Description

Title of the invention: Electronic cut-off protection device

[0001] The invention relates to the field of electronic cut-off protection devices.

[0002] Electronic cut-off protection devices are known, for example, from publication WO2022106527A1 or from publication WO22243456 A1.

[0003] Publication WO22243456 A1 discloses an electronic control circuit which is configured to switch the power switches to an open state when an electrical fault is detected by a measuring circuit in the form of current sensors coupled to each connection line. In these documents, it is in particular a question of finding a solution making it possible to efficiently evacuate the heat released by the electronic power cut-off components, of the power transistor type.

[0004] Publication WO2022106527 A1 also discloses a current measurement sensor that may consist of a differential measurement toroid. However, the differential measurement toroid is usually crossed by the power cables of the neutral current line and the phase current line, which has the consequence of complicating the assembly of the electronic cut-off protection device, because this operation of passing the power cables requires meticulousness and the creation of welding points.

[0005] The present invention aims to overcome at least one of these drawbacks and aims to propose an alternative solution to the known prior art making it possible to facilitate the assembly of the electronic cut-off protection apparatus.

[0006] To this end, the invention relates to an electronic cut-off protection device comprising at least:

[0007] - a case,

[0008] - a phase current line between a first phase connection terminal and a second phase connection terminal,

[0009] - a current sensor comprising at least one torus configured for at least measuring the current flowing in said phase current line and for emitting at least one acquisition signal representative of the image of the current flowing in said at least one phase current line,

[0010] - an electronic cut-off unit comprising at least one electronic component power cut-off device arranged on said phase current line,

[0011] - an electronic protection trigger comprising at least one unit of control electrically connected with said current sensor and coupled to said electronic cut-off unit which is configured to at least process said acquisition signal and where appropriate to emit a protection trigger control signal representative of the occurrence of a fault to control the opening of said at least one electronic power cut-off component in the event of the occurrence of a fault,

[0012] - a phase conductive plate forming on the one hand a part of the line of phase current and on the other hand a heat sink and being electrically and thermally connected to said electronic cut-off unit so as to dissipate the heat coming from said at least one electronic power cut-off component at least by thermal conduction and to conduct the current to said electronic cut-off unit,

[0013] characterized in that the phase conductive plate comprises a first conductive measurement portion, the phase conductive plate and the first conductive measurement portion being a first single-piece conductive part, and

[0014] in that the torus is arranged around the first conductive measuring portion.

[0015] The invention will be better understood, thanks to the following description, which relates to several preferred embodiments, given by way of non-limiting example, and explained with reference to the attached schematic drawings, in which:

[0016] [Fig-1] [Fig.l] represents a perspective and partial view of an apparatus of electronic cut-off protection according to the invention, and

[0017] [Fig.2] [Fig.2] represents a perspective, exploded and partial view of the electronic cut-off protection device according to the invention.

[0018] The invention relates to an electronic cut-off protection device comprising at least:

[0019] - a housing 1,

[0020] - a phase current line P between a first phase connection terminal 2 and a second phase connection terminal 3,

[0021] - a current sensor comprising at least one torus 4 configured for at least measuring the current flowing in said phase P current line and for emitting at least one acquisition signal representative of the image of the current flowing in said at least one phase P current line,

[0022] - an electronic cut-off unit 5 comprising at least one electronic component power cut-off electronics 6 arranged on said phase current line P,

[0023] - an electronic protection trigger comprising at least one unit of control electrically connected with said current sensor and coupled to said electronic cut-off unit 5 which is configured to at least process said acquisition signal and, if necessary, to emit a trigger control signal protection representative of the appearance of a fault to control the opening of said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 in the event of the appearance of a fault,

[0024] - a phase conductive plate 7 forming on the one hand a part of the line of phase current P and on the other hand a heat sink 8 and being electrically and thermally connected to said electronic cut-off unit 5 so as to dissipate the heat coming from said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 at least by thermal conduction and to conduct the current to said electronic cut-off unit 5.

