materials and / or materials with a good naturalness index and / or materials of natural origin and, more particularly, materials of plant origin while reducing the use of compounds of petrochemical origin.

[0007] As such, consumers want new and improved compositions that are more durable and can provide personal care / makeup products with an improved transformative feel and good stability. DISCLOSURE SUMMARY

[0054] Polysaccharides produced by microorganisms

[0055] Dextran and dextran sulfate

[0056] Dextran is a neutral polysaccharide bearing no charged groups, which is biologically inert, prepared by fermentation of beet sugar containing only hydroxyl groups. It is possible to obtain dextran fractions of different molecular weights from native dextran by hydrolysis and purification. Dextran can in particular be in the form of dextran sulfate.

[0059] Succinoglycan is a high molecular weight extracellular polymer produced by bacterial fermentation, consisting of repeating octasaccharide motifs (repetition of 8 sugars). Succinoglycans are, for example, sold under the name Rheozan by the company Rhodia.

[0060] Polysaccharides isolated from algae

[0061] Furcellarane

[0062] Furcellarane is commercially obtained from the red algae Furcellaria fasztigiata. Furcellarane is produced, for example, by the company Est-Agar.

[0063] Polysaccharides of plant origin

[0064] This category of polysaccharides can be divided into homogeneous polysaccharides (a single species of saccharide) and heterogeneous polysaccharides composed of several types of saccharides. a. Homogeneous polysaccharides and their derivatives

[0065] The polysaccharide according to the present invention can be chosen from celluloses and their derivatives or fructans.

[0066] Cellulose and derivatives

[0067] The polysaccharide according to the present invention may also be cellulose or a derivative thereof, in particular cellulose ethers or esters (for example, methylcellulose, carboxymethylcellulose, hydroxymethylcellulose, hydroxyethylcellulose, hydroxypropylcellulose, hydroxymethylpropylcellulose, cellulose acetate, cellulose nitrate, nitrocellulose).

[0068] The present invention may also contain an associative polymer based on cellulose.

[0069] According to the present invention, the term "cellulose-based associative polymer" refers to any polysaccharide compound bearing in its structure linear sequences of anhydroglucopyranose (AGU) residues linked together by [3(1,4)] bonds. The repeating unit is the cellobiose dimer. The AGUs are in chair conformation and bear three hydroxyl groups: two secondary alcohols (at positions 2 and 3) and one primary alcohol (at position 6). The polymers thus formed combine through intermolecular hydrogen bonds, thereby giving the cellulose a fibrous structure (approximately 1500 molecules per fiber).

[0070] The degree of polymerization varies considerably depending on the origin of the cellulose; its value can range from a few hundred to several tens of thousands.

[0071] Cellulose hydroxyl groups can react partially or completely with various chemical reagents to give cellulose derivatives having intrinsic properties. Cellulose derivatives can be anionic, cationic, amphoteric, or nonionic. Among these derivatives, cellulose ethers, cellulose esters, and cellulose ester ethers are distinguished.

[0072] Among the nonionic cellulose ethers, mention may be made of alkylcelluloses such as methylcelluloses and ethylcelluloses; hydroxyalkylcelluloses, such as hydroxymethylcelluloses, hydroxyethylcelluloses and hydroxypropylcelluloses; and mixed hydroxyalkylcelluloses such as hydroxypropylmethylcelluloses, hydroxy-ethylmethylcelluloses, hydroxy ethylethylcelluloses and hydroxybutyl-methylcelluloses.

[0073] Among anionic cellulose ethers, carboxyalkyl celluloses and their salts may be mentioned. By way of example, carboxymethylcelluloses, carboxymethylcelluloses, and carboxymethylhydroxyethyl celluloses and their sodium salts may be mentioned.

[0074] Among cationic cellulose ethers, mention can be made of quaternized, crosslinked or non-crosslinked hydroxyethylcelluloses.

[0075] The quaternizing agent may in particular be glycidyltrimethylammonium chloride or a fatty amine such as laurylamine or stearylamine. Another cationic cellulose ether that may be mentioned is rhydroxyethylcellulosehydroxypropyltrimethylammonium.

[0076] Quatmized cellulose derivatives include, in particular: • Quaternized celluloses modified by groups comprising at least one fatty chain, such as alkyl, arylalkyl or alkylaryl groups comprising at least 8 carbon atoms, or mixtures thereof, • Quaternized hydroxyethylcelluloses modified by groups comprising at least one fatty chain, such as alkyl, arylalkyl or alkylaryl groups comprising at least 8 carbon atoms or mixtures thereof.

