Abstract
Description
Title of the invention: Retention system for a profile extracted from a rear door slide of a motor vehicle. Technical field
[0001] The invention relates to a retention and / or holding system for an extruded profile of a rear door slide, in particular a mixed rear door, of a motor vehicle. Previous technique
[0002] FR3102714 is known as an arrangement for a window surround on a side door of a motor vehicle, generally referred to as a "window seal". The FR3102714 arrangement includes a means for retaining in position a trim piece located at the window surround and attached by clipping along an extruded profile. The extruded profile of FR3102714 has overmolding elements arranged to retain the extruded profile on the vehicle body.
[0003] The extruded profile with overmolding elements of FR3102714 presents a problem. Its manufacture requires a specific overmolding step of the overmolding elements onto the extruded profile. This specific overmolding step is complex to implement and results in additional costs.
[0004] The invention aims to overcome this drawback.
[0005] The invention therefore aims to provide a retention system for an extruded profile of a rear door slide of a vehicle, in which the extruded profile is obtained by a process free from any overmolding step of an overmolding element on the extruded profile.
[0006] The invention also aims to propose such a retention system for an extruded profile in which the extruded profile is free of any means of positive fixing capable of ensuring a fixing of the longitudinal end of the extruded profile. Description of the invention
[0007] The invention relates to a system without positive fixing, for the retention - in particular the holding - of an extruded profile of a rear door slide of a motor vehicle.
[0008] The invention relates to a retention system for an extruded profile of a rear door slide of a motor vehicle, the extruded profile, in which: - the extruded profile has a longitudinal rib for joining the extruded profile to a trim piece, called a C-shaped trim piece, - said trim piece C has a lateral fold forming a U-shaped groove along any transverse cross-section of said trim piece C, - the longitudinal rib forms at least one flexible lip extending continuously along the length - in particular along the entire length - of the longitudinal rib, - the longitudinal rib being adapted to be able to extend into the groove of said base trim C, characterized in that the U-shaped groove of said base trim C has a plurality of protuberances each extending into the U-shaped groove from an inner face of a wall forming the U-shaped groove, each protuberance being adapted to be able to cooperate with a section of the flexible lip of the longitudinal rib engaged in the U-shaped groove and to be able to retain the extruded profile attached to said base trim C over the entire length of the extruded profile.
[0009] The invention therefore relates to a type of design, assembly and retention of the extruded profile on said said trim piece foot C of the rear slide of a motor vehicle.
[0010] Throughout the text: - The term "substantially" and the expression "at least substantially" usually indicate that a structural or functional characteristic should not be taken as marking an abrupt discontinuity, which would have no physical meaning, but rather covers not only that structure or function, but also slight variations of that structure or function which produce, in the technical context considered, an effect of the same nature, if not of the same degree. - The XYZ coordinate system refers to a direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system classically used in automotive design, in which the X-axis designates the front-to-rear longitudinal direction of the vehicle, oriented towards the rear, the Y-axis designates the transverse direction and is oriented to the right of the vehicle, and the Z-axis designates the vertical direction and is oriented upwards. Such a direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system, as represented in [Fig. 8], conforms to standard no. 0100112. - the terms "front", "rear", "right", "left", "up" and "down" are to be considered in relation to a motor vehicle in normal condition to move forward, and - In the automotive field, the terms "pillar" or "pillar" refer to rigid, essentially vertical elements that contribute to maintaining the structure of the motor vehicle. The terms "front pillar" or "front upright" or "pillar A" refer to the essentially vertical pillar located between the windshield and the front right or left door of the vehicle. The terms "center pillar" or "center upright" or "pillar B" refer to the essentially vertical pillar located between the front and rear (right or left) doors of the vehicle. The terms "rear pillar" or "pillar C" refer to the essentially vertical rigid element located at the rear of the rear (right or left) door of the vehicle.
[0011] The extruded profile is formed by extrusion, in particular by hot extrusion, of a compressed material forced through a die having a predetermined cross-section. Advantageously, the extruded profile is formed by extrusion—in particular thermoformed by extrusion—in long lengths, and then cut to obtain the desired length of extruded profile.
