Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: High voltage active curtain
[0001] Today, traditional mechanical defenses, such as locks, curtains, grilles, and bars, do not prevent determined and well-equipped intruders from forcing and breaking into premises. Audible or telephone alert systems, however, only manage to limit their presence time. Unfortunately, physical penetration still occurs, resulting in significant damage in just a few minutes.
[0002] The present invention will be characterized by a light mechanical curtain, propagating on the surface a high voltage impulse current (greater than 8,000.00 volts and less than 10,000 volts) but of low amperage, produced by a generator of electric discharges of a duration of less than one second, of a space-time between each impulse greater than one second and of an intensity less than 5 joules, standards required to be approved and legal. This electrically reinforced curtain will prevent the passage of all unauthorized persons to enter a building, on the ground floor as in the upper floors, by exposure to non-lethal neurological pain felt in the event of physical contact, making it more dissuasive and effective than passive steel defenses.
[0003] The invention will be positioned facing the exit to be protected, adjusted to its dimensions, on a dielectric material insulating the structure of the building which receives the fixing hooks. The material of this curtain will itself be non-conductive. Two separate conductive circuits will be arranged on the surface of its apron, parallel to each other and without ever touching, responsible for ensuring the passage of electricity, see [Fig.l]. There will therefore be no risk of line losses or short circuits caused by an “Earthing” of the “Plus” phase, around or on the curtain.
[0004] The present invention will consist of a specific assembly of these conductive circuits to expose to an optimal shock in all cases and in all places. Indeed, the pain will be felt by the concomitant exposure to its two different polarities. It must be specified here that many limits hinder the use of the "Earth" polarity, particularly in cities where there is a total absence of conductive reference earth on soils filled with sand and pebbles, covered with concrete or asphalt, blocking the macroscopic movement of electrical charges. In addition, inside buildings, there is even less natural "Earth" reference, due to the concrete slabs equipped with various insulating coatings and the numerous floors away from the true earth. In addition, it is forbidden to connect to the "Earth" circuit of any network of electrical outlets connected to the building's electrical panel. Therefore, it is very difficult for the person touching the "Plus" circuit to feel the pain-laden discharge, if no clear contact is established between his feet and the "Earth". natural. The present invention, to create the exposure to the necessary difference in polarity between the “Plus” output of the high voltage generator and its other “Earth” reference terminal, will consist of connecting them directly, from its output terminals to the surface of the deck, along two circuits of parallel conductors and sufficiently close to be touched at the same time by the person.
[0005] The present invention will be characterized by a blind with slats connected together by non-conductive cords or ribbons, which can be raised or separated as desired. The conductive circuits will be arranged on each slat, see [Fig.l]. Let us suppose that each one bears a number starting from 1, for the one at the very bottom, up to the number of the last upper slat, variable according to the height of the curtain: the odd 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, etc., will then be connected together to form a circuit connected to the "Earth" terminal of the generator and the even slats 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, etc., will be connected together to form a loop from the "Plus" output terminal of the same voltage generator, to the "Plus" return terminal.
[0006] The means of electrical conduction of these circuits retained here, for reasons of simplicity and reinforcement of the structure, will be based on the installation of two vertically stretched steel cables, each passed to the two ends of the blades of the deck, connected one to the "Earth" terminal of the generator, the other to the "Plus". The odd conductors will be in contact with the first of these cables and the even conductors with the second. Any other means of connection could be envisaged by means of a conductor connecting all the even conductors, insulated so as not to cause a short circuit by crossing the conductors of the other polarity and a second insulated conductor connecting the odd ones, or two lateral slides with the conductive material, each connected to the two different poles, one in contact with the even ones, the other with the odd ones.
[0007] These cables or conductors will be sufficiently spaced apart from the odd ones to avoid creating a short circuit but sufficiently close together so that their proximity requires the person, wishing to pass through, to have physical contact with at least two of reversed polarity. Thus, the latter will be exposed to a powerful electric shock, identical to directly touching the two outputs of the generator at the same time, regardless of the location or floor where they are.
[0008] The present invention will have, in addition to the curtain, two cabinets, one of which will contain the high voltage generator and the second a power supply unit delivering a 12 volt power supply, while recharging a backup battery designed to support the assembly in the event of power cuts. If necessary, everything can be combined in a single cabinet.
[0009] This generator will allow several curtains to be managed in the same building, by connecting them in parallel using two insulated sheathed cables, connectable to the plugs of the two polarities, arranged on the upper part of each curtain.
[0010] The present invention will be controlled by an alarm center, controllable by remote control, secret code keypad or badges, key box or via an internet application, in order to manage its activation and deactivation of the electronic and electrical parts. It may be supplemented by a telephone transmitter to warn users in the event of operating anomalies and intrusion attempts, while being capable of triggering an alert siren, projection of incapacitating gas, luminous lighting, etc.
[0011] The invention will be electronically self-protected against attempts at sabotage or breaking in, by the addition of a shock and movement sensor placed on the curtain apron.
[0012] The present invention may remain fixed in front of a window or be raised in front of a passage, by winding around a horizontal or vertical tubular axis, motorized or not.
[0013] This curtain may also be available on a solid surface sufficiently flexible to be rolled up, such as a fabric for example, in which case the two separate conductor circuits will be arranged in two parallel continuous loops connected to the current generator, one by means of one of the two steel cables used to stiffen the structure, the second connected to the other cable. A structure opening by swinging, fixed on hinges to the wall, ceiling or floor, having on its surface the same two electrical conductor circuits, may also be implemented.
[0014] The present invention will therefore prove to be much lighter, easier to install and therefore easier to move than the heavy and bulky passive steel protection curtains, which are more expensive and less of a deterrent.
