Description

Title of the invention: FRAME FOR JOINERY TECHNICAL FIELD AND PRIOR ART

[0001] The present invention relates to a frame for joinery comprising a frame and a glazing bead between which a panel is arranged, for example a glazed panel, and to joinery comprising such a frame.

[0002] Building entrances have a door block generally comprising a glass door and one or more fixed parts called frames. The frames are also often glazed. A transom window may also be provided forming the upper part of the door block.

[0003] The glazing is fixed to the frame by means of a glazing bead which is fixed to the frame and which ensures that the glazing is held in its rebate. Generally, one or more seals are provided to ensure the seal between the glazing, the frame and the glazing bead.

[0004] The fixing of the glazing bead on the chassis is carried out by means of screws which cooperate with nuts crimped on the chassis.

[0005] The position of the nuts on the frame is fixed to the construction according to the thickness of the glazing.

[0006] It may be desirable to replace the glazing with glazing having a different thickness than the glazing initially mounted on the frame. Most often, it is desired to install thicker glazing, in particular to improve the sound and / or thermal insulation of the door unit. However, with existing systems, it is not possible to easily replace a glazing with glazing of a different thickness. Indeed, it is necessary to plan to drill the frame again and crimp nuts. Such operations are not easily carried out without removing the door unit. Statement of the invention

[0007] It is therefore an aim of the present invention to provide joinery making it possible to relatively easily replace the closing panel, for example the glazed panel, with glazing of a different thickness.

[0008] The aim stated above is achieved by a joinery comprising a frame and a glazing bead and means for fixing the glazing bead to the frame comprising at least one set of screws, and a first set of nuts, the nuts being fixed to the frame so as to be able to fix a glazing of a first thickness between the frame and the glazing bead, the joinery comprising at least a second set of nuts fixed to the frame so as to be able to fix a glazing of a second thickness between the frame and the glazing bead or another glazing bead, the second thickness being different from the first thickness.

[0009] Thus, when one wishes to replace the first thickness glazing with a glazing of a second thickness, the fitter removes the screws mounted in the first set of nuts, removes the glazing bead and then the glazing. He then places the glazing of the second thickness, replaces the glazing bead or another glazing bead, and screws the screws into the second set of nuts whose positions allow the screws to be screwed directly into the nuts of the second set.

[0010] The replacement of the glazing is therefore significantly simplified.

[0011] The chassis may have more than two sets of nuts at different positions.

[0012] For example, a nut in one set is aligned with the nuts in the other sets in a direction perpendicular to the woodwork.

[0013] The present invention then relates to a frame for joinery comprising at least one frame, at least one glazing bead and at least one closing panel mounted tightly between the frame and the glazing bead, the glazing bead being fixed to the frame by means of screws cooperating with nuts fixed in the frame. The frame comprises at least a first set of nuts fixed to the frame for mounting a first closing panel having a first thickness and a second set of nuts fixed to the frame for mounting a second closing panel having a second thickness different from the first thickness.

[0014] In an exemplary embodiment, a nut of the first set and a nut of the second set are aligned in a direction orthogonal to a plane of the joinery.

[0015] The chassis is preferably made of metal and the nuts are welded onto the chassis, crimped onto the chassis or made directly into the chassis.

[0016] The chassis may comprise a rebate comprising a cheek and a rebate bottom, the distance between the nuts of the first set and the cheek is smaller than the distance between the nuts of the second set and the cheek.

[0017] According to an additional characteristic, the rebate bottom is provided with holes, the nuts being mounted in the holes.

[0018] The present invention also relates to joinery comprising a frame according to the invention, a glazing bead and a closing element between the frame and the glazing bead, the glazing bead being fixed to the frame by means of screws cooperating with the first set of nuts or the second set of nuts, the closing panel being for example a glazed panel.

[0019] The glazing bead is advantageously in one piece.

[0020] The present invention also relates to a door block comprising at least one piece of joinery according to the invention.

[0021] The present invention also relates to a method for replacing a first closing panel of a first thickness with a second closing panel of a second thickness in a joinery according to the invention or the door unit according to the invention, comprising the steps: - Removal of the screws cooperating with the nuts of the first set, - Removal of the glazing bead, - Removal of the first sealing panel, - Installation of the second sealing panel, - Installation of a glazing bead suitable for the second closing panel, - Installation of the screws in the nuts of the second set.

[0022] The glazing bead adapted to the second closing panel may be different from the glazing bead adapted to the first closing panel. Brief description of the drawings

[0023] The present application will be better understood with the aid of the description which follows and the attached drawings in which: - [Fig.l] represents an example of a door block to which the invention applies, - [Fig.2] is an exploded view of an example of a joinery according to the invention, - [Fig.3] is a detail view of [Fig.2], - [Fig.4] is a perspective view of the woodwork of [Fig.2], the glazing bead being in place, - [Fig.5] is a view of the carpentry of [Fig.4] according to the point of view of arrow V, - [Fig.6] is a sectional view along plane AA of [Fig.4], - [Fig.7] is a detail view of [Fig.6], - [Fig.8] is a detailed view of an alternative embodiment of a joinery according to the invention. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF EMBODIMENTS

[0024] In the following description, the term "joinery" means an assembly comprising a frame, at least one panel closing the frame, generally formed by glazing and at least one glazing bead. The joinery can be mobile and form a door or be fixed. The door can be sliding or hinged in rotation.

