AI Technical Summary
Existing concrete blocks used for safety barriers and coastal protection lack aesthetic appeal and integration with urban furniture, as they have smooth surfaces and do not effectively mimic natural mineral elements.
The use of fingerprint games with reliefs that reproduce the appearance of natural mineral elements, such as stone walls or rocky surfaces, is applied to the internal walls of a concrete block mold to create an aesthetic facing. These imprints are designed to be complementary, reducing or eliminating pattern repetition between blocks.
The method results in concrete blocks with surfaces that closely resemble natural mineral elements, enhancing their aesthetic value and integration with urban environments while minimizing visible molding marks.

Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: DEVICE FOR REPRODUCING A THREE-DIMENSIONAL MODEL COMPRISING NATURAL MINERAL ELEMENTS Technical field of the invention
[0001] The present invention relates to a device and a method for reproducing a three-dimensional model comprising natural mineral elements and a set of prints for implementing them. It applies, in particular, to the fields of construction and public works. State of the art
[0002] The approaches described in this section are approaches that could be pursued, but not necessarily approaches that have been conceived or pursued previously. Therefore, unless otherwise indicated, it should not be assumed that any of the approaches described in this section constitute prior art solely because of its inclusion in this section.
[0003] In public spaces, the safety of pedestrian areas, works and buildings requires extensive marking to prevent intrusions. Also, some road works involve the installation of structures such as retaining walls and decorative walls. In the case of coastal structures, it is essential to provide protection resistant to swell and waves. These different scenarios require the use of robust and aesthetic elements to integrate with street furniture.
[0004] Stackable concrete blocks of parallelepiped shape are known which have, on the visible faces, a smooth surface. They can be used as safety barriers and as elements for making walls. However, such blocks are not very aesthetic and their external appearance does not fit well with street furniture.
[0005] Concrete blocks of tetrahedral shape or "Accropode" ™ are known to be used as breakwater elements to reinforce the protection of coastal structures. However, similarly, such blocks have a smooth surface and blend little into the natural landscape. Summary of the invention
[0006] The general concept of the invention consists of implementing sets of impressions to be positioned on the internal walls of a concrete block mold making it possible to provide an aesthetic facing to the block, once the molding process is complete. These impressions carry reliefs preferably reproducing the appearance of natural mineral elements such as natural stone walls or a rock face. Their juxtaposition covers the flat surface of at least one internal wall of the mold. By modifying the set of at least two impressions used to cover one face of the mold, the repetition of patterns between two concrete blocks is reduced or even eliminated, a repetition which, when visible, reveals that these concrete blocks have been molded. Brief description of the figures

[0018] The present description is given without limitation, each characteristic of an embodiment being able to be combined with any other characteristic of any other embodiment in an advantageous manner.
[0019] It should be noted from now on that the figures are not to scale.
[0020] As understood from reading this description, various concepts inventive methods may be implemented by one or more methods or devices described below, several examples of which are provided herein. The actions or steps performed in carrying out the method or device may be ordered in any suitable manner. Accordingly, it is possible to construct embodiments in which the actions or steps are performed in a different order than that illustrated, which may include performing certain acts simultaneously, even if they are shown as sequential acts in the illustrated embodiments.
[0021] The indefinite articles "a" and "an", as used in the description, are to be understood as meaning "at least one", unless otherwise clearly indicated.
[0022] The expression "and / or", as used herein and in the claims, is to be understood to mean "either or both" of the elements so conjoined, i.e., elements which are present conjunctively in some cases and disjunctively in other cases. Multiple elements listed with "and / or" are to be interpreted in the same way, i.e., "one or more" of the elements so conjoined. Other elements may optionally be present, other than the elements specifically identified by the "and / or" clause, whether or not they are related to these specifically identified elements. Thus, by way of non-limiting example, a reference to "A and / or B", when used in conjunction with open language such as "comprising" may refer, in one embodiment, to A only (optionally including elements other than B); in another embodiment, to B only (optionally including elements other than A); in yet another embodiment, to both A and B (optionally including other elements); etc.
[0023] As used herein in the description and claims, "or" is to be understood inclusively.