[0012] According to the invention, the retention system for the extruded profile on said base cover C does not require any further preparation of the extruded profile after its extrusion, other than a step of cutting the extruded profile to the required dimensions, in particular the required length(s). The production of the elements necessary for mounting the base slide C is therefore simplified.
[0013] According to the invention, the extruded profile is flexible in longitudinal bending. It can take any shape required by the shape of said C-shaped base trim and / or by the shape of the U-shaped groove of said C-shaped base trim. The extruded profile is elastic in transverse compression with respect to the elongation axis of the extruded profile. Also, the longitudinal rib of the extruded profile is elastic in transverse compression with respect to the elongation axis of the extruded profile. Furthermore, the flexible lips of the extruded profile are elastic in transverse compression with respect to the elongation axis of the extruded profile.
[0014] According to the invention, the flexible and elastic lips under transverse compression are elastically brought into contact with each of the protrusions formed on the inner face of the U-shaped groove when the longitudinal rib of the extruded profile is engaged in the U-shaped groove of said foot trim. The alignment and regular distribution of the protrusions on the inner face of the U-shaped groove allows for optimal bonding of said foot trim C and the extruded profile, without requiring the use of at least one specifically added positive fastening element, such as a fastening element overmolded onto the extruded profile or an added clip-on fastening element.
[0015] According to certain embodiments, the lateral fold forming the U-shaped groove of said base trim C extends over at least a part of -in particular over substantially the entire- length of said base trim C.
[0016] According to certain embodiments, the extruded profile is free of any extruded profile fixing element, overmolded by injection onto the extruded profile.
[0017] According to certain embodiments, the extruded profile is free of any overmolded fixing element by injection at one of the longitudinal ends of the extruded profile.
[0018] According to certain embodiments, the extruded profile is free of any clip-on fastening element attached to the extruded profile after extrusion. Throughout this text, the term "clip-on" refers to an assembly achieved through elastic deformation.
[0019] According to certain embodiments, the extruded profile is free of any clip-on fixing device for the extruded profile, extending to one of the longitudinal ends of the extruded profile.
[0020] In certain embodiments, the extruded profile is made of at least one material selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic elastomeric polymers (TPEs), synthetic rubbers such as, for example, ethylene propylene diene monomers (EPDM), vulcanized thermoplastic polymers (TPVs), and polyvinyl chlorides (PVCs). Advantageously, the extruded profile is made of at least one thermoplastic polymer material. Advantageously, at least one thermoplastic elastomeric polymer (TPE) combines the elastic properties of elastomers and thermoplastic properties of liquid / solid transition under the effect of a temperature change. In certain embodiments, at least one thermoplastic elastomeric polymer (TPE) is selected from the group consisting of copolymers. In some embodiments, at least one thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) polymer is selected from the group of block copolymers, such as TPE-S (PP / SEBS) and TPE-V (PP / vulcanized EPDM). In some embodiments, at least one thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) polymer is selected from the group of mechanical blends of at least two polymers, including at least one thermoplastic polymer and at least one elastomer.
[0021] According to certain embodiments, the extruded profile is monobloc. According to these advantageous embodiments, the extruded profile is formed in one piece.
[0022] According to certain embodiments, each protrusion extends from the inner face of the wall forming the U-shaped groove and in a direction substantially orthogonal to said inner face. Each protrusion forms a stop against which the flexible lip of the extruded profile bears when the longitudinal rib of the extruded profile is positioned in the U-shaped groove of said base trim C. Advantageously, said support prevents the extruded profile from separating from said base trim C.
[0023] According to certain embodiments, the inner face of the U-shaped groove of said base trim C has a plurality of recesses through the wall, each recess of the plurality of recesses extending radially between a protrusion of the plurality of protrusions and a bottom of the U-shaped groove, so as to be able to receive the flexible lip section of the longitudinal rib engaged in the U-shaped groove, the flexible lip section being elastically recalled in the recess, and to be able to cooperate with the protrusion and retain the extruded profile integral with said base trim C.
