Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Packaging for at least one built-in electrical device TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The invention relates to packaging for at least one product, of the electrical appliance type, to be built-in.
[0002] It also relates to a blank for obtaining such packaging as well as a method of using such packaging. STATE OF THE ART
[0003] It is known to store built-in electrical equipment in packaging defining an internal space closed by a cover.
[0004] It is also known to provide templates making it easier to mark a support for embedding such electrical equipment.
[0005] For example, the template is simply inserted into the packaging and is retrieved by a user when opening the packaging. There is a risk of losing the template.
[0006] It is also known from US patent 4,294,354 to arrange a loudspeaker in an internal space of a packaging, one wall of which comprises a detachable portion. This detachable portion forms a template with fixing holes and a central orifice in which is provided an assembly instruction which is itself detachable from the detachable portion. Once the detachable portion is detached from the packaging, the wall comprises a hole the size of this detachable portion. Statement of the invention
[0007] The invention aims to provide packaging for at least one product, of the electrical appliance type, to be built-in, of the type of packaging described above, that is to say provided with a mounting template, which is particularly simple and convenient both in manufacture and in use.
[0008] To this end, the invention relates, according to a first aspect, to packaging for at least one product, of the electrical appliance type, to be built-in, comprising a bottom wall, a plurality of side walls attached to the bottom wall and defining together with the bottom wall a housing configured to receive the at least one product to be built-in, a cover comprising a closing wall extending from a first side wall of the plurality of side walls, opposite the bottom wall, and being configured to close said housing in a closed configuration of the packaging, an internal wall extending from a second side wall of the plurality of side walls and being interposed between the closing wall and the bottom wall in the closed configuration of the packaging, and a cutting template for embedding the at least one product to be embedded, said packaging being characterized in that the internal wall comprises a detachable portion forming the cutting template, and the cutting template is accessible in an open configuration of the packaging where the closing wall is spaced from the internal wall.
[0009] In the packaging according to the invention, as the detachable portion is formed in an internal wall of the packaging, that is to say that it is covered by another wall, here the closing wall, on the one hand the detachable portion is not accessible until the closing wall is moved away from the internal wall and therefore the packaging is not opened and, on the other hand, when the packaging is opened and the detachable portion is detached from the internal wall, the external integrity of the packaging is preserved.
[0010] In other words, not only is the risk of losing the cutting template avoided, but once the cutting template is detached, the packaging can be reused. For example, if a built-in product of the electrical appliance type is replaced, it can be stored in the packaging of the new built-in electrical appliance, or if the packaging includes several built-in electrical appliances, the extraction and assembly of one of the built-in electrical appliances does not prevent the other built-in electrical appliances from being kept in the same packaging, the integrity of which remains intact.
[0011] Preferred, simple, convenient and economical characteristics of the packaging according to the invention are presented below.
[0012] The detachable portion forming the cutting template may be at least partially pre-cut in the internal wall.
[0013] The detachable portion forming the cutting template may have a shape that is at least partially circular or at least partially rectangular.
[0014] The detachable portion forming the cutting template may have at least one indication of a geometric characteristic of the product to be embedded and / or at least one indication of positioning of the product to be embedded.
[0015] The internal wall may comprise a first flap which, when folded down, at least partially closes the housing, and the detachable portion forming the cutting template may be formed by projecting from the first flap.
[0016] The first flap may form a frame extending at least partially around the detachable portion forming the cutting template.
[0017] The packaging may comprise a second flap extending from a third side wall of the plurality of side walls, opposite the second side wall, and being interposed between the closing wall and the inner wall in the confi- closed packaging design.
[0018] The package may be configured such that, in the closed configuration of the package, the second flap at least partially overlaps the detachable projecting portion of the first flap.
[0019] The packaging may be configured so that, in its closed configuration, the inner wall closes off a major portion of the housing.
[0020] The bottom wall may comprise a plurality of transverse walls extending from the plurality of side walls, and at least one transverse wall of the plurality of transverse walls at least partially overlaps another transverse wall of the plurality of transverse walls.
[0021] The plurality of side walls may form a belt closed by a securing tab extending laterally from a first side of the first side wall, opposite a second side of the first side wall from which the second side wall extends, and being folded down and secured to an inner surface of another of the side walls.
