Description

Title of the invention: ANTI-ROTATION DEVICE FOR FIXING ELECTRIC CABLES Technical field of the invention

[0001] The present invention relates to devices for fixing electrical cables making it possible to connect together several electrical cables, in particular ground cables, while making it possible to fix them relative to each other.

[0002] The present invention relates to a device for fixing electrical cables which further constitutes an anti-rotation means for the cables fixed to said device, as well as means for distinctly separating the connected cables. Technical background

[0003] Such a device finds its application for example in the field of automobile electrification and can concern problems of compactness and accessibility of means of grounding different ground wires.

[0004] Fixing devices are known which allow electrical cables to be connected together but which only represent bulky, time-consuming and complex solutions to put in place. In addition, without an effective anti-rotation function on the known devices, the connected cables may be caused to rotate on themselves or around the device, to overlap or to become tangled or even to break, which increases the risks of electrical incidents. Summary of the invention

[0005] The invention aims to overcome at least some of the aforementioned drawbacks and to propose a fixing device capable of combining the advantages of security, simplicity and reliability for its implementation.

[0006] In view of the above, the subject of the invention is a device for fixing electric cables, comprising a base and a cup which are made of electrically insulating material and which comprise retaining means, capable of cooperating mutually to hold said base against said cup in a closed configuration in which the base and the cup form a cylindrical passage, extending longitudinally in the center of the base and capable of housing a cylindrical stud, the retaining means, forming transverse cells for the passage of electric cables terminated by annular terminals to said cylindrical passage, to allow the passage of said annular terminals around a cylindrical stud inserted in said cylindrical passage.

[0007] Preferably, the base and the cup each have a generally cylindrical shape extending longitudinally when said device is in its closed configuration.

[0008] For example, the cup comprises a metal ring, overmolded in said cup and forming the passage, so as to allow axial retention of said cylindrical stud in said passage, when said cylindrical stud is inserted therein.

[0009] Advantageously, the retaining means comprise clips capable of cooperating mutually for removable retention of said base against said cup in the closed configuration of the device.

[0010] According to one embodiment, the retaining means comprise material protuberances configured to be crushed under pressure until deformation to allow said base to be held against said cup in the closed configuration of the device.

[0011] In one embodiment, the device provides centering elements for the longitudinal centering of the annular lugs in the base.

[0012] Advantageously, the cells are four to eight in number, and at least two are semi-open longitudinally in the closed configuration of the device.

[0013] The device may further provide that the cylindrical passage is capable of housing a cylindrical stud of the threaded stud type M.

[0014] Preferably, the base and the cup are connected by a strip of plastic material.

[0015] The invention also relates to an assembly comprising: - an electric cable fixing device as described above, the base and the cup being held against each other by the retaining means, in the closed configuration, - two to eight electric cables terminated by annular lugs, each of said electric cables passing through a separate transverse cell, said annular lugs being stacked in the base, - a cylindrical stud arranged in the passage, and in said annular lugs. Brief description of the figures

[0016] The invention will be better understood from a detailed study of an embodiment taken as a non-limiting example and illustrated by the appended drawings, in which:

[0017] [Fig-1] represents a fixing device according to the invention in open configuration, in perspective view.

[0018] [Fig.2] represents the same device in the closed configuration in front view. Detailed description of the invention

[0019] [Fig.l] illustrates the electric cable fixing device 1 of the invention.

[0020] In view of the above, the invention relates to a device for fixing electric cables which comprises a base 2 and a cup 3 which are made of electrically insulating material such as plastic.

[0021] The base 2 and the cup 3 comprise retaining means 8, 16 capable of cooperating mutually to hold said base 2 against said cup 3 in a closed configuration of the device 1.

[0022] In the closed configuration of the device 1, the base 2 and the cup 3 form a cylindrical passage 14, 20 extending longitudinally in the center of the base 2 and capable of housing a cylindrical stud 18.

[0023] The device may provide, for example, that the cylindrical passage 14, 20 is capable of housing a cylindrical stud 18 of the M6 threaded stud type.

[0024] The retaining means 8, 16 form transverse cells 17 for the passage of electric cables.

[0025] The transverse cells 17 thus make it possible to physically and electrically separate the electrical cables 11 to be passed through the device 1, which makes it possible to avoid any interaction between them and to prevent their premature wear.

[0026] Furthermore, these cables 11 can easily be mounted to ground them compactly on the device 1 in which a stud 18 connected to ground is placed.

[0027] Alternatively, it is possible to connect these cables 11 and the stud 18 at a non-zero voltage level, the device 1 serving as a terminal block between the cables 11 and the stud 18.

[0028] Preferably, the base 2 and the cup 3 are connected by a strip of plastic material 4, which makes it possible to form a thin hinge between these two elements, both to hold them together with a very low production cost, and to guide their assembly towards the closing configuration.

[0029] The electrical cables 11 are for example ground cables, the device 1 thus making it possible to ground several electrical harnesses.

