Description

Title of the invention: Device for improving hinged shutters, in a solar protection tunnel.

[0001] The present invention relates to a device for improving single or double hinged exterior shutters, allowing the conversion of these shutters into a solar protection tunnel, favorable to the visual and luminous comfort of the occupants.

[0002] The traditional arrangements of hinged shutters, whether or not equipped with restrictors, allow for sun protection at the expense of the view and the supply of natural light.

[0003] The device according to the invention makes it possible to remedy this drawback. It includes, in fact, according to a first characteristic, an additional flap hinged horizontally in the upper part of the main flap. This additional flap, stored vertically when the shutter is in the open or closed position, is positioned horizontally when the main flap is in an intermediate position perpendicular to the facade. In this position, the additional flap, together with the main shutter panel, creates an enclosure around the bay window, forming a sun protection tunnel, while preserving the direct view and the supply of natural light.

[0004] The performance of the system in terms of reducing the solar factor of the bay or providing natural light can be evaluated by the tables of the thermal regulations in force or by a specific calculation.

[0005] The device can be made with any type of traditional construction material for hinged shutters such as: - The Woods - Aluminum, steel, PVC and composite sheets - Aluminum, steel, PVC and composite profiles

[0006] According to the particular embodiments: - The additional flap (1) can be positioned over the main leaf (2), [Fig.1] variant 1, or integrated into its thickness, [Fig.1] variant 2 and 3. - The additional flap can be handled and positioned horizontally by means of a rod (5) resting on the main leaf (1). - The assembly consisting of the main leaf (2), the additional flap (1) can lead to the production of a finished product. - In the case of a finished product, the assembly can be installed directly in the bay (3) or associated with an intermediate subframe (4). - The additional flap (1) can be an independent accessory mounted over the existing main flap (2) for installation in renovation. - The additional flap (1) can be equipped with a locking point (6) on the support frame of the shutter in the case of direct integration into the bay (3) or into an intermediate pre-frame (4). - The additional flap (1) can be directly joined to its neighbor by fitting (7) in the case of double hinged shutters.

[0007] Fig. 1 represents in axonometric projection the kinematics of the hinged shutter (2) and its complementary flap (1) in an intermediate solar protection position between the open and closed positions.

[0008] Figure 2 shows, in the intermediate sun protection position, three variants of this device, respectively from left to right: -Variant 1: Toilet seat (1) and shutter (2) made in a traditional way and intended to form a finished product or for installation in renovation. - Variant 2: Toilet seat (1) and shutter (2) made of corrugated sheet metal intended to form a finished product. - Variant 3: Toilet seat (1) and shutter (2) made from wooden sections or profiles intended to form a finished product.

[0009] Figure 3 represents, in axonometric projection, the open, intermediate (solar protection) and closed positions of a particular embodiment of the invention in the case of double hinged shutters made of corrugated sheet metal: The hinged shutter (2) and the drop leaf (1) can be made of interlocking corrugated sheets, with the additional drop leaf (1) integrated into the thickness of the shutter (2). The corrugated sheets of the main shutter (2) and its additional drop leaf (1) can be reinforced by crossbars. The upper crossbar of the flap (1) can be hinged directly on the flap (2) in order to facilitate the opening kinematics and the compactness of the assembly in the closed position. The lifting and support rod (5) of the additional flap (1) can rest on the crossbar of the hinged shutter when the additional flap (1) is open. The assembly can be locked in place by securing (6) the secondary flap in the open position to a peripheral subframe (4).

[0010] Fig. 4 designates in axonometric terms bay (3) and fittings (7) of twin flaps in the case of double hinged shutters.

[0011] With reference to Figures 1 to 4, the device comprises: A horizontally hinged supplementary flap (1) on a main hinged shutter (2). The assembly is integrated directly into the opening of a wall (3) or via a peripheral subframe (4). The flap is positioned by via a rod (5) supported on the main leaf. The assembly is locked in the sun protection position by means of a fitting between the flap and the shutter frame (6) or by fittings between the flaps themselves (7).

[0012] The device according to the invention is particularly intended for improving ranges of new hinged shutters and for improving existing hinged shutters by addition. The system is part of the search for improvement of existing buildings, as well as the design of new buildings subject to global warming.