[0022] The packaging may comprise members for closing said packaging, formed on the one hand by a tab extending from a fourth side wall of the plurality of side walls, opposite the first side wall, and on the other hand by a notch formed in the cover, the tab being inserted into the notch of the cover in the closed configuration of the packaging and being removed from the notch of the cover in the open configuration of the packaging.
[0023] The invention also relates, according to a second aspect, to a blank made of a predetermined material and configured to obtain, in a shaped state of the blank, a packaging as described above, which blank comprises a bottom wall, a plurality of side walls attached to the bottom wall, a closing wall extending from a first side wall of the plurality of side walls and configured to form a lid of said packaging, and an internal wall extending from a second side wall of the plurality of side walls and comprising a detachable portion forming a cutting template.
[0024] It will be noted that the blank is made from a sheet of a predetermined material and having dimensions larger than those of the blank itself. Consequently, forming the template in a detachable portion itself formed in an internal wall which extends from one of the side walls, makes it possible to use an area of material of the sheet which, without this template, would be destined for scrap when cutting the blank from the sheet.
[0025] The blank may comprise a belt formed by the first side wall, by the second side wall extending from the first side wall, by a third side wall and by a fourth side wall, with the fourth side wall extending from the second side wall and the third side wall extending from the fourth side wall.
[0026] The blank may include a securing tab extending laterally from a first side of the first side wall, opposite a second side of the first side wall from which the second side wall extends, and being configured to be folded down and secured to an inner surface of the third side wall in the shaped state of the blank.
[0027] The blank may include a plurality of transverse walls configured to form the bottom wall, including a first transverse wall extending from the first side wall opposite the closure wall, a second transverse wall extending from the second side wall opposite the inner wall, a third transverse wall extending from the third side wall, and a fourth transverse wall extending from the fourth side wall.
[0028] At least one of the first, second, third, and fourth transverse walls may be provided with a flap portion configured to hold the bottom wall in place in the shaped state of the blank.
[0029] The blank may comprise closing members configured to close said packaging in the shaped state of the blank, and formed on the one hand by a tab extending from a fourth side wall extending from the second side wall, and on the other hand by a notch formed at one end of the closing wall, opposite the first side wall.
[0030] The invention also relates, according to a third aspect, to a method of using a packaging as described above and comprising at least one product, of the electrical appliance type, to be embedded, the method comprising the following steps: articulating the closing wall by moving it away from the housing and the internal wall to open the packaging, articulating and moving the internal wall away from the housing, detaching the detachable portion forming the cutting template from the internal wall, extracting the product to be embedded, using the cutting template to position and embed the product to be embedded in a support. [0037] [Fig.l] illustrates a package 1 in a closed configuration.
[0038] The packaging 1 is here configured to receive the product to be built-in, of the electrical appliance type (not visible in this figure).
[0039] The packaging 1 is further configured to admit an open configuration (described below).
[0040] The packaging 1 comprises a belt 2, a cover 3 extending from the belt 2, and closing members 4 closing the cover 3 in the closed configuration of the packaging 1.
[0041] [Fig.2] illustrates a blank 5 in a flat state and which is configured to form the package 1 of [Fig.l], when the blank 5 has passed from the flat state to a shaped state.
[0042] The blank 5 is made of a predetermined material, which is for example cardboard, suitable for shaping the blank initially flat in the form of a sheet.
[0043] Note that the sheet initially has larger dimensions than those of the blank 5 itself, for cutting the blank 5 from the sheet.
[0044] Cutting lines of the blank 5 are here represented in solid lines and scoring lines, forming folding lines, are here represented in broken lines.
[0045] The belt 2 has a first end 6 and a second end 7 opposite the first end 6, and between which the belt 2 extends in a longitudinal direction.
[0046] The belt 2 is formed by a plurality of side walls, including a first side wall 8 on the side of the first end 6, a second side wall 9 extending from the first side wall 8, a third side wall 10 on the side of the second end 7 and a fourth side wall 11, with the fourth side wall extending from the second side wall 9 and the third side wall 10 extending from the fourth side wall 11.
[0047] In particular, the first end 6 of the belt 2 is defined by a first side of the first side wall 8, opposite a second side of the first side wall 8 from which the second side wall 9 extends; while the second end 7 of the belt 2 is defined by a first side of the third side wall 10, opposite a second side from which the third side wall 10 extends from the fourth side wall 11.
