In a salon environment, equal amounts of either composition SHMP (side A) or Cl-S (side B) were applied to opposite sides of the heads of three human volunteers and worked into the hair for 15 seconds, after which the hair was rinsed with water for 15 seconds. Next, equal amounts of composition IA (side A) or Cl-C (side B) were applied to the volunteers' hair and left to stand at room temperature for three minutes. The hair was then thoroughly rinsed before being blow-dried. The properties of each composition and the properties imparted to the hair by each composition were evaluated by an expert, as follows. Example 2-1# - Properties of compositions During the routine, the expert evaluated the properties of the IA and Cl-C compositions. As shown in [Fig. 1], the IA composition, according to the disclosure, scored significantly higher than the Cl-C composition in terms of both ease of application and blending into the hair. The expert noted that, as shown in [Fig. 2], the Cl-C composition remained on the surface of the hair. (side B), while composition 1A according to disclosure (side A) was easily absorbed into the hair.
[0132] Example 2-2 - Properties of treated hair and scalp
[0133] Once the IA or Cl-C compositions had been rinsed from the hair, the expert assessed the wet detangling ease of the treated hair after post-conditioning (PC). As shown in [Fig. 1], the IA composition provided significantly higher wet detangling ease than the Cl-C composition.
[0134] After drying the hair, the expert assessed the dry-state properties of both sides of the volunteers' hair. As shown in [Fig. 1], the hair treated with Composition IA according to the disclosure had significantly better smooth texture, shine, finishing properties (reduced appearance of split ends), bounce, manageability, and frizz control than the hair treated with Composition Cl-C. Figures 3 and 4 show images of the dried hair, where the expert noted that the hair on side A of [Fig. 3] was consistently smooth from root to tip with less frizz and appeared less heavy or weighed down than the hair on side B, and the hair on side A of [Fig. 4] was smooth and shiny, with less frizz than the hair on side B, which was dry and appeared frizzy and unruly.
[0135] The results showed that the treated hair was much easier to style, softer, and shinier after treatment with the SHMP shampoo and the IA composition than after treatment with the Cl-S shampoo and the Cl-C conditioner. The results also demonstrated that the volunteers' scalps appeared healthier, more hydrated, and cleaner after treatment with the SHMP shampoo and the IA composition than after treatment with the Cl-S shampoo and the Cl-C conditioner, demonstrating that the IA composition improved scalp care with the use of beneficial agents in the shampoo and conditioner. Example 3 - Additional Assessments
[0136] The procedure in Example 2 was repeated on ten (10) separate strands of type 4 hair, using the SHMP composition from Table IB and one of the 1C-1L compositions from Tables 1A-1 and 1A-2. Once dry, the properties of the treated strands were evaluated, with the results being the same as those observed with composition IA in Example 2. The expert observed that increasing the amount of beneficial agent improved the overall smooth texture and frizz control, with the strand treated with composition IL having the best softness, shine, and anti-frizz properties. The expert also observed that the strands treated with compositions including ceramides had the best anti-frizz effects.
[0137] The above examples, which are considered statistically significant in terms of both the observed improvement in the properties of the compositions and the treated hair as well as repeatability, demonstrate that stable compositions containing beneficial agents and / or active anti-dandruff agents, which have a desirable composition and treatment properties, can be prepared. [0141] The above examples demonstrate that hair conditioning compositions that are stable and provide excellent scalp care, while also providing excellent cosmetic properties to the hair, can be obtained. These results were surprising, as conditioning compositions are not used for scalp care.
Claims
Demands
1. Hair conditioning composition comprising: (a) at least one cationic surfactant; (b) at least one ceramide; (c) optionally, at least one anti-dandruff active agent; and (d) water, wherein the total amount of cationic surfactants is from about 0.1% to about 15% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition, and wherein the composition comprises less than about 3% of cleansing surfactants.
2. Hair revitalizing composition according to claim 1, wherein the total amount of ceramides ranges from about 0.0001% to about 3%, preferably from about 0.0001% to about 2%, more preferably from about 0.0005% to about 1.5%, more preferably still from about 0.0005% to about 1%, most preferably from about 0.001% to about 1% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition.
3. Hair revitalizing composition according to claim 1 or claim 2, comprising at least one ceramide selected from ceramide AP, ceramide NP, ceramide EOP or combinations thereof.
4. Hair revitalizing composition according to any one of claims 1 to 3, comprising at least one anti-dandruff active agent selected from ellagic acid, ellagic acid ethers, ellagic acid salts, ellagic acid ether salts, pyrithione, pyrithione salts, selenium (poly)sulfides, salicylic acid, pyroctone olamine, tea tree oil, climbazole, fluocinolone, ketoconazole, coal tar, or combinations thereof, preferably selected from pyrithione salts, more preferably comprising zinc pyrithione.
5. A hair revitalizing composition according to claim 4, wherein the total amount of anti-dandruff active agents ranges from about 0.01% to about 10%, preferably from about 0.01% to about 5%, more preferably from about 0.1% to about 3%, more preferably still from about 0.5% to about 2%, the most preferably from about 0.5% to about 1.25% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition.

Hair revitalizing composition according to any one of claims 1 to 5, further comprising at least one fatty acid selected from saturated or unsaturated fatty acids having from 8 to 30 carbon atoms, preferably selected from co-3 unsaturated fatty acids having from 16 to 24 carbon atoms, co-6 unsaturated fatty acids having from 16 to 24 carbon atoms, or combinations thereof, more preferably selected from oleic acid, lauric acid, palmitic acid, myristic acid, stearic acid, linoleic acid, capric acid, caprylic acid, α-linolenic acid, arachidonic acid, eicosapentaenoic acid, docosahexaenoic acid, or combinations thereof.
7. Hair revitalizing composition according to claim 6, wherein the total amount of fatty acids present in the composition ranges from about 0.001% to about 3%, preferably from about 0.01% to about 2%, more preferably from about 0.05% to about 1.5%, more preferably still from about 0.1% to about 1.25%, most preferably from about 0.1% to about 1% by weight, relative to the total weight of the composition.
8. Hair revitalizing composition according to any one of claims 1 to 7, comprising at least one additional beneficial agent selected from phytosphingosine, cholesterol or combinations thereof.
9. Hair revitalizing composition according to any one of claims 1 to 8, further comprising at least one moisturizing agent or hair revitalizing agent.
10. A method for caring for keratinous materials comprising applying a composition according to any one of claims 1 to 9 to the keratinous materials, and rinsing the composition off the keratinous materials.