[0077] The alkyl radicals supported by the quaternized celluloses or the hydroxyethylcelluloses above preferably contain from 8 to 30 carbon atoms. The aryl radicals preferably designate the phenyl, benzyl, naphthyl or anthryl groups.

[0078] Examples of quaternized alkylhydroxyethylcelluloses containing C8-30 fatty acid chains include the products Quatrisoft LM 200, Quatrisoft LM-X 529-18-A, Quatrisoft LM-X 529-18B (C12 alkyl) and Quatrisoft LM-X 529-8 (Cl8 alkyl) sold by Amerchol and the products Crodacel QM, Crodacel QL (C12 alkyl) and Crodacel QS (C18 alkyl) sold by the company Croda.

[0082] Fructosans

[0083] The polysaccharide according to the present invention may in particular be a fructosan selected from rinulin and its derivatives (in particular dicarboxy and carboxymethyl inulins).

[0084] Fructans or fructosans are oligosaccharides or polysaccharides comprising a sequence of anhydrofructose motifs optionally combined with several residues of saccharides other than fructose. Fructans may be linear or branched. Fructans may be products obtained directly from a plant or microbial source or, alternatively, products whose chain length has been modified (increased or decreased) by fractionation, synthesis, or hydrolysis, particularly enzymatic hydrolysis. Fructans generally have a degree of polymerization from 2 to about 1000 and preferably from 2 to about 60.

[0085] Three groups of fructans are distinguished. The first group corresponds to products whose fructose motifs are largely linked by [3 (2, 1) bonds. These are essentially linear fructans such as inulins.

[0086] The second group also corresponds to linear fructoses, but the fructose motifs are essentially linked by [3 (2, 6) bonds. These products are levans.

[0087] The third group corresponds to mixed fructans, that is to say, containing [3(2,6) and [3(2,1)] sequences. These are essentially branched fructans, such as graminans.

[0088] The preferred fructans in the compositions according to the present invention are inulins. Inulin can be obtained, for example, from chicory, dahlia or Jerusalem artichoke, preferably from chicory.

[0089] In particular, the polysaccharide, especially inulin, has a degree of polymerization of 2 to about 1000 and preferably of 2 to about 60, and a degree of substitution of less than 2 on the basis of a fructose motif.

[0090] The inulin used for the present invention is represented, for example, by the products sold under the name BeneoTM inulin by the company Orafti, and under the name by the company Sensus.

[0095] Galactomannans (guar, carob, fennel, tara gum) and derivatives (guar phosphate, hydroxypropyl guar, etc.)

[0096] Galactomannans are non-ionic polysaccharides extracted from the endosperm of legume seeds, of which they constitute the storage carbohydrate.

[0097] Galactomannans are macromolecules consisting of a main chain of D-mannopyranose motifs with [3(1,4)] linkages, bearing lateral branches consisting of a single D-galactopyranose motif linked by an α(1,6) linkage to the main chain. The various galactomannans differ, on the one hand, in the proportion of α-D-galactopyranose motifs present in the polymer, and, on the other hand, in significant differences in terms of the distribution of galactose motifs along the mannose chain.

[0098] The mannose / galactose (M / G) ratio is approximately 2 for guar gum, 3 for tara gum and 4 for carob gum.

[0099] Guar

[0100] Guar gum is characterized by a mannose / galactose ratio of approximately 2 / 1. The galactose group is regularly distributed along the mannose chain.

[0101] The guar gums that can be used according to the present invention can be non-ionic, cationic, or anionic. According to the present invention, chemically modified or unmodified non-ionic guar gums can be used.

[0102] Non-ionic unmodified guar gums are, for example, the products sold under the names Vidogum GH, Vidogum G and Vidocrem by Unipektin and under the name Jaguar by Rhodia, under the name Guar by Danisco, under the name ViscogumTM by Cargill, and under the name guar gum by Aqualon.

[0103] Non-ionic hydrolyzed guar gums that can be used according to the present invention are represented, for example, by the products sold under the name by the company Danisco.

[0104] The modified non-ionic guar gums that can be used according to the present invention are preferably modified by Cl-6 hydroxyalkyl groups, among which we may mention, for example, the hydroxymethyl, hydroxyethyl, hydroxypropyl and hydroxybutyl groups.