[0025] According to the invention, the electronic cut-off protection apparatus is characterized in that the phase conductive plate 7 comprises a first conductive measurement portion 9, the phase conductive plate 7 and the first conductive measurement portion 9 being a first single-piece conductive part 10, and

[0026] in that the torus 4 is arranged around the first conductive measurement portion 9.

[0027] Advantageously, in this configuration, advantage is taken of the presence of the phase conductive plate 7 forming on the one hand a part of the phase current line P and on the other hand a heat sink 8 to position the torus 4 in the housing 1 at the level of the first conductive measurement portion 9 which is part of this phase conductive plate 7. In this configuration, the torus 4 is not arranged around a cable or electrical braid forming the phase current line P. This results in a simplification of the architecture of the electronic cut-off protection apparatus and its assembly. Indeed, compared to an electrical cable or an electrical braid, the first conductive measurement portion 9 is more rigid, which also facilitates passage through the torus 4 and therefore assembly.

[0028] It will also be noted that the phase conductive plate 7 makes it possible to evacuate the heat coming from said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 towards the second phase connection terminal 3 by thermal conduction.

[0029] Preferably, the electronic cut-off protection apparatus comprises a galvanic isolation mechanism comprising a first set of contacts 11 with a first fixed contact 12 and a first movable contact 13 arranged on the phase current line P connected in series with said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 and the first conductive measurement portion 9 comprises and preferably forms said first fixed contact 12.

[0030] Advantageously, in this case the first conductive measuring portion 9 performs both a positioning function of the torus 4 in the housing 1 and a fixed contact function. This results in a reduction in the number of parts and therefore a simplification of the architecture of the electronic cut-off protection device and its assembly.

[0031] Preferably, the electronic cut-off protection device further comprises a neutral current line N between a first neutral connection terminal 14 and a second neutral connection terminal 15 and the toroid 4 is a differential toroid and is crossed by the neutral current line N to further measure the current difference flowing between said phase current line P and the neutral current line N and emit an acquisition signal representative of the current difference between the phase current line P and the neutral current line N.

[0032] In this case, the electronic cut-off protection device can integrate a differential fault detection function.

[0033] Preferably, the first / second neutral connection terminal 14, 15 comprises a conductive part 16 comprising at least one contact portion 17 configured to come into contact with an electrical distribution supply conductor of the network or of a load, the conductive part 16 of the first neutral connection terminal 14 is extended by a neutral conductive plate 18 forming at least part of the neutral current line N, the neutral conductive plate 18 comprises a second conductive measurement portion 19, the conductive part 16, the neutral conductive plate 18 and the second conductive measurement portion 19 being a second single-piece conductive part 20, and the torus 4 is arranged around the first conductive measurement portion 9 and the second conductive measurement portion 19 which are parallel to each other and at a distance from each other.

[0034] Advantageously, in this configuration, advantage is also taken of the presence of the neutral conductive plate 18 forming at least part of the neutral current line to position the torus 4 in the housing 1 at the level of the second conductive measurement portion 19 which is part of this neutral conductive plate 18. In this configuration, the torus 4 is not arranged around a cable or electrical braid forming the neutral current line N. This results in a simplification of the architecture of the electronic cut-off protection device and its assembly. Indeed, compared to an electrical cable or an electrical braid, the second conductive measurement portion 19 is more rigid, which also facilitates passage through the torus 4 and therefore assembly.Furthermore, the first conductive measuring portion 9 and the second conductive measuring portion 19 being distant from each other, the dielectric insulation distance between the phase potential and the neutral potential is respected.

[0035] Preferably, the second conductive measuring portion 19 is formed by one end of the neutral conductive plate 18 located opposite the conductive part 16.

[0036] By this advantageous configuration, the neutral conductive plate 18 allows all like the phase conductive plate 7 to position the torus 4 in the housing 1 around the second conductive measurement portion 19 and the first conductive measurement portion 9 and therefore to allow any current difference to be measured between the phase current line P and the neutral current line N.

[0037] Preferably, the galvanic isolation mechanism further comprises a second set of contacts 21 with a second fixed contact 22 and a second movable contact 23 arranged on the neutral current line N and the second conductive measuring portion 19 comprises and preferably forms said second fixed contact 22.