[0048] The first side wall 8 is delimited and articulated relative to the second side wall 9 by a first transverse fold line 12, the second side wall 9 is delimited and articulated relative to the fourth side wall 11 by a second transverse fold line 13, and the fourth side wall 11 is delimited and articulated to the third side wall 10 by a third transverse fold line 14.
[0049] The packaging 1 here in the blank state 5 further comprises a bottom wall 15 formed by a plurality of transverse walls, including a first transverse wall 16 extending from the first side wall 8, a second transverse wall 17 extending from the second side wall 9, a third transverse wall 18 extending from the third side wall 10 and a fourth transverse wall 19 extending from the fourth side wall 11.
[0050] Each of the first, second, third and fourth transverse walls 16, 17, 18, 19 is delimited and articulated relative to the respective first, second, third and fourth lateral walls 8, 9, 10, 11 of the belt 2, by a first longitudinal fold line 20 which extends along the belt 2.
[0051] In particular, the first longitudinal fold line 20 has a first segment 20a, a second segment 20b extending from the first segment 20a, a third segment 20c and a fourth segment 20d, with the fourth segment 20d extending from the second segment 20b and the third segment 20c extending from the fourth segment 20d.
[0052] The first segment 20a delimits and articulates the first transverse wall 16 relative to the first lateral wall 8, the second segment 20b delimits and articulates the second transverse wall 17 relative to the second lateral wall 9, the third segment 20c delimits and articulates the third transverse wall 18 relative to the third lateral wall 10, and the fourth segment 20d articulates and delimits the fourth transverse wall 19 relative to the fourth lateral wall 11.
[0053] The bottom wall 15 and the belt 2 are attached to each other at the first longitudinal fold line 20.
[0054] The first transverse wall 16 is provided with a first flap portion 21 formed projecting generally towards the second transverse wall 17, and the fourth transverse wall 19 is provided with a second flap portion 22 formed in a projection generally in the direction of the third transverse wall 18.
[0055] The first flap portion 21 is here articulated around a first fold line 23a formed in the first transverse wall 16, while the second flap portion 22 is here articulated around a second fold line 23b formed in the fourth transverse wall 19, here generally parallel to the first fold line 23a.
[0056] The packaging 1 here in the blank state 5 comprises a closing wall 24 extending from the first side wall 8, opposite the first transverse wall 16.
[0057] The closing wall 24 forms the cover 3 of the packaging 1.
[0058] The closing wall 24 is delimited and articulated relative to the first wall lateral 8 by a second longitudinal fold line 25a situated generally parallel to the first longitudinal fold line 20 and opposite its first segment 20a.
[0059] The closing wall 24 is provided with a third flap portion 26 formed as a projection and extending from the closing wall 24, opposite the first side wall 8.
[0060] The flap portion 26 is delimited and articulated relative to the closing wall 24 by a third longitudinal fold line 27 here parallel to the first longitudinal fold line 20.
[0061] The packaging 1 here in the blank state 5 further comprises an internal wall 28 extending from the second side wall 9, opposite the second transverse wall 17.
[0062] The internal wall 28 is delimited and articulated relative to the second side wall 9 by a fourth longitudinal fold line 25b situated generally parallel to the first longitudinal fold line 20 and opposite its second segment 20b, and extending the second longitudinal fold line 25a.
[0063] The internal wall 28 comprises a first flap 29 and a detachable portion 30 formed by projecting from the first flap 29.
[0064] The first flap 29 forms a frame which extends at least partially around the detachable portion 30.
[0065] The detachable portion 30 forms a cutting template 31 for embedding the product to be embedded.
[0066] The detachable portion 30 is at least partially pre-cut in the internal wall 28, so that the first flap 29 and the detachable portion 30 meet at a pre-cut line 4L.
[0067] The detachable portion 30 here has an at least partially circular shape and in the illustrated example has a generally circular shape.
[0068] The detachable portion 30 also has here a first indication 32 representative of a geometric center of the product to be embedded, and corresponding in particular to the geometric center of the cutting template 31, and a second indication 33 representative of the diameter of the product to be embedded, corresponding in particular to the diameter of the cutting template 31.
[0069] Since the blank 5 is made from a sheet of a predetermined material and having larger dimensions than those of the blank 5 itself, forming the cutting template 31 in the detachable portion 30 itself formed in the internal wall 28 which extends from the second side wall 9, makes it possible to use an area of material of the sheet which, without the cutting template 31, would be destined for scrap when cutting the blank 5 from the sheet.
