Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: building brick
[0001] The present invention relates to the technical field of building bricks, in particular a building brick having specific assembly capabilities and its associated use, for the construction of a wall, a fence or a post.
[0002] Currently, walls are made with standard brick-type blocks, adapted to be assembled up to a certain height. These standard blocks have many disadvantages.
[0003] Standard blocks have a considerable weight, which limits the ability to achieve a very high storage height when constructing a wall. With heavy blocks and the associated weight distribution, the center of gravity of the wall is too high, consequently presenting a significant risk of overturning if the assembly height is excessive.
[0004] Lightweight building blocks composed of a low-density material or a hollow structure are also known. These blocks have the disadvantage of being not very robust and form walls that also have low resistance to thrust.
[0005] The term "thrust" means any horizontal or quasi-horizontal application of force against said wall.
[0006] The present invention remedies these drawbacks.
[0007] The invention relates to a building brick comprising a body having an upper face, a lower face, and two lateral assembly faces.
[0008] According to a general definition of the invention, the building brick further comprises: - assembly protuberances of chosen shape, arranged regularly on the upper face of the body, configured to allow assembly in use with the lower face of an identical brick in the upper position; - at least one lateral recess arranged longitudinally along the entire height of each lateral assembly face, capable of forming a recess open at a lower end and an upper end by assembly with a lateral assembly face of a second identical brick, and configured to allow the insertion of a rod of an assembly device; - a central perforation, located centrally on the upper face of said body, and suitable for receiving the rod of the assembly device; and - the underside of the body includes a central recess of chosen volume, configured to be assembled with the assembly protrusions of a identical brick in the lower position.
[0009] Advantageously, the invention makes it possible to increase the wall's resistance to thrust by using said bricks in the construction of a wall, and also to increase the storage heights of the walls thus constructed. Finally, it ensures a higher level of safety for the structure.
[0010] The storage height is defined as the wall height beyond which the risk of collapse becomes too great for a user to work safely.
[0011] In addition, the building bricks according to the invention are easier to transport and also reduce their environmental impact, by reducing the weight of the blocks, when transporting them to construction areas.
[0012] In practice, the central recess further includes at least two reinforcements arranged centrally along the height of the lower face, and configured to horizontally lock the position of the assembly protrusions of another identical brick arranged in a lower position.
[0013] By way of non-limiting example, the assembly protuberances have a shape belonging to the group formed by truncated pyramid, cuboid.
[0014] In practice, the lateral recess has a hemicylindrical shape.
[0015] The invention further relates to the use of bricks according to the invention in the context of the construction of a wall, and consisting in that: - a first brick has a rod of an assembly device inserted vertically at the level of a perforation located centrally on an upper face of said body, - a second and a third identical brick are then placed on the upper face of the first brick, forming an open recess by assembling the lateral recesses of each lateral assembly face of the second and third bricks respectively, and whose position is configured to be locked by assembly protrusions; - the rod fixed to the said first brick is then made vertically in the open recess formed, the position of the bricks then being locked vertically by fixing a plate placed on an upper part of the open recess; - the steps are then repeated when building a wall.
[0016] Advantageously, the brick according to the invention and its use in the construction of a wall makes it possible to obtain a stabilized wall, and of increased solidity.
[0017] Such a use makes it possible to obtain a wall with better stability while facilitating its construction.
[0018] Other advantages and features of the invention will become apparent upon examination of the description and drawings in which: - [Fig.l] schematically represents a three-quarter view of the brick according to the invention; - [Fig.2] schematically represents a top view of the brick conforming to the invention; - [Fig.3] schematically represents a side view of the brick according to the invention; - [Fig.4] schematically represents a view from below of the conforming brick to the invention; - [Fig. 5] schematically represents a particular embodiment of assembling a group of bricks according to the invention; and - [Fig.6] schematically represents an enlarged view of the particular embodiment of assembling a group of bricks according to the invention.
[0019] With reference to figures 1 to 6, the building brick according to the invention comprises an upper face 21, a lower face 22, and two lateral assembly faces 23.