[0024] According to some embodiments, the rear door is a mixed door formed of an inner door box, an outer door panel and a frame attached to the door box.
[0025] The invention also extends to a trim piece, called trim piece C, having a fold forming a groove extending over at least part of the length of said trim piece C and of U shape in cross-section of said trim piece C, the groove of said trim piece C being adapted to receive a longitudinal rib of an extruded profile of a retention system according to the invention, the groove of said trim piece having a plurality of protuberances aligned along an axis of elongation of the U-shaped groove, each protuberance extending from an inner face of a wall forming the U-shaped groove and being adapted to cooperate each with the longitudinal rib engaged in the U-shaped groove and to retain the extruded profile attached to the trim piece over the entire length of the extruded profile.
[0026] According to certain embodiments, the inner face of the U-shaped groove of said base trim C has a plurality of recesses through the wall, each recess of the plurality of recesses extending radially between a protrusion of the plurality of protrusions and a bottom of the U-shaped groove, so as to be able to receive the flexible lip section of the longitudinal rib engaged in the U-shaped groove, the flexible lip section being elastically recalled in the recess, and to be able to cooperate with the protrusion and retain the extruded profile integral with said base trim C.
[0027] The invention also extends to a motor vehicle comprising a system according to the invention, for retaining an extruded profile of a rear door slide.
[0028] The invention also extends to a motor vehicle comprising a hubcap, referred to as the C-foot hubcap, according to the invention. Brief description of the drawings

[0037] [Fig.8] [Fig.8] is a schematic representation of a direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system classically used in automotive design. Description of the implementation methods
[0038] The detail of a sliding track 3 of a left rear door 13 of a motor vehicle 20 of [Fig. 1] shows a trim piece, referred to as trim piece 6, extending forward (along the -X direction of the X axis of the direct orthonormal XYZ frame as shown in [Fig. 8]) from one left side of the body (not shown) of the vehicle 20 and in line with the body side. Trim piece 6 has a main face 19 that is part of the vehicle's trim and visible to the public. Trim piece 6 has a longitudinal upper end 30 (along the +Z axis of the XYZ frame) and a longitudinal lower end 31 (along the -Z axis of the XYZ frame). Trim piece 6 extends in a plane substantially orthogonal to the Y axis of the direct orthonormal XYZ frame. Said trim 6 foot C has a front edge 25 extending opposite a window of the rear left door 13 and a rear edge 26 oriented towards the left side of the body. The said trim piece 6 foot C may be made of any suitable material. It may, for example, be made of at least one metallic material, at least one polymer material, or at least one composite material. The said trim piece 6 foot C, in particular the main face 19 of the trim piece 6 foot C, may have a colored appearance and / or a chrome or non-chrome appearance. The rear edge 26 of the said trim piece 6 foot C forms a U-shaped groove 7 extending parallel to the axis of elongation of the said trim piece 6 foot C. The U-shaped groove 7 and the rear edge 26 cooperate with an extruded profile (not visible in [Fig. 1]) to ensure the sealing of the rear door 13 folded down against the side of the body in the closed position of the vehicle 20.The extruded profile is free from any means of attachment to said 6 foot C trim by positive fixing, that is to say that the extruded profile is free from any injection-molded fixing element at one of the longitudinal ends of the extruded profile and from any fixing element of the profile. extraded by clipping, attached to the extruded profile subsequently after extrusion of the extruded profile.
