[0001] The present invention relates generally to an anti-aging catalyst composition that is used as a catalyst prior to using anti-aging skin care compositions. The anti-aging catalyst enhances the anti-aging benefits of any anti-aging skin care routine, as demonstrated by improved skin properties, particularly on the face, for example, reducing wrinkles and fine lines on the forehead, providing better radiance than with the use of the anti-aging skin care composition or treatment regimen alone. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0002] There are a variety of skin conditions that benefit from cosmetic products that can be applied to the skin to brighten the skin, reduce one or more of fine lines on the face, dullness, dryness, tightness, dark spots, and reduce the effects of acne or inflammatory lesions, improve skin scaling and renewal, and activate the proliferation of new cells in the skin, among other possible benefits. Many skin care products offer active ingredients that address one or more of these or other skin concerns, but there are challenges in providing products that contain high enough amounts of actives to provide the desired benefits.

An anti-aging catalyst composition comprising: a mixture of cosmetically acceptable acids comprising at least one beta-hydroxy acid and at least three alpha-hydroxy acids, and one or more other cosmetically acceptable acids; and a cosmetically acceptable solvent comprising at least water, wherein the pH of the skin care composition is in a range of pH 3.6 to pH 3.

2. An anti-aging catalyst composition according to claim 1, comprising at least one amino acid comprising at least taurine.

3. An anti-aging catalyst composition according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the one or more other cosmetically acceptable acids which are not an alpha- or beta-hydroxy acid include at least phytic acid.

4. An anti-aging catalyst composition according to any preceding claim, wherein the mixture of cosmetically acceptable acids includes at least salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid and phytic acid.

The anti-aging catalyst composition of claim 4, wherein the mixture of cosmetically acceptable acids which includes at least salicylic acid, glycolic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid and phytic acid is present in the composition in a total amount of 7.7%, by weight, based on the total weight of the anti-aging catalyst composition.

6. An anti-aging catalyst composition according to any preceding claim, wherein the total amount of cosmetically acceptable acid is present in a range of 1% to 70%.

An anti-aging catalyst composition according to any preceding claim, wherein the anti-aging catalyst composition excludes any one or a combination of pH adjusters, chelating agents, skin actives, humectants, skin penetrating agents, antioxidants, plant extracts, plant oils and butters, perfumes, fillers, powders, clays, pearlizing agents, odor absorbers, colorants and dyes, essential oils, vitamins, antimicrobials and preservatives, oils (of natural and synthetic origin, including but not limited to silicone oils, hydrocarbon-based oils and waxes), and surfactants, emulsifiers, or a combination thereof.

An anti-aging catalyst composition according to any preceding claim, wherein the anti-aging catalyst composition excludes any one or a combination of parabens, phthalates, cyclomethicones, silicone, mineral oil, petroleum-based ingredients, synthetic dyes, sulfates, polyquaternium, microplastics, EDTA, silicone oils, mineral UV-blocking agents, organic UV-blocking agents, or a combination thereof.

An anti-aging catalyst composition according to any preceding claim, wherein the anti-aging catalyst composition excludes any one or a combination of ascorbic acid and other forms of vitamin C, ferulic acid, gallic acid, zinc pca, azelaic acid, chlorogenic acid, and vitamin E, or a combination thereof.