[0030] The electric cables 11 are terminated by annular lugs 13 and are inserted into the device 1 up to the cylindrical passage 14, 20 to allow the passage of said annular lugs 13 around a cylindrical stud 18, when such a cylindrical stud 18 is inserted into said cylindrical passage 14, 20.

[0031] The passage of the annular lugs 13 of the electric cables 11 around a cylindrical stud 18 which can itself be inserted into the cylindrical passage 14, 20, makes it possible to fix a plurality of separate electric cables 11 on the device 1 by stacking on said cylindrical stud 18, and to provide them with separate cable paths thanks to the cells, which makes the assembly of the device 1 easier, as well as the safety of its transport and storage.

[0032] As illustrated by [Fig.2], the cells 15, 16, 17 are formed by successive notches 8, 12 placed in a crown around the annular bases 5, 10 of the base 2 and the cup 3.

[0033] The retaining means 8, 12 form for example these successive crenellations, which can be completed with openings 9 arranged around the base 2 or around the cup 3 to allow the insertion of opposite crenellations 8, 12 and thus allow both the better retention of the base 2 against the cup 3 and the translational guidance of one relative to the other during this assembly operation towards the closing configuration.

[0034] Slots 8, 12 of different sizes and shapes can be provided depending on the dimensions of the cables 11 to be passed through the cells 15, 16, 16 and depending on the support requirements of these cables 11 and depending on their number since, the lugs 13 being stacked, the cables 11 come out at different longitudinal heights in the cells.

[0035] It may be provided that complementary clips 16 arranged on the base 2 and the cup 3 allow, when closing the device 1, the longitudinal adjustment of the holding of the base 2 against the cup 3 so as to be able to quickly adjust, without tools, the height of the cells 17 to adapt the device 1 to the number of cables 11 to be connected to the stud 18.

[0036] Preferably, the base 2 and the cup 3 each have a generally cylindrical shape extending longitudinally when said device is in its closed configuration, which makes it possible to form a compact and easy-to-use device 1, the passage 14, 20 being straight.

[0037] For example, the cup 3 comprises a metal ring 6 overmolded in said cup 3 and forming the passage 14, 20 so as to allow axial retention of said cylindrical stud 18 in said passage 14, 20 when said cylindrical stud 18 is inserted therein.

[0038] The metal ring 6 is for example fixed to the cup 3 via arms 7 making it possible to stiffen the entire structure of the cup 3, while making it possible to center the metal ring 6 in the center of the cup 3, in particular in the center of its annular base 5.

[0039] As illustrated by [Fig.2], the lugs 13 can be tightened to each other and against the base 2 after having been inserted around the stud 18, by the reversible tightening of a set of nuts and washers 19 arranged on said stud 18 over the lugs 13 and / or the metal ring 6 stacked on said stud 18.

[0040] In the closing configuration, the cup 3 is thus placed on the terminals 13 and the metal ring 6 is crossed by the stud 18 and comes to bear against the upper terminal, which guarantees electrical contact between all the terminals 13 and the stud 8, as well as holding the cables 11 in their positions in their respective cells 17.

[0041] The retention in the respective cells 17 during the assembly of the device 1, in particular during the insertion of the lugs 13 on the stud 18, makes it possible to maintain all the cables 11 in the desired position at the same time and to prevent their rotation during the tightening of the nut 19 on the stud 18.

[0042] Advantageously, the retaining means 8, 12 comprise clips capable of cooperating mutually for removable retention of said base 2 against said cup 3 in the closed configuration of the device 1.

[0043] Alternatively, the retaining means 8, 12 comprise material protrusions configured to be crushed under pressure until deformation to allow said base 2 to be held against said cup 3 in the closed configuration of the device 1.

[0044] In one embodiment, centering elements 21 for the longitudinal centering of the annular lugs 13 in the base 2.

[0045] Advantageously, the cells 17 are four to eight in number, and at least two are longitudinally semi-open cells 15, 16 in the closed configuration of the device 1.

[0046] The invention also relates to an assembly comprising: - a device 1 for fixing electric cables as described above, the base 2 and the cup 3 being held against each other by the retaining means 8, 12 in the closed configuration, - two to eight electric cables 11 terminated by annular lugs 13, each of said electric cables 11 passing through a separate transverse cell 17, said annular lugs 13 being stacked in the base 2, - a cylindrical stud 18 arranged in the passage 14, 20 and in said annular lugs 13.

[0047] To assemble such an assembly for ground cables, these are for example assembled on the base by stacking on the stud 18 placed in the passage 14, 20.

[0048] In a case with six cells 17 corresponding to as many cable outlets, a part, for example four cables, can be pre-assembled under the metal ring 6, which is placed on these first cables 11, then after placing the device 1 in the closed configuration via the retaining means 8, 16, other cables can be added to the device 1 via the semi-open cells 15, 22.

[0049] The semi-open cells 15, 22 in fact allow additional cables 11 and their lugs 13 to be passed into the stud 18 over the metal insert 6 even in the closed configuration, said lugs 13 being able to be tightened by the following each other and against the base 2 and against said metal insert 6 by the set of nuts and washers 19.