[0024] As used in this specification and in the claims, the expression "at least one", with reference to a list of one or more elements, is to be understood to mean at least one element selected from one or more elements in the list of elements, but not necessarily including at least one of each element specifically listed in the list of elements and not excluding any combination of elements in the list of elements. This definition also allows for the optional presence of elements other than the specifically identified elements in the list of elements to which the expression "at least one" refers, whether or not related to those specifically identified elements. Thus, by way of non-limiting example, "at least one of A and B" (or, equivalently, "at least one of A or B", or, equivalently, "at least one of A and / or B") may refer, in one embodiment, to at least one, possibly including more than one, A, without B present (and possibly including elements other than B); in another embodiment. embodiment, at least one, optionally including more than one, B, without A present (and optionally including elements other than A); in yet another embodiment, at least one, optionally including more than one, A, and at least one, optionally including more than one, B (and optionally including other elements); etc.
[0025] In the claims, as well as in the description below, all transitional expressions such as "comprising", "including", "carrying", "having", "containing", "involving", "holding", "composed of", and the like, are to be understood as being open, i.e., as meaning including but not limited to. Only the transitional expressions "consisting of" and "consisting essentially of" are to be understood as closed or semi-closed transitional expressions, respectively.
[0026] Throughout the description, the term "interior" refers to what is in the space between two walls of a mold. The term "exterior" refers to what is not interior.
[0027] [Fig. 1] shows a schematic view of a mold 20 known in the prior art. This mold 20 has the general shape of a rectangular parallelepiped, 5 faces of which are closed, the upper face being entirely absent. This mold 20 comprises a larger lower face 30, two smaller lateral faces 25 and lateral faces of intermediate dimension between the face 30 and the faces 25. Edges 40 connect the face 30 and the faces 25. The faces 35 are not symmetrical with respect to the median ratio which is parallel to them. Indeed, one of the faces 35, visible in [Fig. 1], comprises hollows 85 in the form of truncated pyramids. The other face 35, in broken lines in [Fig. 1], comprises projecting truncated pyramids corresponding to the hollows 85. As illustrated by the arrow shown in [Fig.l], once a block 15 of concrete has been molded and hardened and the walls of the mold 20 have been removed, it is rotated a quarter of a turn around one of its edges connecting the face 30 and one of the faces 35 so that the block 15 takes its superposition position illustrated in [Fig.6]. In this position, pyramids of the concrete block obtained by molding in the hollows 85 are located on the upper face of the concrete block 15 to penetrate into the pyramidal hollows of another concrete block.
[0028] To reproduce a three-dimensional model comprising natural mineral elements, in the form of a rigid block, from a liquid or pasty product, a rigid mold 20 is used having at least two walls 25, 30, 35 forming an edge 40 between them, the space between the walls 25, 30 being the interior of the mold 20. Preliminarily, at least two walls of this mold 20 are filled with impressions made by molding the model. At least two so-called "coplanar" impressions 45, 46, 47 or 48 (shown schematically in [Fig. 2] and [Fig. 4]) have peripheries comprising complementary protrusions 50 and hollows 55. Thus, once juxtaposed, these em prints 45, 46 and 47 fit together without overlapping and without leaving any space between them: the protrusions 50 of one of the prints 45 or 46 and the hollows 55 of the other print 45 or 47 are complementary when the coplanar prints 45, 46 and 47 are juxtaposed in the same plane on a first wall, 25 or 30, of the mold 20. The coplanar prints are made jointly on a flat face of the model comprising natural mineral elements forming a relief, for example a stone wall with or without visible joints, a stack of stones or a rock wall, such as the rock wall 70 whose prints are illustrated in [Fig.8]. The protrusions 50 and the hollows 55 of the coplanar impressions 45, 46 and 47, polygonal, that is to say whose sides are straight in the figures, can take any geometric form, notably known in the field of puzzles. These protrusions 50 and these recesses 55 may, in particular, be self-locking, that is to say that the only way to assemble them is by a translational movement of one of the impressions along a translation axis perpendicular to the surface of the other impression. These protrusions 50 constitute grooves and the recesses 55 constitute tongues.
[0029] Preferably, at least one so-called “corner” imprint 60 is produced jointly with at least one of the coplanar imprints 46 on an edge of the model and is positioned at the angle on a wall of the mold 20 so that the corner imprints do not overlap and leave no space between them: their connecting line is an edge of the mold 20. It is noted that a coplanar imprint can also be an angle imprint, as is the case of the imprints 46, 47 and 60 in [Fig.4].
