Abstract

This method of authenticating an object (12) by a physically non-clonable function performed using a transducer implanted on the object includes: the recording (302) of a measurement, using the transducer, of a spectrum (SP) of a physical quantity characteristic of the object (12) in response to excitations produced in a predetermined frequency band, the generation (300, 304, 306, 308, 310) of a digital signature (SIG) of identification of the object (12) from this measurement, and the authentication (312) of the object (12) by comparison of this signature (SIG) with a reference signature (SIGREF).The generation (300, 304, 306, 308, 310) of the signature (SIG) involves the prior acquisition (300) of at least one frequency mode (F1, … FN) of resonance of the object (12), the transformation (304) of the measured spectrum (SP) by a processing dependent on this frequency mode of resonance, and the generation (306, 308, 310) of the signature (SIG) from the transformed spectrum (SP').