[0105] Such non-ionic guar gums optionally modified by hydroxyalkyl groups are sold, for example, under the trade names Jaguar HP 60, Jaguar HP 105 and Jaguar HP 120 (hydroxypropyl guar) by the company Rhodia or under the name HP (hydroxypropyl guar) by the company Aqualon.

[0106] Cationic galactomannan gums preferably have a cationic charge density less than or equal to 1.5 meq / g, more particularly between 0.1 and 1 meq / g. The charge density can be determined by the Kjeldahl method. It generally corresponds to a pH of the range of 3 to 9.

[0107] In general, for the purposes of the present invention, the term "cationic galactomannan gum" means any galactomannan gum containing cationic groups and / or groups that can be ionized into cationic groups.

[0108] Preferred cationic groups are chosen from those comprising primary, secondary, tertiary and / or quaternary amine groups.

[0109] The cationic galactomannan gums used generally have an average molecular mass by weight between 500 and about 5 x 106 and preferably between about 103 and about 3 x 106.

[0110] Cationic galactomannan gums that can be used according to the Examples of the present inventions are gums comprising trialkylammonium cationic groups in (Cl-4). Preferably, 2% to 30% by number of the hydroxyl functions of these gums bear trialkylammonium cationic groups.

[0111] Among these trialkylammonium groups, special mention can be made of the trimethylammonium and triethylammonium groups.

[0112] Even more preferably, these groups represent 5% to 20% by weight relative to the total weight of the modified galactomannan gum.

[0113] According to the present invention, the cationic galactomannan gum is preferably a guar gum comprising hydroxypropyltrimethylammonium groups, i.e. a modified guar gum, for example, by 2,3-epoxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride.

[0114] These galactomannan gums, in particular guar gums modified by cationic groups, are products already known as such and are, for example, described in US patents 3,589,578 and 4,031,307.

[0115] The anionic guar gums that can be used according to the present invention are polymers comprising groups derived from carboxylic, sulfonic, sulfenic, phosphoric, phosphonic, or pyruvic acids. Preferably, the anionic group is a carboxylic acid group. The anionic group may also be in the form of an acidic salt, in particular a sodium, calcium, lithium, or potassium salt.

[0116] The anionic guar gums that can be used according to the present invention are preferably derivatives of carboxymethyl guar (carboxymethyl guar or carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar).

[0117] Carob

[0118] Carob gum is extracted from the seeds of the carob tree (Ceratonia siliqua).

[0121] Tara gum

[0122] Tara gum which can be used in the context of the present invention is sold, for example, under the name Vidogum SP by the company Unipektin.

[0123] Furthermore, agars are galactose polysaccharides contained in the cell wall of some of these species of red algae (rhodophyceae). They are formed from a polymer group whose basic skeleton is a [3(1,3) D- chain galactopyranose and an α(1,4)L3-6 anhydrogalactose chain, these motifs repeating regularly and alternately. Differences within the agar family are due to the presence or absence of solvated methyl or carboxyethyl groups. These hybrid structures are generally present in varying percentages, depending on the seaweed species and the harvest season.

[0124] Agar-agar is a mixture of polysaccharides (agarose and agaropectin) with a high molecular weight, between 40,000 and 300,000 g. mol-1. It is obtained by manufacturing algae extraction liquors, generally by autoclaving, and by treating these liquors which comprise about 2% agar-agar, so as to extract the latter.

[0125] Agar is produced, for example, by the B&V Agar Producers group under the names Gold Agar, Agarite and Grand Agar by the company Hispanagar, and under the names Agar-Agar, QSA (Quick Soluble Agar) and Puragar by the company Setexam.

[0126] Preferably, the second polysaccharide is selected from carrageenan, xanthan gum, gellan gum, pectin, chitosan and mixtures thereof; more preferably, selected from gellan gum.