[0030] In [Fig. 3], examples of faces of the impressions 45, 46 and 47 are observed with, in broken lines, the edges common to these impressions. These broken lines are continued outside the impressions to increase their visibility. As can be seen, the impressions 45, 46 and 47 do not have an identical relief and therefore do not include any repetition of patterns which could reveal the artificial nature of the block which will be molded with these impressions. These impressions 45, 46 and 47 and the corner impressions 60, have, on their surface oriented towards the inside of the mold 20, the counter-molds of the model, in three dimensions. Each impression has, on a first face, reliefs forming the natural mineral elements 65 or 70 and takes the form of a wall of the mold on a second face opposite the first face. Generally, this second face is flat. However, in the case of models with complex shapes, this second face may include a relief, or even local edges. Preferably, the prints 45 or 60 have a low minimum thickness, for example less than two centimeters outside the reliefs that they carry and a maximum thickness of less than ten centimeters, including these reliefs.
[0031] In embodiments (not shown), at least one corner imprint partially covers two walls of the mold and an edge of this mold. In other words, such an imprint has two faces which follow two different planes of the model forming an edge between them.
[0032] In [Fig.5], we observe the first particular embodiment of a device 10 for reproducing a three-dimensional model, the subject of the present invention, all of the components of which have already been presented.
[0033] Once the molding has been carried out in the device 10, from a liquid or pasty product, typically concrete, the walls 25 and 35 of the mold 20 are removed, then it is tilted as indicated by the arrow in [Fig. 1] and the wall 30 of the mold 20 is removed. [Fig. 6] shows, schematically, the solid block 15 then obtained. This block carries the impressions, assembled as in the mold 20. These impressions are then removed to reveal the reproduction of the model.
[0034] Preferably, as illustrated in [Fig. 6], each impression comprises means for attachment to the walls 25, 30 or 35 of the mold 20. Each impression can be removed by hand, without tools, from the walls 25, 30 or 35 of the mold 20. In the embodiment illustrated in [Fig. 6], each impression comprises magnets 75 ensuring its retention on a metal wall of the mold 20, if the latter is made of ferromagnetic material. In embodiments (not shown), the magnets 75 are replaced by mechanical fasteners. Such mechanical fasteners can be tenons inserted into mortises in the walls of the mold.
[0035] [Fig. 1] shows a schematic view of an embodiment of a device 10 for reproducing a three-dimensional model, which is the subject of the present invention. The model, examples of photographs of prints of which are illustrated in FIGS. 4 and 8, comprises natural mineral elements. The prints have the counter-molds 65 or 70. The reproduction 15 is in the form of a rigid block 15. This reproduction 15 is obtained by molding a liquid or pasty product in a rigid mold 20 having at least two walls 25 and 30 forming an edge 40 between them, at least two of these walls supporting prints 45 and 60. The space between the walls 25 and 30 defines the interior of the mold 20.
[0036] The type of rigid mold 20 in which the rigid block 15 is molded and the dimensions of the rigid block 15 obtained may be of any type known to the person skilled in the molding art. For example, such a rigid block is a stackable rectangular block of the “Lego” ® type or a square-based bipyramidal block of the “Accropode” ™ type.
[0037] The production material of the rigid block 15 may be of any type known to the person skilled in the art of molding. For example, such a material is concrete. Each impression 45, 46, 47, 60 or 61 may be a solid of any shape. Preferably, the impressions 45 or 60 have a small thickness, for example less than 10 centimeters.
[0038] The sides of the periphery without protrusions 50 or hollows 55 of a coplanar impression can be positioned edge to edge on one side of the periphery without protrusions 50 or hollows 55 of another coplanar impression 49, as illustrated in [Fig.7], or at one end of a wall 25, 30 or 35 of a mold 20, in particular on an edge 40.
[0039] In variants (not shown) of the device 10, the protrusions 50 and hollows 55 are positioned on three sides of a coplanar impression to assemble two juxtaposed rows of coplanar impressions, for example the two rows illustrated at the top of [Fig. 7]. In variants (not shown) of the device 10, the protrusions 50 and hollows 55 are positioned over the entire periphery of the coplanar impression 45, to form assemblies on the edges 40 of the mold 20.