[0025] In [Fig.l], we can see an example of a door block intended to close the entrance to a building hall and to which the present invention can be applied.

[0026] The door block comprises a door P forming the opening and cooperating with a frame, two fixed parts on either side of the doors F1, F2 and a transom I in the upper part. The fixed parts F1 and F2 are also commonly referred to as “fixed frames”.

[0027] In this example, each of the elements of the door block comprises at least one glazed part.

[0028] The door has a single pane of glass as well as the transom, and the fixed parts. It will be understood that this configuration is only an example of an embodiment and is in no way limiting case.

[0029] In Figures 2 to 7, views of the fixed part F1 of the door block of [Fig.l] can be seen.

[0030] The fixed part F1 comprises a frame 2, a glazing (not shown) and a glazing bead 4. Preferably, the glazing bead 4 is mounted on the face of the frame 2 intended to be inside the building.

[0031] In the example shown, the frame 2 has a rectangular shape and the glazing bead 4 also has a corresponding rectangular shape, comprising a bearing portion 4.1 intended to bear against a face of the frame 2 and a fixing edge 4.2 intended to penetrate into the frame and ensure the fixing of the glazing bead on the frame. The external dimensions of the fixing edge 4.2 are such that it penetrates into the frame 2 with a mounting clearance. It will be understood that the frame and the glazing bead may have any other shape, for example any polygon shape, or even a circle shape.

[0032] The frame has a rebate 6 housing the edge of the glazing. The rebate 6 is delimited by a cheek 8 and a rebate bottom 10. The edge of the glazing is then pinched between the cheek 8 and the glazing bead 4.

[0033] The joinery includes means 12 for fixing the glazing bead 4 to the frame 2.

[0034] The fixing means comprise nuts fixed to the chassis and accessible to through the bottom of the rebate and screws cooperating with the nuts, the screws passing through the fixing edge 4.2 of the glazing bead.

[0035] In the example shown, the chassis comprises two sets of nuts E1, E2

[0036] The first set of nuts E1 is fixed to the frame at a distance dl from the cheek and the second set of nuts E2 is fixed to the frame at a distance d2 from the cheek. The distances dl and d2 are considered in a direction orthogonal to the plane of the joinery.

[0037] The nuts are distributed around the circumference of the chassis.

[0038] In [Fig. 2], it can be seen that the fixing means 12 comprise a nut across the width of the chassis and two nuts along the length of the chassis. In this example, the chassis therefore comprises six fixing zones.

[0039] In this example, each fixing zone comprises a nut from the first set and a nut from the second set.

[0040] The rebate bottom 10 has at each fixing zone two holes 16, 18 in each of which a nut of each set is fixed. The nuts are for example welded onto the chassis. Alternatively, the nuts are crimped onto the chassis. Alternatively, the nuts are made directly in the chassis, for this the chassis is tapped at the level of the holes.

[0041] The glazing bead 4 has holes 22 arranged so as to be aligned with the nuts.

[0042] It is possible to envisage that the glazing bead is configured for a glass panel thickness and has its own arrangement of nuts, thus forming a means of error correction for the choice of the glazing bead.

[0043] An example of a method for replacing the glass panel of a fixed frame will now be described.

[0044] The glazed panel of a first thickness is initially mounted between the frame 2 and the glazing bead 4, and the screws are screwed into the nuts of the set El.

[0045] It is desired to replace the glass panel with a panel of second thickness greater than the first thickness.

[0046] The fitter then removes the screws screwed into the first set of nuts, removes the glazing bead 4 and removes the glass panel.

[0047] He then places the second-thickness glass panel in the frame 2, replaces the glazing bead 4 if it is suitable or uses another thinner glazing bead to compensate for the increase in the thickness of the glass panel. The holes in the glazing bead 4 are directly aligned with the nuts of the second set, the fitter then screws the screws into the nuts of the second set.

[0048] The assembly is complete. The replacement is then quick and does not require drilling the chassis.

[0049] In the example shown, the nuts of the two sets of nuts are grouped together in each fixing zone ZI.

[0050] Alternatively, as shown in [Fig.8], the nuts of one set have their fixing zone Z1 and the nuts of another set have their fixing zone Z2. As a further variant, some nuts of the two sets have the same fixing zones and the nuts of the two sets have different fixing zones.

[0051] It can be envisaged that the two sets of nuts do not have the same number of nuts.

[0052] Furthermore, it may be envisaged that the nuts of the two sets are different, for example have different diameters. In this case, the screws used to fix the first thickness glass panel are different from those used to fix the second thickness glass panel.

[0053] It will be understood that each frame may have more than two sets of nuts, for example three, allowing a panel of a third thickness to be fixed.

[0054] In the example shown, the glazing bead is a single piece. Alternatively, the glazing bead may be in several parts.

[0055] In this example, the glazing bead has a cheek which rests against one face of the frame. Alternatively, the glazing bead does not have such a cheek and is entirely housed in the frame.

[0056] As explained above, the glass panel can be replaced by an opaque panel.

[0057] Thanks to the invention, the replacement of a panel, in particular a glazed panel, with a panel having a greater thickness, in a joinery is significantly simplified and does not require the use of a specific tool.
