Title of the invention: Bicycle assembly comprising a seat post and a seat rail technical field

[0001] This description relates to a bicycle assembly comprising a seat post and a seat rail. This description also relates to such an assembly further comprising a bicycle saddle. Previous technique

[0002] Typically, a bicycle comprises a saddle and a seatpost. The seatpost comprises a carriage equipped with clamping means in which two rods are clamped, arranged on an underside of the saddle and symmetrically positioned on either side of its longitudinal median plane.

[0003] Depending on the cyclist's body type, the leg muscle groups to be used according to the degree of fatigue, the terrain's gradient, and the intensity of the effort required, the longitudinal position of the saddle can be adjusted by loosening the clamping means and sliding the parallel rods within them. However, such an adjustment of the saddle's longitudinal position is limited by the length of the parallel rods. Therefore, to increase the range of accessible longitudinal saddle positions to suit all body types and uses, it is necessary to increase the length of the parallel rods and thus increase the saddle size, which runs counter to current objectives of weight reduction and compactness in the cycling industry.

[0005] A bicycle assembly is proposed comprising a seatpost and a seatpost clamp, the seatpost comprising a longitudinal portion extending along a first axis and a head at the upper end of the longitudinal portion, the seatpost clamp being fixed to the seatpost head at a first longitudinal position which has a first longitudinal offset along a first direction of the longitudinal direction relative to the first axis, the seatpost clamp further comprising clamping means configured for fixing a bicycle saddle to the clamp at a second longitudinal position which has a second longitudinal offset relative to the first longitudinal position, and wherein the clamp is configured to be fixed to the seatpost head in a removable manner according to: - a first configuration in which the second longitudinal position is offset relative to the first longitudinal position along a second direction of the longitudinal axis; or - a second configuration in which the second longitudinal position is offset from the first longitudinal position in the first direction of the longitudinal direction.

Assembly according to the preceding claim, in which: - in the first configuration, the carriage (20) is fixed to the head of the seat post (10) according to a first orientation of the longitudinal direction (X); and - in the second configuration, and the carriage (20) is fixed to the head of the seat post (10) according to a second orientation of the longitudinal direction (X). Assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, in which a portion of the head of the seat post (10) has a curvature in the first direction (SI) of the longitudinal direction (X). Assembly according to any one of the preceding claims, in which the carriage (20) comprises: - first and second external clamping means (30a; 30b) arranged on each side of the seat post (10) in a transverse direction (Y), the first and second external clamping means (30a; 30b) respectively having a first clamping surface (35a) and a second clamping surface (35b), the first and second clamping surfaces clamping means (35a; 35b) being respectively supported on first and second lower surfaces (13a; 13b) of the head (12) of the seat post (10) in opposite directions of the transverse direction (Y), the first and second external clamping means (30a; 30b) further comprising respectively first and second external jaws, - a fixing mechanism (50) configured to, when tightened, clamp each of the first and second clamping surfaces (35a; 35b) on the respective lower surface (13a; 13b) of the head (12) of the seat post (10) in the transverse direction (Y) in order to fix the carriage (20) removably on the seat post (10), - first and second internal clamping means (40a; 40b) arranged on an upper end of the head (12) of the seat post (10), the first and second internal clamping means (40a; 40b) being ...40b) comprising respectively first and second internal jaws, wherein the first internal jaw and the first external jaw form a first jaw (60a) in which a first saddle rail (101a) can be positioned in order to fix the latter to the carriage (20) when the fixing mechanism (50) is tightened, and wherein the second internal jaw and the second external jaw form a second jaw (60b) in which a second saddle rail (101b) can be positioned in order to fix the latter to the carriage (20) when the fixing mechanism (50) is tightened.;

5. Assembly according to the preceding claim, in which the first and second clamping surfaces (35a; 35b) and the first and second lower surfaces (13a; 13b) of the head (12) of the seat post (10) each extend in a flared manner in a vertical direction (Z).

An assembly according to claim 4 or 5, wherein the fixing mechanism (50) comprises a screw (51) and a nut (52) into which the screw is screwed, the screw (51) and the nut (52) being aligned along a second axis (A2) extending in the transverse direction (Y), the screw (51) extending along the second axis (A2) through the first external clamping means (30a) and the first internal clamping means (40a) and the nut (52) extending along the second axis (A2) through the second external clamping means (30b) and the second internal clamping means (40b).

7. An assembly according to any one of claims 4 to 6, wherein the first and second clamping surfaces (35a; 35b) and the lower surfaces of the seat post (10) are rounded about a third axis (A3) extending in the transverse direction (Y).

8. Assembly according to the preceding claim, in which the first and second internal clamping means (40a; 40b) each comprise a transverse wall (42a; 42b) having a lower surface (43a; 43b) bearing on an upper surface (14) of the head (12) of the seat post (10), the lower surface (43a; 43b) of the transverse wall (42a; 42b) of each of the first and second internal clamping means (40a; 40b) and the upper surface (14) of the head (12) of the seat post (10) being rounded around the third axis (A3).

9. An assembly according to any preceding claim, further comprising a bicycle saddle (100) attached to the saddle carriage (20).

An assembly according to the preceding claim, claim 4 applying, the saddle (100) further comprising first and second saddle rails (101a; 101b), the first and second saddle rails (101a; 101b) extending in the longitudinal direction (X) and each comprising a longitudinal portion disposed respectively in the first and second jaws (60a; 60b), wherein: - the first and second rails (101a; 101b) are capable of sliding longitudinally when the fixing mechanism (50) is loosened, and - the first and second rails (101a; 101b) are fixed to the carriage (20) when the fixing mechanism (50) is tightened.