[0040] The corner impressions 46 and 60 have, between them, an angle of measurement identical to that of the angle of the edge 40.
[0041] Preferably, the natural mineral elements of the model comprise natural stones 90.
[0042] In embodiments, such as that shown in Figures 1 to 6, an imprint comprises an elastic and non-adherent material. The material may be a natural and / or synthetic polymer. For example, such a material is an elastomer such as a natural rubber and / or a synthetic rubber. Preferably, the material is a silicone.
[0043] A set of prints 45 to 48 comprises: - at least one imprint 46 called a “primer”, to be positioned edge to edge at a first end of a wall 30 of the mold 20, - at least one imprint 47 called “final”, to be positioned edge to edge at one of a second end of this wall 30 of the mold 20, and - at least one imprint 45, 48 called “intermediate”, placed, possibly with at least one other intermediate imprint, between a starter imprint 46 and a final imprint 47.
[0044] These imprints 45 to 48 have, on their periphery, protrusions 50 and hollows 55 configured so that the protrusions and the hollows of the imprints are complementary when these imprints are juxtaposed in the same plane on a wall 30 of a mold 20.
[0045] Preferably, these prints 45 to 48 have three different colors: - a first color, called “primer”, marking a primer print 46, - a second color, called “final”, different from the first color, marking a final print 47, and - a third color called “intermediate”, different from the starting color and the final color, marking an intermediate imprint 45, 48.
[0046] In the case where the model is a wall with visible joint, preferably, the edges of the impressions, 45, 46 and 47, which have protrusions 50 and hollows 55 follow such joints, which form ribs on the impressions. This technical characteristic has the advantage that the junctions between the ribs of the impressions are found, once the block is molded, at the bottom of the joint and are therefore less visible. Preferably, the entire periphery of an impression 45 which is not a corner impression follows such joints.
[0047] [Fig. 9] is a photograph of a stack 67 of blocks 15 having been molded with the reproduction device illustrated in [Fig. 5]. It can be seen that there is no horizontally repeating pattern on the same block 15.
[0048] [Fig. 10] represents, in the form of a flowchart, steps of a method 100 which is the subject of the invention.
[0049] This method 100 for reproducing a three-dimensional model comprising natural mineral elements, in the form of a rigid block comprises: - a step 105 of taking relief by molding the model, - a step 110 of forming at least two “coplanar” cavities 45, 46, 47 and 48, from the molding of the model, the peripheries of the coplanar cavities comprising protrusions 50 and hollows 55 configured so that the protrusions of one and the hollows of the other are complementary when the coplanar cavities are juxtaposed in the same plane on a first wall 30 of a mold 20, - a step 115 of placing the coplanar impressions in this mold, - a 125 of pouring a liquid or pasty product into the mold, between the impressions, - a step 130 of hardening this liquid or pasty product, and - a step 135 of demolding the hardened liquid or pasty product and removing the impressions.
[0050] For example, step 105 is carried out by positioning the model in a mold identical to the mold 20 and by pouring the material of the impressions between this model and the walls of the mold. Step 110 can be carried out by cutting the molding of the model obtained during step 105, without loss between two impressions. As explained above, preferably, the cutting line follows the ribs of the mold corresponding to the joints of the model. Preferably, magnets are inserted into the impressions thus obtained. For example, the liquid or pasty product used during steps 125 to 135 is concrete. Optionally, the rigid block is then deburred and / or painted. The impressions removed at the end of step 135 can be used for a new reproduction, with the same combination of impressions to form an identical reproduction, or in another combination of impressions to form a reproduction different. Presentation of the invention
[0051] The present invention aims to remedy all or part of the drawbacks of the state of the art.
[0052] To this end, according to a first aspect, the present invention relates to a device for reproducing a three-dimensional model comprising natural mineral elements, in the form of a rigid block from a liquid or pasty product, in a rigid mold having at least two walls forming an edge between them, the space between the walls defining the interior of the mold, this device comprising, on a first internal wall of this mold, at least two so-called "coplanar" impressions produced by molding the model, the peripheries of the coplanar impressions comprising protrusions and hollows configured so that the protrusions of one and the hollows of the other are complementary when the coplanar impressions are juxtaposed on this first wall of the mold.
