Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Fixing and rotation device for equipment applicable to the roof of vehicles Technical field
[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of fitting out intervention vehicles. It relates in particular to a fixing and rotation device for equipment applicable to the roof of vehicles, for example light signaling ramps, which makes it possible to change the direction of said equipment relative to the vehicle. State of the art
[0002] As is known, there are currently on the world market many types of signaling light bars for intervention vehicles, which are mounted in a defined orientation (normally rectangular, with the long side perpendicular to the direction of travel of the vehicle). These are fixed on the roof of the intervention vehicle, attached to metal rods by bolts, which gives rigidity and mechanical strength to the light bar, but at the same time restricts its configuration, making the signaling and information activity of the vehicle not very flexible and not very adaptable to various operating situations. To compensate for the fact that the information is linked to the directionality of the vehicle on which it is located, if it is not possible to transmit optimal information, including on safety and / or the road traffic lane to be taken, to the users concerned by positioning the vehicle in the direction of travel, it is necessary for the intervention vehicle equipped with the illuminated information panel to position itself on the road in such a way as to optimize the visualization of the emergency information when the user passes. Sometimes this is not possible and positioning the vehicle in a direction different from that of travel can compromise the reception of emergency information and not only of the light bar, and even hinder the smooth circulation of vehicles in safety. In other cases, the impossibility of positioning the vehicle near the emergency situation, due to the congestion it would cause by having to position itself in such a way as to optimize the visibility of the information, forces the operator to position himself in places far from where he would really be useful. In addition, in cases where the information must reach a wider radius of visibility, it is necessary to use several vehicles with the same information device, which generates an unnecessary waste of human resources, among other things.
[0003] Until now, no rotation device for intervention vehicle equipment, for example light bars, has been developed, which would be reduced dimensions and which would guarantee the resistance and solidity of fixing of the equipment, including in the case of a moving vehicle. Systems that are too bulky and bulky, in addition to their material cost, weigh down the vehicle, which affects its performance. On the contrary, systems that are too light may not guarantee sufficient hold and stability for the panel on the vehicle, especially when it is moving.
[0004] The technical problem that the present invention seeks to solve is obtaining the possibility of rotating the information light bar positioned on the roof of the vehicle in order to cover a greater radius of visibility and to facilitate emergency signaling according to the type of road intervention carried out, guaranteeing optimal mechanical performance in addition to facilitating the visualization of the information by the user, and consequently the very quality of the transmission of the information. Thus, the possibility of orienting the equipment in a position adapted to the road situation without constraints linked to the position of the vehicle would bring added value to any driver of road vehicles to whom the signaling is addressed. [0029] Detailed description of exemplary embodiments of the invention
[0030] It should be noted here that elements of different embodiments may be combined together in an unlimited manner to provide other embodiments, provided that they comply with the technical concept of the invention, as will be readily understood by those skilled in the art upon reading this description.
[0031] The present invention further refers to the prior art for its implementation, concerning the detail features not described such as, by way of example, elements of lesser importance generally used in the prior art in solutions of this type.
[0032] When referring to an element, it is always understood that it may be "at least one" or "one or more" of it.
[0033] Where a list of elements or features is included in this description, it is understood that the invention "comprises" or "consists of" these elements.
[0034] When listing features within a single sentence or bulleted list, one or more of the individual features may be included in the invention without connection to the other features in the list.
[0035] Two or more of the parts (elements, devices, systems) described above can be freely associated and considered as sets of parts according to the invention. Methods of implementation
[0036] With reference to [Fig.l], there is illustrated an alternative embodiment of a fixing and rotation device 100 according to the present description.
[0037] [Fig. 2] shows a signaling light strip 200 applied to the fixing and rotation device 100 of [Fig. 1]. It can be seen that the strip 200 can rotate around a vertical axis Z parallel to the direction of gravity and perpendicular to a transverse plane XY, defined by a first direction (X), for example parallel to a direction of travel of the vehicle, and a second direction Y.
[0038] The maximum angular range of the fixing and rotation device 100 is forty-five degrees both in the clockwise direction (Figure 2(b), maximum angular position ^max) and in the counterclockwise direction (Figure 2(c), minimum angular position relative to a zero angular position % conventionally, the zero angular position can be chosen to be that in which a rectangular signaling light strip 200, with a folding panel 210 inside a rectangular frame 220, is in a predetermined angular position, for example perpendicular to the direction of travel of the vehicle ([Fig.2](a)).