[0039] Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view along a cutting plane AA of Figure 1 of the extruded profile 2 cooperating with a U-shaped groove 7 of a lateral fold 12 of said wheel trim 6 foot C. The extruded profile 2 has a first main face 21 adapted to cooperate with the U-shaped groove 7 of said wheel trim 6 foot C and a second main face 22, opposite the first main face 21 and adapted to cooperate with the side of the vehicle body 20. The extruded profile 2 forms a longitudinal rib 5 on the first main face 21, the longitudinal rib 5 being adapted and dimensioned to be inserted into the U-shaped groove 7. In the embodiment shown, the longitudinal rib 5 has four flexible lips 8 intended to be folded back towards the longitudinal rib 5 during the insertion 28 of the longitudinal rib 5 of the profile 2 extruded in the U-shaped groove 7 of said trim 6 foot C.The flexible lips 8 cooperate by friction with the inner face 9 of the U-shaped groove 7 and thus contribute to retaining the extruded profile 2 attached to the trim 6 foot C. The extruded profile 2 has two longitudinal supports 27, each cooperating with the fold 12 so as to close the U-shaped groove 7 when the extruded profile 2 is held attached to the trim 6 foot C. The accumulation of dirt in the U-shaped groove is thus limited, or even prevented. The second main face 22 of the extruded profile 2 has a compressible elastic tab 23 that is compressed when the rear door 13 of the vehicle 20 is closed and the rear door 13 is folded back onto the side of the body, the tab 23 forming a seal between the rear door and the side of the body.
[0040] A cross-section along the cutting plane AA of [Fig. 1], of a section of the lateral fold 12 forming the rear edge 26 of said trim piece 6 foot C, is shown in [Fig. 3]. In [Fig. 3], the extruded profile is not shown. The fold 12 of said trim piece 6 foot C forms a U-shaped groove 7 extending opposite the inner face 18 of said trim piece 6 foot C, the U-shaped groove 7 opening onto the rear edge 26 of said trim piece 6 foot C. The U-shaped groove 7 extends along a direction 17 of elongation of the U-shaped groove 7 and of said trim piece 6 foot C. In the cross-sectional plane of [Fig. 3], the U-shaped groove 7 has a substantially smooth inner face 9 without any protrusion.
[0041] A cross-section along a cutting plane AA of [Fig. 1], of a section of the lateral fold 12 forming the rear edge 26 of said trim piece 6 foot C, is shown in [Fig. 4]. In [Fig. 4], the U-shaped groove 7 cooperates with the extruded profile 2 with elongation axis 4, the longitudinal rib 5 of the extruded profile 2 extending into the U-shaped groove 7 of said trim piece 6 foot C. The longitudinal supports 27 of the extruded profile 2 cooperate with the fold 12 so as to close the U-shaped groove 7, the The extruded profile 2 is held securely in place by the trim piece 6 (foot C) due to the flexible lips 8 which cooperate by friction with the inner face 9 of the U-shaped groove 7. The elastic tab 23 of the extruded profile 2, emerging from the second main face 22 of the extruded profile 2, is elastically deformed by compression when the rear door 13 of the vehicle 20 is closed and the rear door 13 is folded down onto the side of the body. The elastic tab 23, compressed against the side of the body, forms a seal between the rear door 13 and the side of the body. In the embodiment shown, each flexible lip 8 is elastically brought into a position of friction against the inner face 9 of the U-shaped groove 7.
[0042] A cross-section along the cutting plane BB of [Fig. 1], of a section of the lateral fold 12 forming the rear edge 26 of said trim 6 foot C is shown in [Fig. 5]. In [Fig. 5], the extruded profile is not shown. The fold 12 of said trim 6 foot C forms a U-shaped groove 7 extending opposite the inner face 18 of said trim 6 foot C, the U-shaped groove 7 opening onto the rear edge 26 of said trim 6 foot C. In the cross-sectional plane of [Fig. 5], the U-shaped groove 7 has an inner face 9 with a protrusion 14 extending from the inner face 9 of the U-shaped groove 7 and in a direction substantially orthogonal to the part of the inner face 9 from which the protrusion 14 emerges. In the cross-sectional plane of [Fig. 5], the U-shaped groove 7 has an inner face 9 with a recess 11 passing through the wall 15 of the U-shaped groove 7.The recess 11 extends transversely between the protrusion 14 and the bottom 16 of the U-shaped groove 7. However, nothing prevents us from providing that at least one, in particular each recess 11, is non-transverse of the wall 15 of the U-shaped groove 7 and forms a recess in the wall 15 of the U-shaped groove 7.