[0020] The upper face 21 includes assembly protrusions 11 of chosen shape, arranged regularly, and whose arrangement, shape and height are configured to allow assembly with the lower face 22 of an identical brick in upper position in use.
[0021] According to one embodiment of the invention, assembly protuberances 11 are of shapes belonging to the group formed by truncated pyramid, cuboid.
[0022] The brick according to the invention further comprises, on its lateral assembly faces 23, at least one lateral recess 12 arranged longitudinally over the entire height of each lateral assembly face 23.
[0023] In use, a lateral recess 12 is able to form a longitudinal open recess over the entire height of said lateral face of assembly configured to be assembled to a second lateral recess 12 of a second identical brick to form a longitudinal recess having a lower end and an upper end respectively open.
[0024] In practice, the upper end of the longitudinal recess thus formed is suitable for receiving a flat plate 31, arranged horizontally, and fixed to the rod 32 so as to lock the brick assembly thus formed.
[0025] By way of example, the rod 32 is a threaded rod.
[0026] Advantageously, such an assembly is configured to allow the vertical insertion of a rod 32 of an assembly device 3 so as to secure the set of bricks in use while locking their positions.
[0027] According to a particular embodiment of the invention, the lateral recess (12) has a hemicylindrical shape.
[0028] The upper face 21 of the brick according to the invention further comprises a perforation 13, hereinafter referred to as central perforation 13, arranged centrally and vertically.
[0029] In practice, the central perforation 13 is suitable for vertically receiving the rod 32 of the assembly device 3.
[0030] In use, the central perforation 13 is configured to receive the lower part of the rod 32, said rod 32 serving as a means of vertically locking said assembly of bricks B1, B2, B3, B4 in use. The rod 32 is then inserted into the longitudinal recess formed by the concomitant lateral recesses of at least two independent bricks in order to vertically lock the assembly.
[0031] During implementation in the construction of a wall, when a first brick B1 and a fourth brick B4 are placed side by side with their respective lateral assembly faces in contact to form a base, a rod 32 of an assembly device 3 is inserted into each brick B1, B4, respectively, at a central perforation 13. A second and third brick B2, B3 are placed on said first B1 and fourth brick B4, the respective lateral assembly faces 23 of the second and third bricks B2, B3 are brought into contact and, by joining their respective lateral recesses 12, form a longitudinal recess open at a lower end and an upper end. This longitudinal recess is suitable for receiving a portion of the rod 32.
[0032] The building brick according to the invention further comprises a hollowed body 1 whose volume consists of a central hollow 15 disposed on the lower face 22 of the body 1.
[0033] In practice, the lower face 22 of the body 1 including the central recess 15, is configured to be assembled with at least part of the assembly protrusions 11 of at least one identical brick in the lower position (Bl, B4).
[0034] According to one embodiment of the invention, the central recess 15 further comprises at least two reinforcements arranged centrally on the height of the lower face 22.
[0035] Advantageously, such reinforcements allow horizontal locking of the bricks when used in assembly by complementarity with the brick assembly protuberances arranged in the lower position.
[0036] By way of non-limiting example, the building brick according to the invention is made of concrete.
[0037] The invention further relates to the use of the building brick according to the invention, said use comprising the following steps: - a first brick Bl has a rod 32 of a vertically inserted assembly device 3 at the level of a perforation 13 disposed centrally on an upper face 21 of said body 1, - a second B2 and a third B3 brick, identical, are then arranged on the upper face 21 of the first B1,B4 brick, forming an open recess by assembly of the lateral recesses 12 of each lateral assembly face 23 respectively of the second B2 and third B3 bricks, and whose position is configured to be locked by assembly protuberances 11; - the rod 32 fixed to said first brick B1 is then made vertically in the open recess formed, the position of the bricks B1, B2, B3 then being locked vertically by fixing a plate 31 disposed on an upper part of the open recess; - the steps are then repeated when building a wall.
[0038] Surprisingly, the Applicant observed that the building brick according to the invention makes it possible to obtain a stabilized wall, of increased solidity while limiting the physical constraints of the users by limiting the weight of each brick.