[0070] The packaging 1 here in the blank state 5 further comprises a securing tab 34 extending laterally from the first side of the first side wall 8, opposite the second side of the first side wall 8 from which the second side wall 9 extends.
[0071] In other words, the securing tab 34 extends from the first end 6 of the belt 2.
[0072] The securing tab 34 is delimited and articulated relative to the first side wall 8 by a fourth transverse folding line 35 parallel to the first, second and third transverse folding lines 12, 13, 14.
[0073] The securing tab 34 here has a fourth flap portion 34a formed as a projection and extending from the securing tab 34 generally in the same direction as the internal wall 24.
[0074] The fourth flap portion 34a is delimited and articulated to the securing tab by a fifth longitudinal fold line 34b.
[0075] The packaging 1 here in the blank state 5 further comprises a second flap 36 extending from the third side wall 10, opposite the third transverse wall 18.
[0076] The second flap 36 is delimited and articulated relative to the third side wall 10 by a sixth longitudinal fold line 25c, situated generally parallel to the first longitudinal fold line 20 and opposite its third segment 20c.
[0077] The packaging 1 here in the blank state 5 further comprises a tab 37 extending from the fourth side wall 11 of the belt 2, and a notch 38 formed at the level of the first end 6 of the closing wall 24 opposite the first side wall 8 of the belt 2.
[0078] The tab 37 and the notch 38 form the closing members 4 of the packaging 1.
[0079] The tab 37 has a first portion 37a formed directly in the fourth side wall 11 and a second portion 37b formed projecting from the first portion 37a.
[0080] The first portion 37a of the tab 37 is delimited and articulated relative to the fourth side wall 11 by a seventh longitudinal fold line 39 situated generally parallel to the first longitudinal fold line 20 and opposite its fourth segment 20d.
[0081] The second portion 37b of the tab 37 is delimited and articulated relative to the first portion 37a by an eighth longitudinal fold line 25d situated generally parallel to the seventh longitudinal fold line 39.
[0082] Furthermore, the first portion 37a of the tab 37 is provided here with an orifice 37c, for example of semi-circular shape, at a junction with the second portion 37b of the tab 37 corresponding to the eighth longitudinal fold line 25d.
[0083] As in [Fig.l], [Fig.3] illustrates the blank 5 in the shaped state and therefore forming the packaging 1 in which the product to be embedded is received.
[0084] In particular, the product to be built-in is here an electrical device 40.
[0085] In the shaped state of the blank, the belt 2 of the packaging 1 is closed by the securing tab 34 so that the first, second, third and fourth side walls 8, 9, 10, 11 face each other two by two.
[0086] In other words, the first side wall 8 faces the fourth side wall 11, and the second side wall 9 faces the third side wall 10.
[0087] In particular, the securing tab 34 of the packaging 1 is in the illustrated example folded down and secured to an internal surface of the third side wall 10 to keep the belt 2 closed.
[0088] The first, second, third and fourth transverse walls 16, 17, 18, 19 form the bottom wall 15 of the packaging 1 and are configured so that at least some of them overlap others.
[0089] In particular, in the illustrated example, the first and second flap portions 21 and 22 are configured to hold the bottom wall 15 of the packaging 1 in place.
[0090] The bottom wall 15 and the belt 2 together define a housing 23 of the packaging 1 in which the electrical equipment 40 is received.
[0091] The closing wall 24 forming the cover 3 of the packaging 1 is configured to extend opposite the bottom wall 15 and close the housing 23 in the closed configuration of the packaging 1.
[0092] The flap portion 26 of the cover 3 is configured to come into contact with an inner surface of the fourth side wall 11 in the closed configuration of the condi- operation 1.
[0093] The internal wall 28 of the packaging 1 is configured to be interposed between the closing wall 24 and the bottom wall 15 in the closed configuration of the packaging 1.
[0094] The packaging 1 is configured so that, in its closed configuration, the internal wall 28 closes a major part of the housing 23 of the packaging 1.
[0095] In particular, the first flap 29 of the internal wall 28 at least partially closes the housing 23 of the packaging 1 when the first flap 29 is folded down, and the second flap 36 is interposed between the closing wall 24 and the internal wall 28 in the closed configuration of the packaging 1.
[0096] The packaging 1 is configured so that, in its closed configuration, the second flap 36 at least partially overlaps the detachable portion 30 projecting from the first flap 29.
[0097] The closing members 4 are configured to close the packaging 1 in the closed configuration of the packaging 1.