[0038] Advantageously, in this case the second conductive measuring portion 19 performs both a positioning function of the torus 4 and a fixed contact function. This results in a reduction in the number of parts and therefore a simplification of the architecture of the electronic cut-off protection device and its assembly.

[0039] Preferably, the electronic cut-off protection apparatus comprises at least one phase compartment 24 comprising at least the first phase connection terminal 2, said electronic cut-off unit 5, the phase conductive plate 7, and the second phase connection terminal 3 and a neutral compartment 25 comprising at least the first neutral connection terminal 14, the neutral conductive plate 18 and the second neutral connection terminal 15, the phase compartment 24 and the neutral compartment 25 being separated by an insulating separating wall 26 comprising a passage 27 configured to accommodate the torus 4 crossed by the first conductive measurement portion 9 and the second conductive measurement portion 19.

[0040] The creation in the housing 1 of the phase compartment 24 and the neutral compartment 25 makes it possible to divide the housing 1 at least into two parts and to physically separate said at least one phase current line P from the neutral current line N to respect the dielectric insulation between the phase potential and the neutral potential. In the case of a multipolar electronic cut-off protection device comprising several phase current lines P and one neutral line N, the housing 1 can comprise as many phase compartments 24 as there are phase current lines P. The passage 27 makes it possible to receive the toroid 4 between the phase compartment 24 and the neutral compartment 25.

[0041] Preferably, the insulating separating wall 26 comprises an insulating positioning portion 28 projecting into the passage 27 and being parallel to and interposed between the first conductive measurement portion 9 and the second conductive measurement portion 19.

[0042] Advantageously, the positioning portion 28 makes it possible to position the torus 4 and makes it possible to isolate the first conductive measurement portion 9 from the second portion measuring conductor 19 ensuring compliance with the dielectric insulation between the phase potential and the neutral potential.

[0043] Preferably, the first single-piece conductive part 10 is made of metal and preferably copper.

[0044] Preferably, the second single-piece conductive part 20 is made of metal and preferably copper.

[0045] Preferably, said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 comprises at least one power transistor and preferably at least one MOSFET and / or one JFET and / or one IGBT.

[0046] Advantageously, thanks to this arrangement of the present invention it is possible to place said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the first assembly E1 and said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the second assembly E2 either on the same face 30, 31 of the electronic card 12 or on the opposite faces 30, 31 of the electronic card 12.

[0047] Preferably, said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the second assembly E2 is mounted on the second face 31 and comprises a dissipating element oriented against the second face 31 and the phase conductive portion 7 comprises a contact interface 32 which is arranged opposite the first face 30, against the latter and being aligned with said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the second assembly E2 and is electrically and thermally connected to the electronic card 29 without direct electrical and thermal contact with said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the second assembly E2.

[0048] Advantageously, in this configuration it is not necessary for the phase conductive portion 7 to be mounted on the same face of the electronic card 29 as said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the first assembly E2 to establish the electrical and thermal connection between the phase conductive portion 7 and said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the first assembly E2.

[0049] Preferably, said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the first assembly E1 is mounted on the second face 31 while being adjacent to said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the second assembly E2 and comprises a dissipating element oriented against the second face 31.

[0050] Advantageously, in this case said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the first assembly E1 and said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the second assembly E2 are mounted on the same face, namely the second face 31.

[0051] The housing 1 preferably has a generally parallelepiped shape with a first main face (not shown) and a second main face (not shown), and side faces, respectively rear 33, upper 34, lower 35, front (not shown) extending from one to the other of the first and second main faces and with a width, that is to say the gap between the first and second main faces, equal to an integer number of times a predetermined distance, called module generally worth approximately 18 millimeters.

[0052] Thanks to this advantageous arrangement, the format of the housing 1 is modular and this results in a modular electronic cut-off protection device.

[0053] The electronic cut-off protection device shown in Figures 1 to 2 has a width of two modules. This example is not limiting.

[0054] The modular electronic cut-off protection device can be a static modular circuit breaker of the SCCB (Semi Conductor Circuit Breaker) type or a static modular differential circuit breaker SC-RCBO (Semi Conductor Residual current Circuit Breaker with Overload).

