AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Theft of construction equipment, particularly excavators and mini-excavators, is significant and current systems are insufficient due to the hostile environment on construction sites, making them difficult to implement effectively.

Method used

A system that locks the translation control levers in their maximum extended position, using sleeves and latches or flaps with padlocks, and optionally protective tubes to prevent movement, even if thieves attempt to cut the levers, with components designed to be compatible with various lever shapes and sizes.

Benefits of technology

The system effectively immobilizes the equipment, limiting thieves' ability to operate it, while being easy to install and requiring minimal adjustments, thus deterring theft by making it difficult to move or steer the machinery without causing significant damage.

Abstract

The present invention relates to an anti-theft system that can be positioned and fixed to all types of travel control levers (LcD) and (LcG) of construction and handling equipment such as mini-excavators and excavators, thus making them completely secure. The sleeves (2Ma) are fixed to the travel control levers (LcD) and (LcG) by set screws (Vp), preventing the invention from sliding and being removed from the travel control levers (Lc). The flaps of the invention, (2Va) and (2Vf), articulated by a hinge (2Vc), are easily operated. (2Va) and (2Vf) close and lock the two travel control levers (LcD) and (LcG) and the sleeves (2Ma). Once the two flaps (2Va) and (2Vf) are closed, the final locking is achieved with a padlock (Cd). Thus, the construction and handling equipment is brought to a halt in its movements.