[0053] Thanks to these arrangements, a molded block has a surface comprising natural mineral elements on which the molding marks of these elements are very barely visible. Indeed, the impressions being juxtaposed and the protrusions and hollows fitting into each other, the connections between the impressions are very barely visible.
[0054] In embodiments, the device further comprises, on a second wall of the mold, at least one so-called “corner” imprint made jointly with at least one of the coplanar imprints on an edge of the model.
[0055] The corner imprints allow a better result of molding the mineral elements on the edges of a block. In particular, the corner imprints make it possible to avoid having connection marks on the edges of the block.
[0056] In embodiments, a footprint comprises: - on a first side, reliefs molded on natural mineral elements carried by the model and - on a second side, magnets, manually detachable without tools from a wall of the mold.
[0057] These embodiments allow the user to easily place and remove the impressions in a mold. Indeed, the magnets allow the impressions to be easily moved on the walls of the mold.
[0058] In embodiments, an imprint is made of a resilient, non-adherent material.
[0059] These embodiments allow the user to easily remove the impressions from the molded block. Indeed, the flexible material allows the impressions to be peeled off by hand without tools from the surface of the concrete block. The non-adherent material allows the prints to be peeled off without adding intermediate products such as oil.
[0060] In embodiments, the protrusions and depressions of an impression comprise a polygonal shape.
[0061] These embodiments allow the protrusions and hollows of an imprint to follow the shape of the joints of a wall of natural mineral elements of which the reliefs of the imprint are the reproduction. The delimitations of the periphery of the imprints are barely visible on the rigid block once the molding process is complete.
[0062] In embodiments, at least three prints have three distinct colors: - a first color, called “primer”, marking an imprint to be positioned at a first end of a wall of the mold and - a second color, called “final”, different from the first color, marking an imprint to be positioned at a second end of this wall of the mold. - a third color called “intermediate”, different from the primer color and the final color, marking an imprint to be positioned between an imprint presenting the primer color and an imprint presenting the final color.
[0063] These colors provide a foolproof function when placing the impressions on the walls of the mold. The starting color of an impression indicates to the user that this impression is to be positioned first and on a first end of a wall of the mold. The final color of an impression indicates to the user that this impression is to be placed last and on an end opposite the first end. The installation of the impressions is facilitated by a visual color marker indicating the order of placement of the impressions.
[0064] In embodiments, at least a portion of the periphery of the impressions comprises ribs forming joints between the natural mineral elements of the model.
[0065] These embodiments make it possible to reduce the molding marks of the joints located between the peripheries of the impressions on the molded block. The connections between the impressions are very little visible on the molded block.
[0066] In embodiments, the device comprises at least one corner imprint molded on two faces of the model forming an edge between them.
[0067] Such an angle imprint avoids the risk of the presence of a mark on the edge of the block obtained by reproducing the model.
[0068] According to a second aspect, the present invention relates to a set of prints which comprises: - at least one so-called “primer” print, - at least one so-called “final” print, and - at least one so-called “intermediate” print, placed between a primer print and a final print; - these impressions having, on their periphery, protrusions and hollows configured so that the protrusions and hollows of the impressions are complementary when these impressions are juxtaposed in the same plane on a wall of a mold.
[0069] Thanks to these arrangements, several rigid molded blocks can be produced in a single mold without their superposition showing identical surfaces. Indeed, the impressions, in particular the intermediate impressions, have different geometric shapes from one set to another and the impressions of each set have protrusions and hollows compatible with those of the starting and final impressions.
[0070] According to a third aspect, the present invention aims at a method of reproducing a three-dimensional model comprising natural mineral elements, in the form of a rigid block which comprises: - a step of taking relief by molding the model and - a step of forming at least two so-called “coplanar” impressions, from the molding of the model, the peripheries of the coplanar impressions comprising protrusions and hollows configured so that the protrusions of one and the hollows of the other are complementary when the coplanar impressions are juxtaposed in the same plane on a first wall of a mold, - a step of placing coplanar impressions in this mold, - one of pouring a liquid or pasty product into the mold, between the impressions, - a step of hardening this liquid or pasty product, and - a step of demolding the hardened liquid or pasty product and removing the impressions.
[0071] The advantages, aims and particular characteristics of this set of prints and of this method being similar to those of the device for reproducing a three-dimensional model, object of the invention, they are not recalled here.