[0055] The electronically cut-off protection device may comprise a phase P current line, or several phase P current lines, and optionally further a neutral current line. Figures 1 to 2 illustrate an electronically cut-off protection device with a phase P current line and a neutral current line N.

[0056] The electronic cut-off protection device can be a circuit breaker or perform a differential circuit breaker protection function, but also other functionalities, for example current and voltage measurement, protection against electric arc faults in the installation.

[0057] When the electronic cut-off protection device performs a differential circuit breaker protection function, it necessarily includes the toroid 4 which is a differential toroid making it possible to detect differential fault type faults and which is connected to the control unit.

[0058] The first phase 2 connection terminal and the first neutral connection terminal 14 may be a screw cage terminal or a spring-type self-clamping terminal or the like. In the examples illustrated in the figures the first phase 2 connection terminal and the first neutral connection terminal 14 are each a screw cage terminal and are arranged inside the housing 1 near the upper side face 34.

[0059] The second phase connection terminal 3 and the second neutral connection terminal 15 may be a screw cage terminal or a self-tightening terminal of spring type or similar and / or a mixed self-tightening cage and screw type. In the examples illustrated in the figures the second phase connection terminal 3 and the second neutral connection terminal 15 are each a terminal mixed self-tightening cage type and screws and are arranged inside the housing 1 near the lower side face 35.

[0060] In the case of a first phase 2 connection terminal or a first neutral connection terminal 14 with screw cage illustrated in Figures 1 to 2, the first phase 2 or neutral connection terminals 14 each comprise a conductive part 16 comprising at least one contact portion 17 configured to come into contact with a power supply conductor of the network or of a load. The two conductive parts 16 are arranged inside the housing 1 near the upper side face 34.

[0061] The torus 4 is preferably arranged both in the phase compartment 24 and in the neutral compartment 25 of the housing 1. The axis of the torus 4 is preferably perpendicular to the rear lateral face 33 and the front lateral face and is preferably in the plane of the insulating separating wall 26. The torus 4 is arranged in the passage 27.

[0062] The torus 4 can be only around the first conductive measuring portion 9 to measure only the current flowing in the phase current line P. In this case, the electronic protection trip unit can trigger the electronic cut-off unit 5 in the event of an overcurrent type fault or a short circuit type fault or an electric arc type fault.

[0063] The control unit (not shown) of the electronic protection trip device is electrically connected to the electronic cut-off unit 5. The control unit and the electronic cut-off unit 5 are arranged inside the housing 1. For example, the control unit may comprise at least one microcontroller and at least one power driver.

[0064] The control unit and the electronic cut-off unit 5 may respectively comprise one or more electronic cards. The control unit and the electronic cut-off unit 5 could alternatively comprise a single electronic card comprising said microcontroller and said power driver and said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6. In the example illustrated in the figures, the electronic cut-off unit 5 and the control unit are not grouped on the same electronic card, but on at least two separate electronic cards electrically and mechanically connected to each other, only the electronic card 29 is shown.

[0065] In this case, the electronic cut-off unit 5 comprises the electronic card 29 on which said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 is mounted and preferably integrated. The electronic card 29 is arranged in the phase compartment 24 preferably parallel to the first and second main faces of the housing 1 and to the insulating separating wall 26 and extends lengthwise in a space located between the first and second phase connection terminals 2, 3, in the width direction in a space located between the rear lateral face 33 and the front lateral face, and in the thickness direction in a space located between the second main face and the insulating separating wall 26. In the example illustrated in the figures, the electronic card 29 is preferably arranged at least partly opposite the second main face.

[0066] The first set E1 of electronic power cut-off components 6 and the second set E2 of electronic power cut-off components 6 are preferably mounted in series, for example head-to-tail, on the phase current line P.

[0067] In the illustrated example, the first assembly E1 and the second assembly E2 each have two electronic power cut-off components 6. This example is not limiting. The first assembly E1 comprises at least two electronic power cut-off components 6 in the same direction and mounted in parallel. The second assembly E2 comprises at least two electronic power cut-off components 6 in the same direction and mounted in parallel.

