Abstract

The present invention relates to a process for dehydrogenating a feed comprising methylcyclohexane to produce a dehydrogenation effluent comprising hydrogen and toluene, by contacting said feed with a dehydrogenation catalyst implemented in a reaction section comprising at least one adiabatic reactor, said catalyst comprising an active phase comprising at least platinum and potassium at a content of between 0.03% and 1% by weight of element potassium relative to the total weight of the catalyst, and a support comprising alumina.