[0039] It should also be emphasized that, in general, commercially available signaling light strips 200 have by nature (without orientation) an angular visibility comprised in an interval of plus or minus thirty degrees relative to the zero angular position ^o-
[0040] Therefore, a signaling light strip 200, applied to the fixing and rotation device 100 according to the present invention, is characterized by an angular visibility comprised in an interval of plus or minus sixty-five degrees relative to the zero angular position Sq.
[0041] With reference to [Fig. 3], there is shown an exploded isometric view of the fixing and rotation device 100 of [Fig. 1].
[0042] The fixing and rotation device 100 comprises a group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 rigidly connected to each other in the form of a fixed base which can be securely fastened to the roof of the vehicle (not shown in the figures) on a first side of the fixed base, as well as a group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 which can be securely fastened to the equipment 200 and which can rotate around the vertical axis Z relative to the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80.
[0043] More specifically and in accordance with an advantageous alternative embodiment, the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 comprises a fixing plate 10 configured to fix the fixing and rotation device 100 to the roof of the vehicle by suitable bolts. According to the illustrated alternative embodiment, the fixing plate 10 is rectangular like the light bar 200, with optional projections 30 described in more detail below.
[0044] Preferably, two drawn metal wires are interposed between the fixing plate 10 and the roof of the vehicle.
[0045] Advantageously, the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 comprises a rack plate 20, which can be fixed integrally to the fixing plate 10 on a second side of the fixed base opposite said first side of the fixed base relative to said vertical axis (Z).
[0046] The rack plate 20 includes a toothed side 21 curved within the illustrated rectangular extension.
[0047] Advantageously, leveling washers can be inserted between the rack plate 20 and the fixing plate 10.
[0048] According to an advantageous alternative embodiment, two finishing plates 30 having a semi-circular edge are optionally fixed to the fixing plate 10, in order to accommodate at least one rubber seal applicable along the perimeter of the fixing plate 10.
[0049] As stated, the rack plate 20 is fixed relative to the transverse plane XY and has the function of limiting the movement of the pinion of a motor 40, which will be described in more detail below.
[0050] Advantageously, a low-friction sliding plate 60, preferably made of polyamide, can be positioned above the rack plate 20.
[0051] Advantageously, on the sliding plate 60 can be positioned a positioning ring 70 for stops with (six) respective sliding stops 71. Said sliding stops 71 are arranged in such a way that each sliding stop 71 is internally tangent to the opening of an anchoring plate 90, creating a concentricity constraint between the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 (of which the sliding plate 60, the positioning ring for stops 70 and the six sliding stops 71 are part) and the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 (of which the anchoring plate 90 is part).
[0052] Advantageously, a respective washer 75, preferably made of polyamide, can be placed in correspondence with each sliding stop 71.
[0053] Advantageously, to enclose on their upper part the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80, a closing plate 80 is present, with self-drilling screws 81 passing, in order, through the washers 75, through the stops 71 of the positioning ring for stops 70, through the anchoring plate 90, through the sliding plate 60 and through the rack plate 20.
[0054] Said self-drilling screws 81 do not prevent rotation of the anchor plate 90, although they keep it clamped between the washers 75 and the sliding plate 60. The anchor plate 90 is thus free to rotate around the vertical axis Z by sliding on the low-friction polyamide elements, without being able to move in the X, Y, Z directions to the extent that the movement is prevented by the centering of the self-drilling screws 81 and by the fact that the closing plate 80 is blocked on the fixing plate 10, keeping the assembly compressed.
[0055] The fixing and rotation device 100 further comprises rotation means 40 configured to rotate, around the vertical axis Z, the group of rotary elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 relative to the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80 between the minimum angular position (dmin) and the maximum angular position (^min) relative to the zero angular position (¾).
[0056] According to a particularly advantageous variant embodiment, the rotation means 40 comprise a motor 40 with a geared motor 41 extending in an extension direction and a pinion 42. The pinion 42, by means of an angular return on the geared motor 41, can rotate around a direction perpendicular to said extension direction and parallel to the vertical direction Z.
[0057] Preferably, as illustrated in [Fig. 4], the motor 40 is fixed between a shaft-carrying bracket 43 and a motor-carrying plate 44 by means of suitable bolts. The motor-carrying plate 44 is fixed to the equipment 200 by means of suitable bolts.