[0068] The dissipating element (not shown) of the electronic power cut-off component 6 is generally made of metal, for example anodized aluminum.

[0069] It can be fixed on a ceramic or plastic body, preferably molded, of the electronic power cut-off component 6.

[0070] In this case, the dissipating element may be in the form of a metal plate, corresponding to the drain of the electronic power cut-off component 6, which is arranged opposite an insulated face 36. Depending on the types of electronic power cut-off components 6, the drain may also perform an electrical connection function with an attached dissipating element described below. This may for example be the case when the drain is located at the face of the electronic power cut-off component 6, which may be the upper face, not resting against one of the faces 30, 31 of the electronic card 29. However, when the drain is located on the face of the electronic power cut-off component 6, which may be the lower face, which rests on one of the faces 30, 31 of the electronic card 29, the drain does not perform an electrical connection function with an attached dissipating element.

[0071] Alternatively, the dissipating element may be a separate part attached to the electronic power cut-off component 6 and in particular not corresponding to the drain. The dissipating element may in this case be in the form of a part provided with a plurality of fins. Either this dissipating element is not in electrical contact with the drain of the electronic power cut-off component 6 and is mounted on the insulated face 36, or this dissipating element may be in electrical contact with the drain of the electronic power cut-off component 6. results that in this variant, the drain must be located at the level of the face of the electronic power cut-off component 6 not resting against one of the faces 30, 31 of the electronic card 29.

[0072] The phase conductive plate 7 forming a heat sink 8 may preferably be in the form of a flat part or flat plate with or without a folding zone. Preferably, the flat part or flat plate is arranged in the housing 1 in the phase compartment 24 parallel to the first and second main faces, to the insulating separating wall 26 and to the electronic card 29. The flat part or flat plate extends in the lengthwise direction in a space located between the first and second phase connection terminals 2, 3, in the widthwise direction in a space located between the rear lateral face 33 and the front lateral face, and in the thicknesswise direction in a space located between the second main face and the insulating separating wall 26.

[0073] The term “first single-piece conductive part 10” is understood to mean a part formed in one piece, for example by folding or stamping, for example, a preferably metallic conductive part. In other words, the phase conductive plate 7 and the first conductive measurement portion 9 are not two distinct and separate parts; there is no junction by mechanical connection between two distinct parts which would be formed between the portion of the phase conductive plate 7 and the first conductive measurement portion 9. The first single-piece conductive part 10 is preferably made of copper.

[0074] The first conductive measuring portion 9 may be in the form of a tab, preferably made of metal, for example copper. The tab may consist of a metal plate curved at 90 degrees having a general L shape, the longest portion of which is used to receive the torus 4 and the shortest portion to form a junction with the phase conductive plate 7. This tab may be in a plane offset and parallel to the plane of the phase conductive plate 7 so as to be able to be positioned in the passage 27 of the separating wall 26. Preferably, the tab is parallel to the first and second main faces, to the insulating separating wall 26, to the positioning portion 28 and to the electronic card 29 and is in the phase compartment 24. The width of the tab is designed to allow the latter to pass through the internal diameter of the torus 4.The length of the tab is designed to pass through the torus 4 on either side so that the free end of the tab projects from the inner diameter of the torus 4 after assembly.

[0075] The first fixed contact 12 is preferably made by the tab of the first conductive measuring portion 9. The contact zone with the first movable contact 13 being located at the free end of the tab.

[0076] The first movable contact 13 is preferably mounted on a contact holder.

[0077] The neutral conductive plate 18 may preferably be in the form of a flat part or flat plate with or without a folding zone. This neutral conductive plate 18 does not have a dissipative function in the illustrated example, but this possibility is not excluded. Preferably, the flat part or flat plate is arranged in the housing 1 in the neutral compartment 25 parallel to the first and second main faces, to the insulating separating wall 26 and to the electronic card 29. The flat part or flat plate extends in the length direction in a space located between the first and second neutral connection terminals 14, 15, in the width direction in a space located between the rear lateral face 33 and the front lateral face, and in the thickness direction in a space located between the first main face and the insulating separating wall 26.