[0043] A cross-section along a cutting plane BB of [Fig.1], of a section of the lateral fold 12 forming the rear edge 26 of said trim 6 foot C is shown in [Fig.6]. In [Fig. 6], the U-shaped groove 7 cooperates with the extruded profile 2, the longitudinal rib 5 of the extruded profile 2 extending into the U-shaped groove 7 of the trim piece 6 foot C. The longitudinal supports 27 of the extruded profile 2 cooperate with the fold 12 so as to close the U-shaped groove 7, the extruded profile 2 being held securely in place by the trim piece 6 foot C. The elastic tab 23 of the extruded profile 2, emerging from the second main face 22 of the extruded profile 2, is elastic under compression during the closing of the rear door 13 of the vehicle 20 and by folding the rear door 13 down onto the side of the body. The elastic tab 23, compressed against the side of the body, forms a seal between the rear door 13 and the side of the body.In the embodiment shown, a portion 29 of a flexible lip 8 extending opposite the recess 11 is brought into an extended position in the recess 11, i.e. not folded down onto the extruded profile 2 and at the . contact of the internal face 9 of the U-shaped groove 7, due to the recess 11. The portion 29 of the flexible lip 8 is elastically brought back into the recess 11 in a position against the protrusion 14 superimposed on the recess 11. The abutment of the portion 29 of the flexible lip 8 on the protrusion 14 contributes to the retention of the extruded profile 2 so that it remains attached to said trim 6 foot C.
[0044] A trim piece, referred to as trim piece 6 foot C, for a right rear door of a motor vehicle 20 is shown in [Fig. 7]. Said trim piece 6 foot C can be formed by any suitable means, for example by injection molding. Said trim piece 6 foot C extends between an upper longitudinal end 30 (shown on the left in [Fig. 7]) and a lower longitudinal end 31 (shown on the right in [Fig. 7]). Said trim piece 6 foot C has an inner face 18 intended to extend opposite one side of the body when the rear door 13 is closed and a decorative face 19, opposite said inner face 18. The 6-foot C trim piece has a front edge 25 extending in the -X direction of the direct orthonormal XYZ coordinate system and a rear edge 26 extending in the +X direction when the 6-foot C trim piece is mounted on the motor vehicle. The front edge 25 has holes 24 for attaching the 6-foot C trim piece to the rear door 13.The rear edge 26 of said trim 6 foot C has a lateral fold 12 forming the U-shaped groove 7 adapted to receive the extruded profile 2. In the embodiment shown, the wall 15 of the U-shaped groove 7 has a plurality of protrusions 14, each extending from the inner face 9 of the U-shaped groove 7 towards the interior of the U-shaped groove 7. The protrusions 14 of the plurality of protrusions 14 are preferably aligned along the elongation direction 17 of said trim 6 foot C and the U-shaped groove 7. Advantageously, a protrusion 14 of the plurality of protrusions 14 is disposed near each of the longitudinal ends of the U-shaped groove 7 so as to retain the extruded profile 2 along its entire length, without requiring any means of positively fixing the longitudinal ends of the extruded profile 2 to said trim 6 foot C.In the embodiment shown, the wall 15 of the U-shaped groove 7 has a plurality of recesses 11 passing through the wall 15, each recess 11 being interposed between a protrusion 14 and the bottom 16 of the U-shaped groove 7. The recesses 11 are also preferably aligned along the direction 17 of elongation of said trim 6 foot C and of the U-shaped groove 7 so as to allow cooperation of each protrusion 14 with a portion 29 of the flexible lip 8 of the extruded profile 2 cooperating with said trim 6 foot C.
[0045] The invention also relates to a retention system for an extruded profile of a rear door slide of a motor vehicle on a trim piece, called C-base trim piece, such a trim piece and a vehicle equipped with such a system characterized, in combination or not, by all or part of the characteristics mentioned above or below. Whatever the formal presentation given, unless explicitly stated otherwise, the various characteristics mentioned above or below should not be considered as closely or inextricably linked to each other, the invention may relate to only one of these structural or functional characteristics, or only a part of these structural or functional characteristics, or only a part of one of these structural or functional characteristics, or any grouping, combination or juxtaposition of all or part of these structural or functional characteristics.