[0058] Advantageously, said pinion 42 of the motor 40 is a toothed pinion 42. The pinion 42 is arranged relative to the toothed side 21 of the rack plate 20 so as to form a rack gear, so as to guarantee the correct and binding distance between the pinion 42 and the toothed side 21.
[0059] With reference to Figures 5 and 6, since the toothed pinion 42 of the motor 40 is locked inside the rack 21 of the rack plate 20, the rotation of the pinion 42 causes the rotation, around the vertical axis Z, of the motor 40 and the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90, and consequently of the equipment 200 fixed thereto.
[0060] The fixing and rotation device 100 further comprises rotation locking means 50, configured to prevent rotation of the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 in an angular locking position.
[0061] According to a particularly advantageous variant embodiment and with reference to FIGS. 7 and 8, the rotation locking means 50 comprise a first 50 and a second 50 locking actuator (in [Fig. 7] a single locking actuator 50 is shown).
[0062] Advantageously, the first 50 and the second 50 locking actuators comprise a first 51 and a second 51 respective conical heads longitudinally movable relative to a first 52 and a second 52 respective actuator bodies.
[0063] Preferably, the first 50 and the second 50 locking actuators are fixed using a respective actuator carrier plate 53 to a support plate 54 by suitable bolts. Each support plate 54 can be fixed to the equipment 200.
[0064] In correspondence with the locking actuators 50, the fixing plate 10 comprises a first 11 and a second 11 respective female centerings. In said first 11 and second 11 female centerings the conical head 51 of the locking actuator 50 can be inserted in order to block the rotation of the fixing and rotation device 100 in the angular locking position.
[0065] The fixing and rotation device 100 further comprises at least one first angular sensor 91 configured to record the current angular position of the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 relative to the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80. Preferably, said first angular sensor 91 is a magnetic angular sensor.
[0066] Advantageously, in addition to the first angular sensor 91, the fixing and rotation device 100 according to the present description also comprises a second angular sensor 92 configured to record the zero angular position
[0067] Preferably, said second angular sensor 92 is a microswitch, more preferably a micrometric limit switch.
[0068] Advantageously, said microswitch 92 is fixed to the anchoring plate 90.
[0069] The microswitch 92 allows a subsequent safety check of the angular position for the authorization of activation of the blocking actuators 50 in correspondence with the zero angular position #o- During the movement of the vehicle, in fact, for safety reasons, it is necessary that the equipment 200 maintains a position perpendicular to the direction of movement.
[0070] Advantageously, the second angular sensor 92 is further configured to send to a central control unit at least one signal for activating the rotation blocking means 50, at the moment when it detects the zero angular position #o.
[0071] The fixing and rotation device 100 can also be connected to a user interface (not shown) configured to send an activation signal for the rotation means 40 and an end-of-rotation angular position. The end-of-rotation angular position is an angular position between the maximum angular position &max and the minimum angular position
[0072] Preferably, said user interface is located inside the vehicle.
[0073] The fixing and rotation device 100 further comprises a unit of central control configured for: • receive, from the first angular sensor 91, the angular position of the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90 relative to the group of fixed elements 10, 11, 20, 30, 60, 70, 71, 75, 80; • receive, from the user interface, the activation signal of the rotation means 40 and the end of rotation angular position; • activate the rotation means 40 on the basis of the activation signal of the rotation means, the current angular position and the end of rotation angular position and the angular position of the group of rotating elements 43, 44, 53, 54, 90; and • activate the rotation locking means 50 in the angular locking position.
[0074] Advantageously, the central control unit is further configured to receive at least one activation signal of the rotation blocking means 50 and consequently activate the rotation blocking means 50.
[0075] According to an advantageous variant embodiment, said blocking of the fixing and rotation device 100 is associated with the release of the parking brake of the vehicle: in this situation, the conical heads 51 of the blocking actuators 50 protrude to fit into the respective female centering 11, thus blocking the fixing and rotation device 100.
[0076] When the parking brake is applied, the first 51 and second 51 conical heads of the locking actuators 50 come out of the respective first 11 and second 11 female centers, allowing the rotation means 40 to rotate the fixing and rotation device 100 again.