[0078] The neutral conductive plate 18 is located in the extension of the contact portion 17 of the first neutral connection terminal 14.

[0079] The term “second single-piece conductive part 20” is understood to mean a part formed in one piece, for example by folding or stamping, for example, a preferably metallic conductive part. In other words, the preferably conductive contact portion 17 and the neutral conductive plate 18 are not two distinct and separate parts, there is no junction by mechanical connection between two distinct parts and which would be formed between the contact portion 17 and the neutral conductive plate 18. The second single-piece conductive part 20 is preferably made of copper.

[0080] The second conductive measuring portion 19 is preferably formed by the end of the neutral conductive plate 18 located opposite the conductive part 16. The second conductive measuring portion 19 can also be in the form of a tab preferably made of metal, for example copper, similar to that of the first conductive measuring portion 9 and which can be inserted into the internal diameter of the torus 4.

[0081] The second fixed contact 22 is preferably made by the tab of the second conductive measuring portion 19. The contact zone with the second movable contact 23 being located at the free end of the tab.

[0082] The second movable contact 23 is preferably mounted on the contact holder.

[0083] The first movable contact 13 and the second movable contact 23 can be actuated by an operating member of the type a lever M (not shown) connected to the contact holder. This lever M preferably projects from the front side face.

[0084] The insulating separating wall 26 is preferably made of a polymer material such as plastic. The passage 27 preferably has a substantially rectangular shape.

[0085] The positioning portion 28 may be in the form of a tab, preferably made of metal, called a positioning tab. This positioning tab is protruding into the passage 27 of the separating wall 26. The width of the positioning tab is designed to allow its passage through the inner diameter of the torus 4. The length of the positioning tab is designed to pass through the torus 4 on either side so that the free end of the tab protrudes from the inner diameter of the torus 4 after assembly.

[0086] The first face 30 of the electronic card 29 may comprise a conductive layer (not shown) of the equipotential track or plane type which is in direct contact on the one hand with the contact interface 32 of the phase conductive plate 7 and on the other hand with said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the second assembly E2. This conductive layer may be connected to the contact interface 32 by a solder material.

[0087] Preferably, the electronic cut-off protection device comprises a phase conductive portion 37 forming on the one hand another part of the phase current line P and on the other hand an additional heat sink 38 and being electrically connected between the first phase connection terminal 2 and the second phase connection terminal 3.

[0088] The phase conductive portion 37 forming an additional heat sink 38 may preferably be in the form of a flat part or flat plate. Preferably, the flat part or flat plate is arranged in the housing 1 in the phase compartment 24 parallel to the first and second main faces and to the electronic card 29. Furthermore, the flat part or flat plate is arranged opposite the first face 30 of the electronic card 29 on an area devoid of the second set E2 of electronic power cut-off components 9 and opposite the insulating separating wall 26.

[0089] The phase conductive portion 37 is located in the extension of the conductive part 16 of the first phase connection terminal 2.

[0090] The conductive part 16 of the first phase connection terminal 2 and the phase conductive portion 37 can form an additional single-piece phase conductive part 39.

[0091] An additional single-piece phase conductive part 39 is understood to mean a part formed in one piece, for example by folding or stamping, for example, a preferably metallic conductive part. In other words, the conductive part 16, preferably made of electrically conductive material, and the phase conductive portion 37 are not two distinct and separate parts; there is no junction by mechanical connection between two distinct parts that would be formed between the conductive part 16 and the phase conductive portion 37.

[0092] Preferably, the phase conductive portion 37 comprises an additional contact interface 40 which is arranged opposite the first face 30, against the latter and being aligned with said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the first assembly El and is electrically and thermally connected to the electronic card 29 without direct electrical and thermal contact with said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the first assembly El.

[0093] Furthermore, the first face 30 of the electronic card 29 may comprise an additional conductive layer (not shown) of the equipotential track or plane type which is in direct contact on the one hand with the additional contact interface 40 of the phase conductive portion 37 and on the other hand with said at least one electronic power cut-off component 6 of the first assembly E1.
