Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Device for fixing a screen to a dashboard.
[0001] The technical field relates to devices for fixing a screen to a dashboard, assemblies comprising such a device and a screen fixed to the device, dashboards comprising at least one such device or at least one such assembly fixed to the dashboard, and finally motor vehicles having such a dashboard.
[0002] Automobile manufacturers take great care to improve passenger comfort in their vehicles. Thus, they are constantly seeking to improve vehicle interiors to offer customers new features or enhance existing ones. In this context, screens displaying entertainment or navigation information, positioned centrally on the dashboard, have become very common. These screens sometimes utilize users' mobile phones by allowing them to mirror their phone's display on the screen. However, some information requires a specific screen orientation to be displayed correctly. For this reason, many screens are mounted to move between two orientations requiring the screen to be rotated by an angle of 90° around an axis perpendicular to the screen: a so-called landscape orientation and a so-called portrait orientation.
[0003] Rotating the screen from one orientation to another very often involves motorized means. These motorized means have several drawbacks, such as their complexity, cost, significant weight, and the risks associated with failures of these complex means.
[0004] Thus, there is a need for a solution to change the orientation of a screen fixed to a dashboard without using a motorized system.
[0005] The present invention aims to overcome the problems described above. In this technical context, one objective of the present invention is to provide a mounting device for attaching a screen to a dashboard and for changing the screen's orientation, without a motorized mechanism.
[0006] To this end, the present invention relates to a screen mounting device designed to fix a screen to the dashboard of a motor vehicle, the device comprising a base, designed to be fixed to the dashboard, the device further comprising a receiving interface designed to receive the screen mounting, the interface and the base being connected by a pivot joint about an axis of rotation, the base having at least two notches spaced apart from each other at a predetermined angle, the device comprising a release handle mounted movable in rotation about a first pivot axis, between a locking position and an unlocking position, the handle being connected to a tongue, the tongue having a lug protruding from the tongue, the lug being able to be engaged, by rotation of the interface about the axis of rotation, in each of the notches of the base when the handle is in its locking position in order to limit the rotation of the interface, the movement of the handle from its locking position to its unlocking position allowing the lug to be disengaged from any notch in which it is engaged.
[0007] The invention also relates to an assembly comprising a device according to the invention and a screen fixed on the interface of the device, the axis of rotation being substantially perpendicular to the screen.
[0008] The invention further relates to a dashboard of a motor vehicle comprising at least one device according to the invention or at least one assembly according to the invention, each device base being fixed to the dashboard.
[0009] The invention finally relates to a motor vehicle comprising a dashboard according to the invention.
[0010] Thus, the device according to the invention allows a screen to be fixed to a dashboard. Manipulating the handle from its locked position to its unlocked position disengages the tab from any notch, thereby freeing the rotation of the interface and consequently the screen. By returning the handle to the locked position, the screen's rotation can be limited or blocked by rotating the interface until the tab engages in a notch to block or limit its rotation. The device therefore allows manual rotation of the screen between the two preferred orientations, without the need for a complex motorized system.
[0011] According to one embodiment of the device, the tongue is mounted movable around a second pivot axis, parallel to the first pivot axis, the tongue and the handle being linked by a sliding pivot joint disposed between the first and second pivot axes.
[0012] Advantageously, the handle extends between a proximal end designed to be manipulated by a user and a distal end, the sliding pivot joint implementing at least one pin of the handle protruding from the distal end.
[0013] Advantageously still, the tongue extends between an engagement end, the lug projecting from the engagement end, and a linking end having a groove designed to cooperate with each pin of the handle to form the sliding pivot linkage.
[0014] According to one possibility of the device, at least two notches are spaced apart from each other at an angle of 90°.
[0015] According to one embodiment of the device, the notches are formed in a ring of the base extending around the axis of rotation.
[0016] The invention will be better understood upon reading the following detailed description, given solely by way of non-limiting example and made with reference to the accompanying drawing in which:
[0017] [Fig-1] [Fig.1] represents a perspective view of a device according to the invention showing the base and interface of the device.
[0018] A fixing device 1 according to the invention, illustrated in the figure, is designed to allow the fixing of a screen 2 on a dashboard according to the invention, not illustrated.
[0019] The device 1 comprises a base 3, illustrated in the figure, designed to be fixed to the dashboard. For this purpose, the base has, for example, a plurality of fixing studs 4, illustrated in the figure, to allow the base 3 to be screwed onto the dashboard. The base 3 is, for example, made of plastic.