[0077] According to yet another alternative embodiment, with reference to Figures 9 and 10, there is provided a fixing and rotation device 300 for equipment 200 applicable on the roof of vehicles, for example signaling light bars. The device 300 which is the subject of the present invention allows the orientation of the equipment 200 so as to ensure its visibility in all operating situations, in accordance with the embodiments described above. The device 300 comprises a group of elements 310 fixed under the equipment 200 and subjected to rotation at the same time as the equipment and a group of elements 350 fixed on the roof of the vehicle and relative to which the group 310 rotates. The group of elements subject to rotation 310 is for example represented by: two lateral stirrups 311 provided with a housing for position locking actuators 316 (with an actuator body 372 and a conical HEAD 371); a motor-carrying stirrup 312; a thermoformed casing 313 for the mobile part; a central rotation plate 314. This group of ROTARY elements 310 is fixed by suitable bolts (not shown) under central dies on the face of the equipment 200 facing the device 300 (face not shown).
[0078] The group of elements which are fixed on the vehicle 350 below the group 310 may comprise: a base plate 351 with a rack for movement 352 and a friction plate 353. The flat plate 354 which makes up the base plate 351 comprises, fixed thereto, two centering devices 330 with bearing 355 which are intended to guarantee the correct positioning of the actuators 316 in the blocking phase. The rotation position is detected by a magnetic proximity sensor 317, two mechanical end stops (not shown) fixed on the flat plate 354 guarantee the stopping of the movement in the event of anomalies. The zero-degree ramp position locking actuators 316 are activated and inserted into the female centering devices (not shown), at the ends of the fixed flat plate 354, only when the vehicle's handbrake (not shown) is released and the device is in the zero position; the position is detected by a magnetic proximity sensor 317 which reads the +45° -45° and zero-degree positions, with an accuracy of + / -4 degrees and zero degrees, and also, optionally, by a microswitch 356, via the input of the precision reading cam 370 of the zero-degree position, thereby activating the zero-degree locking actuators 316. To assemble the device, the procedure is to position a Pa sliding plate 359 in the center of the fixed group of elements 310, above the friction plate 353. Above this is positioned the group 310 fixed under the dies of the equipment 200, which can be a ramp with modifiable messages. The group 310 is fixed under the device 200 and resting on the block 350, by inserting between the central rotation plate 314 and the fixed plate 353 the sliding plate in Pa 359. The two blocks are concentric, thanks to the stops 360 and the bearings 355, these, being mounted on centering shafts (not shown), fixed with precision to the base plate 351, guarantee precise positioning of the zero degree position, by means of the adapted screws 362, the metal washers 363 and a central crosspiece 367.
[0079] The rotation block 310 is clamped on the fixed block 350 by means of threaded inserts (not shown) provided in the base plate, allowing the rotation of the former through the sliding of the central rotation plate 314 between the sliding plate 359 and the sliding washers 365. In this way the two blocks are clamped to each other 310 and 350, but the rotary block 310 can rotate around the Z axis to allow the sliding of the central rotation block 314 on the Pa elements 359 and 365 which keep them coupled. Finally, on the elements in the rotation block 310 are mounted first the two actuators 316 and finally the motor (with geared motor 369) with pinion 366 which centers the pinion 370 on the teeth of the rack 352.
[0080] Also described is a motor vehicle (not shown in the figures), comprising parking brake engagement means, as well as a fixing and rotation device 100 fixed to the roof of the motor vehicle and including a central control unit according to one of the preceding embodiments, in which the rotation blocking means 50; 316 are activated by the central control unit upon receipt of a signal activating the parking brake engagement means of the vehicle.
[0081] In the motor vehicle, the equipment 200 may be, as indicated above, a light signaling ramp with a rectangular base and in which said zero angular position #o is a position in which the long side of the rectangular base is arranged along the second direction Y and the short side is arranged along the first direction X when the latter is parallel to the direction of travel of the motor vehicle. Advantages of the invention
[0082] By means of the fixing and rotation device 100 according to the present invention, it is possible to rotate an equipment 200, for example a light bar with a retractable information panel, installed on the roof of a vehicle; in this way, it is possible for a road user to view the equipment 200 more efficiently and immediately.
[0083] As a result, in emergency intervention conditions, the fixing and rotation device 100 allows the vehicle on which it is installed to position itself functionally in relation to the road flow, for example obliquely in relation to the direction of travel on the roadway (for example to divert traffic), and to be able to possibly exit the operational signaling position in the shortest possible time, so as not to obstruct road traffic.
[0084] The invention also has the advantage of better definition of the light point (for better visualization of the written signaling messages) compared to the prior art.
[0085] The preceding paragraphs have described preferred embodiments and suggested variations of the present invention, but it should be emphasized that those skilled in the art will be able to make modifications and changes without departing from the scope of protection of the invention, as defined by the appended claims.