[0127] Xanthan gum is a heteropolysaccharide produced on an industrial scale by the aerobic fermentation of the bacterium Xanthomonas campestris. Its structure, like cellulose, consists of a backbone of 3-D-glucose linked in the [3(1,4)] mode. One of the two glucose molecules has a trisaccharide side chain composed of α-D-mannose, 3-D-glucuronic acid, and terminal 3-D-mannose. The internal mannose residues are generally acetylated at carbon 6. Approximately 30% of the terminal mannose residues have pyruvate groups linked in a chelated form between carbons 4 and 6. The glucuronic acid and the charged pyruvic acid can be ionized, thus resulting in the anionic nature of xanthan gum (negative charge up to pH 1). The content of pyruvate residues and acetate residues varies depending on the species, the fermentation process, the post-fermentation conditions and the purification steps. These groups can be neutralized in commercial products with Na+, K+, or Ca2+ ions (Satia, 1986). The neutralized form can be converted to the acidic form by ion exchange or dialysis using an acidic solution. Xanthan gum has a viscosity of 0.6 to 1.65 Pa.s (Brookfield viscometer, type LVT, measured at 60 rpm at 25 °C) for an aqueous composition comprising a molecular weight of 1,000,000 to 50,000,000 and 1% xanthan gum. Xanthan gum, for example, products sold under the trade name Rhodicare by Rhodia Chimie, products sold by Cargill Texturizing Solutions, Inc. under the trade name Satiaxane™ (food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical industries), ADM, Inc. under the trade name Novaxan™ and products sold by CP-Kelco under the trade names Kelzan® and Keltrol®.

[0128] Gellan gum is a linear anionic heteropolysaccharide based on oligoside motifs composed of four saccharides (tetrasaccharides). D-glucose, L-rhamnose, and D-glucuronic acid in a 2:1:1 ratio are present in gellan gum as monomeric components. It is sold, for example, under the name Kelcogel CG LA by the company CP Kelco.

[0129] Pectins are linear polymers of α-D-galacturonic acid (at least 65%) linked at positions 1 and 4, with a certain proportion of carboxyl groups esterified with a methanol group. Approximately 20% of the sugars constituting the pectin molecule are neutral sugars (L-rhamnose, D-glucose, D-galactose, L-arabinose, D-xylose). L-rhamnose residues are found in all pectins, incorporated into the main chain at positions 1 and 2. The uronic acid molecules bear carboxyl groups. This function gives pectins the ability to exchange ions when they are in the COO⁻ form. Divalent ions (in particular calcium) have the ability to form ionic bridges between two carboxyl groups of two different pectin molecules. In nature, a certain proportion of carboxylic groups are esterified with a methanol group. The natural degree of esterification of a pectin can range from 70% (apple, lemon) to 10% (strawberry), depending on the source. By using pectins with a high degree of esterification, it is possible to hydrolyze the -COOCH3 groups to obtain weakly esterified pectins. Depending on the proportion of methylated and unmethylated monomers, the chain is therefore more or less acidic. HM (high methoxy) pectins are thus defined as having a degree of esterification greater than 50%, and LM (low methoxy) pectins are defined as having a degree of esterification less than 50%. In the case of amidated pectins, the -OCH3 group is substituted by an -NH2 group. Pectins are notably sold by Cargill under the name Unipectine™, by CP-Kelco under the name Genu, and by Danisco under the name Grinsted Pectin.

[0130] Carrageenans are anionic polysaccharides constituting the cell walls of various red algae (Rhodophyceae) belonging to the families Gigartinaceae, Hypneaceae, Furcellariaceae, and Polyideaceae. They are generally obtained by hot aqueous extraction from natural strains of said algae. These linear polymers, formed by disaccharide units, are composed of two D-galactopyranose units linked alternately by α(1,3) and [3(1,4)] bonds. They are highly sulfated polysaccharides (20 to 50%), and the αD-galactopyranosyl residues may be in the 3,6-anhydro form. Depending on the number and position of the sulfate ester groups on the repeating disaccharide of the molecule, several types of carrageenans are distinguished, namely: kappa-carrageenans, which have one sulfate ester group, and iota-carrageenans, which have two ester groups. sulfate, and lambda-carrageenans, which contain three sulfate ester groups. Carrageenans are composed primarily of potassium, sodium, magnesium, triethanolamine, and / or calcium salts of polysaccharide sulfate esters. Carrageenans are sold, notably, by SEPPIC under the name Solagum®, by Gelymar under the names Carragel®, Carralact®, and Carrasol®, by Cargill under the names Satiagel™ and Satiagum™, and by CP-Kelco under the names Genulacta®, Genugel®, and Genuvisco®.