[0020] As illustrated in the figure, the device 1 further includes a receiving interface 5 designed to receive the attachment of the screen 2. The interface 5 is, for example, an aluminum plate 6.
[0021] The interface 5 and the base 3 are connected by a pivot joint 7 around a rotation axis AR, illustrated in the figure. Thus, the screen 2, fixed to the interface 5, can be oriented by rotation around the rotation axis AR.
[0022] The base 3 has at least two notches 8 spaced apart at a predetermined angle. In the example shown in the figure, the notches 8 are formed in a ring 9 of the base 3 extending around the axis of rotation AR. For example, the ring 9 extends in a plane perpendicular to the axis of rotation AR. As shown in the figure, one notch 8 has, for example, a rectangular cutout in the ring 9, while another notch 8 has a groove opening onto an edge of the ring 9.
[0023] The device 1 also includes a release handle 10 mounted to rotate about a first API pivot axis between a locked position, shown in the figure, and an unlocked position, not shown. The first API pivot axis is, for example, parallel to the plate 6. Advantageously, the handle 10 is held in its locked position by elastic return means, not shown.
[0024] The handle 10 is connected to a tab 11. Advantageously, the connection between the tab 11 and the handle 10 is a sliding pivot joint 12, the tab 11 being mounted to rotate freely about a second pivot axis AP2. The second pivot axis AP2 is parallel to the first pivot axis APL. The sliding pivot joint 12 is located between the first API and second AP2 pivot axes.
[0025] In the example illustrated in the figure, the first API and second AP2 pivot axes are provided substantially in the middle, respectively, of the handle 10 and the tongue 11.
[0026] The tongue 11 has a lug 13 projecting from the tongue 11, the lug 13 being able to be engaged by rotation of the interface 5, in this case of the plate 6, around the axis of rotation AR in each of the notches 8 of the base 3 when the handle 10 is in its locking position, in order to limit the rotation of the interface 5 relative to the base 3. For example, the rotation is blocked in one direction of rotation and / or in both directions of rotation when the lug 13 is engaged in a notch 8. The limitation or blocking of the interface 5 depends on the shape of the notch 8 relative to the lug 13 and / or on the open shape of the notch 8.
[0027] Moving the handle 10 from its locking position to its unlocking position allows the lug 13 to be disengaged from any notch 8 in which it is engaged.
[0028] In the example illustrated in the figure, the handle 10 extends between a proximal end 14 designed to be manipulated by a user and a distal end 15, the sliding pivot joint 12 implementing at least one pin 16 of the handle 10 projecting from the distal end 15.
[0029] The tongue 11 extends between an engagement end 17, the lug 13 projecting from the engagement end 17, and a linking end 18 having a groove 19 designed to cooperate with each pin 16 of the handle 10 to form the sliding pivot link 12.
[0030] The assembly 20 according to the invention is formed of a device 1 and the screen 2 fixed on the interface 5. In the assembly 20, the axis of rotation is substantially perpendicular to the screen 2.
[0031] Thus, when the handle 10 is moved from its locking position to its unlocking position, the proximal end 14 is rotated around the first pivot axis API to bring it closer to the plate 6, causing the sliding pivot link 12 to move away from the plate 6 and the tab 11 to rotate around its second pivot axis AP2 to move the lug 13 away from the crown 9 and cause it to disengage from the notch 8. Once the lug 13 is disengaged from the notch 8, the plate 6 is free to be rotated around the rotation axis AR.
[0032] When the desired position of the screen 2 is obtained, the handle 10 is moved to its locking position causing the lug 13 to engage in a notch 8 or the lug 13 to rest against the ring 9. In the latter case, an adjustment of the position of the interface 5, by rotating the latter, allows a lug 13 to engage in a notch 8.
[0033] Thus, the device 1 according to the invention allows the screen 2 to be fixed to the dashboard. Manipulating the handle 10, from its locked position to its unlocked position, disengages the lug 13 from any notch 8 to free the rotation of the interface 5 and therefore of the screen 2 fixed to the interface 5. By returning the handle 10 to the locked position, the rotation of the screen 2 can be limited or blocked by rotating the interface 5 until the lug 13 engages in a notch 8.
[0034] The invention is not limited to the embodiment of the fastening device described above, only by way of example, but other embodiments can be designed by a person skilled in the art without departing from the scope and extent of the present invention.