[0098] The tab 37 is configured to be inserted into the notch 38 in the closed configuration of the packaging 1 and to be removed from the notch 38 in the open configuration of the packaging 1.
[0099] As in [Fig. 3], figures 4 and 5 illustrate the packaging 1 in its open configuration, where the closing wall 24 forming the cover 3 is spaced from the internal wall 28, and in which the cutting template 31 is accessible.
[0100] In particular, the tab 37 is removed and at a distance from the notch 38, so that the closing members 4 no longer ensure, in comparison with [Fig.l], the closing of the packaging 1, thus making it possible to separate the closing wall 24 from the internal wall 28.
[0101] In [Fig.3], the second flap 36 partially overlaps the internal wall 28 at level of the detachable portion 30 forming the cutting template 31, and the internal wall 28 partially closes the housing 23 of the packaging 1, so that the electrical equipment 40 to be built-in is only partially visible.
[0102] In [Fig.4], the internal wall 28 is spaced from the bottom wall 15 and from the second shutter 36, so as to be substantially aligned with the second side wall 9 and allow removal of the electrical equipment to be built into the housing 23 of the packaging 1.
[0103] In [Fig.5], the detachable portion 30 forming the cutting template 31 is detached of the first flap 29 of the internal wall 28 at the level of the pre-cut line 41, with a view to mounting the electrical equipment to be built-in using the cutting template 31.
[0104] In [Fig.6], the cutting template 31 is positioned against a support 42, here a wall, to facilitate tracing a positioning mark on the support 42 for embedding the electrical equipment.
[0105] In this case, a portable electric device 43, here a drill equipped with a hole saw, is used to make a recessed hole conforming to the positioning mark made on the support 42 using the cutting template 31.
[0106] In other words, Figures 3 to 6 show how to use the packaging 1. In particular, the closing wall 24 is hinged and moved away from the housing 23 and the internal wall 28 to open the packaging 1, then the internal wall 28 is hinged and moved away from the housing 23, then the detachable portion 30 forming the cutting template 31 is detached from the internal wall 28 and the electrical apparatus 40 to be embedded is extracted from the housing 23, then the cutting template 31 can be used to position and embed the electrical apparatus 40 in the support 42.
[0107] In the packaging 1, as the detachable portion 30 is formed in the internal wall 28 of the packaging 1, that is to say that it is covered by another wall, here the closing wall 24, on the one hand the detachable portion 30 is not accessible until the closing wall 24 is moved away from the internal wall 28 and therefore the packaging 1 is not opened and, on the other hand, when the packaging 1 is opened and the detachable portion 30 is detached from the internal wall 28, the external integrity of the packaging 1 is preserved.
[0108] In other words, not only is the risk of losing the cutting template 31 avoided, but once the cutting template 31 is detached, the packaging 1 can be reused.
[0109] For example, if another electrical device is replaced, it can be stored in the packaging 1 of the new electrical device 40 to be built-in, or if the packaging 1 comprises several electrical devices to be built-in, the extraction and assembly of one of the electrical devices to be built-in does not prevent the other electrical devices to be built-in from being kept in the same packaging 1, the integrity of which remains intact.
[0110] Variants not illustrated are described below.
[0111] The blank can be made from plastic, paper, a composite material, or any other material allowing the blank to be shaped initially in the form of a sheet.
[0112] The number of side walls forming the packaging belt may be different from four, for example three, five, six etc., thus making it possible to produce the packaging in another form.
[0113] The detachable portion forming the cutting template may have another shape, for example at least partially rectangular, or any other shape generally complementary to that of the product to be embedded.
[0114] The detachable portion forming the cutting template may have at least one different indication of a geometric characteristic of the product to be embedded and / or an indication of positioning of the product to be embedded, for example instructions for use for assembly and / or for use of the product.
[0115] The closure members of the packaging may be other than a tab and a notch; they may, for example, be glued portions, or any other closure members allowing the packaging to be closed in its closed configuration.
[0116] The housing of the packaging can be configured to house several products to be built-in, for example of the electrical equipment type.
[0117] The product to be built-in, of the type of electrical apparatus, may be for example a switch, a circuit breaker, a socket, a lighting system or others.
[0118] The packaging may comprise several detachable portions, for example formed as protrusions on the same flap and / or on separate flaps.
[0119] More generally, the invention is not limited to the examples described and represented.