[0131] Chitosan is a linear polysaccharide composed of randomly distributed [3-(1→4)] D-glucosamine (deacetylated unit) and N-acetyl-D-glucosamine (acetylated unit). It is prepared by treating the chitinous shells of shrimp and other crustaceans with an alkaline substance, such as sodium hydroxide.

[0132] Preferably, the second polysaccharide is present in an amount ranging from about 0.01% by weight to about 5% by weight, preferably from about 0.05% by weight to about 3% by weight, or from about 0.08% by weight to about 1% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition.

[0170] II. Evaluation of the compositions of the invention and comparative studies 1. Rheological characterizations

[0171] Rheology was measured using a rheology measuring instrument with the Anton Paar MCR301 rheological testing machine, spindle code model: cc027.

[0172] Test pattern: amplitude sweep

[0173] Shear stress: 0.01-200%

[0174] Shear speed: 10 s 1

[0175] K = (G0'-Gl') / y

[0176] AG = G0'-G0”

[0177] G0': the initial storage module

[0178] G0”: the initial lost module

[0179] Gl': the storage module when the curves G' and G" begin to intersect.

[0180] y: shear stress.

[0181] Stability was determined using the centrifugal technique. Weigh 10 g of each composition, then place each composition in a centrifuge at 900 rpm for 1 hour. Then remove each composition from the centrifuge and observe each composition. If there is no phase separation, no oil, and no appearance of fatty alcohol crystals, the composition is evaluated. it is rated as "stable", otherwise it is rated as "unstable".

[0182] Here, the term "phase separation" means that the emulsification system is not stable, that the aqueous phase and the oily phase are not totally separated, that the emulsification system is partially separated from the aqueous / oily phase.

[0183] The term "absence of oil" means that the emulsifying system cannot be formed, the aqueous phase and the oily phase are totally separated.

[0184] The compositions of the present invention and comparatives were evaluated and the results of the tests were presented in Table 3 as follows.

[0185] [Tables3] Expl Exp2 Exp3 Cepl Cep2 Cep3 Cep4 Cep5 Centrifugat ion (900 rcf, Ih) Stable Stable Stable Stable Unstable: phase separation Unstable: Phase separation Unstable: Absence of oil Unstable: Absence of oil, A crystal of fatty alcohol appears K 12.0 4 8.73 79.15 0.97 23.5 9.4 NA NA AG 121.96 69.0 8 203.1 5 2.6 7.54 42.02 NA NA Results of the trials

[0186] We can see that examples 1-3 are all stable, no phase separation, no absence of oil and / or no fatty alcohol has appeared.

[0187] The K value and the AG value can be used to assess the sensation of transformation. The higher the K (K = (G0'-Gr) / y) and AG (AG = G0'-G0”) values, the more evident the improvement in the sensation of transformation.

[0188] Compositions are considered acceptable if they have a K value greater than 2 and an AG value greater than 10.

[0189] All compositions of the invention are considered acceptable and have a good transformation feel and good stability.

[0190] As for Cepl, the Cepl compositions including only component (a) first polysaccharide without component (b) amphoteric surfactant and component (c) co-surfactant, exhibit less favorable rheological characterization compared to the compositions according to the present invention (e.g., Examples 1-3).

[0191] As for Cep2, the Cep2 composition including only the amphoteric surfactant component (b) and the co-surfactant component (c) without the first polysaccharide component (a) exhibits less favorable rheological characterization and is not considered acceptable, compared to the compositions according to the present invention (e.g., Examples 1-3).

[0192] As regards Cep3, the Cep3 composition including the polysaccharide other than component (a) the first polysaccharide, and including component (b) amphoteric surfactant and component (c) co-surfactant has less stability, and is not considered acceptable, compared to the compositions according to the present invention (for example, Examples 1-3).

[0193] As for Cep4, the Cep4 composition including the first polysaccharide component (a) and the amphoteric surfactant component (b) without the co-surfactant component (c) has less stability, and is not considered acceptable, compared to the compositions according to the present invention (for example, Examples 1-3).

[0194] As for Cep5, the Cep5 composition including component (a) the first polysaccharide and component (c) the co-surfactant without component (b) the amphoteric surfactant has worse stability and is not considered acceptable compared to the compositions according to the present invention (e.g., Examples 1-3). III. Conclusion

[0195] The composition disclosed in the present invention is superior in terms of beneficial properties, for example: stability, transformative effect, compared to the comparative. In addition, the compositions of inventive examples 1 to 3 are more durable.
