Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Kit for fixing a saddle to the rear mudguard of a motorcycle FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] This innovation concerns a kit for fixing a saddle to the rear mudguard of a motorcycle.
[0002] DESCRIPTION OF THE PRIOR ART
[0003] As well known, the rear mudguard is an essential component of a motorcycle whose function is to prevent sand, mud, stones, liquids and other splashes from being thrown into the air by the tire while driving, causing damage to people and other vehicles, as well as to the driver of the motorcycle.
[0004] In addition, the rear mudguard is generally used to fix the motorcycle seat. The system used for this attachment must, of course, be easy to use and, at the same time, stable during driving in order to avoid unwanted movements for the driver.
[0005] Document DE202022104266 shows a motorcycle rear mudguard with a fastening system between the mudguard and the seat which uses two hook-shaped projections arranged in the longitudinal direction of the mudguard, between the respective arms and the main body. These hook-shaped projections serve in particular to prevent the seat from sliding backwards during strong acceleration.
[0006] This system, by its nature, involves a slight movement of the seat in the longitudinal direction with each acceleration or braking. Furthermore, in the event of braking, the movement of the seat cannot be securely locked, since braking would cause the seat to move in the opposite direction to that of the hook.
[0007] Furthermore, this system cannot provide any form of shock absorption in the event of jolts on the motorcycle, a situation which frequently occurs in the field of application in question, in particular when used on a motocross or a trials motorcycle. Summary of the invention
[0008] The present innovation therefore aims to provide a kit for fixing a seat to the rear mudguard of a motorcycle which is easy to use and, at the same time, stable while driving, both during braking and during acceleration.
[0009] Another feature of the present innovation is to provide such a kit which makes it possible to cushion saddle movements.
[0010] These and other objectives are achieved by a kit for attaching a seat to a motorcycle rear mudguard, said seat comprising two receiving holes, said kit comprising a motorcycle rear mudguard comprising an elongate main body extending along a longitudinal axis y, said elongate main body comprising two lateral edges mutually symmetrical with respect to said longitudinal axis y,
[0011] the main characteristic of which is that said motorcycle rear mudguard also comprises two attachment holes arranged on said elongated main body and mutually symmetrical with respect to said longitudinal axis y,
[0012] and that said kit also comprises two fastening elements, each fastening element comprising:
[0013] - a first head arranged to be inserted into a respective receiving hole of said saddle;
[0014] - a second head arranged to be inserted into a respective attachment hole of said motorcycle rear fender.
[0015] The present innovation thus makes it possible to take advantage of the holes already present in the saddle to create a fixing system for the rear mudguard of the motorcycle which is easy to use and, at the same time, stable during driving, both when braking and accelerating.
[0016] Advantageously, said first head is designed to make said attachment element integral with said saddle.
[0017] Advantageously, said second head is designed to be inserted reversibly into a respective attachment hole of said motorcycle rear mudguard.
[0018] In particular, said first head comprises a tip and a base, said tip having a plan shape not symmetrical with respect to the axis and a width greater than said base, such that said first head can be inserted into a respective receiving hole of said saddle and then rotated to make said fastening element integral with said saddle.
[0019] In particular, said second head comprises an enlarged cross-section and a restricted cross-section, said enlarged cross-section having a plan shape symmetrical with respect to the axis and a width greater than said restricted cross-section, such that said first head can be inserted by snap-fitting, by means of pressure from a user, into a respective attachment hole of said motorcycle rear mudguard.
[0020] In this way, the user can insert the first heads of the attachment elements into the saddle receiving holes and lock them there so that they cannot be removed by simple pulling. The second heads can be inserted by pressure in the mudguard attachment holes, when the user wishes to close the saddle, and removed from these holes by a simple pull to open the saddle.
[0021] Alternatively, said second head is designed to make the attachment element integral with said motorcycle rear mudguard.
[0022] Alternatively, said first head is designed to be reversibly inserted into said respective receiving hole of said saddle.
[0023] In this second embodiment, unlike the previous solution, the attachment elements can be fully constrained to the rear mudguard and be inserted and removed by the pressure exerted by the saddle.
[0024] Advantageously, each attachment element is at least partially made of plastic material.
[0025] Advantageously, said first head has a button or mushroom shape. Brief description of the drawings
[0026] The innovation will now be illustrated with the following description of its embodiments given by way of example, without limitation, with reference to the appended drawings in which:
[0027] - [Fig.l] illustrates an embodiment given as a possible example of a guard- motorcycle rear mudguard, according to the present innovation;
[0028] - [Fig.2A] to 2D illustrate different perspective views of the fixing elements;
[0029] - [Fig.3A] to 3E illustrate the subsequent steps necessary for assembling the kit according to this innovation.
[0030] DESCRIPTION OF CERTAIN PREFERRED EXAMPLE EMBODIMENTS
[0031] With reference to [Fig.l], the kit for attaching a saddle 200 to a motorcycle rear mudguard 100, according to the present innovation, comprises a motorcycle rear mudguard 100 comprising an elongated main body 110 which extends along a longitudinal axis y and which comprises two lateral edges 115 mutually symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis y.
[0032] Furthermore, the motorcycle rear mudguard 100 comprises two attachment holes 120 arranged on the elongated main body 110, also mutually symmetrical with respect to the longitudinal axis y.
[0033] With reference to [Fig.2A] to 2D, the kit also comprises two attachment elements 150, each attachment element 150 comprising a first head 151 arranged to be inserted into a respective receiving hole 210 of the saddle 200, and a second head 152 arranged to be inserted into a respective attachment hole 120 of the motorcycle rear mudguard 100.
[0034] In particular, the first head 151 of each attachment element 150 has a button or mushroom shape and is designed to make the attachment element 150 integral with the saddle 200, while the second head 152 is designed to be snapped into a respective attachment hole 120 of the motorcycle rear mudguard 100.
[0035] More particularly, with reference to [Fig.3A] to 3E, the first head 151 comprises a tip 151' and a base 151”, and the tip 151' has a plan shape that is not symmetrical with respect to the axis, for example oval, and a width greater than the base 151”, such that the first head 151 can be inserted into a respective receiving hole 210 of the saddle 200 and then rotated to make the attachment element 150 integral with the saddle 200.
[0036] Furthermore, the second head 152 comprises an enlarged cross-section 152' and a restricted cross-section 152”, and the enlarged cross-section 152' has an axially symmetrical plan shape and a greater width than the restricted cross-section 152”, such that the first head 152 can be snap-fitted, by means of user pressure, into a respective attachment hole 120 of the motorcycle rear fender 100.
[0037] Due to this shape, each attachment element 150 can be inserted and locked into a receiving hole 210 arranged in the saddle 200 and subsequently press-fitted by a user into the mudguard 100 during use.
[0038] In this way, the kit according to the present innovation provides a simple and above all stable attachment system while driving, both during acceleration and braking, avoiding unwanted movements of the driver during such maneuvers.
[0039] Furthermore, each attachment element 150 may be made of an at least partially rubberized material, so as to provide additional damping, even lateral, to the movements of the saddle.
